Has Your Favorite Underwear Changed over the years?

This post is a little past due. I was hoping to post it last month, but with Magic/Curve and then getting a staph infection (which is nasty stuff) I finally get the chance to sit down and write it up.

I got this idea from FreshPair.com. When they did National Underwear Day, they had a figure that 80% of Americans stick with the same style of underwear in their adult life. For instance, if you wore briefs as an adult, odds are you would still wear them at 20 as you do at 40.  This made me think of my own underwear habits. Which seemed to be the reverse of this survey. I’m not saying the survey is flawed or wrong, but it got me asking some underwear friends. They pretty much agreed that they are in the 20% that wear many different things.

If you have read this blog for a while you read how most of us got into underwear and I will go over my story for a quick sec, for those who don’t know. Well, I got started loving undies in my teens, at 13 I got my first pair of bikinis and never looked back. From then on I wore them through high school, and it wasn’t till  about 7-8 years later I wore anything else.  Then I started to wear thongs and jocks, which I loved and then  boxer briefs (which at the time I hated), fuller briefs.

As I get older I definitely try more and more. I see a pair and want to try it. My favorites right now are (granted they are subject to change next month): Pouch Briefs, Bikinis, Briefs, Trunks, Thongs, Jocks and then Boxer Briefs.

I think most people who read the blog and are really into underwear are willing to try more. While the general population is more content on buying the same thing. I hear on twitter, Facebook and more people spending up to $300 on undies and the variety they get is amazing.

I started last month a group of guys that will weigh in on topics in underwear. This was a great post to have them give their opinions on, here is what they said:

Chris:

  • Have you stuck with the same style? If so what is the style you prefer, if not why? i have tended to gravitate towards jocks and thongs.  I have everything from boxer briefs to g strings.  but most days its jocks and thongs.  I love really anything that is kinda sluty where nobody can see (unless i bend over) then it becomes this whole exibition thing..
  • What style did you wear in High school? thongs mostly
  • What style or styles do you wear now? jock and thongs but like bikinis and briefs too.
  • If you don’t stick to one style, what makes you change to a different style? depends on my mood, if i feel more fem i will put a thong on if i feel really butch i will put a jock on.
  • Today i think it will be my rheb jock since we will be traveling, i always wear a jock on long trips….

  • Have you stuck with the same style? If so what is the style you prefer, if not why? I used to wear boxers, but then i started wearing boxer briefs as soon as I got tired of boxers. Later after I started wearing trunks and briefs and now that is all i wear but majority of the time I used briefs now that is all I wear
  • What style did you wear in High school? I wore boxer briefs mostly during high school now till when i was 19 i started wearing briefs as well
  • What style or styles do you wear now? It varies I like many different types of trunks and briefs that is what I usually like buying. I don’t have one specific brand I buy but i have a couple of brands.
  • If you don’t stick to one style, what makes you change to a different style?I change depending on what I’m feeling like wearing, and also depending on the type of jeans i wear so i can be more comfortable

  • Have you stuck with the same style? If so what is the style you prefer, if not why? I fall into that 20% who doesn’t stick to one kind. There is pretty much any kind out there that I would wear or try, and pretty much like. I love trunks, thongs, compression shorts, briefs, boxers…. it just depends on the day and what I feel like wear, sometimes change twice a day depending on if I’m going out or doing something out of the house.
  • What style did you wear in High school? When i was in high school i was really into boxer briefs. But I that is when I started to branch out and try some new things.The first interesting pair i had bought was this silky blue briefs,they were wide mesh in the back, and the front pouch was sold blue. I’ll never forget them.
  • What style or styles do you wear now? Lately I have been buying a lot of short leg trunks.I have always loved this style most of my life. I find them extremely comfortable and a perfect form fitting style. Also right now I have been trying to find underwear that does not have a tight waistband but will also be form fitting every where else, sometimes I find waistbands to be a pain in the butt.
  • If you don’t stick to one style, what makes you change to a different style?I love all different types of fabrics, so the main reason why I buy different styles is the design all the way. As long as it catches my eye I take it from there. But I also look for something that I find sexy, or I think my partner would find sexy. If its got a unique twist to it, I’m all about it.

Review: C-IN2 Bamboo Punt

I have to admit that this is my first pair of C-IN2, and I’m ashamed to admit that, because I’ve been missing out on some great underwear. Probably the biggest thing is the form factor. The Punt. When I first got these, I thought they were a brief, then when I put them on, I figured they would go down to a boxer brief length, but the ended halfway. It’s something I’ve never seen before, and it’s something I would like to see much more often.

The Bamboo has quite a few ingredients, the largest of which is the 69% Rayon (The Bamboo) then the usual 29% Cotton, and 2% Spandex. All those come together for a quite comfy pair, something that always finds itself back to the top of the draw much faster than the other pairs. The way they look is also another amazing thing too, the simplicity makes them seem so much more dashing, a definite plus.

Like all the other pairs, I put them through the daily test, and they passed with flying colors. They don’t ride up, they feel uncomfortable at all, and there is great front and rear support. The rear support is something to talk about too. It’s great, it’s really, really comfortable, and if you’re as concerned about the rear support as you are about the front, you’ll be pleasantly surprised. To sum it up, if you’re looking or something different for your drawers, not to mention different for your body, give the Bamboo Punt a try, you won’t be disappointed.

Review: Equmen Precision Long Trunks

I was really excited when I got these. Our friends at Fresh Pair sent us a few pairs to review. I have reviewed the trunks about a year ago, but was really excited to add these to my collection. I really loved the Trunks. I was hoping for the same with these. The best thing is they match the blue ones I already have, so I can wear them with what I have! So having them matching is a good thing.

I have recently started my own biz, outside the underwear site, so I do a lot of networking and meeting people. Which it never seems to stop, so I need underwear with incredible support. I don’t want to be adjusting things in the middle of a meeting. So, I wore these to a busy day of networking and running around. I wanted to see how well they would do through out the day.

They really are good pair. They are made to give you support and comfort through out the day. These were a perfect pair to wear. They are made out of really good quality materials. The materials consist of Nylon, Micropolyester and Spandex. These ensure that the fit is great and hold up over time.

A note that they are pricey but in my opinion they are def worth it. Its great support through out your day. So if you are going to be active I would say definitely invest in them. They won’t let you down.

Review: Unico Boxer Copa Corto Celda

I was glad when Fresh Pair sent more underwear to review.  This time it was my favorite, UNICO!  Of course, I was overjoyed.  I love Unico!  Did I say I love Unico?  The pair I received was the Boxer Copa Corro Celda, a very bright and fun boxer. When I say boxer, I mean more of a trunk.

The colors and designs made this pair so much fun.  Unico can do really awesome and things with color.  They are not afraid to step outside the box which is what they did with this choice.  It was something I wore under shorts.  Don’t you love it when you wear a pair that puts a little something extra in your step?

I know many of you are probably tired of me gushing about them, but you’ll just have to keep reading.  They fit incredibly!  I love the fit of the pouch.  I don’t know what they do with their pouches, but they just fit me like a glove.  I really forget I’m wearing them.  It’s very ergonomic to my build.  I hate undies with no support and since my first time wearing them, I have fallen in love with Unico’s ability to supply just that.  No matter what style they make, from thongs to boxers, you know it will fit perfectly.

Because these are so awesomely fun and festive, I have nothing bad to say about them.  If you have never tried Unico, you really should!  You will definitely like them and wear them often.  A piece of advice before you buy Unico… make sure you buy a size larger than normal.  It seems to work out best for everyone we’ve heard from at Underwear News Briefs.  They tend to run smaller on sizing.  With that in mind, go shop!

The 8th Annual National Underwear Day launches today and two of the newest names in underwear are making their big debut, Piss & Vinegar and Expose Underwear.

Piss & Vinegar is the new underwear line from the team that started Ginch Gonch.  It is named after an old phrase seething with sarcasm and is a modern, expressive range of briefs, trunks and jock straps.

Expose is one of the hottest brands in Colombia, offering a sporty line of trunks, briefs, thongs and jock straps in sleek fabrics that range from silky, to sheer, to completely see-through.

Creative Director Jason Sutherland says, “A lot of what we offer caters to the guy who likes to express himself through his underwear, so whether it’s bold colors and graphics or a more revealing style, his underwear can do all the talking.”

Piss and Vinegar and Expose are proud to be the lead sponsors of National Underwear Day. Founded by Freshpair in 2003, National Underwear Day is a yearly holiday that gives people all around the country a chance to celebrate what’s hidden the other 364 days. Past festivities have ranged from Times Square takeovers, where underwear-clad models mingled with tourists and New Yorkers alike, to star-studded underwear runway shows.
