This is a review of the N2N Bodyewar campfire brief in moss green. My first impression was of the color—a muddy green—which was not my favorite but it was reminiscent of military colors and seemed to go with the rainy weather. The brief is made of 100% cotton with ribbed thermal knitting that allows it to expand for a good fit and would most likely keep you warm on a cold day. The stitching is tight and the brief seemed to be well made. When I put it on, the fit was somewhat looser than expected, perhaps due to the ribbing.  As to be expected with N2N, the cut enhances your package but without typical N2N exposure, which can be somewhat more explicit than I would normally be comfortable wearing. Importantly, there was sufficient material for the butt, which I find to be rare among many modern briefs.  Also, the cut seemed to emphasize and outline the buttocks, about which I never complain. Strangely enough, there is a small half-sized fake fly that seemed to serve no useful purpose.

I wore the campfire brief all day at work and then for a weight lifting workout prior to washing it. Even though this brief initially seemed to be fuller than I usually wear (bikinis are my favorite), the cut of this low rise brief looked surprisingly good. It does look smaller than a low-rise brief in front and back.  I would call this an extremely low, low-rise brief, so whoever wears it should be comfortable with a low low cut in the front. Unfortunately, the side view has more fabric than one would expect, and it makes the brief look somewhat awkward–like it was trying to be a bikini but just could not make it.

Even with the weight lifting workout, the campfire brief did not ride up with wear and the cotton fabric breathed well. Both my package and buttock felt comfortably supported without feeling restrictive or tight. Whenever I went outside, the thermal fabric kept me feeling toasty warm.  I am not the biggest fan of the silhouette, and the moss color was not my favorite but it is also available in navy, white (“natural”) and grey. All in all, it is extremely comfortable brief and perhaps perfect for a cold rainy winter day.

Pros:

    • Enhancing cut in front and back
    • Sufficient space in front and back for those well-endowed
    • Ribbed, thermal knitting
    • Comfortable all day in work and play
    • Good for cold weather

Cons:

    • Lateral silhouette not as attractive
    • Moss color not appealing

2012bestof

2012 is coming to a close and I asked some of the guys on the site what was their favorite pair from last year. Some maybe we reviewed and others are ones that were purchased. But it was a great year for undies!

Alex – My favorite pair of 2012 are the Andrew Christian Almost Naked Air Jock. This super comfy pair of underwear took one of my favorite briefs, the Almost Naked, and made them better by taking off the butt. I don’t know if it just makes me feel sexier or is more comfortable but matting these briefs with a jock is absolutely amazing. Come 2013 more brief/jock combos will be making their way into my undies drawer.

UNBTim – My Favorite pair this last year is the Joe Snyder Pride Frame Bikini. This was my very first pair I have ever had of them and the fit and feel was amazing. I loved the pouch and the way they fit all day! They are truly amazing pair of undies. I have to mention the N2N Bodywear Air Trunk as my other favorite. This is because they are so breathable and lightweight. N2N Did something really amazing with the air line!

theamazingT- Andrew Christian Almost Naked Brief in Turquoise. I consider this my 2012 pair because I didn’t own any of the Almost Naked briefs until I started working for this site last winter. After having the Almost Naked brief in my collection, it very quickly became my go to. Whether I just wanted a comfortable pair of undies to lounge around in, or I wanted a sexy bulgy pair to wear out on the town, the choice ended up coming down to my AC Almost Naked’s every time. I now own multiple pairs from the collection, with different colors and cuts, but these will always be my “first love”..

MrShane-I purchased a Baskit Jock in olive green this last year and I absolutely love it. It is no secret that I am a major jockstrap fan as I have about 25 of them and wear them at least three times a week. Well, the Baskit jockstrap is one of my favorites. It is extremely soft and comfortable. The pouch is adequate in size without being confining while being supportive and the waistband and leg straps are both soft and comfortable. I love the Baskit logo in the contrasting olive green color on the bright white waistband. There is nothing about this jockstrap that I can find at fault. I love it!

UNBThongGuyObviously Chromatic Collection Low Rise Thong -My favorite thong I got to review this year was by Obviously. It’s probably the perfect thong. Soft material, great design, comfortable pouch and strap. I can wear it all day and forget I am wearing it. It’s hands down the best thong in my col

_MG_0062We are proud to bring you this Brief Distraction. This is a UNB original and features two new models. The model on the left is David and he is wearing N2N Bodywear‘s PX4 Performance X Brief. It’s Underwear of the week and the second week is Thong week. As Brandon has said on the site, every guy needs to try a thong regardless of who you are. We agree and think we should give every underwear a chance. Heck I am even going to review a boxer soon! So stepping out side your underwear comfort zone is a good thing.

We think this thong, the N2N Bodywear Air G is a perfect first time thong. The Air line is one made out of super light weight material that seems like you aren’t wearing any underwear at all. We have reviewed several of the other in the line and all performed great. That means it will be made to fit will be just as great!

Reasons this thong is our underwear of the week:

  • Made from super light weight material
  • Great almost there fit of the Air line
  • Perfect starter thong for the guy wanting to try them
  • Low rise fit and smaller waist band
  • Available in Black, White and Cream
  • 60% polyester/32% Rayon/8% spandex

You can find the the N2N Air G on the N2N Bodywear Site for $19. Also we welcome nominations from readers! So send us your suggestions!

We love bringing you guys great new places to buy underwear. There is a new online store called Designer Drawers. This weekend I got a chance to meet up with the owner this week to talk about their recent fashion show.

The fashion show was held on October 13th as a launch party for their new store. The store is based out of Birmingham, AL and was held a a local bar called Al’s on Seventh. They had 11 models at the sports themed show called “Tailgate Fall Fashion show. The brands they showcased are also the same brands they sell. These brands include Timoteo, Baskit, Pistol Pete, N2N and Skmpeez.

“It was an amazing show with a great turn out. it was held at a gay bar but a mix crowd turned out. It was an exciting night!” said Matt the owner.

They have plans to do another show soon. We will keep you posted! Find them online at http://www.desingerdrawers.com and find more of the Tailgate Fashion show pictures at their Facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/DesignerDrawers

It is with GREAT happiness I write to you about the Galaxy Wrestler singlet by N2N Bodywear. Now anyone that knows me intimately will be able to tell you that N2N was my first designer underwear crush. Sadly, being the college student I was, I had to wait until the sales happened, as I gleefully clicked through their 5$ and 10$ digital “bins” looking for my selections.  Those who know me through circus, will know that I usually end up wearing a one piece to train in. I’m a professional aerial circus artist. I need my torso covered or else I’ll get friction burns all over the place. So, I was the lucky reviewer picked to tell you all about a great wrestling singlet by N2N called the Galaxy Wrestler.

The Galaxy Wrestler is N2N’s most covered singlet. The Galaxy is a one-piece tanktopped singlet, made out of 83% Nylon, 17% Spandex. The design features contrast block panels down both sides, with N2N branded in little flat metallic dots down the side. There is no front seam, but there is a back seam, which is the optimal fabrication for a singlet, so your behind gets nice definition to it, while the front doesn’t get the “guillotine” feeling. I really like the design of the singlet, because the seam lines and color block detail really emphasize the chest, and help narrow the waist. There are three-color options for this singlet, black with platinum sides, olive with cream sides, and navy with baby blue sides. Putting it on, as always with N2Ns stuff, you can’t help but feel sexy. They sure know how to make products that feel good on the body.

Since this is an article of clothing I train in, and I train everyday, I happily gave it a test drive through my daily schedule. Putting a singlet on can sometimes lead to some odd arm/shoulder contortions to get through the neck hole without stretching too far and ripping the elastic. The Galaxy is cut open enough that getting your body through the neck hole isn’t that big of a hassle.

My day usually consists of about 1-2 of stretching to gain flexibility and elongate the muscles before training. Then usually about 2 or more hours of actual circus training (trapeze, aerial hoop, hand balancing, acrobatics). Followed by at least 2-5 hours of teaching circus classes.

During my stretching was when I really put the singlet through its paces. Because a singlet is a top and bottom connected, your lower half movements have an effect on your top half garment and vise versa. The 3 areas you’ll notice can go VERY wrong on a singlet/leotard…etc are the front crotch, back crotch and shoulder straps. If any of your forward or backward bending body movements make it feel like either the front of your crotch or your tailbone area are being sliced by the seam of a singlet, it doesn’t fit well. Also, you will notice the straps digging into your shoulders to accommodate the lack of room down at your crotch.  Having dropped that bit of knowledge, I am happy to say the Galaxy fits wonderfully. It feels snug, without chafing, but doesn’t feel baggy either. Goldilocks’ hunky brother would be happy to wear this.

The fabric feels great, it manages sweat very nicely, it fits snugly (and looks sexy), and is designed well. I am proud to not only to add this to my collection of training clothes, but it’s probably my favorite now too.

Pros:

  • Great fit
  • Good color choices
  • Sexy design

Cons:

  • Kinda pricey, but the fabrication is quality.
  • I wish I was sent all three color options to review 🙂

The weather has started getting a little cooler here in Atlanta (believe it or not).   Soon we will be into Fall and then eventually for what we call “winter”.   Just cold enough for most Southerners to go into hibernation and stay indoors for a couple of months.  And for those of us who love to be outdoors no matter what the weather, it’s the season of hot men in running tights.   I run year-round, so I own several pairs.  Worn with a long sleeved t-shirt and running shoes, it’s the perfect combination of just enough and not too much clothing to keep me warm on those blustery days.  I received the PX Runner athletic tights from N2N Bodywear in a size medium, and although it’s not quite cool enough to wear them for my morning runs I gave them a try one day while working out in the fitness room where I live.  These tights are multiple fabric; the solid fabric is 79% recycled polyester and 21% spandex, the mesh fabric is 96% micro polyester and 4% spandex.  Super stretchy and form fitting, the standard that N2N is known for, these tights are not for the faint of heart.

The first thing you notice about these tights is the pouch front.  True to form, the pouch is designed to accentuate your god-given parts, and leaves nothing to the imagination.  And I do mean nothing.   Anyone who sees you in them will know just exactly what you are working with down there.  As daring as I tend to be, I’m not sure I would ever be able to wear these out running unless I wore shorts over them.   I caught two of my neighbors who happened to be in the fitness room stealing glances; lord only knows what they thought of my attire.  I do love the way they look though.  The different colors of the accent fabric and the mesh portions almost create a natural definition of the leg muscles.  And as I worked out I didn’t get over heated since the mesh is very breathable.  I did an upper body workout and then ran on the treadmill for 45 minutes.  I have to admit that as I ran I forgot about the pouch and just got into my run.  They were that comfortable.   So who knows, maybe once it’s actually cold outside I’ll give them a whirl on the streets.  That’ll be sure to stop some traffic (just what Atlanta needs, another traffic jam).

These athletic tights are available in three color patterns: black and white with grey mesh panels, yellow and white with black mesh panels, and blue and black with white mesh panels.

Pros

  • great fit
  • breathable mesh panels
  • inside drawstring

Cons

  • prominent pouch may cause some to wear additional layers

The PX Runner was provided by N2N Bodwear and is available at http://n2nbodywear.com for $60.00.

It’s Underwear of the Week day! I am so happy how well this feature has taken off with our readers. The second week is a thong or something really fun. This week it was hard to finding a really fun thong. Last week I had such an easy time narrowing it down to one where, however, this week not so much. I know a few good potential thongs I saw at Magic/Curve but many of them aren’t out yet. So, this had me go back and think of the recent reviews we’ve done in the last few months.

Then one stood out and that thong is the N2N Bodywear L.A. Haze G. It’s the same cut as the Odyssey  thong they discontinued but now with a fun and funky color pattern. This cut is a favorite of our thong reviewer  UNBThongGuy. He says the style is one of the best thongs he’s ever had and he knows his thongs. It’s been my experience as well that N2N really knows how to design underwear for men.

Reasons for making it our underwear of the week are:

  • Super comfortable design
  • Really fun hand dyed pattern fabric
  • Each design is different and individual
  • 90% cotton/10% Spandex
  • $19.00

Find this pair and more at the N2N Bodywear Site! You can always email us suggestions for Underwear of the Week at info@underwearnewsbriefs.com

It’s almost assured that if you’re reading this, you know all about the Jockstrap-how it’s typically made, what it’s basic purpose is, etc. For those that may not, a jockstrap is an undergarment that both covers and supports the male package while simultaneously leaving your behind exposed to the world, or the backside of your shorts and pants. The long story on Jockstraps is that they were invented by a guy who started Bike and the brand’s jockstraps are made very similar to how they were made over 100 years ago. We’ve come a long way since then, and thank heavens for that.

For those of you that haven’t read my evolution into the world of men’s designer underwear, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that I have to evolve when it came to the typical understanding of what a jockstrap is good for. It wasn’t until I got into underwear in the first place that I decided to purchase my first jockstrap. I was doing rigorous circuit training and my trunks just weren’t cutting it in the support department. I opted for the traditional and safe Papi 3-Pack Cotton Jockstraps and thought that’d be the end of my journey. After those passed their sell-by date, my underwear evolution was well under way, and I wanted to keep with the traditional, but seeing all of what I just refer to as “Fashion Jocks” I snapped up some of the 2(x)ist All-Star Jocks as well as some Go Softwear Cotton Lycra Jockstraps. For the most part, I was happy. Not only was I getting the practical support a jock offered me, the nice colors provided an added boost to my self-esteem.

It wasn’t until I decided to start blogging about my underwear collection, and visiting sites like the brilliant Underwear News Briefs and some of the other friendly underwear bloggers’ sites that I discovered that men were actually wearing Fashion Jocks under there everyday clothing. While that should have been more than obvious to me at that point, I am a slow-to-school straight guy, so bare with me. I tried to join the trend back in March, wearing one of my Go Softwear jocks to work and it wasn’t the greatest experience. The thick cotton, that is great for comfortable and supportive workouts quickly became swampy and cramped. I came home, dying to get my jockstrap off, and was resigned to the fact that I just wouldn’t be a jockstrap guy.

A few weeks passed, and as I started showing off my underwear collection, the fact that I didn’t wear jockstraps as daily wear was a negative in two ways. Primarily, it was locking me out of reaching more of you guys (our invaluable followers and fans), but second, (which was an eventual realization) I was missing out on one of the best styles of men’s designer underwear out there! However, I remained frustrated. I wanted to try some more “wearable” fashion jocks, but for the most part, the ones that I was attracted to shaped up to be similar to the ones I already had, fearing they’d fit the same and cause similar problems.

And then, came my “Ah Ha!” moment…

Not long after my failed attempt, I discovered what is perhaps the most brilliant (and in my opinion best) fabric in men’s underwear design today, “Rayon”. A pair of Obviously for Men briefs (which I wore yesterday) introduced me to the fabric’s magical qualities and I was hooked. It didn’t take long for me to put two and two together. Obviously made jockstraps with rayon, and knowing how soft, form-fitting (I’ll discuss this, later) comfortable and most importantly, breathable the fabric was, I decided to try one. Once I got it on, I was in heaven. After wearing it for the day, I finally realized what I had been (knowingly) missing-I knew why so many men loved this style as everyday wear.

I had found the perfect style of underwear for me, and needless to say, I became obsessed. My jock collection exploded and continues to grow when new rayon jocks hit the market that I cannot live without. A jockstrap made with rayon, is the Jockstrap, done right. For those of you who do not know, Rayon is a fabric made from cellulose fibers of bamboo. It’s incredibly soft, and while not the most moisture-wicking, it is still near the top, but what makes it most comfortable is the fabric’s elasticity. While there are several jockstraps on the market that use similar fabrics to rayon, I am convinced that the Jockstrap is at its best when the pouch is made of the stuff.

What we know about all underwear made from rayon, is that it allows your package to sit in its most natural state, hanging away from your body and in front of your legs. While some men may argue that this feature doesn’t give them the support they’re looking for, I disagree. For those of us working 8-12 hour days, a jockstrap with a rayon pouch is the penultimate in all-day comfort because it’s doing the job all underwear sets out to do, but does so in the best way, performing the task without so much as a little reminder of what it’s doing.

While the rayon jockstrap provides excellent support, I think its best part is the fabric’s body-hugging fit. When laying on the bed, it doesn’t appear that there is much to a rayon jockstrap pouch. The pouch seems much smaller than you would think it needs to be, but that couldn’t be further from the truth once you get it on. As soon as you’ve got your package secured into the pouch, the greatest thing happens, you’re done for the day. The fabric molds to whatever natural changes might occur to your package during the day. What I love about rayon in general is that for men like me, who are just slightly above-average between their legs, no fabric on the market does a better job in supporting us without ever cramping our natural “hang.”

Rayon is an expensive fabric, and for companies that produce huge quantity, it’s gets expensive to sell. In addition, its production costs typically mean that rayon fabrics will tend to be monochromatic. Most men prefer cotton jock straps because they come in the widest varieties of colors and styles, and do not get me wrong, this wholehearted endorsement of the rayon jockstrap is not in any way a slam on those designs or designers who do not produce them. A non-rayon design I favor is C-IN2 and their jock design. It has an excellent pouch that is very deep in its contour. Another great designer, N2N Bodywear makes jocks in just about all of the commonly used fabrics in men’s underwear design.

If you are like me, and are either afraid to start wearing jocks as daily wear, or have yet to find one you really feel comfortable enough in to wear for several consecutive hours in a day, I firmly believe the answer lies in the jockstraps that feature rayon as the fabric in the pouch design. I guarantee it will provide unparalleled fit and comfort and will reshape how you once viewed the jockstrap. It’s a design that truly is the Jockstrap, done right.

Anyone who knows me and my love of underwear knows that I love the N2N brand.  They always create styles and cuts that accentuate the important parts while providing great comfort at the same time.  I received the Haze Pouch brief in blue in a size medium.   “Hand spun and dyed”, this underwear is 90% cotton 10% spandex.  And true to N2N, they were a hit with me.

Typical of many N2N lines, this brief has a pouch front.  The pouch provides support and lift, pushing the goods forward more than regular cut briefs.  When I pulled them on,  I immediately knew I would love them.  They felt great.  Throughout my work day I felt like I was almost wearing nothing, the fabric is so soft.  A couple of times I had to adjust the pouch, as it seemed to stretch a little as the day went on.

I love the patterns this brief comes in.  I got them in Indigo Blue; they also come in Sunset Yellow.  The fabric is such that it appears slightly transparent even though it is really not.

Pros

  • pouch front
  • feels good on the skin
  • fun pattern

Cons

  • pouch stretches a little

I wanted something fun for this round of reviews. When I got the chance to choose a lot of the new N2N I decided I wanted to try the Net line. The other guys on the site have loved this line and I wanted to see what it was all about!  The pair I chose was the Net Jock. It’s sexy and fun and made out of a 100% polyester mesh. The sizing as with most of N2N Bodywear is pretty much spot on! They just know how to make undies for men.

I wore these to work. I knew I was taking a risk wearing mesh for a full 8+ hour day. However, having been familiar with N2N for a few years now I knew I could trust them. My main concern with wearing mesh is that sometimes its can annoy you the longer you wear it. This pair didn’t do that at all. I actually forgot I was wearing mesh.  They really moved and gave me really great support through out daily activities.

The one thing I really love about N2N is they make underwear for men. Andrew and everyone there really pay attention to the fit and function of underwear. It’s not something you have to put on, but something you should want to wear!

I definitely am going to wear my jock again. It’s going in my top underwear drawer. I have worn it since, but this time out for the night and no, no one saw it other then me. It would make a great date night pair!

Available in Nude, White, Black and Green.

Pros

  •  Mesh fits great and moves with you
  • Great to wear to work

Cons

  • Not sure you want to wear this to the gym!

This pair was furnished by N2N, and is available for $18 at http://n2nbodywear.com.

As an avid lover of hot underwear, I was excited to receive another pair to review form one of my favorite brands, N2N Bodywear.  Their mission is “To provide the most comfortable, quality apparel to make any man feel masculine, sexy, and confident.”  The Net Bikini is a perfect example of underwear that does exactly that.  I received this 100% nylon bikini in white (which is great since I already own them in black) in a size medium.

My day started earlier than normal with a business meeting for a potential new client.  No one would have guessed that underneath my business suit I was wearing such a skimpy and hot pair of underwear.  The bikini cut creates a pouch that kept me supported and in place throughout the morning, and the mesh kept everything nice and cool, even in the sweltering heat we’ve been having.  I wore them all day and didn’t have any problems with them riding up in either the front or back.

While comfort is definitely a factor in choosing what underwear I wear, I have to admit that visual appeal plays a major role as well.  Whether anyone else will have the opportunity to see them or not.  N2N is known for creating underwear that exceptionally defines and displays your god-given parts.  This bikini does that on several levels.  Aside from being made from a very fine see-through mesh, they cling to the body like a second skin.  I’d say these are better for a private viewing with that special someone rather than in a public setting like a gym.  Unless you are into that sort of thing.

The N2N Net Bikini is available in four colors: white, black, olive, and nude.

Pros

  • • Looks great
  • • Feels like a 2nd skin

Cons

  • • Might draw an odd glance or two at the gym

This pair was furnished by N2N, and is available for $17 at http://n2nbodywear.com.

We enter our second week of Underwear of the Week. As we said in our previous post, the second week of the month will be a thong, or thong related pair! What does that mean you ask? It means we may do something wild outside of a thong, skimpy, mesh or anything along those lines. Remember at the end of the month you get to vote on the pair of the month!

I asked a few people which thong should we choose. With out a doubt everyone said that it had to be an N2N Bodywear thong. It was told to me that the guys at N2N really know how to make a thong that is not only comfortable but fits a man like a glove! The specific pair we chose is the N2N Air G.

  • The Air line is extremely light and perfect for summer
  • Available in 3 colors: Black, Cream and Grey
  • Non binding back strap
  • Supportive pouch.

If you are interested in the Air G you can get it for $19 at the N2N Bodywear Site.

It’s been HOT, not just hot but  strip to your undies hot weather. All across the east record temps have been set and the weather is heading west! With that in mind we thought we would give you 5 pairs that you should own in this heat. They will keep you cool and comfy (well as much as you can in 100+ temps).

We looked at pairs that were breathable, fashionable and has a great fit. We think these fit all those categories. Some of these you may have seen others you may not have!

  • CoolFlex Active Jock w/ Show-It Tech. by Andrew Christian – This one we chose not because it’s in the new Andrew Christian Cowboy video but because it’s made from Modal. Modal is a material that is 50% more absorbent then cotton and very breathable. The pouch has the show-it Technology so it will show off your assets. The rear is a traditional jock design so under shorts you can def feel the difference! The jock is available in Black, Royal and Teal and is $25 from the Andrew Christian website.

  • American Jock Action Mesh Sport Brief – Not everyone is looking to wear a jock daily. Hence why we chose the American Jock Action mesh brief. You can look great in the brief styling but also breathe with the mesh material. The front has a great pouch with great racing stripes on the side. The mesh isn’t extremely see through, it’s a bigger mesh and you can probably get away wearing it to the gym. The materials are 88% polyester and 12% spandex. Colors available are Royal, Red, Black and White. It’s available from the Go Softwear site for $23

  • Baskit  Action Cool Square Cut Brief – We think a variety of styles are key to the perfect summer list. We have big fans of boxer briefs and no list would be complete with out one. This is more of a trunk but  gives you great coverage and support. This pair is made out of a cotton mesh and as the Baskit site says “it will keep you cool no matter “action” you are into!” The low waist band makes it perfect under low rise jeans. Colors available are Green, Yellow, Orange and White. Available for $20 from the Baskit Website

  • Pistol Pete Xpose Brief – We had to put in something super sexy in staying cool in the summer. Hence why we have the Xpose Brief. ATL Briefs just reviewed this one last week on the site (click here to see the Pistol Pete Xpose Brief Review). You think the way the holes are (meaning they are BIG) you would fall out and it would be uncomfortable. However, this pair got a great review and you don’t have to worry about those problems. The holes make it VERY breathable. Worn under shorts you should stay cool all day long. Made out of a nylon spandex blend. But how said cool shouldn’t be sexy! Available Black and White for $22 from the Pistol Pete website

  • N2N Bodywear Air Trunk – this last one is my favorite. This one is one I personally reviewed back in June (click here to see the N2N Air Trunk Review)and through at the time it was perfect for summer. The way this pair breathes is AMAZING. It’s so light you barely feel like you are wearing any underwear at all. The one thing that surprised me was that there is no elastic in the legs but it holds it shape! I would actually recommend the entire line (brief, jock, thong). The material is a cotton spandex blend that conforms to your body and breaths very well! Available in Grey, Cream and Black and about $22 on the N2N Bodywear site.

These are just a few choices you should consider during the hot summer! We would love to hear your favorite pair for keeping cool in the summer. Post a comment here or on our Facebook page!
