We wrap up our 2(x)ist reviews today with the Sport No Show Trunk. Let me preface this by saying, I’ve never been a big boxer brief/trunk guy.  It’s just a preference I have for underwear. I just have always prefered briefs.

Don’t let that scare you off from the review. This pair was really comfortable. It is a rare exception for me to like trunks/boxer briefs. My biggest complaint I have for boxer briefs and trunks are lack support, ride up, and bunch up.

The reason I liked this pair that is wasn’t made to be “loose.” It was made to really hold its shape. This is in part due contour pouch and the blend of 92% cotton and 8% spandex. As I have said in a previous review, there have been very few sizing problems with 2(x)ist.

Much like the jock, I love the waistband. It has the same latex embossed band that jock does and is not boring. If you are a waistband fan, then you will love it.

As for the wearing, I wore this pair to work. Which is a gamble for me. I rarely wear pairs I would be unsure about to work. Because if you hate them you either have to bring another pair or go commando the rest of the day. However, this being 2(x)ist I felt confident I wouldn’t need to do either. I was right, this pair really did great. It held it’s shape, didn’t cause me any issues. Even if you are not a trunk fan you may like this pair.  I am sure you could wear it to the gym or any other activities you want

Pros:

  • Embossed Waistband
  • Contoured pouch
  • Materials blend

Cons:

  • Wished they had a few more colors, only available in blue, white, black and red
Fit: 4.5
Materials: 5.0
Construction: 4.5
Look: 4.5
Daily Wear: 4.5
Overall: 4.6

PAPI 3 PACK COTTON JOCKS HAVE ARRIVED (SORT OF)

We’ve just launched 3 packs of a new Papi Cotton Jock. Unfortunately, Papi didn’t send us any small, so for the time being, they are only available in medium, large and xlarge.

Here’s the details: A super soft white cotton pouch with center seam for support and to provide a natural contour. A cushioned 1 1/4 inch white elastic waistband with colored logo (The 3 pack includes one of each – black, red and blue.) Finally, 3/4 inch elastic leg straps provide the support to keep things in place.

The thing is that Papi knew guys were going to love this ultra-comfortable and stylish sport meets fashion jock so much that they packaged them in threes – but for the price of one (and with the above mentioned sale, they’re even cheaper!)

Twenty-five year old British fitness model Lee Stram recently finished a photo shoot for 2wink Australia along the Western Australian shores of Cottesloe Beach.

Following his arrival to Australia in January, 2012, Stram has landed a number of modeling gigs, including several photo shoots with Western Australia underwear company, 2wink Australia; recently completing an additional photo shoot for the brand’s Walkabout range, which celebrated Aboriginal Australian culture. He’s also fallen in love with the Aussie lifestyle of sun, surf and sand, and has no plans yet to return to his native country.

“It’s been my childhood dream to visit Australia,” said Stram. “And now I’ve been able to combine that dream with modeling opportunities whilst in Australia.”

Stram’s masculine physique matched the look of the brand, which made him the perfect model for the Aussie Defence AUS12 swimwear range, which was a follow-up to 2wink Australia’s first ever swimwear range launched in 2011, a range that included styles named after famous Aussie stars. Ranges are available in various colors, and retail from $48 – $67 USD ($45-$64 AUD).

I got a chance to sit down with Clever and find out what inspired the new line. It is a little bit of a departure for them, but I think a good direction to go in for a collection. We will have a video coming out very soon as well. But we will devote a post to each brand.  it will over Clever, Pikante, PPU, Vuthy  and new line Zylas. This post will just cover Clever. Here is what I found out from Clever:

  •  Inspiration for the new line is the year of the Dragon, Day of the Dead, Goth, and Mesh.
    • The Day of the Dead carries through the underwear, swimwear and tank. This includes skulls and skeletons
    • Where as the Year of the Dragon  inspires the pairs through out the line. You see man different dragon and dragon inspired prints.
    • There is a Goth influence for the tribal prints
    • Mesh is making a strong appearance in the line as well. Its be a great seller for them and leaves little to the imagination.
    • Classics still have a place in the collection with solid colors and some stripes.
  •   If you are a fan of total mesh underwear then check out the new Desire Latin line.
    • It is a solid mesh line that is accented with a gold waistband.
  •   The Mextli Brief has an interesting print  made from a sparklers print at the top. It’s made with a process that won’t fade or run easily.
    • The pattern is inserted in a new way that will accent the wearer.
  •   If you are looking for a brief that is really cool then you need to check out the Tryix mesh brief,
    • It has a retro style that remind some of a briefs from the 80’s.
  •    Cool Classic line comes back and is offered in black with red/yellow waistband. It is a classic but with a splash.
    • The waistband is centered with the Clever name, The name will not be off center in any size!
  •    If you are a fan of colored Sheer underwear, then make sure you see the updated Pop Mesh line.
    • It is offered in Green and aqua mesh. There is no solid pouch in the front it is totally see through
  •    New Swimwear has some great patterns.
    • The first is Nebulea which is a space print that come in a brief that comes in blue, red and green.
    • Day of the Dead inspired suits are Skull & Roses, & printed swimsuits.
    • Year of the Dragon inspired suits are the Printed Swimsuit and Dragon and Phoenix Suits.

These are not the entire line but some of the highlights. You can find Clever at some of your favorite online retailers.

This is one pair that I was really looking forward to reviewing from 2(x)ist. I am a big fan of underwear that is made out of spandex and really form fitting. When I saw the line I had to get a pair. So, when they sent me a pair of them I was really excited.

The Military line is available in Black, White, Green Camo, Black Camo, Lead and Army Green. All are colors that you could find in the military. The materials are Pique-Fle(X) cotton 57%, 37% Modal  and 6% Spandex. Which makes it super comfy.

I am a briefs lover and really liked the fit of this pair. They never lost their shape or were binding. This is one thing that 2(x)ist does very well, make really comfortable underwear.  This pair also has an “ultra-contoured pouch.” Which means that it is made to provide support and comfort.

The waistband is silver and really accents the pair well. It gives it a little bit of a pop. I think so many leave the waist and as an after thought. Not, 2xist with this pair.

I wore them to work. I loved how they felt through out the day. As I mentioned there were no problems and the sizing was true. 2(x)ist rarely, if ever, has problem with sizing. So if you buy a medium you will definably fit in them.

What I didn’t like? There isn’t much other then I wish they had created a thong or jock in the line. The brief is the skimpiest pair they currently offer.

Pros:

  • The Ultra Pouch gave great support
  • The materials were super soft and comfortable
  • Waistband being silver really make the pair pop

Cons:

  • Make the line in a thong or jock. I think the jock with the silver waist band would have been awesome.

Timoteo has released a new line in his Activewear collection. The two new styles are the Workout Legging and Short. Both are made 80% polyester and 20% spandex. Which makes it extra form fitting. This pair can be worn as a base layer or on it’s own.

Features Include:

  • Athletic straight leg
  • Artwork on pair is rubberized and won’t peel off
  • Low Rise design
  • Made in the USA

The legging retails for $38 and the short is $32. You can purchase both at the Timoteo site.

2(x)ist is one of the first companies  I remember buying when I first started buying my own undies. They were founded in 1991 and I think I have been with them from the beginning. I must preface by saying I thought I did these reviews a weeks back but I noticed I couldn’t find them nor were they posted!

The Sport line is one that came out in the last few months. It is also, the briefs are one of the few pairs I have just bought. Having an underwear blog I rarely have to buy underwear, but I loved the No Show Brief so much and had to get apair. I really wanted the jock but they were out of them in my size. The joys of shopping a major department store, but luckily 2(x)st send me these!

The pair is a really well made. One thing that stands out are the colors.  I received the Green/Black combo. The first thing I really noticed about the line is the waistband with the latex imprint of the 2(x)ist name. Great waistbands always catch my eye.

The pair is made out of 92% cotton and 8% spandex. Which made it fit very well and conform to my body. The leg straps were my only real issue. I wished they stretched a little more.  There were no major issues wearing the pair in a normal day. As with most 2(x)ist underwear, the construction top notch and well sewn. The pair really lived up to my expectations. I am not sure you would wear them for active sports but it would be a great pair for running around town or  going to the gym.

Sizing is rarely an issue with 2(x)ist the size they sent was correct and fit well. They have traditional American sizes.

Pros:

  • Color was my favorite
  • Waistband stood out
  • Comfortable pouch

Cons:

  • Wish the leg straps gave a little more

It’s Tuesday so that makes it Baskit $12 Tuesday. Today’s pair is the Action Cool Square Cut As the Baskit Site says: “Stop fretting over exposed waistbands for good! Our Square Cut Brief’s built in waistband provides for a low profile and a clean look unlike any other.” Also, check out the other underwear and swimwear on sale. Just go to the Baskit Site and go under specials to see all the deal.

There are so many amazing underwear manufacturers who are becoming more environmental conscience and socially responsible.  Soleone is one such manufacturer who’s created a biodegradable and hypoallergenic line of underwear.  Likewise, within the fabric, they have built in properties to wick away odor and moisture, keeping you dry.

This particular pair titled, ‘Lower Riser’ is made mostly from bamboo fiber (95%) which is incredibly soft and luxuriously comfortable.  With bamboo being a sustainable resource means it is grown without pesticides or fertilizers.  We can all appreciate a garment that’s safe for our bodies and the environment.  This line is only available in black or white.

Upon initial inspection of this brief, I was visually impressed with the quality of construction, elegant esthetic and the incredible feel of the fabric.  I immediately threw them in the wash and slipped them on when they came out of the dryer.   Throughout the remaining of the day, I was amazingly impressed with how well the low rise cut fit appropriately across my waistline and felt securely in place provided by the Soleone signature, spandex waistband.

However, these are extremely comfortable, well-constructed and provide a high quality of materials and definitely represent high end, fashionable underwear.   I worn these several times within a 3 week period and never once found them uncomfortable or ever realized that I wearing a low rise brief.   While I’m not excited about their price points on their line of underwear, I’m very impressed by the quality of fabrics and construction that go into their brief.   If you’re looking for a classic and well-constructed low rise brief, you might consider giving these a try.

A crew neck (or crew-neck) is a type of shirt that has a round neckline and no collar, often worn with other layers. The T-shirt crew neck was developed in 1932 as an undergarment that would absorb sweat and prevent shoulder pads of American football players from causing chafing. The U.S. Navy was the first U.S. armed forces to adopt the crew-neck  T-shirt or “Gob Shirt” (cited from Wikipedia)

The  cre neck, “Gob Shirt,” or undershirt as it is known today continued to gain popularity throughout the 1940’s and by the 1950’s  James Dean has created a legend. Dean turned heads in Hollywood, not by dressing up but by dressing down. His casual style teaming the basic crew with denim and a red jacket when he portrayed Jim Stark in ‘Rebel Without a Cause’ was considered uncouth at the time. However once immortalized on screen, James Dean had cemented a rebel uniform for his generation, and for many more to come….

To this day the crew neck is still considered a fashion essential amongst everyday men.

So when Equmen decided to launch their version of the iconic undershirt, the vision was clear. Head Designer Carolina Ale states ‘we wanted to take the legend of the crew and modernize the fit the needs of today’s man” says Ale.

This modern take on the classic crew neck tee will ‘help reduce neck and back pain, strengthen and support core muscles, improve you posture, enhance blood flow and circulation as well as regulate your body’s temperature making sure you stay clean, dry and supported all day,’ says Equmen’s CEO Anthony Pavlakis.

The shirt comes in black, white and new slate grey. Find them all at the Equmen site
