Have you been wanting to try fetishwear? A singlet, leather, rubber, mesh or any other type of nontraditional underwear fabric. Mixed in with a sexy barely there style? Have a wild side that needs to come out? You are in luck right now. Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to try something new! I think it’s one of the few times you can go a little wild and not get the “What are you wearing?” question.

Step 1: Discover your Fetish

If you want to try something you need to find out what you feel best wearing. What is it you are going to put on that will make you feel super sexy? Is it a leather jock with a harness? Maybe a lace thong. Could it be spandex gear? Only you know what gets you going. And note it’s ok to mix gear with each other. Such as leather with lace.

Step 2: Buy Your Gear

When starting off don’t go overboard and buy super expensive gear. There is a difference in loving the look of something and wearing it. It may be uncomfortable or hard to put on. My suggestion is to find some reasonably priced gear and give it a try first. If you like it then build a collection.

Step 3: Plan your night

If you are going into a situation with a partner not into what gear you are into, plan an evening that is conducive to slowly introducing your fetish gear. Drop hints leading up to the night too. If you have a very open partner just tell them you are going to wear something new and different that you really love. If your partner is more conservative don’t go all out at first. If you love leather coming out in boots, harness, jock, hat, vest and/or mask.

Step 4: Talk to your partner after

Get your partners opinion after “coming out” as a gear lover. Did they like it or not. Why did they feel that way? Communication is key. I have had partners who never got things I liked. It can be an emotional let down to have your partner ask “What are you wearing?” in a judgemental way. I’ve been there! I still have a memory of this with an ex.

Just go have fun on Valentine’s Day and make it a fetish night! Let that freak flag fly!
