CD1-14-2One of my personal favorite underwear brands is N2N Bodywear. They currently hold the title of one of my fave pairs of briefs that I own. I was vey excited to be presented with the chance to review their new jockstrap from the California Dreamin’ collection. With all of the new jockstraps on the market, it is nice to keep involved with the traditional style we are all used to. The jockstrap has a great small front pouch that is colorful with greens, yellows, red, and purples. I love seeing that a company can incorporate so much color into such a small space and make it look fantastic. The only fabric on this pair is a small section covering the front and they did it justice. Apart from the color scheme, the fabric is so comfortable. The minute I touched it I knew I would no problem with comfort in the front. The straps of the jockstrap are basic black, contrasting the pouch nicely.

As usual, I take chances with my underwear and wear them for a whole workday. I find it to be quite the challenge and a good test of true love with a pair. When I first slipped it on, I noticed that it hugged me quite tighter than most jocks I have worn recently. The waistband was a rougher material than several other pairs I am used to which I was worried may cause some discomfort. There was nothing major that I noticed throughout the day but the waistband did rub rough at various actions throughout the day. Such as pulling the front down to go to the bathroom. Again, this is small but noticeable. The straps that wrap around the butt did not have the same feeling to me as the waistband. They fit tight and added support which I could feel from the moment I slid them on. As N2N Bodywear says “this jock feels AMAZING under your jeans.” They did not lie! It felt AMAZING! I loved the feeling all day long. It is important to note that the slight discomfort with the waistband would not keep me from wearing this jock again.

I wear a medium and this pair fits true to size. I will say that it felt like it ran on the smaller of the medium side than the larger medium side. I could tell a difference when sliding them on and off but that would not make me buy a larger size. Although I felt it tighter in these cases, I did not think the front pouch was too small and I had enough room and comfort all day. I still believe the medium is accurate.

Thanks again N2N Bodywear for another great pair!

Pros:

  • Soft, comfortable front pouch
  • Pop of color
  • Good, back jock support

Cons: –

  • Rough waistband
  • Tighter fit might concern people with sizing issues

N2N Bodywear furnished this pair for review.

PX6-13-BHow appropriate that I post a review for a boxer brief the same week I post “I hate boxer briefs” Well I don’t have them but hate a section of them. As you will see in this review.

I totally forgot I had this pair to review and decided to wear them on my trip to LA. Which I think partly wore because I saw N2N at the LA Eagle that night for the Hard Heroes party. Which was a lot of fun (except the jet lag). So I put these on when I did the final things to get ready for my flight. I didn’t leave till 5 PM so I had plenty of time. While doing things I did something I haven’t done in a while. I turned this pair inside out. Why you ask? Because the tag just irritated me so much. I thought about taking it off but realized I could just flip them.

Once I had them inside out, they were pretty good. I love the fit of these because they are very tight in the legs, but not too tight. They really breathed with me through out my journey. And the pouch was amazing! I love the pouch they have created and have had very few that I haven’t loved!

These got put through their paces on this day. More so than most pairs I review. Here is the day I had….I get to the airport, get checked in and head to security. The sign said 10 minutes, but it ended up taking more than 35 minutes. I glanced at my watch and had 15 minutes to get to the gate before boarding. I was like “No problem” It’s a short train ride down and I”ll be there. But that wasn’t meant to be! I rounded the corner and the trains in the ATL airport wasn’t working. They were holding everyone up and not letting them go down to the transportation mall. So my 15 minute window was slowly closing. In about 5 minutes they let people down and I could still make it. But the train got one concourse away form mine and stayed there. After 7 minutes, and yes I timed it, I got off the train and started to walk. Well everyone else had this idea had to duck and weave between people.

I make my way over to the concours and basically had to fight my way to the escalator. I get on and head up to the concourse. Which is a good thing because when I get near the top I hear security say “don’t let anyone else up”. After I get up there I realize why, there are about 2,000 people waiting to go down and they are lined up ¼ way down the concourse. I start running at this point to the gate. I have my backpack with my camera, ipad, computer and more. This backpack weighs about 35 pounds. But there is one thing that I didn’t count on. I took my belt off at TSA and didn’t put it back on. So my shorts were falling down. So here I go running down the concourse yanking my shorts up as I go. But I get there right when they start boarding!

Well this pair felt amazing because It never got in the way. The fabric really breathed by the time I got to the gate I didn’t feel like the fabric absorbed all the sweat. I’m sure we have all had these pairs, and then I would have to sit for over 5 hours in a plane, it would not have been good. Turning them inside out was a blessing. If it hadn’t the tag would have just made things worse. So if this pair could stand up to a mad dash to the gate , it would be a great pair to work out or do kickball, tennis or anything else active. This is going to be one of my favorite N2N pairs, I’m actually wearing it again as I type this review (yes its inside out). So this is one of the first times I used an athletic pair in a review situation!

I almost forgot the sizing. I think if you’re a fan of N2N you know your size. They have been consistent. I got a large and I’m a 38 waist now and it fit me fine. Make sure you check the size chart for your correct size.

Pros:

  • Great pouch
  • Breathable Materials
  • Held it shape all day
  • Perfect for an active guy

Cons;

  • The tag was irritating
  • Wish they had more colors than black.

UN53-14-FullIt maybe a shock that one of the pairs I think our readers should own is a trunk. I know I’m kind of the anit-trunk guy. Most of my reviews are briefs and that’s my go to style. However, I think we all need a diverse underwear drawer. I don’t think we should have all of one style.

Over the last few years the Signature line has been refreshed from N2N and has been available in several color combinations. Up until this year I have reviewed every upgrade that has come out. Each time they fit great and have new colors that accent the pouch!

One thing you may notice in both of my picks is that I love a great pouch. I also love underwear that shows it off. I don’t always wear underwear that does but for me it just fits better and I feel amazing when I wear something with a defined pouch. Being on the larger endowment it’s really important to have this extra room!

Another reason I picked this is we all need diversity in our underwear drawers. I’m the kind of person I never want to wear just one thing. I have several favorites and like to rotate them. Plus it gives versatility in your choices. You can mix and wear under jeans or pants.

You can find this at the N2N website

VU6-13-AI have to start off saying N2N Bodywear is one of my favorite underwear companies. The first reason is they make really comfy and great underwear. Second, I love the guys over at N2N. They are really amazing guys. I know you guys have heard me say it before but there are very few bad folks in men’s underwear. It’s a very small community and just really great people.

Usually when we get N2N, I get a chance to try the Signature Trunk, but not this time, the other Tim got it! I was a little bummed but I got to try a pair I have never tried before. That pair is the Vintage Trunk. I believe this is the second year for the collection (but I could be wrong). The vintage line is one made to look like it’s been in your underwear drawer for a few years.

Over the years of UNB I have tried these “pre worn” type of underwear and they always feel great. I was hoping this was going to be the same with the vintage trunk. When I took it out of the plastic it comes , the fabric felt super soft. It made me go “What is this made of?” The fabric is a Rayon/Spandex blend. I slid them on and they felt like I had had them for a year or more.

The fabric wasn’t the only thing I liked about the pair. In the list of top 10 pouches, the N2N pouch is one of favorites. Andrew knows how to make underwear to fit a guy. Granted, I have a larger pouch than most, so it’s the most important thing in undies for me. Some run way too small but rarely have I had them too big. This is just right.

I wore these running around town for a busy day. First, the pouch as mentioned above was amazing and gave me the support I needed. Next, the trunk, while not a favorite, fit more like a brief. Meaning it didn’t ride up or go too far down the leg. It was a very nice cut that reminds me of the Signature trunk like. Lastly, the fabric just felt amazing against my skin. They have out done themselves on this line.

The sizing is spot on. You shouldn’t have any issues with N2N at all. The size chart is pretty accurate. I haven’t ever had any issues with mis-sizing. Actually I haven’t ever heard people who have had issues. If you have let me know.

Pros:

  • Super Soft Fabric
  • Great N2N Pouch
  • Amazing design

Cons:

  • Some may not like the colors since they are more pastel

Ratings:

  • Daily Fit – 9.5
  • Sizing – 10
  • Construction – 9.5

N2N Signature Boxer UN53-14-AToday I have the great pleasure of reviewing the N2N Signature Boxer. When I opened the package and saw that I was reviewing another pair of N2N I knew these were going to be a great pair of underwear, and I was right.

They were black with blue inset panels on either side of the roomy front pouch. My visual QC inspection was as I expected from N2N, The finest quality material and workmanship. The seams were executed perfectly and the fabric was soft and sturdy. The waistband is sporty and fun with that hint of sexiness that N2N always delivers.

The blend of 90% cotton and 10% makes for a great pair of underwear that stretches where it should and stays put where it’s supposed to. N2N always finds the best material for making their awesome underwear.

When I put them on I was pleased with the fit and the look. The front pouch was roomy and super comfortable. There was no binding in the legs or the waistband. When I looked in the mirror I was pleased with how they compliment my butt and legs.

My work day was a busy one with lots of moving, bending and lifting. These trunks never once let me down. I did not have to adjust the legs or the pouch once. As usual, it was a warm day and these trunks breathed and kept me cool with no sticky crotch that you can get with so many other underwear.

I wear a size medium and the sizing was perfect. I often worry that with my thick thigh muscles they leg openings will be tight but these trunks fit like a glove.

Pros:

  • Soft, stretchy but firm material
  • Fun and sexy waistband
  • Great color combination
  • Perfect for all day wearing with no problems
  • Great fit for your butt and crotch

Cons:

  • Limited color options

Ratings:

  • Daily fit – 10
  • Sizing – 10

interview-underwear

I’m starting the mind numbing process of job hunting. I wish UNB was my full time gig! But I must do like most and subsidize my underwear love with a real job! UNB is an amazingly fun distraction from the job hunt process.

If you are a long time reader of the blog you know I had a job interview when the blog started, I put on my tie, dress shirt, pants and looked good then looked down to notice a huge bulge. Now, in many circumstances this would not be an issue and in some instances it would be welcome! However, in a “professional environment” a pronounced bulge is not the image you want. The pair I was wearing was a CX01 in Magenta for a review. I promptly changed the undies to something that was less bulgerific. Which I hated to do because Cocksox really makes me feel great when I wear them.
Underwear should give you an unseen confidence when you wear it. Wearing something super sexy and fun under a suit should be the norm. I don’t think you should ever wear anything you don’t feel great in. Underwear adds the to wardrobe even if no one sees it. One thing I love to do is match my tie and undies. Now I don’t go out of my way to do it but having a few hundred pairs i usually have something that will do the trick.
Flash forward to the present. I am looking for underwear that gives me confidence when you walk in a room but not overly show off everything I have at the first meeting. The pairs that are going in my interview underwear drawer are from N2N Bodywear, Joe Snyder, CK and 2(X)ist
N2N Bodywear Signature Trunk
N2N Signature Line – This is the line that has a great pouch but not overly prominent. It feels great and is one of the few that I enjoy in a trunk. The thing I love about this pair is the fit. The way they designed this fits like a glove and keeps everything in place. I usually reserve this pair for a 2nd interview. Since the first round went great but want something to keep up the energy.
Joe-Snyder-Pride-Frame-02
Joe Snyder Pride Frame – Briefs are my super favorite. The reason I wear this one is the piping around the crotch. It does just what it says and frames your pride. The bright colors from Joe Snyder make this a favorite. No one knows I’m wearing a purple brief or a pink one! When I go on an interview and need to feel a bit more confident this is the go to pair. The fit and feel and knowing I’m in a pink brief takes my mind off the stress
prld.xlg
Calvin Klein Micro Modal Bikini – This pair is all about comfort. The bikinis CK has done over the years have been a staple in my underwear drawer. My favorite pair just got a hole in them and need to be replaced. I will be doing that this week. The fabric feels super soft and they rotate colors but usually can find a black pair. Its got support that isn’t as the Joe Snyder but the modal more than makes up for that. I wear this on an interview I am feeling good about going into, and know I”m more than qualified. (picture from International Jock)
prld-1.xlg2(X)ist Sliq Mesh – This is one of those pairs I”m surprised that I like. I am not a big fan of 100% my lon pairs. Mainly because they have no stretch or give. I like undies that conform to me and my body. The part i love the best is the way this feels against my skin. The first time I put them on I was like OMG these feel amazing. This pair won’t show off a huge bulge but the feeling of the fabric just does something to me. The red pair I have is perfect for interviews. It feels great with out being too distracting and gives a good amount of support. (Picture from International Jock)
You maybe asking why not a jock or thong. To me is about confidence and not being distracted by the undies. As much as undies can give you something extra, wearing something you don’t normally wear can be the opposite. It can make you loose your train of thought and appear like you are not the best fit for the job. So I stick with tried and true pairs.
What do you guys wear on interviews? I know my pairs aren’t everyones and some of you prefer jocks and thongs. Let me know what you wear and why!

jock-fashion-functionJockstraps have been going through a renaissance as of late. Back in 2010 I proclaimed it the year of the jock. Before this most jocks were relegated to the locker room or fetish situations. There were basically two kinds of jocks. The traditional 3-inch waistband or the Swimmer with the 1 inch waistband. The perfect example of this is the Bike #10 Jock. It pretty much came in white. In the 90’s they branched out in to a few colors but the styles stayed the same.

We flash forward to 2010 and everyone started to make them in all sorts of fabrics and colors. In 2014 you can find a jock in any color of the rainbow and in just about any fabric. The design is changing as well. Many companies have taken the jock and made it their own. The perfect example of it is the C-IN2 Grip jock. Not only did they play with the design but they also made it in newer material that makes it perfect for working out or being active.

Each year more and more companies take the jock and put a new spin on it. I didn’t think in 2010 that the trend would last longer than a year or so. I was dead wrong on that. Second, the original jock had been around for decades with out real innovation. Would companies really design new jocks and experiment with fabrics? I really wasn’t sure, but they did and created a really great new category.

Some recent developments in the jock world are:

  • Baskit developed the first hybrid, the Jockbrief –As you know it’s taking a brief and giving it a jock back. This only fueled to the jock fenzy
  • N2N Bodywear created jock swimwear – You may say this sounds strange but the pair was very cool. I have two of them and while I never wore them as swim I have worn them as underwear. They were prob the best made jock I ever wore
  • Bike Discontinues #10 Jock – It was a sad day when I learned from Jockstrap Central the #10 jock was being discontinued. This is a classic that all guys should have in their underwear drawer.

There are too many more to mention. Just about every company has their jock. So no matter what your love you can find a jock in that color or fabric! So which kind of jock lover are you? Are you an old school guy? Or Do you love the new? Or a mix of both? Let us know!

We had a really amazing shoot this year. First off I want to thank our Sponsors, Clever Moda Masculine Underwear, Vuthy Sim Swimwear, Bwet Swimwear, N2N Bodywear, 2EROS and Manus Swimwear. We had a great day to shoot swimwear. Unlike previous years when we had rain and clouds. Our Photographer Ignacio Rivera Jr. out did himself with these pics.

Our three models were Matt, Derek and Martin. You have seen all of them before. Matt has been in two other shoots (Swimwear 2013 and Holiday 2013), Derek (July 2013 Baskit Shoot) and Martin (Holiday 2013) each have been in one other shoot. We def want to work with all of them again soon!

Where to buy:

10172843_10152009427145079_1368873767385691290_nIt’s become pretty clear that underwear brands are not just relying on in-store markets to pump up sales; social media plays a big part in connecting brands to buyers in today’s world. If you’re like me or any of the other guys on the site, you too might be following your favorite brands on Twitter, Instagram and the like. While the steady stream of pictures of barely-clothed men is nice, it is also a great way to find out about the newest styles of underwear that are about to hit the market. And with any luck…it’s also a great way to find out about some awesome sales.

When I came on to the UNB staff page a number of weeks ago, UNBTim told me he was jealous of the fact that I lived in LA, because a few of the great brands we’re use to reviewing are based out here. Of course, Andrew Christian is the first that comes to mind, as he has a few store fronts out here (the West Hollywood store is only about 20 minuets from me). Recently, I began following N2N Bodywear on their new Instagram page (@N2Nofficial) and was happy to find out that its warehouse is even closer to me, about a 10 minute drive away!

Shortly after I began following them on Instagram, they posted about a pre-white party event they were going to be having in the warehouse, with underwear, swimwear and activewear on sale from $5-30. With prices like that, I knew I didn’t have an excuse not to go, especially since it was so close to my house! So midday on Saturday, my boyfriend and I jumped in the car and headed downtown to take a look.

Immediately I noticed how impressive the store front looked; plenty of merchandise in the windows and great looking banners with stunning models. When I rang the doorbell to get in, we were immediately greeted with open arms, literally! Andrew (who I would later find out to be the owner and creator of N2N Bodywear) answered the door, shook our hands and promptly walked us through a tour of the warehouse. We walked through what is the entirety of their distribution warehouse, with rows upon rows and boxes upon boxes of underwear. It was, in short, like I had died and gone to heaven.

Andrew was a gracious host and showed us the backroom where he had laid out all of the boxes of merchandise that was on sale. Underwear was typically $5, swim was typically $15 and active was around $30. We spent about 30 minuets looking through stuff before I finally deciding on two pairs of swim apparel, (stay tuned for some reviews maybe….?) but I honestly could have purchased it all. Not only did Andrew and N2N make it a great buying experience, the sale prices were out of this world and I was thoroughly impressed by all the pieces I saw: nothing but high quality materials and great designs. Andrew hugged us on our way out as well…what a guy! I can’t wait for the next sale!

Be sure to check out the entirety of the N2N Bodywear collection, available online at http://www.n2nbodywear.com/. And follow them on Instagram! @N2nofficial. And as always, don’t forget to drop me a tweet at @UNBPaul, and let me know what you think.

CT1-14-AWe continue our Swim Brief Suggestions. This time we are suggesting one that isn’t going to show off everything you have. Our last suggestion isn’t one some guys would wear. The suggestion for this weekend is the new N2N Bodywear Charger swim brief. This was just released this month!

N2N Bodywear is known for making amazing swimwear. They have everything from the “let’s show it off” to come classic styles. This is prob somewhere in the middle. It doesn’t have the N-hance pouch that N2N is famous for. In fact it doesn’t have a built in pouch. N2N describes this as a” sexy yet modest pair.” I totally agree with this description.

The Charger has a solid color front and a different one in the back. The picture above has blue in the front and black in the back. The other colors available are Yellow/Olive and White/Red. You can see the pictures of all the colors in the gallery below.

If you have never worn a swim brief, N2N Bodywear would be a great first company to try. They make underwear/swimwear for men and how they are built. I have yet to have a pair of swim from them that didn’t fit amazing.

You can get this from the N2N Bodywear site

for $30.

n2n-singletsI am a lover of underwear, obviously. But I also love tight clothing that is sexy to wear and sexy to see/be seen in. One of my favorites is singlets: even though it’s not really underwear I have worn them as underwear and lounge wear.

As loungewear they are amazing. The tightness of them makes you feel warm during a cold night. When I am by myself wearing one of my singlets I feel sexy and comfy. The feeling of the tight spandex is not only sexy but makes me feel thinner. I am not vain, but I love looking at myself in my singlet.

When someone is around, wearing a singlet can lead to an amazing and fun night. “Wrestling” with someone while wearing a singlet is a feeling like nothing else. If you are a straight guy, wear one for your lady. I have talked to the girlfriends and wives of many of my straight friends and they would love to see their guy in one. Singlets are not just for the gay male.

As for underwear, singlets miss the mark. Even though it feels amazing under your clothes and helps slim you down, when its time to pee it’s a chore just to fish yourself out of it. As for trying to do your other business, forget about it.

To sum up, give singlets a try. They are amazing for lounging and fun for some light fetish wear. They come in a huge range of colors, cuts and types of material. My personal favorite brand is N2N. You can see their entire line on their website.

It’s underwear release time! That mean’s its basically Christmas morning for me. I have known what a lot of brands were doing and now I can report on them. This happens two times a year in the spring (March-April) and then fall (August-September). Unlike most companies N2N Bodywear just releases one time a year in the spring so that makes this one extra fun for me.

I had the opportunity to sit down with Andrew, the owner of N2N Bodywear, in Vegas to talk about the new line. I didn’t get as much time as I had hoped with them. This year they showed in Magic rather than a suite. There was less time for me to get worked in, but they are one of my favorite brands and I was glad for the time I got. After the show I got to see the line sheets of the entire collection. So I was excited to see some of the swim and active wear. The underwear has a few new lines but not as many as the swim line!

This is a brief overview of the new collection. This is by no means everything that is new but some of the highlights. We will go into them in more detail on a pair by pair basis.

Underwear:

n2n-bodywear-california-dreamingCalifornia Dreaming – New for 2014. Is a collection who’s colors are inspired by California Available in a jock, bikini, brief, trunk and tank. Colors are red, pink, green and purple.

n2n-bodywear-cotton-classicsClassic Cotton – New for 2014. Have you ever wanted a simple pair of N2N Bodywear? The Classic Cotton is their basic collection. If you ever wanted the great N2N fit in a more classic style this if for you! Available in jock, g, bikini, pouch brief, pouch boxer, boxter, and long john. Colors available are Sunny Yellow, Crimson, Black and White.

n2n-bodywear-signature-collectionSignature Collection – This is one of my favorite collections N2N has created. It has one of the most comfortable trunks ever made. This years collection is made out of a black/blue, white/blue or grey/blue combination. This line still has the same styles.

Swimwear:

n2n-bodywear-lagunaLaguna – For some reason I have really gotten into prints. In previous years I have stayed away from them, but something about this year is making me gravitate to them. The Laguna line of swim is a bright blue/purple print of palm tress, its’ super cool. It’s available in bikini, trunk and jammer.

n2n-bodywear-prime-bold-sportPrime BOLD Sport – Have you ever stayed away from N2N swimwear because you didn’t want to show off too big a bulge? I know it sound crazy since this what N2N is known for, but some want a more conservative cut. The Bold Sport has the traditional cut of N2N swim without a defined pouch. Colors available are BOLD in Neon Orange, Neon Green and Navy. Styles are Sport Brief and Trunk
n2n-bodywear-daredevil
Daredevil – If you want to go to the other end of the spectrum from the Bold Sport, then the Daredevil is for you. The Daredevil is the skimpiest pair of swim they make. It’s a string bikini in bright and vibrant colors. The colors are Fuchsia, Yellow, Purple and Neon Orange.

This is just an overview of the new collection, there is a lot more to see! Head over to the N2N Bodywear site.
