baskit-simple-review

Baskit is one of those brands that have been with UNB since the very beginning. We have worked closely with them and they have been one of our biggest supports. Over the years we have reviewed them but I was never able to get a pair. Why? Because they never made underwear in my size. At the time I was at least a 40 waist and got up to 42 before I decided to make a change. Now I’m a 36 and working my way smaller. But being 6’4” I doubt I will go much below a 34.  So, when I now get a chance to review them I was super excited. I have read the reviews the guys here did and for the most part they are all positive.

The pair I’m reviewing is the Baskit Simple brief. As the name suggest its “simple” but  not plain. I have a philosophy that sometimes you need a simple pair of underwear. Maybe you want something that you can wear under a suit or jeans that isn’t too crazy. This line will be perfect. You can get a white pair but they also have colors so you can show your personality. Places this maybe an advantage is going to the Doctor, the gym or somewhere your underwear is going to show. I know we have readers who will wear anything in these situations but not all are that free spirited.

The Simple brief is available in five colors and made out of  96% Cotton 4% Elastane blend. It is not a pair that fit me super tight but gave me great support. It also has a pouch but it’s not too defined. This to me wasn’t a bad thing but I typically go for underwear with a defined pouch.  I didn’t hold it against the pair. It fit pretty well and held up. It didn’t loose the shape or cause any issues through out the day.

I wore this pair on a weekend, so you don’t get the typical office review. I had a day shopping and hanging out with friends. My biggest worry was if it was going to hold it’s shape. Knowing Baskit the way I do, I didn’t think it would loose it’s shape, but you never know. Especially with a pair that is higher in cotton. As the day went on the Waistband fit me very well with no binding or rolling. The brief itself also held its shape. Nothing big happened and made it do things it was not designed to do.

One things I loved was the styling. Its very classic take on a brief design. It doesn’t have to be boring. Second thing I liked was the waistband. The signature /baskit/ waistband in grey really set the pair off. Next, I loved it’s in more colors. And not your typical colors, black white and such. Things I didn’t like. There is not too much that is negative about the pair. I would love loved a little more eslatin in the material. To give I big more give.

Pros:

  • Great waistband
  • Classic Styling
  • Available in multiple colors

Cons:

  • Have a material with a little more give

unico-ser-boxer-brief

Unico is one of my favorite brands of all times. So when I go into a new review I always hold Unico up to high standards. In fact, Unico was one of my first pairs I ever paid over $25 for. So my history with the brand runs a long time. Over the years I have enjoyed everything from thongs to boxer briefs. Which for me is rare to like an entire range. So, when I got the SER boxer brief I was excited and a little worried. I haven’t had much luck with longer boxer briefs, but it’s made out of a nylon/spandex material that I love.

I put them on and instantly they felt like a second skin. Meaning I put them on and they just felt amazing on me. You maybe saying, “Tim but you are not a fan of the boxer brief” and you would be correct. Most lose their shape or don’t offer me any support in the pouch. These are just the opposite. They kept their shape and gave amazing support with the famous Unico pouch. The material was super soft too. I have tried a few other pairs of Unico but not sure what made this material so much better.

The day I wore these was the typical at work. A lot of sitting and getting up you do at an office job. As the day went on I forgot I was wearing boxer briefs. The support feels more like a brief, which is a big bonus to me. The only time I noticed them was when they showed below my shorts (yes I’m lucky I get to wear shorts to work), but I don’t think anyone noticed or cared.  The fabric 93% nylon/7% spandex would  breathe and not trap moisture.

0002-13100923-46S2 0003-13100923-13B2 0001-13100923-462

The sizing on these tends to run smaller. They are based in Columbia and as most Colombian brands run a size smaller. For my 36 waist they fit me fine. However, if you are buying them I would suggest going up a size no matter what size you are. So if you are a 32, get a Large or you maybe sorry. Getting a size smaller, you will regret it and they are not forgiving.

What did I like about the pair? Well first is the fabric. It was super soft and fit me like a glove. The longer legs stayed in place and I forgot I was wearing a boxer brief. I loved the blue color as well. The one thing that annoys me most is when there aren’t colors in underwear and it’s just black or white. The last thing I liked is the amazing Unico pouch. It’s really is made to fit a guy. As for what I didn’t like? I can’t think of anything other then make in more colors.

Pros:

  • Super soft nylon fabric
  • Fit me like a brief
  • Great blue color
  • Pouch give amazing support

Cons:

  • Make in more colors

Ultra boxer

Marcuse is going to release a new basic underwear line called ULTRA. As you can see by the pics, just because something says it’s basic doesn’t mean it’s boring. The new line will be available in black, white and grey. I can hear a few of you groan. I am admittedly not fan of most companies that use those three colors . However that said, I think the design is something that will win you over. When I first looked the pics over, I didn’t focus on color but the designs. It wasn’t till I read the email that I realized those were the only color choices.

Marcuse didn’t make them solid grey, black or white. They created a cool waistband that accents the color. One thing I really like is the Marcuse “R” is the same red that is used in the accent stitching. Also, they created a great pouch in the pair. You can tell they put a lot of work in this new line.

Ultra brief white C Ultra boxer B

So these are anything but boring. Marcuse has designed a classic and fun line. Its great to see a company take on a basic line and put their own spin on it. You will be able to find these at the Marcuse site this next week!

They have range from gay to straight guys.

Reasons why this pair is our underwear of the week:

  • A waistband brief that sits like a low rise brief but has the cut of a bikini
  • One of the few pairs of Joe Snyder with a traditional waistband
  • Available in 13 colors including white and black mesh
  • Made out of 80% Poliamide/20% Spandex Lycra
  • Super sexy cut

You can find this and more at the Joe Snyder website.

The Male Basics Chevron Boxer looks like it jumped off the page of an M.C. Escher drawing.  It is definitely one of the more interesting underwear patterns I’ve ever seen, let alone worn.  Caution: staring may cause hypnosis.  Actually, this may have been their intent since they are essentially asking you to hand over your wallet (more on that later).

Joking aside, this is a decent pair of boxer briefs.  Made in Columbia, these are a blend of 93% cotton / 7% spandex.  The material is just slightly heavier (and a bit stiffer) than the other pairs in my drawer which have a higher ratio of synthetic materials.  Sizing of this pair is consistent with domestic (U.S.) size charts.  I wore a medium and it was right on the money for a 32″ waist.

To give this pair a ‘test drive’ I wore these at work for 10 hours and then wore them to the gym… on leg day of all days.  All in all, it was a rigorous test drive.

What I liked: the construction feels solid.  Unlike the last pair I reviewed I expect that these would last quite a while.  I did notice that the label recommends ‘hand wash delicate’ and ‘do not tumble dry.’  Let’s think about that for a second.  Does anybody really have the time to hand wash and hang dry anything that they wear?  If that’s a pre-requisite for making a $28 pair of boxer briefs last then I would be concerned.  I ran these through the wash and dryer and it didn’t seem to have any adverse effects, at least not on the first try.

Everything held up and stayed put over the course of the day.  No significant creeping and no sagging at all.  The legs did creep up a bit just from repeated standing/sitting.  But given that these have full legs that is par for the course.  I don’t think I’ve ever owned a pair that didn’t do that.  Overall, their performance in this regard was very good, especially considering that they are mostly cotton.  Hanes and FOTL would be all over the place if subjected to the same test drive.

Setting aside the print pattern for a moment, I am happy with the overall look of this boxer brief.  The stitching and use of colored piping provides some interesting highlights and gives the pouch a bit more shape.  Aesthetically, they are very pleasing.

What I disliked: the printed pattern is not my favorite.  That’s just me, I’m not too flashy.  Male Basics does offer their boxer brief in lots of different colors, but there is a cost differential.  The solid color pairs run $2 – $4 cheaper than the Chevron pair. The implication being that these are not interchangeable but are in a class by themselves.  From perusing their on-line catalog it appears that all of their boxer briefs have the same or similar construction.  If that’s the case I would be tempted to go for one of the solid color pairs instead.  But hey, if you like the pattern go for it.

The weight and rigidity of the material (again mostly cotton) is a bit more than I’m used to.  This difference had the effect of making them feel slightly more snug than if they were made from a lighter weight material.  It wasn’t uncomfortable at all, just took a little getting used.  This is a very small critique though in the grand scheme.  Overall I was pleased.

I realize that in the world of high-end underwear that $28 for a single pair is not uncommon.  After all, we are talking about limited production numbers that are not large enough for economies-of‑scale take effect.  But I can’t help but feel that they’ve over-reached with this price point.  I don’t see myself ever paying that much (in 2013 dollars) for any single pair of underwear.   But hey, if supply and demand allow them to charge this then who can blame them.  I wonder if I’m in the wrong business.

To sum things up:

Pros

  • Very sturdy construction
  • Held up well over the day, giving good support

Cons

  • Feel a bit rigid
  • They charge a premium for the chevron pattern

N2N is a brand that prides itself on creating underwear that will make any man feel special.  From unique styles to body hugging fabrics, their underwear always makes a statement.  I have loved them since I got my first pair 7 or 8 years ago.  So it was a no-brainer for me when I was asked to review the N2N Power Mesh Brief.

When I put on new underwear, the first thing I do is go take a look in the mirror.  If I don’t think something looks good on me, no matter how comfortable and regardless of whether anyone else will see me in them, I’ll never wear them.  Of course, I knew I would love how the Power Mesh Brief looked.  From the waistband that is emblazoned with the N2N logo to the profile accentuating pouch, this brief does everything it can to make you look like you stepped out of an underwear catalog.

The day that I wore this brief was particularly long for me.  8 hours at the office followed by a few errands and then an hour and a half dance class.  This brief does an exceptional job of keeping everything exactly where it is supposed to be.  The pouch is defined by a horizontal seam underneath that lifts and pushes the pouch forward, so there’s no feeling of being squished flat.   Guys are supposed to have a bulge in their pants; this brief makes sure that you do.   As I said, I took a chance and wore them while I took a dance class that evening.  Usually I wear something a little tighter for class so that nothing moves around.  But that trend may have come to an end.  The construction of the pouch kept everything in place, and the mesh fabric did a great job of keeping me cool.

I received this brief in a size medium, which perfectly fit my 31” waist.  N2N sizing is dead on for US sizing.   The brief is a mesh fabric that is 76% micro polyester 24% spandex, and is available in black and white, both with the red waistband.  This super stretchy combo creates a second skin, so all you shy guys out there beware.  If you happen to change clothes at the gym wearing these, nothing will be left to the imagination.

Pros

  • body hugging fabric
  • wicks moisture very well
  • accentuating, comfortable pouch

1010527_583119808378191_1713781659_n-1Joe Snyder over the last year has become one of my favorite brands. This was all because of the Pride Frame line. It just fits me so well. So, when I was at Magic and got to talk to Jose he gave me a heads up on this line. He told me that it was going to have a waistband and a bigger pouch!

I have heard a complaint from people who read the blog that the pouches can sometime run small. This line should hopefully make that easier and fit more guys. I think they did a great job on the pride frame in the pouch department.

This line consists of a Brief, Jockstrap, G String, V Thong, Boxer and Mini Shorty. They are all available in White, Black, Red, Turquoise and the traditional White Sheer and Black Sheer. I am sure if they do well we will see more colors in the line that Joe Snyder is known for, but it’s a great start.

You can find these at retailers now or on the Joe Snyder Website. We think you should definitely check out the new line.

baskit-simple-trunk

The pair of underwear I am reviewing is the Baskit Simple Trunk in Deep Red.  The red fabric isn’t really a deep red.  The coloring is more of a reddish pink with more of a red tone.  The trunk has a contrasting purplish waistband and piping along the seams.  The Baskit logo is sewn into the waistband and sits centered above the front pieced pouch.  The waistband has a metallic sheen to it.

After trying them on, the waistband is comfortable at nearly two inches in width.  The slight pouch was conforming and defining with a nice wide stitch running the length of the pouch from the waistband to the crotch.  While this is a trunk, it felt more like a boxer brief with the length of the legs.  It seems like most companies are not in agreement as to what defines a trunk and in this case I suppose the lack of a fly front is the defining factor.  The trunk was pieced together in multiple pieces to create the pouch and rear to provide a better fit and make it more conforming.

The pouch seems to pull the goods up and push everything forward.  This trunk comes in several colors (yellow, red, peppermint, blue white) that most anyone would enjoy.  This is my fourth or fifth pair of Baskit underwear and I highly recommend them for anyone.  Baskit generally runs a special on Tuesday with items for 10$ or less.  Just visit their website and look at the current specials.

s1400_simple_trunk_f_peppermint_1s1400_simple_trunk_b_riv_blue_1 s1400_simple_trunk_s_deep_red

While wearing this pair of trunks, I went shopping over a five hour period with lots of walking, bending, and shopping for home decor.  After all of that shopping, I taught class that evening.  It was a typical day for most guys.  The pair fit well, looked good, did not bunch up, and did not ride up.  This pair of underwear would be good for a night out on the town or everyday wear.  I would consider wearing it as workout wear, as well, even though it is cotton and I tend to prefer something light and airy for my workout gear.

I received a size large in this trunk.  This size should cover a 34-36 pant size.  Sizing was true to size as I am a large in the vast majority of underwear.  The company tells you that the L is a 34-36” size.  This pair can be found for around 22$ on most websites.

I enjoyed the color combination, the metallic purplish waistband, the purplish contrasting piping around the legs and highlighting the pouch, the front seam, and the way the pouch fit.  96% Cotton and 4% Elastane fabric combination makes this a stretchy and conforming pair of underwear that I enjoyed.  The rear seam was another part of the trunk that I enjoyed as it showed off the assets.  This boxer had nothing major about it that I could complain about.  I did find that the coloring was not really deep red, but that’s not a major issue as it looks just like the color the Baskit website shows as deep red.

Overall, this was a nice pair of underwear and I felt comfortable while wearing them.  The design is conforming to the body and creates a nice profile from the front and the rear.  I enjoyed this trunk and look forward to wearing it again.

baskit-america

The pair of underwear I am reviewing is the Baskit America Brief in Super White.  Before trying these on, I enjoyed feeling the soft, thick fabric.  This brief is super white with navy blue and gold trim.  The waistband is nave blue with a wide band of gold around the waist and the Baskit logo in white centered on the front above the pouch.  The waistband is approximately 1.5 inches in width and is a bit taut with a small amount of give.  This sturdy waistband makes sure it has no bunching issues while wearing the brief.  The accommodating pouch is rather high placed which provides extra lift and appears to be meant to be very supportive and create that show off look that so many underwear companies are striving to achieve.  The gold color is a really a mixture of gold and mustard and provides a nice contrast to the navy blue and super white.  This brief makes me feel like I should be on a yacht with a captains hat on.  I’m king of the world!  There are several color options in this brief that all feature the gold trim.  This is my fourth or fifth pair of Baskit undies.  I bought a brief when the company first started selling underwear and I enjoy a jock I have from them.  I like Baskit underwear, in general.

While wearing this pair of underwear, I went about my normal daily activities for work.  I administered assessments to a client and sat and stood approximately five hours while wearing this pair of briefs.  The pair fit well, but was a bit tight, did not bunch up, did not ride up, and was comfortable.

I received a size large in this brief.  This size should cover a 34 pant size.  Sizing was not true to size as I am a large in the vast majority of underwear and this pair was a bit tight.  So, the fit was a bit snug in the waist and after washing and air drying the brief, it is a bit smaller that a large but still very wearable.

 am1100_america_brief_s_white am1100_america_brief_b_whiteam1100_america_brief_f_white

I loved the super white fabric with gold trim to accentuate the underwear and body (95%Cotton, 5%Elastane) as it was comfortable and conforming to the body.  The pouch was slight, but supportive and conforming.  I loved the seam that ran the length of the pouch and ended at the crotch.  The seam was sewn with large stitches and created a nice look.  The gold trim that highlighted the pouch was also a particular favorite of mine.

Overall, this was a nice pair of comfortable underwear.  The design is conforming to the body and creates a nice profile.  I will enjoy wearing them again.

Big Boys Pants 3

I found your brand on the Dead Good Undies Site, I don’t think many US readers are familiar with your brand. Can you tell them about you?

Big Boys was born out of frustration around 4-5 years ago because of how disappointing the undies were out there available to us guys.  After years of putting up with sub-standard undies, constantly re-adjusting ourselves and squashing everything into standard compact undies, my brother and I decided to design our own custom-made pants with a stretchy pouch using the ‘Softest fibre in the world’ – Lenzing Modal, in the style that suited us best with a brand name to be proud of.  Everybody wants to be a Big Boy, right?   The freedom and support the pouch offered us was amazing and the Modal lived up to it’s reputation as being unbelievably soft making our new undies so comfortable and sexy.  We absolutely loved our new pants and decided to share some extra samples with friends who instantly became Big Boys fans too.  It was time for Big Boys to go global.  We have passion in our pants and it’s great to see we’re not alone.  Through the support and encouragement of retailers such as Dead Good Undies we have been able to increase awareness of our brand and underwear collections around the world which has been great.  Sadly the US market is a tough nut to crack with many US retailers content in stocking the same tired old brands.  From the increasing sales and comments we get from US customers it’s clear than you guys are more than ready for something different and you want more than just cheaply made cotton undies made by boring generic brands charging over-inflated prices.  We continue to produce pants primarily for ourselves and our customers rather than for a quick buck so even though we use expensive top quality Lenzing Modal, our retail prices remain lower than our competitors who use inferior fabrics.   Our fabric is 10 TIMES softer than cotton, retains it’s shape and colour better than cotton, and is stronger and more durable than cotton.  We think the extra cost to us is well worth it to have a pair of pants that we are proud to call ours.

You make ergonomically designed underwear, what sets you apart from other brands?

There are many brands to choose from out there, and a few which offer a similar pouch design. However most brands use a cotton/elastane mix which is cheap to produce and loses shape and colour far too easily, and with customers regularly being charged $15-$30 for these brands we feel they deserve more for their hard-earned money, especially in the current economic climate.  We use the Worlds Softest Fibre throughout our underwear collections which is sourced directly from the original innovators and manufacturers of Modal – Lenzing of Austria.  There are a few that have taken the leap to using modal instead of cotton, but again they’ve chosen to use a cheaper generic modal rather than source the top quality Modal directly from Lenzing as we do which is silky-soft, extremely lightweight and very stretchy giving you the ultimate sensual second-skin fit.  The ergonomic, anatomical design lets everything hang naturally in luxurious comfort for improved support and a more sculptured appearance more suited to a man’s shape.  Many customers have said it’s like being naked, having that liberating freedom but with a reassuring hug of support.  The breathable fabric also contains absorbent qualities for a cooler experience which can also aid fertility.  We have also had reports that it has transformed the lives of men suffering with psoriasis and other skin conditions due to the cooler modal fabric allowing the groin area to breathe and remain drier; reducing friction and chafing and so becoming flake-free for the first time in years.

Of course there’s also the brand name that people love.  Some guys buy pants purely based on the designer’s name which from a personal point of view I would much rather show off my BIG BOYS waistband than have some vague, meaningless brand or some other guy’s name across my waist.  Brands/Labels are becoming increasingly important to guys wanting to impress their friends or to attract other girls/guys so whether it’s in a bar, locker room or bedroom the Big Boys label always commands respect.

Do you have a specific audience you are after or all men in general?

All men wear undies so we have no specific audience, every guy can be a Big Boy.  We’ve found that the 18-35 year old guys are probably more adventurous but we receive orders from all ages, shapes and sizes and the comments we receive are great from all kinds of guys throughout the world.  Even my 13-year nephew wears his Big Boys with pride and his school friends and football team have been converted to the comfort of Lenzing Modal.  He’s quickly becoming our top little salesman from his team mates .  By using the stretchy modal fabric it allows us to offer a ‘One Size Fits Most’ pouch design so whether you’re a compact guy, regular guy or larger guy the pouch will support your twig n’ berries in smooth, soft, luxurious comfort.  Why squash your bits n’ pieces into pouch-less unisex style pants that could as easily fit a female figure?  Men are anatomically different and need extra room, comfort and support.  Let’s face it, it’s on our minds most of the time so lets treat it to a bit of luxury hey.   As I said, we initially made undies for ourselves so it’s great to find that so many others have been searching for the same thing for years.  It’s nice to know we’re designing undies that other people want too and we hope to continue giving the public what they want.

With the amazing fit have you thought of doing swimwear?

We have a lot of ideas and samples in the pipeline which do include swimwear.  We want to get the designs right and so far thankfully the feedback we’ve received from our focus groups have been encouraging.  We have to get the balance right between staying true to our brand and also be conscious that our swimwear will be displayed on public beaches and communal swimming pools with families so a more subtle design than our underwear collections has been adopted.  They still look great though and the various styles should be available for Spring/Summer 2014.

What trends are you seeing in men’s underwear?

Men are becoming increasingly aware of their appearance and spending more time on their looks, physique, and fashion.  The days of boring passion-killing Y-fronts are long gone, and guys are now far more adventurous and more conscious of male grooming.  Having said that, there are some guys who are still unsure of the pouch design but based on the positive feedback we receive from customers and reviewers, and the amount of returning customers it’s clear that guys are embracing change and once they’ve tried the pouch-design undies and experienced the freedom, comfort and support they just don’t want to go back to standard undies.

What is in store for Big Boys Underwear in the next year?

We have lots of ideas and designs for later this year and next year which have yet to be finalised but it’s an exciting time ahead.  I don’t want to give away too much as they are still in the development stage but we have designs for a new alternative collection to our current Next Generation collection and also developing our brand in other avenues.  I’d like to offer all your readers a chance to get their hands on some Big Boys with a special 15% discount by quoting TIM as the discount code on our web site as a thank you, I know you’re a big fan Tim and we really appreciate your support.  If your readers can actively encourage some US retailers to try something new and stock Big Boys in their stores instead of the usual cotton clones, it would result in cheaper shipping costs and faster delivery times for US customers, although it’s still pretty fast from the UK thankfully.  I think guys in the US are more than ready for something new so maybe people power can make this happen.

We’re keen to develop our brand and improve our products so we always welcome suggestions and comments from our customers and hopefully the Underwear News Briefs readers would also like to comment on how we can improve our products.  Keep checking our web site (www.BigBoysPants.com) or follow us on Facebook (www.facebook.com/bigboysunderwear) and Twitter (@BigBoysUndies) for regular product updates and special offers.

Thanks again Tim, keep up the good work my friend.

We would like to thank Andy for taking the time to answer our questions. Make sure you got check it out. I also know a few of you may notice the different spellings. Since the big boys are in the UK they have some different spellings

Today’s Underwear of the Week is the Big Boys Pants Thong. We continue our trend on finding underwear not either widely known or available in the U.S. Big Boys Pants is the brand we choose this week and they are based in the UK. Known for their really great underwear made out of a super soft modal blend.

Big Boys Pants is a brand I reviewed a few months ago. They are made with a great pouch that is perfect for those who need some extra room in the front. All their styles have the signature Big Boys pouch. Even former staff member Brandon would approve of these!

Reasons this pair is our underwear of the week:

  • Amazing pouch made for all guys. Ergonomically designed
  • Made for the guy who wants some extra freedom in his undies
  • Available in 7 great colors and three waistband colors
  • 95% Modal – 5% Elastane
  • Available for £12

Find these and more undies at the Big Boys Pants site – http://www.bigboyspants.com. We also will be running an interview with them this weekend.

I have seen your profiles on Today Show and Good Morning American and your story is truly inspiring.  You have over come a lot in the last few years, what was the biggest help in cover coming the challenges you had the last few years?

Hey whatsup sir how are you doing thank you for having me on your blog today.  To be honest with you I really wasn’t doing anything except running away from all my problems with my alcohol. That is until almost 10 months ago. Things happened in my life, things got put in front of me that prohibited me from drinking. Been sober ever since. Now I love my life wouldn’t change a thing about it 🙂

Our motto here is “real guys, real underwear”, we posted one of your pictures from Tom Cullis on our Facebook page _MG_1027and the response was overwhelmingly positive. You look amazing, and aren’t the typical underwear model. What made you go into fitness/underwear modeling?

Ha! Wasn’t my idea! Tom Cullis and I go to the same gym. We where there one day at the same time, and when he saw me he said to me “You look HOTT! Have you ever modeled?”

I got in front of a camera for the first time ever with him. He said I was a natural. I said “No, I’m just being me man”. That’s all I have ever been. That’s all I ever want to be. Just me.

What response have you seen about your pictures that have recently been seen all over the net?

I’ve received multiple different responses from people. I’ve gotten some people who appreciate how I look.  And then others who are inspired, who are trying to better themselves daily, like I am

With all the recent visibility and publicity what has been the best thing that has happened to you?

I think I have reached, been given the opportunity to reach, more people than I EVER thought possible. For that, I am so very grateful

You look amazing in your pictures, what type of work out do you do?

A lot of High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) workouts, then a lot of cardio, then a healthy balanced diet. A normal sleep schedule helps more than you might want to give it credit ha

What are your plans for the future? Are there any brands you would like to model for?

Be happy,  stay healthy, and find balance in life. Those are my life’s goals

I never thought I would ever be doing all this, so its not like growing up I had big dreams of different underwear I could wear in magazines haha 😉 That being said, I would LOVE to work for Nike. That is one of my biggest goals currently

Thank you very much for having me on your blog sir!

When I first received my pair of Pikane Biologic Piping Briefs in the mail, I wasn’t so sure about what I saw. They appeared way too small for my size, used a strange combination of colors and felt a little bit weird. I hadn’t tried any other pairs by the brand, and heard good things, so I figured I’d give them a whirl. This particular style comes in three colors–I tried the purple/grey combination.

Before writing this review, I wore the pair for a fairly normal day for me. I rode the bus 45 minutes to work, sat in my office working all day long and then wore them as my pajamas for a night’s sleep. Though I didn’t really have an “active day,” I think this pair would hold up really well regardless of what you’re doing, because the material was so lightweight and comfortable.

I have a 29-inch waist and got a size small. I found the pair to be true-to-size, but definitely on the smaller/tighter end of the scale. They’re also fairly stretchy. The sizing is Columbian..

Overall, I really liked the feel of this pair against my skin, which really surprised me. They’re 100% polyester and I almost never go with that. The material was extremely breathable. My heritage leans heavy on the Italian side, so I can sweat profusely on a typical day. I didn’t experience any of that with these. They also fit surprisingly well–not too tight as I had initially thought they would be when I received them. I think the look is what could use the most improvement. Though the purple-gray combination definitely grew on me, I found both the pattern and the waistband to be a bit cheesy.

Though I initially thought that this pair wasn’t for me, after about 24 hours of wear, I was presently surprised–the fit was perfect, the material comfortable and the look fair. They also passed the boyfriend test–I showed them to him at the end of the day and he thought they were great. To sum up:

Pros:

  • The fit might run a bit small for some folks, but overall Pikante’s Biologic Piping Briefs are true-to-size
  • The material makes this pair a great choice for any type of day–active, average or just lounging around

Cons:

  • The waistband for me was a little to cheesy. I’d like to see them remove the pepper that makes the ‘i” little guy that makes the “t” in Pikante. I saw on their website that they offer several styles with different waistbands
  • The design / cut was a little too sexy for my personal taste

And here are my ratings:

  • Daily Fit — A
  • Sizing — A
  • Construction/Materials — A-
  • Styling — B
  • Daily Performance — A
  • Overall — B+

Clever furnished this pair for review.
