Skimpy is best right? I would say a majority of you guys feel this way. You’re not big fans of boxer briefs but prefer bikinis, briefs, and thongs. The PPU 1607 Bikini gives you minimal coverage in the front and good coverage in the back. It’s just the right size!
One of the best thongs on the market is Sukrew’s thong. I have reviewed it and found it amazing. It’s one of my personal favorites. Make sure you check it out if you’re a thong person or not.

I have a problem:
I have a problem shopping online for underwear, which perhaps puts me in the bottom 5% of underwear shoppers. I am very lucky to be living in a city that has a good little underwear store and I’m close enough to a (paradoxically) smaller big city with a bigger underwear store. So yes, I am spoiled and I know it. Actually, Seattle has two places that sell top quality brands and styles that one would not find in a Macy’s (if yours has not closed) or a Nordstroms.
So, given my ability to shop in person perhaps it is not too surprising that I have an issue shopping online. However, it persists. This week I visited both the bigger store in Portland (Under U 4 Men) and their smaller store in Seattle. The two combined have been getting a generous percentage of my paychecks for almost a decade now. The issue that I ran into: I couldn’t find any thongs.
Yes, thongs. They are not my everyday style and I only get in “moods” to wear them a few times a month but none the less, when I want one, I want one. I have some great Thongs from N2N, Cockstocks, even Male Power but I like variety and I wanted more of them. And neither store had very many and the selections were fairly uninspiring. And I get it, they aren’t the hottest selling men’s style so it makes sense not to spend much floor space or inventory on em.
Thus, to online, I turned. But where? Often when I shop online I go to specific brand’s websites like N2N, Baskit, Timoteo, Garcon Model, etc. and hit up their SALES sections. But even after bouncing from a few websites I couldn’t get anything to speak to me. So, I turned to the mega sites, the ones that have EVERYTHING for discounts. And there I had another issue, TOO MUCH! I was paralyzed by choice.
Even just when doing a search on Amazon there were issues. Either I couldn’t get a good feel for the pair and thus couldn’t pull the trigger OR the seller seemed less than quality. I like quality underwear and I want them to last so when someone is selling a pair for $4.25 I’m basically counting that as a “Two wear pair” and I don’t want that.
Indeed, I have a problem. I tweeted about this a couple times (@underloverwear) and got some helpful thoughts from people (Thanks, @underweardude!) but still, I haven’t been able to order anything. I want that instore experience, I want to see and be spoken to by a pair. And therefore, it is really hard for me to shop online for underwear.
I imagine I will eventually either take a chance and buy something online or just stumble upon something that really does grab my attention online but until that day I’m going to enjoy being spoiled by my stores and hope that a pair finds me.

It’s the start of swimwear season. Memorial day is the “official” swimwear start of the summer. It’s time to make sure you have a few pairs of swimwear for the summer. Don’t rely just on one pair to last the entire summer. One pair that is for the more adventurous is the Cocksox Sheer Swim Brief in the Prism print.

Cocksox is becoming a brand that is really embracing prints in swimwear. They aren’t the typical tropical prints. They are geometric and fun prints. I really love them and think they are making statement pieces for the beach. It’s amazing to see what they come up with. Plus they are willing to take risks and do new and interesting things. They continually produce swim thongs and made swimwear out of neoprene.
If you are looking for something bright and fun, the Prism swim brief is definitely for you. I wouldn’t recommend this as your first pair unless you’re super confident in who you are and are willing to have everything on display. Also, we would recommend this for a private pool or nude beach. You could get into trouble on a public beach or lake. But, that’s up to you if you want to dare that. I hope you check this pair out.

Where do you guys shop? I wanted to give a quick look at more of the UNB Reader Survey. The results are in line with previous years. More of you guys shop online than in person. There can be two reasons for that. The first is that you don’t have any good places to buy underwear. The second is you may not feel comfortable buying a thong in a regular store. But if you are the second, most people working the stores don’t care, they have seen it all.

Today is Jockstrap Wednesday. They day we celebrate jocks of all kinds and varieties. You can wear them to work, the gym or just around the house. For some time, I have been hearing fewer guys wearing jocks. In 2009 was the Year of the Jock on UNB. It was the first really big year of fashion jocks. That year EVERYONE had jocks. We were leaving behind the classic and entering a new phase.
Since 2009 more guys have turned to thongs. A few straight guys said their wives/girlfriends preferred them in a thong over a jock. This struck me as odd but not everything that some women won’t make sense to me. Other guys didn’t want the flashback to the middle school gym.
I think jocks are an acquired taste. Meaning they take some time to get used too. The first few pairs I had, drove me crazy. They would bind and there was no way I could wear them all day. The few times I did chance to wear them all day, I regretted it by noon. But over the years I became used to the design and fit. Now I don’t even pay attention to jocks when I wear them.
Now in 2017, I have been hearing guys wearing jocks. It’s not a large number of guys talking. However, it is in areas of guys who haven’t worn them before. Some of the younger guys and in the straight market. These two groups aren’t in the target market of most jocks. The younger guys are wearing them to work out. It’s like discovering something old is new again. While the straight guys are finding the fashion jocks. It’s another way to express themselves.
Will this be the next big thing in underwear? I’m not too sure it’s going to take off but I think there will be a new group that discovers jocks. It could grow or still remain a small number. Only time will tell.
I am in the process of sorting through the responses and getting the results finalized. Some interesting things in this year’s survey. One that I think is fun to ask is “How many pairs of underwear are in your collection?” We are all curious if we have the right amount of underwear or not enough. I think I fall on the “NOT ENOUGH” end, even though I have more pairs than just about anyone I know.
The one number that surprised me was the 151+ category. I wasn’t expecting 21% of you guys to have big collections! Which is awesome, because I should know by now never to underestimate our readers. You guys are amazing. However, 50% of you guys have 21-70 pairs. Which I think is about average for underwear lovers.
I will say I love these results! Glad to see so many guys growing their collection. I hope UNB had something to do with it, exposing more guys to great undies. That includes thongs, bikinis and more! Underwear is for all guys and you guys sure are proving it!
I”m working on getting the rest of the results. I came down with bronchitis and now a cold! UGH but I have the easy results tabulated and going through the rest of them. Stay tuned, I wanted to get these first results out!
Ergowear is one of my favorite brands. Not only is the underwear great, but they usually have some pretty nice colors as well. Ergo wear doesn’t constantly come out with new shades, or have a laundry list of choices, but what they do have is usually nice. They just announced two new colors that’ll really put a spring in your step. Aka, they are tailor made for spring time. Ok, enough with the jokes. I know many brands out there release new springtime colors, but how many of those brand’s new colors are on awesome ergonomic underwear? I thought so.
The two new Ergowear springtime shades are named Menta and Coral. As you might have guessed from the names, Menta is a nice light green. Not lime green, but not too light either. Coral is, well, coral, an uncommon color in men’s underwear but one that has popped up now and then. Between the two, I’m partial to Menta myself, because green is one of my favorite colors.
Ergowear has released these colors in their Max Suave and Feel Suave lines, currently two of the most popular lines they have. That means you can get great trunks, bikinis, and thongs in some fun and fresh springtime shades. I’ve got a few pairs with the Suave material myself, and it’s quite nice. We have all kinds of readers of UNB. Those who have been into underwear for years and have 100’s if not thousand pairs. On the other hand we have guys, of all ages, who just discovered underwear. Underwear 101 is a series we have to address some of the questions guys have about underwear. For our more experienced readers, they may not read them but we hope it helps other guys discover more underwear.
What is an ergonoical pouch?
You may have heard this on UNB. I’m pretty sure you’ve heard it a lot on UNB. Most of our guys love this kind of pouch. Men’s underwear comes in a few different pouches. First, there are pairs with no pouch. The front is one piece of fabric with no seam or designed pouch. The best example of this is Jockey Elance bikinis. The next is a what I call a contoured pouch. It’s a pouch built into underwear. It usually has a front seam in the design and is made to give you support. Brands like Clever Moda have this type of design.
Lastly, is the ergonomical pouch. It’s designed to fit a guy and how he naturally hangs. There are several types of pouches. Some of them enhance while others give a natural feel to the pouch. These usually have a lot of research and design behind them. As I said above not all pouches are the same. It’s important to find what you like best.
For example, Ergowear has three different pouches. The X3D, Feel and Max. I love all ut the Feel. It’s not that it’s a bad design, In fact, it’s pretty awesome design and it has fans. I don’t like it due to the way it fits me. It’s a personal preference. I feel I move too much in the pouch. I like things to stay in place.
Here are some great pouches to check out (This is a short list, there are a ton more to check out):
- Cocksox CX01 – This was my very first ergonomically designed pouch. It’s more like the wonder bra for men. It takes what you have and shows it off. I’ve described these as very bulgetastic. These will enhance and could show off a bigger bulge than you may want. So it may not be good for work or family occasions.
- Andrew Christian Almost Naked – One of AC first ergonomically designed pairs. It “allows you to hang freely” It’s available in just about every pair they make. I prefer the briefs but go with the styel you love best.
- Ergowear Max – “the pouch is manufactured in a three-dimensional shape that slightly lifts your genitals up and away from the legs, in a cozy yet fully protective manner. Made in many favrics and colors. “
- Ergowear x3D – “The X3D pouch is an original take in male underwear. A stretchy pouch that is designed to accommodate your genitals up and away, to avoid squeezing and adding a layer of flexibility and a slight enhancement for a provocative silhouette” My favorite pouch from Erogwear.

- Sukrew – They don’t push the ergonomical pouch in their promotional text. You can see it in their pics. It’s one of those under the radar and in every pair they make. From thongs to oboxer briefs.
- Big Boys Pants – BBP is a little known UK brand. They are amazing and designed by guys who need a bigger and more comfortable pouch. I have heard a rumor they maybe updating their collection this year. This is a brand worth checking out.

Two of the newest guys in the world of Underwear are the Garcon Model boys. Named David and AJ. If you follow Garcon Model on Instagram you have seen these guys. Tell our readers a little bit about you guys. (Hobbies, relationship, work (general area if you want), I know we will have guys ask if they are a real couple.
What made you guys come on board and be the face of Garcon Model Online? How did GM find you?
[AJ]: We’ve really loved sharing our experiences on Instagram, and one of the most rewarding aspects has been the connections with friends of old and new. Top on this list is our connection with Garcon. We were first connected to Garcon when one of their co-founders saw a post of us wearing some of their underwear (which we received as part of an Underwear Expert box) and decided to reach out.
[Dave]: When GM asked us to rep the brand for them, we were very pleasantly surprised – we had never done anything like this before, but were intrigued by the idea. We talked it over between ourselves, and since we love their product and brand so much, we decided to hop on board and see where everything would go. So far, we’ve really enjoyed sharing our enthusiasm for Garcon with our friends and Instagram followers.
Before you were the face of the brand did you two like underwear? Were you a fan of Garcon Model?
[Dave]: We had done some one-off Instagram projects with a couple of underwear brands before, and we had fun coming up with interesting shots to promote the product we had been sent. We also got to try out a lot of brands that we hadn’t been exposed to before.
[AJ]: When the GM underwear came in our Underwear Expert box, it was new to us. We were immediately taken by the fun colors and sleek logo on the waistband. Upon trying them on, we loved both the fit and the quality of the fabric. They became instant favorites.
[Dave]: When we saw that they supported the #loveislove campaign on Instagram, we were totally sold. We knew this was a company that had not only a great product, but that also aligned with our personal values.
You guys have tried probably every pair of the GM lineup. Do you have a favorite style? Color?
[Dave]: In the past I’ve shied away from bright colors in my underwear drawer, opting for more classic black/white/gray styles. (AJ would use the word “boring”.) But the GM underwear has really turned me on to the fun and bright color combinations they use. They’re fun and attention-grabbing without being gaudy.
[AJ]: I’ve always liked bright colors, but the GM styles really stand out. And every cut is great. I’m more of a briefs guy, and Dave likes both briefs and trunks.
[Dave]: And both of us love the fit of the jocks! Oh and they have awesome new hats, too. We wear them constantly!
I said earlier you guys are the face of the brand and that’s true now that you shot the new collection. Was this the first time you guys have done an official shoot for the brand?
[AJ]: Yeah, this was our first shoot with the brand, and really our first professional shoot like this ever. It was such a cool experience. We had so much fun with the photographer (Anthony Deeying, @anthonydeeying) and his team.
[Dave]: Anthony and his team are all professionals, so they knew how to keep things moving and keep the energy up despite the long day. It really was a pleasure working with them.
From the behind the scenes pics and videos you posted on Instagram, you looked like you had fun. Underwear shoots can make for a long day. How did you keep it fun through the shoot?
[AJ]: Well, first of all we had each other so we were bound to have a good time.
[Dave]: Aw. Isn’t he the sweetest?
[AJ]: And Anthony, the photog, and his team were really great. We were throwing jokes around the whole time and laughing a lot.
[Dave]: You can’t take yourself too seriously when you’re in your underwear in front of a camera!
You both got to see and wear the new collection. Any favorites or pairs our readers should take note of when the collection is released?
[AJ]: I definitely love the new orange color. It’s bright and puts a smile on my face in the morning when I put them on.
[Dave]: I’m partial to the pink. It really pops and is something I’ve never had in my underwear drawer before.
Why should guys try Garcon Model underwear?

[AJ]: Brief-cut swimsuits are the best. It’s a real shame Americans don’t wear them more often. For me, briefs allow me to be the most comfortable at the beach while also showing off my leg days at the gym – those aren’t easy work!
[Dave]: I’ll second that. Life is too short for baggy unflattering board shorts. And the GM swimsuits are the perfect remedy.
What is something our readers would be surprised to know about you guys?
[AJ]: Well, many people are surprised when we tell them that we live in different cities (Boston and New York). People see our Instagram (@monkey_bizniss), which has pictures of us together all the time. But in reality we usually only get to see each other on the weekends. We actually started our Instagram account as a way to feel a bit closer to each other when we were apart and to motivate us to take pictures of activities and events when we were together.
[Dave]: The distance isn’t easy, but we take the good with the bad. Not getting to see each other every day has made us really value and protect the time that we do get to spend together.
In the pictures, you have done a lot of things, what has been the best thing you have done while representing Garcon Model?

Still a bit on the chilly side here. But as I’m sitting here writing this, the sun is shining with clear blue sky. It’s a reminder that summer is getting closer and swimwear season will be upon us soon. What will you be sporting this summer? Do you wear different swimsuits for different situations?
I’m always anxious for the return of summer and the opportunity to strive for increasing my swim brief wearing. Though I am one that chooses the swimsuit based on the situation. I would prefer to be that full time swim brief wearer, but I don’t have the cojones to do so in every situation. I’m always fighting my reserved personality when it comes to going against the norm. There are two situations that will probably always be swim trunks for me. They are when extended family will be around and public pools. To me it would be too awkward wearing one around the extended family. With public pools, it is the confining space. I like to be able to get away from the crowds if need be. Maybe as my swim brief confidence improves I’ll overcome these at some point in the future.
My swim brief haven will continue to be my yard. Always nice to be able to soak up some sun and relax in a skimpy swim brief there. This year the goal is to make the local beaches a swim brief only place when it is me or me, my wife, and kids. That was suppose to be last year accomplishment, but we did not make it to the beach. This year I’ll have to make sure the opportunity present itself.

There is something about a pink pair of underwear that, not only I love, but our readers seem to love. It used to be a very taboo pair for men’s underwear. Now we embrace it and I think actively look for it.

I got interested in underwear in middle school when it was suggested that we get a jockstrap for gym class. I did not know what a jockstrap was but I was told I could find one at the drugstore. A short time later I asked my dad for some money so I could ride my bike down to the local drugstore and buy a jockstrap. He smiled and gave me $10.00. I rode my bike to the drugstore and found the jockstraps. My first one was an Ace brand, white with a red ACE label on the waistband. After I got home I tried it on in the bathroom and thought it was weird but I did find it unusually comfortable and supportive. Not all my friends bought jockstraps but some of us did and I was hooked. Until then I had always worn whitie tighties but now I was curious about this new undergarment. My family was pretty conservative so although I started to notice different styles of underwear at stores like J.C. Penney I was stuck wearing boring white briefs.
It was years later when I met my wife that my love for underwear was encouraged. My wife encouraged me to buy some “sexy” underwear and surprise her for our honeymoon. I didn’t know where to go so I ended up at the local adult shop and found plenty. I bought a pair of front lace up leather briefs and 2-3 pairs of thongs. We had a great time and my wife really enjoyed me in my underwear purchases. Over time my wife bought me thongs and we shopped for sexy underwear for her as well. We love doing the Swim Brief Challenge every year. More and more guys are starting to wear them. In fact, a few guys are skipping the briefs and going straight to thongs. We asked you guys if you currently wore them or if you are planning to wear swim briefs this summer. And to find out why you will wear them and which Brands you love.
Here are the results.
This surprised me in the guys who responded. 33% of you already wear them and another 33% wear them occasionally. But 14% are planning to brief up for the first time. Only 6% said they aren’t planning to wear them at all.
You guys wear swim briefs mainly to public beaches and pools. As well as private pools. Only a few will wear them to a water park. I don’t know if I”m brave enough for that, so hats off to you guys who do wear them there!
Most of you guys are willing to grab a pair of thongs and rock them on the beach along with swim briefs. I think guys like Jayinca are influencing others to say “fuck it” and just do it!

No matter what your sexual orientation most guys who read this blog buy their own underwear. I know we have had women readers over the years and thought we needed to talk to this market. Many of you know Jayinca, he’s written a few things over the last few months. He’s a big fan of thongs and bikinis. So we wanted to ask his wife a few questions
Hi Tim, I am so happy that you asked these questions and although I am not the witty and creative writer that my husband is — I am always happy to answer questions and help out in any way that I am able! I love the idea of bringing the women’s perspective along for the ride!
When you first met Jayinca, when did you find out about his love of underwear/swimwear? What did you think? (surprised, shocked, didn’t phase you?)
I believe it all started with dating and realizing that Jayinca was most definitely a “butt guy”. It was not a secret it was his favorite body part on a woman and that he enjoyed seeing women’s butts in a thong. I knew he loved women in thongs. I know early on in our dating I believe he had mentioned something about having worn a thong in the past. I definitely saw that as unique but really did not ask many more questions or pay much attention to it; which reflecting back is pretty strange because I am the person that would then ask fifteen detailed and in-depth questions after a guy reveals that he has worn a thong before. Months of dating passed and then one day I discovered in one of his drawers a bag that was full of thongs. I think I was a bit in shock, but also felt some stirring of excitement and maybe even a little jealousy of why this had been kept a secret in a bag.
I immediately said, “put one on, I want to see!” What I saw was quite sexy and I made sure to let him know that I liked what I saw! I’m sure I then bombarded him with tons of questions about this secret bag of goodness.
I’m not sure I would say at this point he “loved” to wear sexy underwear but maybe more of an openness or a curiosity in himself. I also have to admit that I still felt somewhat odd about the whole thing, but it quickly turned to loving him wearing them for me.
Have you encouraged his love of underwear? If so do you buy him undies from time to time?
Encouraging him to wear sexy underwear is probably an understatement. Demanding him to wear sexy underwear is probably a little closer to the truth! I DESPISE boxers and boxer briefs. I have changed though because when we first started dating I believe that my preference would have been boxers. However, seeing his amazing backside in thongs or even briefs just made me realize that boxers and boxer briefs really are the furthest thing from sexy that you can be. I have shared with him that I love for him to wear thongs every day and if not thongs then briefs. I have secretly thrown away boxers and also have hidden them. I LOVE looking at thongs or briefs to buy for him and imagining him in them and then I get super excited for them to arrive. We are separate from each other at work for most of the day, so I also will ask for pictures to be sent so that I can see him in them. Sometimes we will shop for them together and I will put my vote in for my favorites and sometimes I will just buy them for him.
He’s posted pictures of you two in thongs on the beach, how do you react to people who see your husband in a thong?
We are still experiencing new things with underwear and thongs, so it is only recently that he has worn a thong publicly at the beach. This was a pretty exciting thing for us both and a pretty big deal. So I only have a handful of people that I have seen react to him in a thong. Part of me feels a little nervous and protective because people can just be so mean. He is really putting himself out there to wear them publicly and so it would really hurt me if someone hurt him. That being said, so far I feel like the people who have walked by that I noticed react fell into the following categories:
1. OMG, I think I just saw a guy in a thong, I will immediately look away and never look back again! Didn’t see it, didn’t happen….watch me walk along with a serious face and act as if my eyes were never drawn to his ass. 2. I approve of all positive reactions, I don’t mind if women or men think he is sexy, hot, or amazing….because he is! As long as they keep their hands off – those are my buns!
What is your favorite men’s underwear style on your husband? What don’t you like?
My favorite style is by far thongs – shows the sexiest part of him off! I’m a pretty open person so I’m not sure if there is anything brief or thong that I don’t like. I guess I would say those super feminine undies on men are not really something that I have found myself to be attracted to, but hey …never say never! Oh, I will say for colors that I am less attracted to black, gray, navy blue type colors that I consider more boring. I like bold, bright, designs etc.
Jayinca has written a few things for us, did you read them? What did you think of the posts?
As far as I know I have read everything he has written and I think he is an amazing writer and I thoroughly enjoy reading what he writes and also hearing him talk about things that make him feel good. I believe that for him it feels pretty amazing to inspire others to be themselves and I imagine that he is doing that for so many people!
What is your advice for men who have been hiding their love of underwear from their wives/gfs?
This is a great and tough question and I rarely answer things briefly so watch out! If they have just never shared that they love sexy underwear then they have some goals right now to set for themselves. Being our true and authentic self is how we attract the right kind of people into our lives. If we hide or lie about who we are to the person that is our partner we are in some ways being a fraud and letting our fears make our decisions for us – I feel this is a shame. Plus it may be doing a disservice to everyone involved because it is possible that the other person would also really enjoy sexy underwear on their partner. A great example is that if I would have never found Jayinca’s lovely bag of thongs and if he would have kept that secret and felt ashamed, I bet he wouldn’t be writing for a blog and wearing sexy underwear; that means I would have missed out on a lot of joy in seeing him in them. I didn’t come into the relationship loving thongs, but his openness and bravery combined with my openness led to where we are today. Hiding those things would have been a disservice to us both!
I do however recommend that starting slow and gradual would be important. I think that societal norms in our culture are such a huge huge part of what we determine is sexy. It is almost like being brainwashed. Since we are so conditioned this way, I would recommend starting out by discussing things that both people think are sexy. Maybe hinting a little that wearing sexy underwear is something that feels good to you. I think reading how the other person responds at that point is a great guide in where to go from there. I think if the person shows interest and asks more questions or hints that they like this idea or would be interested in seeing that, then this is a good green light for you. I also think that if someone freaks out or thinks it is disgusting this may not be the right person. This probably depends very much on how important wearing sexy underwear is to you. Personally, I am very open minded and very much can develop new interests or things that I think are sexy if I know that it is a turn on for my partner. So remember, I did not come into the relationship all hot over guys in sexy briefs or thongs! This was something that developed by trying things out and being motivated by what turns each other on. I believe for us underwear is quite sexual, however, it doesn’t need to be a “turn on” to enjoy each other in underwear that is not just boring ol’ tighty whiteys or super boring boxers that cover up every part of potential sexiness.
I also think that even if a partner’s first reaction is not one of – throw you down on the bed and rip your clothes off – all is not lost. I think some things take time and as long as there is some level of openness and some desire to make each other happy then there is some room here for growing gradually. Communicate with each other and be vulnerable, maybe there is something that your partner would like you to get into or approve of too. This is the perfect opportunity to at least try out what the other person is interested in. We can’t force ourselves to love or even like what our partner does, but we can at least give something a try.
Remember our brains have been trained to respond negatively to men in sexy underwear. Don’t even get me started on men wearing board shorts to the beach!!! YIKES!! Huge double standard — women show every possible bit of skin you have and tan it — men cover up as much as possible, as baggy as possible, and get the strangest 1/2 leg tan that you can!!
The most important thing I can say is that you are not a weirdo for wanting to wear sexy underwear. Be you! Own it, rock it, love it, thong it! There are other great people out there just like you. My husband and I LOVE talking about undies, shopping together for them, seeing each other in them, and even writing about it! Surround yourself with someone that allows you to be who you truly are. We won’t please everyone, not everyone will like us, but when you are your true authentic self that’s when you know the people who are around you are the best possible people for you! Thong on men!
I’m a black male, 34, married to a beautiful woman and father of one son with another son on the way. I have been wearing thongs, bikinis and string bikini underwear off and on since 2001, during my freshman year of college before the start of my sophomore year. I started incorporating these styles of underwear in my daily wear in 2012 and haven’t looked back.
Like most pre-pubescent adolescent boys, I liked looking at the section of the catalogs that showed women’s underwear and have always been interested in wearing minimal/sexy underwear that was made for men.I grew up in the 80’s and 90’s when it was almost normal to see the athletes, actor or musician/singer wearing men’s bikini or skimpier. These men weren’t viewed as gay or feminine and women wanted them and men wanted to be like them.
I knew of men in my family, uncles, cousins etc that wore bikini briefs and string bikinis which were pretty normal underwear to wear during this time period. One of my uncles, in particular, was in his early 20’s when I was around 12/13 and stayed with us for short period of time after getting out of the Air Force. During this time we had to share a room until he got his own place and naturally by sharing a space I saw his underwear. This is when I knew bikini briefs and string bikinis were the underwear for me.
My uncle was so cool, he was masculine and had lots of different beautiful girlfriends and I wanted to be just like him and wore what he wore. He had different styles and patterns, mostly animal prints like zebra, snake, and cheetah, this was intriguing to me as my dad wore those ugly brown military briefs.
During this period underwear for men began to change with boxers then boxer briefs being what men were to wear. I was in high school during this period, was heavily influenced by the hip-hop culture and began to wear boxers and occasionally boxer briefs. I did this up until halfway through my freshman year of college.
During college when I was searching for underwear that provided extra support but was minimal under my clothes. I happened to stumble across thongs for men while a freshman in college shopping at Target and happened to stumble across Jake Taylor thongs for men. I was intrigued and bought a pack from then on I was hooked. This discovery of thongs for men reopened the door for me to wear bikinis and string bikinis that intrigued me at 12/13 and I began to wear this style as well. I would wear them in secret and no one I dated, friends or family knew of my underwear choice.
Fast forward to the present, I typically wear thongs, g-strings, string bikinis, bikinis and pouch brief underwear daily to work and boxer and trunk briefs occasionally. Some of my favorite brands are Obviously, Ergowear, Cocksox, and Gregg Homme. I like to think of my underwear collection as a buffet that can satisfy my appetite for the day. Currently, I have over 100 pairs of underwear that take up two drawers.
I really have to give kudos to my wife for embracing and not ridiculing me for wearing the styles of underwear that I wear. She was the first women I dated who knew of my style of underwear and when I wore a g-string in front of her for the first time her reaction was very positive! By my wife not minding me wearing the styles I like it makes me feel good and feel as though I don’t have to do it in private. Hi, Jon thanks for taking the time to talk to us. Many of our readers know you as an Andrew Christian model. How did you get started modeling and also how did you get involved with Andrew Christian?
I started modeling when I was 18! A photographer had reached out to me because I was a gymnast and he wanted to take some “bendy” pictures of me! I started Andrew Christian because my friend, Pablo Hernandez, had recommended me, and it just so happened that they were beginning their “vibe” campaign! I was pretty good fit because it’s all fitness oriented! Since that day, I’ve been on board!
What was your first shoot for Andrew Christian and how did it go?
My first shoot for Andrew Christian was the “VIBE” line! It was so much fun! I worked out for a whole day prior to the shoot! Little did I know I was going to be working out on set for the next 3 days. My body was so exhausted but I had so much fun!
Andrew Christian has some great locations for his photo shoots. Which shoot has been your most memorable and why?
So far, my favorite has been the shoot for the “Ranch Hands” video! We were on a ranch in a valley, and we got to play with horses! It was so cold outside, but we managed to have so much fun running around and getting things done! I wasn’t too fond of washing a car in 40-degree weather, though! That was brutal, but it was hilarious watching us all panic when Topher tried to wet us!
Andrew is known for creating some really fun underwear. What is the wildest pair you have ever modeled for a shoot?
The wildest pair has probably been the football jock! The design is so unique in that it looks like it should be a pair of football shorts, but it’s underwear!
Since we are an underwear blog, I have to ask, modeling for one of the largest underwear companies, have you developed a bigger love of undies? Also, did you like underwear before you started modeling underwear?
I’ve always loved underwear! Since I was a little kid, I would make my parents splurge on underwear! Now, it’s basically all I wear! I love it!
Do you have a favorite line, style or pair of Andrew Christian underwear?
My favorites would have to be the Trophy Boy and BLOW! lines! Those two are the sexiest and most comfortable line to me.
You were one of the models to participate in SEX= POWER = POWER. What did you think when the project was presented to you?
At first, I truly had no idea what to expect. They were very vague in the description of the project, but I just knew it was gonna be hot and beautiful!
Also, how was it pitched to you?
It was pitched as a very “Madonna-esque” project. That’s when I was hooked!
We interviewed Jacob Ford and he said one of the pictures he took with you in the SEX=POWER=FREEDOM book was his favorite. Do you have a favorite picture from the book?
I know exactly which picture he’s talking about! That’s one of my favorites as well! The connection is unreal in that picture! My personal favorite is the one of me inside the cage, reaching out! It’s very representative of my personality!
What was the shoot like getting to participate with almost every Andrew Christian model at once?
It was definitely different! Every model has their own personality and it was great learning how everyone worked! This particular shoot though was a great bonding experience because we were together for 3 days so it brought everyone a little closer since we all live across the US!
Shoots are a long process. It’s not just show up, put on underwear, and in 10 minutes take some great pics and go. How long did it take to shoot your part for the book?
The book was shot over a span of 3 days, and each section I was in was probably like 30 – 45 minutes at a time. I shot in the same place and position so many times, just different angles. It’s not as quick and easy as it seems!
What is your take on the final book? Also, what did you take away from the experience?
I love the book and the message it sends out. Being a part of this book, especially during shoots, made me more open to different aspects of sexuality. There’s more than just “black and white” in everything.
Are there any other Andrew Christian models you would love to do a shoot/video with, that you haven’t worked with yet?
I would love to do a video with Pablo! Even though we are best friends, we’ve never done a shoot together! I think it would be so much fun!

Although I look overtly-sexual on social media and in shoots, and extremely unapproachable, I’m the exact opposite! I’m actually a complete goofball! If you see me out and about, don’t be afraid to say hi!
