The popularity of thongs is off the chart going into 2017. It’s the new must have style for guys. This is not just for gay guys, the straight guys have take up the thong. Thongs have always had a steady group of guys who loved thongs. Brands such as Joe Snyder and Gregg Homme have always seen loyal thong customers. Now, more brands are starting to make them. Anywhere from regular thongs to erotic ones. New brands that have great thongs are BodyAware and Intymen.
Why do straight guys love thongs?
I have a theory and my guys on the site can def respond to this in another post. I think the pair has had the “gay” label for so long. It’s a pair guys aren’t supposed to wear. They are “women’s underwear. That’s the general population’s view of them. However, there are guys who don’t follow the norms of society and want to feel sexy.
A few years ago, lace started to get big in the men’s market. This allowed guys to not have to conform to the boxers and boxer briefs guys were supposed to wear. Once guys started to discover great underwear, they wanted more undies that feel amazing. I know we have plenty of readers who tried them reluctantly. Thinking it was like a wedgie or going to be uncomfortable. Only to be pleasantly surprised by the fit and comfort of the thong.
It’s great to see guys try new styles in underwear! It doesn’t matter if you are gay/bi/straight. It’s about being who you are and owning it. Our guys own that they love thongs. They are spreading the word about the style. I would love to know why you guys LOVE thongs!

Thongs are by far the best underwear around! I started off loving bikini briefs, but now my underwear draw is full of over 100 different thongs. Thongs aren’t just great for underwear, they are a must for swimwear too.

Right now I am sitting in my favorite chair with sandles, khaki pants, a solid deep blue silk thong and a deep blue t-shirt to match. The thong is from Frederricks of Hollywood, one of the first thongs my wife bought for me. Yes, I have a spouse who loves me wearing unconventional male underwear. Thongs are not the only style that turns up the heat in my relationship but seeing that this is a response to Thongs specifically, I’ll stay on task. Why do I love man-thongs?
1. My wife thinks I am sexy in them and treats me accordingly! 🙂
2. They really are darn comfortable! I guess to each their own but I have never found the “strap” or “string” on a good pair ever bothersome.
3. The minimal material keeps your bits cool and makes your clothes so comfortable.
4. I can admit it! I think men (me included) look sexy in them. I think men who view themselves as masculine and sexually appealing make better, less insecure men. And face it, those are the kind of guys men and women want to be around.
These are the top 4 reasons I can think of right off the top of my head. I don’t understand the internet articles that have women disdaining men in thongs. A big part of my thong wearing is that when I put them on I think about my girl and how special she feels knowing that I am wearing an article of clothing that will often spark time alone for us. She knows that she is a big part of why I wear them. She wants me to feel masculine and sexy and good about myself and that is what thongs do for me. The women that wish to relegate men to unfitted boxers or even boxer briefs or whitey tighties are missing out big time! I can understand why thongs appeal to gay men specifically because of the reasons I just pointed out but the thing is, articles of clothing are not gay or straight but they are specifically designed for boy parts and every guy has a right to cover, support and hold those parts in anyway that makes him feel good and acceptable.

I first began to wear thongs because they were comfortable and gave me great support while super flexible without chafing or binding it was mainly on my days off but in time became what i wear for the most part after cleaning out my dresser. I decided to keep just a few string bikinis. For the times i am not in thongs.. Also my girlfriend likes them and tells me it turns her on. When I wear mens thongs.
Im straight, and I like to wear thongs… If you have the body for it, why not? Whenever I wear mine to the pool, or to the beach, girls will stare, and blush. I like the female attention, but guys will stare too, especially old creepy fat guys. I won’t wear a thong in a public setting if there are too many other males around. I dont mind girls enjoying the eye candy, but when other guys are enjoying it too, that kinda creeps me out. I guess you have to take the bad with the good.
I’m 31 and I’ve been wearing thongs since I was 18…my girlfriend bought me one cause I asked her…if ur gonna wear a thong the girl must know but the downside is that guys think ur gay…beware of people seeing. ..thongs are awesome but the girl must know
I wear thongs everyday and have been for 15 years. I have friends tell me they would love to try them but are afraid people will think they’re gay. I’m like who care? Thongs don’t make you gay. Being gay makes you gay. But again who cares?
I wear thongs exclusively and have been since I was 15. Sure a lot of people, guys and girls think it is feminine or even at times gay. But I believe that we should be who we are, and I consider my thongs as part of my style and persona. In other words, I’ll never wear another type of underwear again
I wear thongs. I prefer them to G-strings. I sometimes wear boxer briefs, but generally I prefer briefs… always have. I mostly wear briefs, but I do like to wear thongs. I wear them because they are comfortable and practical and show no vpl. I’ve had 2 girlfriend’s that have liked them too. If you like them then wear them!
