Men’s Underwear

Browsing

Everyone has to agree that the basic staples of any wardrobe consist of at least one black & white article of clothing.  In my humble opinion, stripes play an important role in creating an interesting visual effect while adding a sense of classic styling.  With both said, Ristefsky Macheda has hit the mark with combining both of these theories into one, hot, sexy brief.

Upon first inspection, I noticed the quality of construction in the seams and waistband.  After slipping into these comfortable and well-fitting briefs, I quickly discovered that these are low-rise and sit nicely along the hips without feeling inadequate in coverage and support.  These retro inspired stripes combined with the RM logo waistband make this style really pop.

As mentioned in previous reviews, I typically don’t gravitate toward s briefs, but you can’t help to fall in love with these because they feel incredibly soft and lightweight.  The ratios of 95% cotton and 5% Elastane create the perfect balance between comfort and functionality.  After wearing these the entire day, including a gym workout, I couldn’t find one thing wrong with this pair.  The line is available in other colors including Black/White, Navy/Grey, and Red/Grey. There’s plenty of visual diversity for everyone!

I don’t know that there’s anything left to say other than this manufacturer from “down under” has it covered down under.

I recently had the awesome privilege in trying out a pair of N2N undies.  I have admired N2N Bodywear for some time now, especially their sheer undies.  Yes, I do love sheer if you haven’t figured that out yet.  The pair I was given to review were cotton.  No matter, I was super excited to try them.  I wasn’t disappointed.  They were super comfortable and I almost forgot what I was wearing.  I actually had to keep reminding myself I was wearing them and I needed to review them.

My review pair was the white cotton Twilight brief.  They are not the sexiest pair but are extremely comfortable.    They are made of 90% cotton and 10% spandex and are ribbed.  They love your body and are very comfortable.

The overall fit was perfect.  They hug your body in all the right places and provide excellent support where needed.  The legs don’t bind and the waistband is not too large and non-binding.  There is plenty of room for everything you own.

I am super happy with my first N2N Bodywear brief and look forward to my next great experience in wearing their undies.

These Twilight briefs can be found at the N2N Bodywear website located at http://www.n2nbodywear.com. These briefs were provided for review.

The Twilight Brief is the first pair of underwear from N2N.  I have tried their workout shorts and liked how they performed.  I had wanted to review underwear by them and now I have been given the chance.

I was happy with the material, made up of 90% cotton and 10% Spandex.  It is comfortable with a good amount of stretch.  Call me spoiled, but I had hoped these briefs would come with a formed pouch.  With all the brands out there which sport an accentuated pouch, I would think N2N might want this great feeling brief to give its wearer the most comfort as possible.  I’m not a fan of briefs that push everything against my body, or in better terms, require me to form my own pouch.

The waistband is a color combination of yellow, gray, and black with the N2N logo surrounding the body.  The band measures 1.5 inches (3.81 cm).  To be elastic, it is a smooth material so not to cut into the body throughout the day.  The leg openings are lined with a cloth covered elastic band.  The altogether fit of the brief was helped by this feature.  The briefs remained in place all the day of classes and lots of walking.

What can be said for Andrew Christian that hasn’t already been said?  I don’t think there is anything else that can be said other than the guy is a pure genius in the arena of underwear designers.  It’s refreshing to know that a designer has come along that realizes underwear should fit you in accordance to what you posses and not what little or more the designer guesses you can place inside their creations.  A true testament to the designer is when his/her creations accentuate the wearer and not force them to hide their body.  Andrew Christian has nailed this premise with his Almost Naked line of briefs, trunks, and boxers.  I have acquired a pair of boxers to review for UNB.

I should state before I get into the review that I am not a frequent boxer brief wearer.  I do not wear boxers at all, but I will occasionally put on a pair of boxer briefs.  No matter the design, if I wear them, they have to be comfortable.  My complaint about boxer briefs is that on my body, they ride like you would not believe.  I will spent most of the day stopping on the sidewalk or in a store and pull the legs back into place.  As you can imagine, this does cause some strange looks from others.  I simply stand up and smile, mostly at the other guys smiling toward me, because deep down inside, they know exactly what I’m doing and why.  When I wore these, I found myself missing those looks as I never once had to pull them back into place.

I hold the Andrew Christian Almost Naked Sport Boxer in the utmost high praise.  The material (94% Super Soft Rayon made from Bamboo and 6% Spandex) is soft and flexible yet strong enough to stay put when you are actively moving about the office or out in public.  The Sport Boxer features the Anti-Muffin Top elastic “for a slimmer looking waistline.”  The waistband measures 1.75 inches (4.445 cm).  The leg openings are the same fabric and color as the piping along the sides (not visible) adding to the aesthetic of these boxers.  The construction of the natural-hang pouch is beyond explanation.  Whatever you posses, the pouch will easily uplift and present.  I’ve seen pictures of certain performers wearing the Almost Naked line and, without a doubt, there should be no second guessing whether or not they will provide adequate room and allow a natural hang to avoid pinching.

I wore these while at work for an eight hour shift.  The problem with many of the boxer briefs I wear is that when I am sitting at work, the boxers slide up my leg and tend to bunch.  I was surprised when I stood up and felt the boxers  had remained in place.  That caused me to love them from then on.   I reviewed a medium but feel that I could use a small.  My body is stuck in one of those “in between” sizes where you never truly know what size to purchase.

A wonderful aspect about purchasing from Andrew Christian is the fact that you can be sure you are buying American made products.  These and other designs created by AC are made in the design studio in Los Angeles, CA.  That, in itself, gives me motivation to buy from this company because it allows many Americans to have jobs in this time of economic insecurity.

The Andrew Christian Almost Naked Sports Boxer is a fantastic addition in the world of men’s underwear.  If you are a constant wearer of this design, having this boxer in your collection would be a benefit.  You can find the AC Sports Boxer at the company website located at www.andrewchristianshop.com and they are priced at $34.00.

These boxers were provided for our review.

Hi guys.  I’m Wayne, and although I spend a lot of time on the site, this is my first time reviewing.  In other words, bear with me!

Recently, I purchased a pair of the Andrew Christian “Show-It” thongs.  I know what some of you are saying right off the bat.  “OMG!  That’s enhancing underwear!”  Why, yes it is.  I work in retail as a department manager, sometimes putting in 13 hours a day.  I need a pair of briefs to provide the right amount of support so I don’t have to make the dreaded “crotch adjustment” in public.  That was my reasoning behind this purchase.

Andrew Christian underwear is made in the good old U.S.A.  Maybe someone at AC likes me, but every time I place an order, even though I pay for the regular USPS ground shipping, someone bucks it up to priority shipping without charging me anything extra.  No complaints here!

These undies are made from 90% cotton and 10% spandex.  The cotton makes them breathable while the spandex provides support in all the right areas.  The waistband is only a mere 1 1/4″ with the “anti-muffin top elastic”.  The designers hit the mark.  Personally, I can’t stand elastic that bunches up or rolls over during the course of the day.

The “show-it” technology incorporates a cotton pouch for your junk.  Slide them on, and with one adjustment, you’re pretty much good to go.  It kept my package in place all day without me having to make the any adjustments.

I’ve worn these underwear two times since receiving them.  They look great and feel just as wonderful (that is, if you’re into wearing a thong, which I can understand if that’s not your style).  I was at work during both times I’ve worn them.  The first time was for only an eight hour shift.  No problems and   comfy all day long.  The second time I wore them, it was for a longer day…a 13 hour shift.

I feel the thong strap could have been cut a bit longer because after many hours, they were becoming a little uncomfortable.  I powered on, however, and made it through the day.  I’d have to say that for a regular day, or a night out on the town, you’ll be fine and comfy the entire time.  Depending on how tight you pull up the thong back, you may want to rethink your choice if you’re going to be wearing them as long as I did.

A fad from the past is steadily emerging in the fashion industry.  Tube socks, from the late 70s and through the 80s, are returning with a vengeance.  Some may remember these being called “Kool-Aid” socks.  These bring back so many memories for me, and not all good, unfortunately.  When I was in elementary and middle school, my parents would buy these socks for me to wear at school.  During the warmer days, I hated having these socks on my legs while the “cool” kids had their new ankle socks.  I would roll the tops of my socks down so that the color rings would not show.  Today, however, I proudly wear these socks.  Think back to the popular shows of the 80s, say “The Wonder Years”, “Punky Brewster”, or “Silver Spoons” and remember how many times you saw these socks on people.  They wore them for the world to see.  Even the adult movie industry made good use of them!

Pulse Sock Jock available at Skiviez

To go along with the retro tube sock, UNB has featured the Pulse Retro Jock that sports the matching color bands.  How cool is it that now, your socks and your underwear can match again.  When guys were wearing the original color briefs with white piping, they were matching them to their socks with singular colors such as wearing their white tubes with blue bands and their blue briefs.  Now, you aren’t held back by the sold colors!  Mix them up with green and yellow and purchase the green/yellow Pulse Jock and show them off!

A year or two ago, I found a pack of fantastic boot socks from Journeys®.  They are still my most favorite socks to wear, especially since it has been an exceptionally cold winter.  These tube socks are long enough that they cover my kneecaps when I pull them up.  I have them in blue/red, green/yellow, and brown/orange.  When I wear them, I feel like I am back in the 80s with a better appreciation for them.  How could I have covered those rings when I was a teen.  Maybe I could have been the one to bring them back into style!

A fad we’ve seen emerging in primarily dress socks is silk.  These can be found in almost any color of the rainbow.  Sites have been created specifically for lovers of this type of sock.  Silk is very sheer and is quite see-through.  Silk socks are about the closest thing a guy can have to women’s pantyhose.  I have worn silk socks and I have to admit they feel different, if not weird, for the first few times they’re worn, but you do get accustomed to their lightness and ability to breathe.  The smooth feel of these socks are amazing.  One thing you may consider purchasing before getting into silk socks is sock garters.  Yes, men wear garters, too!  I found mine online somewhere, but you can find them at Sock Dreams.  Personally, I find them very attractive.  Not only can underwear spice up your life, but also socks.  Who knew something we tend to look over could be sexy!

Many men like to match the color of their dress socks with their underwear.  In the ever growing fashion market in underwear and socks, this isn’t hard to accomplish.  Companies are starting to create designs of all sorts to match the demand of their customers.  You can find then in horizontal and vertical stripes, paisley, plaid, and various geometrical patterns.  Being a man of habit, I tend to match as much as I can.  I knew a guy a few years ago that I knew what color underwear he had on by looking at his shirt.  The same idea goes along with socks.  If you are brave to try new things, go out and buy different colors of socks.  You will find a different person inside that has been dying to come out all along.

Wearing sports socks for everyday wear is a fad that appears every now and then.  When I say sports socks, I mean socks you would normally see worn on the soccer (futbol) field (as seen at the top), baseball socks with the vertical color stripes on the sides, or socks with the solid colors at the top (about 5-6 inches) while the bottoms are white (as shown here).  I have wanted to buy some of the more American football socks.  I am sure they could be found in sports stores such as Dick’s Sporting Goods® or online at Eastbay®.  I have a few pairs of baseball socks in blue and red..

Finding out what socks people have on, to me, is like finding out what kind of underwear someone is wearing.  They both let you know the person a bit more.  For instance, I bought a pair of Spiderman underwear last week.  I love them because they make me feel like a big kid.  On the same token, if you lifted the leg of my pants, there might be a pair of Auburn University socks, reflecting my favorite team in college football.

Along with the popularity of underwear in the men’s fashion world, we can see an ever increasing popularity of socks.  I guess in one way or another, they are linked together as they are both necessary articles of clothing to many.  On the other hand, we see just as many people who do not wear socks as we do of men that go commando.  Either way, socks continue to be an interesting material of clothing that brings joy and spice to people’s lives.

main-1

I am back! I know that it has been a while since I wrote an underwear review. I am sure it had something to do with leaving Atlanta and moving to Washington, D.C. and just not having a free moment to do anything but eat and sleep. Now that I am settled I am here to stay. So if you want to chat about underwear, swimwear, etc. and 41 AC Boxer1you live in or around the DC, look me up!

I was asked to review the new Andrew Christian Shock Jock boxers. I am sure you all have heard of Andrew Christian at the very least. Hopefully you know them better and sport a pair of their undies every so often. I myself am a big fan of their work, both their underwear and their swimwear. The AC Shock Jock line is one of their newest. The Shock Jock line is meant to enhance the male frontal area to the EXTREME. So in laymen’s terms increasing the visual look/size of your package. Now I am sure you are saying, wait….they have done this already with the Show-It line and the Almost-Naked line of underwear and swimwear. But the Shock Jock line takes it to the next level. The Shock Jock boxer features a hidden padded cup in the frontal part of the boxers to help shape and enhance the front “package” of a man; creating the perfect bulge. The hidden cup adds up to 2 inches (5 cm) onto your measurement.

Now personally, I don’t need any package enhancement. So I was actually worried that the boxers would be too tight because of the extra padded cup. But I was totally wrong. The padded cup was very comfortable and didn’t 42 AC Boxer 2cause any sort of cramped feeling throughout the day. There were several times throughout the day that I was very surprised by how comfortable the boxers were and how I totally forgot about the padded cup being there.

Due to my relocation I gained some weight so the large boxers that I reviewed were a bit snug, but regardless of that, they fit well. I feel that an extra large would be roomier but going up a size wouldn’t be the best way to solve my size issue. The solution to that is the gym, LOL. The material was soft and the waistband didn’t irritate me, showing that AC uses high quality materials.

In conclusion, I feel that the Andrew Christian Shock Jock boxers are very comfortable and do a great job of creating the perfect bulge that will get the stares you are looking for. I give it an overall rating of 5 on a scale of 5.

Too cute to not see again. Rawr!
Too cute to not see again. Rawr!

Hopefully, no one has been on pins and needles, waiting for the exciting second part to Under A Bear’s Clothes. It took some time to get replies returned and get the information together. Then, of course, life steps in and takes care of the rest of the time since posting the beginning. But, fear not bears and bear lovers! Here is the results of my questions to stocky and bear men.

I have to say, first off, that bears can be a tad shy when speaking of their underwear.  It was either this fact or all the bears I knew didn’t want to comment.  To an extent, I think I received a good number of replies from my questions.  Let’s get this bear underwear party started (only in my dreams, boys)!

Question 1: What type of underwear (style or cut) do you prefer? Why this choice?
The majority of responses I received leaned toward boxer briefs.  The fact that the package has room to move and breathe is a concern with these guys.  Others said they liked briefs because they provided a snug fit, used in traveling said one response.  One or two people threw in pouch briefs because they offered more room and a greater uplifting effect.

Question 2:  If you were to branch out from your normal style, which one would you want to try? Could this new adventure go along with a thought you have had in the past?
Since a good number of these guys said they liked wearing boxer briefs, branching out for them consisted of trying briefs.  One mentioned the Ginch Gonch Pretty Kitty briefs.  I can see a bear with kitties covering his rear!  That’s a great thought!  Other’s mentioned maybe something wilder like mesh or bikinis.  With newer companies coming along every month or so, they may just have a chance to try these soon.

Question 3:  Have you found a material that bests suits you and your everyday activities, whether it is cotton, spandex, Lycra, or possibly a blend?
Cotton was a top choice of fabrics.  Lycra/spandex blends were also mentioned.  The reasoning for so much cotton is because of its airy nature.  Some blends can cause more sweating and bears tend to get grumpy when they swear too much.  I tend to like a sweaty bear, but that’s just me!  On the other hand, people like the blends because they mold to the body instead of the loose tendency of cotton. More molding! More airy! I see a new commercial in the making.

Question 4:  When purchasing underwear for your mate, is there a style you prefer to see him/her in?
This question is where I got a lot of feedback!  Some men were open about what they would rather like to see, including briefs, boxers, or bikinis.  Others, however, were pretty direct about what they wanted to see.  One response said he liked seeing his mate in a jock while another wanted to see his mate in red Calvin Klein boxer briefs. Even farther, getting into the single crowd, they said it all depended on who was wearing the underwear.  I can agree with that statement.  A style that looks good on one person may not be a good choice for another.  It would be a boring world if we all wore the same thing.

Question 5:  When getting a new pair of underwear for your mate, are you open to trying new things for the sake of making the other party happy or possibly satisfying a fantasy/idea they have discovered?
The resounding response….YES! This was a definite.  All responses said they were totally open to trying new things with their partners to make them happy and see where the venture takes them.  How nice of our bears to be so open-hearted and willing to do something new!

Question 6:  Are you a fly person or do you prefer your underwear with no fly opening?
Split down the middle, our bears chose both fly and without.  One said since they liked pouches, the fly would be hard to design. Another said that the fly served no real function to him, being the main reason he hated regular, everyday brand briefs.  Yet another responder said he liked the top/pouch fly as in those created once by Jockey.

Question 7:  Do you prefer underwear with seams in the pouch/front or are you more of a seamless brief wearer?
Most replied with seamless, but everyone agreed that it wasn’t a necessity.  Every once in a while, a brief with a seam in the front can be irritating to men.  It causes a pick-and-chose motion where the guy ends up grabbing his crotch and picking a better place for his tool to rest.  That can get annoying and can be corrected with seamless briefs.  The seamless briefs can pose a problem to many because they are not generally designed with an accentuating pouch and may restrict movement more than desired.  It’s a heads or tails decision.

Question 8:  Do you prefer the more modern styles of underwear, featuring the accentuation pouch, such as 2xist, C-in2, or Andrew Christian?
The guys said, for the most part, that they liked the new accentuation pouches, even if they had never tried them.  They liked the way the pouch made the package more pronounced and how it picked up the tackle from the legs.  Only one person responded with a dislike of the pouches.  There wasn’t any reasoning…just a simple “No, that’s fine” answer and we carry on!

Question 9:  If the accentuation pouch brief is something you have not tried or you totally don’t like, are you more of a traditional/classic underwear guy, such as preferring to wear Fruit of the Loom, Hanes, or Jockey briefs or boxers?
There were quite a few point blank “NO!” answers to this question.  I think when some men found out there was a world of underwear outside what Mom and Dad used to buy them for school, they refused to go back.  I don’t blame them at all.  I was the same way. Even though these guys said no, they were open to seeing someone else in the classic designs. There are some great built guys that look amazing in a pair of tighty-whities!

Question 10:  Would you be more apt to try new styles of underwear if you saw someone of a more muscular/beefy body build compared to someone not close to your stature?
For our last question, it was split down the middle.  Half of the guys said they would more likely try a new style/brand if they saw someone of their own build modeling them.  It would help them make the final decision on whether the style looked comfortable or even be practical.  The other half said that no matter who was modeling the underwear, they would try it if they wanted to give it a shot.  If it didn’t fit well or look good, they would remember it and ever purchase them again.  Personally, I would like a model, but again, I’m not a bear, but an in between sometimes.

I would like to thank the guys who participated with the article.  We have learned a few things with regards to the thought process of stocky, beefy men and their underwear purchasing.  We can only hope that in the future, underwear designers will branch out and try to welcome in the larger size men.  There is a request for larger sizes and designers could make a great difference in today’s underwear market is they listened.

A personal love of mine is trying underwear I thought, in the not too distant past, I would never have the chance to try.  The feeling of sliding new exciting underwear into place is one that cannot be described in words.  A chance to try underwear from another country…well, that can provide this exact feeling.  I am proud to have had the opportunity to wear a pair of James Tudor underwear.

The James Tudor Half Fall Boxer
The James Tudor Half Fall Boxer

From across “the pond”, James Tudor rises as an innovative new brand in the UK.  The motivation, it seems, behind this new brand is the need and desire of men to have underwear that meets the growing demand of fashion and comfort, something we believe should be synonymous with each other.  From the logo waistband to the piping, James Tudor has taken great strides in providing today’s man with both characteristics in “revolutionary styles, from the magnetic fly to the traditional basics such as the athletic brief.”

This review pertains to the Half Fall Boxer in black with white piping in size small, being 30-32 inches (76-81 cm).  When first slipping them on, I noticed the leg openings were a bit snug but not overly tight.  This was credited to my thighs being somewhat meatier than other small wearing men.  The crotch is crafted perfectly with a nice opening, circling the male anatomy and creating a nest for its home.  The fly, if that’s what it is referred to, is not your normal opening.  Three buttons fasten the fly closed.  The waistband is 1.5 inches (3.81 cm) wide with the logo front and center.  The material is 95% cotton and 5% Lycra.  The piping creates an amazing frame around the hips.  The tags are placed in non-irritating locations and are not rough to the touch, indicating great thought and design in the creative process.

The feel of these boxers is phenomenal.  The material is a fantastic combination and one that will provide you with hours of comfort.  The opening in the fly is not restricting to retrieval in the slightest.  The buttons unbutton to a perfect spot where one can easily remove and replace his tackle.  During a day of walking at school and shopping, there was no binding or pinching.  The cut may be different to some as it is cut more squarely than some other brand trunks.  Never the less, it is centered on comfort and style and I believe James Tudor is spot on.

To the topic at hand, underwear! I have mentioned in previous reviews that I have certain favorite brands that include C-IN2, Baskit, Andrew Christian, Nasty Pig, and N2N Bodywear. There is another that is high on the list…Cocksox. The Cocksox Part Mesh Brief was UnderwearNewsBriefs.com “Underwear of the Week” a few weeks ago and for good reason. It only seems right to give it a review as well so that you can get the details on this great pair of briefs.

I have known about this brand for several years. I stumbled upon their website several years ago and purchased a pair of the original briefs in black. Once I slipped that bad boy on, I was hooked! I loved the feel and the fit as well as the way it showed off my package. I am an avid fan of less is more and those briefs fit the bill very nicely. That said, I am here to let you know about these new revealing mesh briefs.

cx08_mesh_sidecx08_mesh_backcx08_mesh_side2

Let’s start with the fit. The fit of these briefs is great. I was a bit surprised since my first pair was a size medium. The mesh pair I was given to review is a large. The pouch fits very well. Again, I love the way it helps to lift my package up and out. This particular pair has a full coverage pouch while the rest of the brief is a tight mesh weave. The waistband is an added feature to the Cocksox briefs. I love it. The original briefs do not have a waistband so I love the fact that you can get these briefs with it or without. The mesh material is comfortable and has good coverage.

cx08_mesh_close

The material of the briefs is high quality! Again, the pouch is very comfortable and soft. The mesh material is also comfy against the skin. I would have to say that the briefs are well put together. The combination of a perfect fit and comfortable material makes this a great addition to anyone’s underwear drawer. I think these briefs are both revealing and still leave something to the imagination. The pouch is not mesh so it allows an air of mystery. But, if you are on the bold side of things are in LOVE with mesh, they have a pair in complete mesh as well. I have worn this pair several times as well as the original briefs and I find them to be great for everyday wear. I have even worn them to the gym and out running.

In conclusion, the Part Mesh Cocksox briefs are a very sexy and hot pair of briefs. I give it an overall rating of 5 on a scale of 5.

Stocky bears show off in nature - or, at least, we like them to!
Stocky bears show off in nature - or, at least, we like them to!

For many years now, men have looked to underwear manufacturers and distributors to supply them with various styles and colors to add support and excitement to their daily lives. The wonders of supporting garments have been felt by millions. Those who have worn any style of men’s undergarment saw them in an advertisement or on some kind of billboard or poster before buying. Television commercials have placed famous names into products so that we were able to see these items in motion. Magazines have used full pages to entice the public into thinking they would feel and look better in their creation. We’ve been thankful for these ads which give us a, for lack of a better word, brief look at what these articles should look like when worn.

Looking back through the history of underwear ads, one group of men has been left in the shadows. The stocky, heavy-set, big-boned, or sometimes overweight men who desire comfortable underwear have been forgotten by the advertisement campaigns of underwear designers. The everyday brands we have seen our entire lives have obviously also decided to turn a blind eye to this area of the market. This concept of “no bear” advertising is not a new trend. It started at day one.

I was looking through an underwear rack at a local department store a few weeks back and wondered about the assortment of sizes being displayed. I found one or two smalls, more mediums, even more larges, and a few graciously displayed extra larges. I wear a small in briefs but have friends I would want to see in the brand/style I was interested in buying, only in a larger size. The idea haunted me all evening long. There had probably been guys looking at these underwear, wanting to know how they felt or how they supported, but were too hesitant to spend the money. I can imagine the look on their faces, if they were underwear enthusiasts, as they turned from the rack, leaving without knowing how great they could feel. The more times this happened, the more large sizes were left on the rack.

I totally see where these men would feel left out of the crowd and ultimately feel let down by the manufacturers of something they love so much. This feeling could be derived from multiple things. First, the ads used in the general public would never show how the larger sizes would look when worn by a similar sized model. Secondly, the looks of some salespeople when underwear is purchased would not be of an understanding kind, but would likely be one of disbelief when purchased by a “big” guy. Lastly, over time, the individual might have been told out-right by someone that he did not need to wear anything like the underwear he loved. In either case, someone walked away without a chance to feel good about himself, even for a moment by himself or something more sexual with a wife or life partner.

I wanted to get more information on this topic, so I asked a few friends of mine some questions. All of these friends wouldn’t personally classify themselves as being a part of the vast movement referred to as the bear/cub/otter subculture, but some do join in the merriment therein. I asked these men ten questions pertaining to their feelings toward certain styles, materials, what they would like to see their mates wearing, what would they try if given the chance, and if advertisements would change their outlook on underwear purchases. I felt each of these points would give me a good indication of what men in this category might be thinking and wishing for the future in the world of underwear.

(to be continued)

I hope this review finds all of you guys doing well. I had the opportunity recently to sport the ever so trendy underwear from Ginch Gonch. I own their Red Bandana Jockstrap and LOVE IT! Therefore, I became very interested in reviewing a pair of their new briefs. Ginch Gonch provided a pair of the Spokey Pokey low-rise briefs for me to review. When I received them in the mail, my first thought was, “interesting”.

7114-113

Ginch Gonch has a unique style that separates them from other underwear designers. It has developed underwear lines for both men and women. I feel that it has taken a classic look of underwear and given it a modern feel. I also feel that it does a great job of making underwear fun again. I think, above all else, the latter is the truest point I can make.

While reviewing the Spokey Pokey low-rise briefs from Ginch Gonch, I found them to be very satisfying. I will admit that at first, the name of the briefs threw me, but the design on them explained it all. The briefs are mainly white briefs with a classic look, but on them appears a design involving dirt bikes. This obviously lends to the name of the briefs. I found the briefs to fit pretty well. I reviewed a size large and feel that the fit wasn’t too bad, but for a guy like me, I am curious to know how the XL size would fit. As of any Ginch Gonch underwear, the material is high quality and soft. It is very comfortable for everyday wear and even for a trip to the gym. Being someone who has both a reasonably sized package as well as some decent “junk in the trunk”, I would say that the particular design doesn’t totally work well for my body type. I personally feel much more comfortable with underwear that has a more defined pouch that aids in placement and growth. I don’t know whether going up a size would solve this issue or not.

The look of the briefs is a classic but modern take on the typical briefs of the past. Along with my low-rise version, there is the classic brief version as well as trunks and a jock in this particular design. As I mentioned earlier, this particular pair, along with many others that Ginch Gonch sells, has a very fun and childlike theme. Whether they are trucks, motorcycles, or super heroes, Ginch Gonch is working hard to bring a sense of fun and playfulness back into the underwear world. It’s something we all had when we were much younger but were forced to grow out of too soon.

B&T_MEN_BIKES_SpokeyP_LowR

In conclusion, the Ginch Gonch Spokey Pokey briefs are a pretty good pair of low-rise briefs. I give them an overall rating of 4.2 on a scale of 5.

Ginch Gonch provided the briefs I have reviewed.

neon_jockShopping online is easier and more private than shopping for undies in a store.  I would much rather purchase undies online because of this fact.  Buying anything other than boxers, boxer briefs or briefs always made me uncomfortable.  I would choose my string bikini, and then try to find either a person I wouldn’t care knew (which wasn’t likely) or a U-scan register that I could use to check my own purchase.Pulse-red

Why was I so embarrassed by my purchase?  Why did I even care if someone knew what kind of undies I wore?  I don’t have a clue, but I did.  I guess I didn’t want people to know my “private” business.  When we lived in KY, I knew a lot of people and would run into them all over town. If they saw or knew what kind of undies I bought, they might wonder what I was wearing the next time we met (I know not a logical neurosis but what can I say?).

Pulse-blueBeing able to buy online will allow me to maintain anonymity. I can also buy whatever kind of undies I want without a care in the world as to who might know because they had to fill the order.  The person filling the order doesn’t know me from anyone else in the world.  Now, I can procure sheer undies, mesh undies, fun undies, or anything that might just interest me and/or my lovely wife.  The only thing that is keeping me from purchasing online right now is the cost of the product as well as the shipping. In due time, I will we be in a position where I can buy what I want without having to consider this a factor.

The previously mentioned reasons are why this is such a great site. It provides all kinds of links, information, and ratings so that I can make an informed decision on what would be a great buy and when it’s best to buy due to free shipping, great discounts, and super specials.  How awesome is that!

JunkProduct1

I was given the privilege to review a new brand of underwear soon to be hitting the streets.  Junk Underjeans provided us a couple of pairs to test and review.  First impressions were very soft material, very comfortable upon putting them on, and really cool patterns.  I wasn’t too sure about the first pair, as it did not seem to do a good job with holding the boys in place.  Now, having tried the second pair, I think it might have been operator error.  I wasn’t sure about the zipper fly combined with the internal pouch and how it all worked together.

What happened with the first pair was that it seemed to stretch out and not keep everything secure.  I am sure my exploration of the ins and outs of the undies did not help matters.  I was a little concerned by this until I tried the second pair.  On the second pair, I did not check out or explore its features, but wore them as one probably should.  I put them on and away I went.  Everything fit perfectly, stayed in place, and they were extremely comfortable the entire day.

My wife loved the second pair, too.  She liked the look of them with the silver dots on the sides, the zipper, the way they conformed to my body, and pretty much everything else.  With that in mind, I would have to say they are great undies and will be enjoyed by all!

Of all the types of underwear out there, from the strange styles to bold and florescent colors, the only thing that holds true for me is that jockstraps are the staple of my underwear collection. For the last six years, I have slowly increased my underwear collection and my assortment of jockstraps has been the biggest grower of them all. I have over 60 jocks of various styles and colors in both categories of fashion and athletic jocks. Without a doubt, I can say whole-heartedly that jockstraps are for more than just sports gear. There are several good reasons why I feel jockstraps are great for everyday wear.

Safe-T-Gard Patriot JockBike Swimmer Jock White

First, jocks give you all the support you would find in briefs or boxer-briefs if not more. Actually, I think they give more support than a typical brief or boxer-brief. With a jockstrap, the design is mainly focused on the pouch since a jockstrap is about 95% pouch, where as, with a pair of briefs or boxer-briefs, the pouch isn’t the only thing that has a designers focus. From personal experience while playing numerous high school and college sports, a jock is the best way to go when you want to have the maximum amount of support for your junk.

AC Sports Mesh Jock Light Blue 1Joe Snyder Jock Red 3Psycho_Green_JSresized

Second, I believe another great benefit of a jock is that it only has enough material to perform its specific job. There is no excess material like there is with briefs and boxer-briefs. This not only allows for increased freedom of movement but also reduces/eliminates the material from bunching up or riding up on the wearer. I am sure most guys have had to adjust their boxer-briefs when they ride up on them and bunch up around their upper thighs and hips. It’s not comfortable at all. Besides the freedom of movement, there is also the added breathability. When playing any sport at all, you want to be able to stay cool and reduce the amount of material on your body that would soak up and hold onto your perspiration as well as your body heat. While living in both Washington D.C., and now Atlanta, I’ve found the less you have on the better when it comes to temperatures that can get up into the hundreds. I think if I had to choose between wearing a jock under a pair of dress slacks and briefs, I would choose the jock hands down. I would stay cooler while going about my daily routine.

The factors I have listed thus far are strong reasons why I believe jockstraps are great for everyday wear. But there is one more I personally think is worth mentioning. It is the hot/sexy factor! I think that jockstraps are sexy and I think there is something hot about having something on that gives you the support you need during daily activity and, at the same time, feeling enticing. The leg straps on a jock do a great job of framing your rear and setting up a great view for the lucky person getting to see you in them.

N2N Net Jock White

In the end, it’s a combination of both function and fashion. A jockstrap gives you the maximum amount of support any guy would need during the day, doing any number of activities, and a jock also has a sexy factor to it. It accentuates and leaves things to the imagination if you aren’t wearing one of the jocks available these days made of mesh or sheer material. In that case, you are leaving nothing to the imagination and bearing it all to see.

I have another review for you guys. I very much enjoyed this review because I have made N2N Bodywear one of my top favorite brands! This time our friends at N2N sent us their Cotton G-String to review. I have a size large. If you are interested in this revealing item, make sure you check out the N2N website where you will find a large selection of color choices in this particular g-string.

CottonGPop09A

At first glance, the N2N Cotton G-String seems like any other standard g-string. It has a modern “less-is-more” design. I love this style of design since I want the support but not the unwanted extra material and bulk.

I became aware of two things while wearing this thong. Firstly, it fits well and molds to the shape of the wearer. This gives the feeling that you aren’t wearing anything at all. Secondly, the material and the way it was constructed make it very comfortable so that you hardly notice the rear string. That, I believe, is the most important factor in finding a good thong….whether or not the rear string is noticeable and comfortable for daily wear. As I have mentioned in previous postings and articles, I am more a fan of the Y-back designed thongs. This T-back design, however, works well. The folks over at N2N did a great job on this one!

CottonGFull09CottonGPop09B

I feel that this thong has a great look. The design and cut is solid which adds in how well it hangs on a guy. I wore this thong for a full day and found it very comfortable and not irritating in the least. I did not have a chance to wear it to the gym. Maybe I will the next time I choose it from my collection.

In conclusion, the N2N Cotton G-String is a revealing and sexy thong that should be a part of any guy’s underwear wardrobe. I give it an overall rating of 5 on a scale of 5.

It is briefs time and I’m trying out a pair from Priape Wear called the Bruce Brief. This brief is especially stylish for the upcoming summer months with its tropical pattern. This is another exciting brand carried by our friends at The Poster Hut here in Atlanta, GA. If you find this review interesting and want to slide these summer briefs over your rear, you should pay a visit to these guys soon.

pw_bruce-big-2pw_bruce-big-4pw_bruce-big-3

The Bruce Brief has a somewhat classic fit and style. I had the opportunity to review a size large in the red tropical pattern. The overall fit of the brief wasn’t bad. My package was well supported and the seat provided for good coverage. I had two issues, however, with the fit. The pouch has a classic style so it didn’t have a great deal of room as other modern designed briefs. Also, the seat rode up and would not stay in place. I know there are several styles available these days that are designed to show off your cheeks, but this style is not a good one for me.

The fabric is soft cotton and the waistband elastic is comfortable. The briefs have a great look and feel to them and are well constructed. The tropical print is very hot for a wild look. I personally love the look of the briefs and wish the fit had been better for my mini-van sized rear. I believe this brief would be great for daily wear, but from my experience, I wanted to take them off and go commando halfway through the day. Alas, opinions vary and so do body types. You will need to check out the briefs yourself and make a judgment call.

To sum it all up, I believe the Priape Bruce Brief is a festive addition to any summer wardrobe. I give it an overall rating of 4.2 on a scale of 5.

I am back again with another review of some great stuff that our friends at Joe Snyder supplied us with. Actually, we didn’t just get one pair to review we got the whole line! This line from Joe Snyder has someone for everyone’s taste. It is the Joe Snyder Exclusive line. And it can only found at Undergear.com. Now reviewing a whole line is a tall order but I aim to please. As I write this review I have already had the privilege of sporting three of the four items in this line. And I plan on wearing making it four-for-four before the week is out.

dscf5040Joe Snyder continues to use quality materials when constructing their underwear and this new line for Undergear.com is no exception. I recently brought you a review of the Joe Snyder Camo Thong and I can tell you they used the same comfortable and stretch material in the Joe Snyder Exclusive line. The fabric molds to your body and gives the feeling of total support without the feeling that you’re constricted at the same time. I think that if underwear can do that then you have found something you have to try on. Our good friends at Joe Snyder supplied us with size mediums to review and like I said last time I am more of a large, but that didn’t stop me from sporting these. The size mediums fit well and still give me the room I need.

dscf4933

Now I need to focus on something unique that has been designed into each style of this line. It is a “lift” system. I am sure you have all seen other lines that have some sort of “lift” constructed into it. Whether it is an internal sling that you have to attach around your package or an opening that allows your package to hang out like a suspensor jock; nothing can compare to what Joe Snyder has done. I have tried out many version of this some work, and some don’t. This one is a keeper! The more important feature is that it’s simple.

Basically you slide on the style you like, whether it is the bikini or the thong and you place your package through the whole. This gives your package its own pouch in the underwear separate from the rest. Once you have placed your package through the hole you lift up the pouch and snap it in place. Now what can be simpler than that? One other brand had something similar, well at least one that I thought enough of to buy and the only difference was that the whole pouch unsnapped. Now this might seem like a great idea. And believe me I have thought about it a great deal. But I feel the Joe Snyder version is much more practical. It gives you the same lift and coverage with the added sexiness, but not a lot of hassle. The comfort and lift of the pouch is the best feature and pictures cannot full describe the way it feels so get one on ASAP.

dscf4971

And finally, the last point to chat about is daily wear. I have worn the trunk, bikini, and the thong since I received the goods from Joe Snyder and I can say these are great for daily use. They are comfortable, stretchy and lift my package up well with no annoying side effects.

So to sum it all up, I believe the Joe Snyder Exclusive line is a crowd pleaser for all. I give it an overall rating of 4.8 on a scale of 5.

Again, don’t forget that this exclusive line from Joe Snyder can only be found at Undergear.com. So make sure to check it out ASAP. The bikini, thong, and trunk range in the usual sizes of Joe Snyder and the jock is a one-size-fits all. You can’t go wrong with a line that has something for everyone. No matter if you are a totally jock fan like me and only occasional sport briefs and trunks, or you are the total opposite. There is something for everyone, and everyone deserves a great “lift” right where you need it.

dscf4985 dscf5007

Hey there! I have another interesting review for all you UnderwearNewsBrief.com fans. The reason why it’s so interesting is for two reasons. First, it is that it’s another pair of briefs. And that is a bit strange coming from a 30 something guy that wears jocks about 95% of the time. The second reason is that the type/style of brief is a bit exotic from the usual briefs I own myself. The briefs are the HOM plume II micro briefs. I reviewed the flesh colored micro briefs in size large.

img_0026-22008Let’s get this review rolling. The fit of the briefs were comfortable. The size large worked well for me. As always, less is more for me, and these briefs pull that off well. The micro waistband is snug and very functional. The material is very soft and almost silk like. As well as a bit sheer. One big plus for me, I very much enjoy sheer and/or mesh when wearing briefs. It gives them a sexy look without revealing too much. The pouch area had a good amount of room. My junk didn’t feel confined. The seat of the briefs had great coverage and held in position all day long. I however did not wear these too the gym, so I can’t comment on their ability to hold up while working out. But I would say the style alone tells me these are not workout gear material. But then again, that call is always up to the wearer.

Overall, the cut and style, along with the high quality materials make this brief one well put-together and very sexy item. But the look is not for the timid at heart. You have to be a truly man’s man to wear this brief. The waistband is micro and gives off the look of women’s underwear a bit. This is compounded by the flesh color. Now this brief is available in black as well. So if you are not a fan of the flesh color you have another option. However, I do img_0027-22008have to say that after wearing this brief I found it to be very comfortable and functional. And the skimpy and sheer look gives it a very sexy look. So I would totally wear this brief again, if someone would be kind enough to pass along a pair in black.

So to sum it all up, I believe the HOM plume II micro brief is a very stylish and exotic pair of briefs. I give it an overall rating of 4.6 on a scale of 5.

Here is a change of pace. Instead of having a review that at least included a thong or a jock this one is solely about briefs. Our good friends at DeadGoodUndies.com have asked us to review the Jockey Sports Stretch Microfiber Mesh Brief. The Jockey brand is an old personal favorite of mine. It was the first brand I eyed when I became interested in underwear. My fascination started with the bikini and string bikini briefs from Jockey. I also love their undershirts. But let’s not lose focus, back to the briefs. As I always do, I wore the briefs for a whole day including a trip to the gym. The briefs I reviewed were a size large. This is a good size for me when it comes to Jockey. The pouch had ample room and the back supplied good coverage. However, the rear seat of the briefs moved around a bit while I was running on the treadmill so I did have to adjust just a bit.

The material is very soft and stretchy, which is great when you are wearing them while working out. The waistband is comfortable and didn’t cause any irritation while working out. The overall fit and design of the brief is functional and very comfy. They also include mesh material along the front-waist area that helps with breathability while working out.

As I have said before, when it comes to briefs I love the skimpy look and these briefs have that look. They have less material that a regular brief but are not the full string bikini brief that Jockey have had in the past. It has both a sexy look but also very functional for working out and playing sports. I personally wish they would add a jockstrap to this particular line of Jockey. I think it would be a hit. But I will just have to hit up our friends at DeadGoodUndies.com for more pairs in other colors.

So to sum it all up, I believe the Jockey Sports Stretch Microfiber Mesh Brief is a great pair of briefs. I give it an overall rating of 4.6 on a scale of 5.
