What do you wear under your clothes every day? More so, how do you pick it out every day as you get ready? Do you lay out your clothes and underwear the night before? Or do you pick them out at the spur of the moment as you get dressed? Do you match your underwear to anything else in your outfit or do you pick them out based on your mood at the time?

I tend to pick out my underwear based on my mood every morning, and also like them to match my clothes as much as possible. For instance, if you see me wearing a pink shirt or sweater, there is a 100% chance that I am wearing a pink thong underneath! I also like my socks to coordinate as well, so there’s a pretty good chance that they will match what I am wearing.

Another consideration that I give is what I will be doing throughout the day. If I am going to be doing something active, I may decide to wear a more supportive pair of underwear. Conversely, if I know I am just going to be in the office all day I will usually opt for a slinkier style thong or g-string to wear under my dress slacks.

I’m curious to see if any of you follow the same routine as I do. If you have your own system for wearing your underwear, I would love to know! For those of you with sizeable collections, how do you rotate through them? Do you wear them all or just several of your current favorites? Do you and a partner wear matching pairs?

IMG_0200Drop me a line in the comments and tell me what you do to pick out your underwear every day. Maybe you can help me find a way to cycle through my entire collection again!

Candyman’s new collection has a lot of jocks. Not just any jocks but fashion and fetish jocks. Would you expect anything else from the brand? I think not!  The entire collection is bright and fun! Today we needed to cover the jocks on Jockstrap Wednesday! Here are the series of jocks that are in the collection

Candyman 99250 Soft Mints Jockstrap

The CandyMan 99250 Soft Mints Jockstrap leaves little to the imagination, except where you can wear it, because something this sexy deserves to be seen. Super soft microfiber fabric all around with a dash of extra support in the back, this sporty-meets-sexy style is super hot for the most exclusive of occasions.

COLORS: Blue or Pink
FABRIC: 90% Nylon 10% Spandex
SIZES: Small – X-Large
COST: $21.48

Candyman 99276 Candy Lace Thong

This thong is a sexy boudoir piece for boys that leaves little to the imagination! Made from sheer lace, this sexy number provides a dash of coverage only where it counts up front. On the back it has thin straps crisscross all around your butt. (I consider this more of a jock)

PAIR: Candyman 99276 Candy Lace Thong
COLORS: Black, Green, or Orange
FABRIC: 88% Nylon 12% Spandex
SIZES: Small – X-Large
COST: $23.48

Candyman 99281 Frosting Jockstrap

The Candyman 99281 Frosting Jockstrap is the basic sports support every athletic guy needs. The pouch is made from soft, stretch mesh microfiber that is absorbent for long lasting comfort. The rear straps are thin and curvy to prevent pinching or riding up, so you can perform in this jockstrap for hours on end.

COLORS: Black or REd
FABRIC: 96% Nylon 4% Spandex
SIZES: Small – X-Large
COST: $15.48

Candyman 99278 Gum Jockstrap

The Candyman 99278 Gum Jockstrap laces up in the style of 18th Century naughtiness, so they’re perfect for donning when you’re at your best in the bedroom–or undressing to impress.

COLORS: Pink or Blue
FABRIC: 96% Nylon 4% Spandex
SIZES: Small – X-Large
COST: $16.48

Candyman 99282 Hard Candy Jockstrap

The Candyman 99282 Hard Candy Jockstrap combines the sexy mesh fabric with the low rise and lean cut of a brief, but cuts out the back entirely to give the fit of a jockstrap. The microfiber pouch provides coverage where it counts, while the sheer sports mesh shows off the skin beneath.

COLORS: Black or White
FABRIC: 97% Nylon 3% Spandex
SIZES: Small – X-Large
COST: $12.48

Are you looking for some super fun underwear? PPU is known for their innovative and fun designs. This new collection proves that PPU has some of the most interesting pairs on the market. They mix jocks, thongs and boxer briefs into something very sexy and hot. Each year they create more hybrids or take on an old classic.

PPU 1704 Boxer Brief

The PPU 1704 Boxer Briefs is not a classic boxer, it has four styles in one in the front looks like a brief but it has straps which make it a jockstrap but on the back has a G string which makes it a thong and on the sides has panels that seams like a boxer

COLORS: White or black
FABRIC: 93% Nylon 7% Spandex
SIZES: Small – X-Large
COST: $29.48

PPU 1709 Thongs

The PPU Thong 1709 puts the bright lights on your finest assets! ultra stretchy microfiber fabric forms a smooth, defining fit that feels light and airy against your skin. The pouch is contoured to lift . See through fabric

COLORS: Turquoise, Blue, Black, or White
FABRIC: 94% Nylon 6% Spandex
SIZES: Small – X-Large
COST: $22.48

PPU 1710 Jockstrap

The PPU 1710 Jockstrap is a jockstrap with a super sexy touch, thanks to the small amount of fabric on the pouch with a V shape form. This super sexy sporty style is made for the guy who isn’t afraid to stand out, and show a little skin at that.

COLORS: Black, white or Red
FABRIC: 90% Nylon 10% Spandex
SIZES: Small – X-Large
COST: $26.48

PPU 1711 Bikini

The PPU 1711 Bikini is made from super soft, stretch microfiber fabric that fits sleek and trim. The low rise, lean cut silhouette provides plenty of coverage with a sexy edge.

COLORS: Black
FABRIC: 88.05% Nylon 11.95% Spandex
SIZES: Small – X-Large
COST: $24.48

PPU 1712 Jockstrap

The PPU 1712 Jockstrap gives you minimal coverage with a sporty design twist. Instead of a conventional waistband, this the elastic straps from the back ride up your hips and hug your body to stay up. It’s ultra low-rise for an invisible look under clothes, so you can always use it for a pleasant surprise.

PAIR: 1712 Jockstrap
COLORS: Green or Orange (new colors)
FABRIC: 94% Nylon and 6% Spandex
SIZES: Small – X-Large

PPU 1714 Jockstrap

The PPU 1714 Jockstrap it’s all in the details, so we’ve turned up the sexy factor here by adding a few extra straps. Some are for show, while the others in the back give your butt an extra boost. All in all, slip this baby on and enjoy a sporty, sexy new you.

FABRIC: 93% Nylon 7% Spandex
SIZES: Small – X-Large

Have you tried Nylon underwear or are you a big fan that can’t find it? Back in the 80’s there were plenty of brands making nylon underwear. Bikinis and briefs were easy to find. Mix the fabric with bright colors and it was a winning combination. Then we moved into the 90’s and we entered the world of black, white, or grey. On top of that was the introduction of the boxer brief. Most mainstream undies moved in this direction. This made many of the nylon underwear companies without a market. They either changed their business model or went out of business.

Over the last 10 years or so I have seen more companies producing the old standard nylon undies. They have a sub “fetish” group under men’s undies that love these styles. I hate to call it a fetish, I should say preference. Before you run out and get some nylon undies there are some things you need to know. If you’ve never worn them, first thing is they aren’t stretchy. If you’re used to spandex and such, these don’t have that much give. Also, they aren’t super body hugging. Which is not always a bad thing. I prefer the brief or bikini cut in Nylon. It sorta creates a pouch out of the fabric that gives you support.

One company that has been around since 1994 is still making these undies. That company is JG2. This is how they describe themselves. They “address a market segment that most designers and manufacturers of men’s underwear routinely ignored, treated as a fashion fetish, or relegated to novelty status. That market segment is: men’s nylon underwear”

They currently offer bikinis, thongs, and boxer (well boxer briefs). The colors are more on the pastel side but I think it really works with the pairs they offer. The pricing is around $15 a pair. I am going to reach out to the brand and find out more info about them. I just wanted to pass this along to you guys who love nylon undies and can’t find them! Shop JG2.

Jocks are not as popular as thongs right now. I say this because we only had 26 of you guys respond to this poll. Which is fine! Next we’ll make sure to ask more thong questions! 2009 was the year of the jock and they have become a staple of the underwear world. They aren’t going away but they still have a loyal following.

Here are the results of our questions:

Here is what you guys said about why you wear jocks:

  • Comfortable, supportive, sexy
  • They support and they turn me on and hopefully turn others on when wearing
  • Makes me feel sexy, it’s a secret to know I have it on
  • Keep junk contained but otherwise feel naked
  • Love the support. Love feeling sexy, flirty and confident.
  • To see what the big deal is about.
  • Comfort
  • Comfort, sexiness
  • Like the support and freedom of movement when playing sports and and the fashion jocks can be super comfy with some sexiness too!
  • I love them and no sweaty ass when doing gym
  • Love the feel on my butt and good support on front side. also I feel masculine wearing jocks.
  • They keep everything in place when I need to move and I feel more athletic in one.
  • good support while working out — if they have a good pouch. Traditional jocks are binding and very uncomfortable.

This is not a scientific poll by any means but it’s fun to see what you guys think. First, It was very interesting to see that 50% of you guys wear them to work and while participating in sports. I was sure the watching sports would have been higher. Next, date night was number two! This I figured would be lower on the list, but its up top. Lastly, is the Gym.  I know many guys wear them but didn’t expect the number to be so high.

I hope you enjoyed participating in this poll and look for more soon!

One of the brands a lot of us here at UNB loves is Gregg Homme. We all can’t wait to see the new designs and fabrics that they produce. They very rarely let me down in the new collections. This one is not as big as others but still has some amazing pairs in the fall collection. I plan on doing an in-depth dive on each of the pairs. This is an overview of the collection.

Century Collection

Gregg Homme introduces CENTURY. The animal print of the season.  A charming gold foil snakeskin pattern combined with a soft see-through mesh fabric. Styles are the jock, string, boxer, thong, and brief.

Crave Collection

Gregg Homme introduces the CRAVE. The perfectly fitted faux leather collection that is breathable and stylish! Styles available Trunk Butt exposed, Jock, Jock Detachable, Boxer Detachable, Boxer Brief, and Brief.

Frame Collection.

Gregg Homme introduces FRAME! The Frame is about to take the fetish world by storm! Styles available are Chest Harness, Arm Harness, and Thong

Mythic Collection

Gregg Homme introduces you to the MYTHIC.  Made with an Italian honeycombed patterned jersey. Styles available in a trunk, jock, chaps, muscle shirt, string, Brief, T-shirt, thong, and basic brief.

Push-UP 2.0 Collection

Gregg Homme introduces PUSH UP 2.0, our newest padded retro look with contrast color binding and pipping. Styles are the jock, boxer brief, thong, and brief.

Room-Max Collection

Gregg Homme introduces the ROOM-MAX. The jock is made of a hyper stretch microfiber and has a technical construction that gives you volume, freedom and a natural feel. Styles are a jock, boxer brief, thong, and brief.

The brand PetitQ has been producing a lot of undies this year. This is their seventh mini collection of the year. Most brands only put out 2-3 collections a year. Arthus & Nico have been doing an amazing job growing the brand collection over collection.

When PetitQ first came on the scene, they were about skimpy undies and mesh. While this is still part of their DNA, the boys have grown the collection. They are mixing the masculine and feminine. To me, the last few collections were mixing of Leather and Lace.

Meaning they are taking what are “classical” leather designs and mixing it with lace and other fabrics. This to me is genius. Underwear is about wearing what you feel sexy wearing day in and day out.

One example of this is the Hear Lace Bikini. My take is this is a jock brief that the PetitQ boys put their creative spin on. Mixing the lace in the front and back gives it a fun silhouette. Its available in black and white.

The Riscle Thongs is a new take on a thong. I feel there is an influence of Japanese or Chinese designers. I say this because of the way the back is designed. It’s not a traditional thong. They have created a unique and fun design in the back. Plus the pink color makes it POP!

Lastly, what could be considered classic PetitQ is Lapal Bikini. It’s a regular cut bikini with two colorful mesh side panels. This takes me back to their very first collection. Skimpy and mesh are still being made at PetitQ.

I love the designs the guys are coming up with, in their collections. I hope we will see a lot more creativity from the PetitQ boys. They are not making your typical designs, which is a good thing in the underwear world. See all of the collection at CandymanFashion.

BLACK FRIDAY STARTS NOW – 15% TO 70% OFF STOREWIDE NOW!

Our biggest sale of the year is here!

Forget battling the lines for a deal this coming Friday, Jockstrap Central’s big sale is starting early. From right now until midnight on Sunday, November 26th, everything store wide is between 15% and 70% off. Jockstraps, jock briefs, underwear, wrestling singlets, fetish wear, gym and fetish shorts, tank tops, socks, cock rings, ball stretchers and more are all marked down.

Of course the best thing about our Black Friday sale is you don’t have to live in the United States to take advantage of this shopping tradition, we ship worldwide and we ship discreetly! This sale is simple – no discount codes to remember, simply visit our website and you’ll find all our gear listed with the original price crossed off and the sale price listed in red.

While absolutely everything is on sale, here are just some of the highlights: Our entire PUMP! collection of jocks, briefs, socks and tank tops are now 30% off. Our Papi Stretch Jockstrap 2-packs and 3-packs are 20% to 70% off. Our remaining Bike jockstraps are now 50% off (now collectors items). Likewise, our remaining Activeman jockstraps are now 70% off. Continuing with sports jockstraps: Jockstrap Central’s very own JC Athletic Classic Jockstraps are now 20% off and our imported Wolf and Omtex supporters are now 25% off. Finally, our Original Bike #10 Jockstraps and Performance Jockstraps (now by Meyer) are 15% off.

Into Sports Fetish? Our entire Cellblock 13 collection of jocks, jock briefs, fetish shorts and harnesses are now 15% to 20% off. More incredible sports fetish can be found in our Maskulo department. It’s imported from Russia. Think Mad Max meets sports fetish with a touch of Spartacus with all the removable cod pieces) – it’s all 15% off. Also imported, this time from Italy, our Jock Fighters sports fetish gear is now 15% off.

Also in the fetish department: Our entire Nasty Pig collection is now 15% to 50% off, we even have some Union Suits left, but guaranteed at 15% off, not for long. Also, our rarely on sale and hard to find Full Kit Gear collection is now 15% off (be sure snag the pervy Service Shorts with front and back Zippers!).

For the exhibitionist in you, we’ve got our exclusive Raw Studio line of bulge-boosting jocks, full-frontal display gear, strapless socks (jocks without the straps) and a huge selection of cock rings, ball stretchers, and cock contraptions – the works is on sale for 20% to 40% off.

The only exception to our 15% to 70% off site wide sale is the seven 4 Hunks collection of jockstrap and open back mesh wrestling singlets we introduced last week. They’re imported from Germany and too new to be discounting heavily, but even those are on sale for 5% off during the sale.

There are too many incredible deals to mention here so just head to Jockstrap Central and check them all out. Plus, don’t forget, Christmas is almost here so don’t forget all our hot gear doesn’t have to be just for you, they also make a wonderful self-serving gift for others- just remember to offer a personal fitting during the hand off!

We asked you guys about classic underwear. About 5 days after we had six guys answer. I figured this may be one of those polls few guys had interest in. I check it when creating the jock poll and noticed over 60 guys have answered. Enough to share with you guys. Here are the results of the poll. And what you guys had to say for and against wearing classic underwear

First we asked, should guys have classic underwear.

Then we asked what styles guy should have:
Lastly, what classic colors guys should own
Readers for  guys wearing classic underwear:
  • it’s good to have a conservative alternative
  • Tighty whiteys are a classic staple in a man’s underwear wardrobe.
  • For those times when fuller coverage is needed
  • For when you feel more conservative. Some days I want to feel subdued
  • It’s much more manly
  • Suitable for all occasions, shapes and sizes.

  • If a guy usually wears non-classic underwear, I don’t see a reason for them to own or wear classic pairs.
  • Always nice to have a few pairs of classics for the gym or work.
  • Functional. There are days when it’s just what you need.
  • They are hot
  • I guess it all depends on your age and body form. Personally I feel the classic styles are more comfortable for those of us who are a little overweight. I am not an exhibitionist and if I bend down it doesn’t bother me if someone see a Calvin or Emporeo waist band
  • You just need classics around to remind you of the old times
  • I think a good classic pair sets a tone to your day if you have something more reserved/conservative in your schedule. I also think it resets your brain a bit so when you wear your more daring underwear it’s more special.
  • I think that almost ally styles of underwear have their place and occasional function. Like a boy scout, you should be prepared.
  • Because it makes a man very sexy too
  • There are times when you just need to step into something simple! Only classic underwear often has a pouch problem (as in not having a good pouch, period).

Those who don’t think so:

  • I don’t see the need unless the guy wants them for some reason. Wear what style you want all the time. Don’t change it up for certain situations.
  • It´s so boring
  • I don’t really see the point for classic underwear unless that’s what you’re into which is absolutely fine. If you like bikinis or thongs they can be your classic go to underwear if you like them. I think that’s also how you can change skimpier styles as becoming more accepted
  • So uncomfortable
  • There are so many better options out there really nowadays…comfort, style, individual expression, pattern, color, proper pouches (how we ever lived without them before is a mystery), variety…

I purchased the Cover Male Cheeky Boxer in navy for this review.

Rating: 7.7/10

  • Daily Fit: 8/10
  • Sizing: 9/10
  • Construction: 7/10
  • Styling: 7/10
  • Daily Performance: 7.5/10

Pros:

  • Breathable fabric keeps your skin cool for hours
  • Pouch forward design accentuates your anatomy
  • Barely there design with no elastic in the leg openings

Cons:

  • The only print available is camouflage
  • The screen printed label isn’t very flattering to the design

UNB Ryan’s recommendation: I love thongs, and you can’t get too much closer to wearing one than the cheeky boxer style from Cover Male!  I have bought this same suit in the navy and hot pink (my favorite color) variations. These are great for long-term wear, and also for times that you may want to wear a little more than a thong style. I have worn these while doing various activities, and can say without a doubt that they are well suited for anything you want to do in them!

Cover Male is a staple in my underwear drawer.  I have several different styles from thongs to boxer briefs, and I love all of them!  They offer something for everyone, and I mean everyone.  Cover Male provides boxer style underwear for the traditional male mindset, brief styles for the more adventurous, and thong/g-string styles for the wilder side of each of us.  This pair of cheeky boxers is much more akin to a thong than a boxer style and is definitely within my comfort zone.

I’ve worn this pair on numerous occasions, from wearing them under my dress slacks at work to wearing them while doing yard work, and they perform each time flawlessly.  I don’t find myself feeling to adjust anything or pulling them away from my body but rather forget that I have them on, which is really what should happen when wearing underwear!  The fit of this pair is very minimal in that they don’t exaggerate your anatomy in any way, but rather gently accentuate it.

Cover Male’s designs have been very well constructed in my experience.  I have never had any issues with seams coming unraveled, elastic stretching out, or fabrics fading or bleeding excessively.  All of their designs have adequate elastic to hold everything in place without being so restrictive that they cause discomfort.  The leg openings on this pair do not have any elastic, and the feeling you get immediately after pulling them on is evident of the thought that went into the design.  You can’t tell they are there at all!

Cover Male’s suits don’t all share the same fit, but these are very true to size.  I have found that Cover Male, like many designers, run a little bit on the small side when buying their skimpier suits.  The styles that have string sides are typically cut smaller around the waist but will share the same pouch size.  The cheeky boxers are pretty safe (in my opinion) to order in your typical preferred size.  I haven’t had any issues with these riding up excessively or the leg openings being overly restrictive.  I found that the pouch on this pair is very well constructed, and offers generous room and support for your package.

I am certain that I will continue to buy from Cover Male, and in particular, I may take advantage of the sale currently going on and pick these up in a few more colors.  I particularly like the camouflage and white colors as my next choices.  If I were to make one suggestion to cover male, I would ask them to go back to the fabric care tag found in some of their older styles instead of the screen printed instructions they are using on the newer designs.  It’s not so bad on the smaller suits, but for the styles using wider swaths of fabric, they leave an unsightly impression from the outside.

Bruno Banani Brand Introduction

There are some interesting marketing campaigns with the brand Bruno Banani that I’ll touch on a bit later in the post. Bruno Banani is a German brand, so some of my research on them was translated from German. The brand was founded in 1993 by Wolfgang Jassner who already worked for various textile companies. Jassner saw there was a gap in the underwear market with no “young, groovy brand” in men’s underwear.

Bruno Banani sells more than men’s underwear and swimwear. They also sell many other items including women’s underwear too. They granted licenses for fragrances, watches, bags, sunglasses, hats, and even towels. Also, they sell shoes, jackets, socks, and shirts. All of the products for both men and women. Let’s look at the women’s underwear a little first. They have a pretty good selection for the ladies, which you don’t find quite as much from a brand that offers both. Most of the time it is a couple of styles and a couple of fabric options for one sex and then a bunch for the other. They still offer more for men than women. They offer women’s styles in thongs, bikinis, hipsters, briefs, and bras. They don’t offer any women’s swimwear though.

Let’s go over the men’s selection. For us, they have the boxer brief, the more modern hipster, long johns, and the boxers. On the skimpier side, you have sports briefs, which vary in side widths. You have bikinis that they call tangas, and then there are the strings or traditional thongs. The boxer briefs and hipster are a good part of their men’s underwear makeup. For their swimwear offering, they have Bermuda, which is their knee-length shorts. Then they call swim shorts by boxers. Hip shorts are in the square-cut family with the shortest inseams. The other square cuts are called shorts. They’re a little longer on the inseam, but most appear not to make it to mid-thigh. Then there is Retro, which is kind of like sungas or square cuts without an inseam. Their swim briefs are called mini. They’re similar to cut to the sports briefs. Skimpier than a full swim brief, but not quite what I would call a bikini. And lastly, they have thongs or strings for swimwear. They pretty much have something for every guy in underwear and swimwear.

Bruno Banani marketing strategy is one to get themselves notice. They started that with a bold motto or slogan of “Not For Everybody.” When you see that does it make you wonder why it’s not for everyone? Like I said a bit earlier, from a style standpoint I would say they could be for everyone. If you go with price, then maybe not. I would put them in the premium price area at typically $25-$35 a pair for underwear. If you want boxers, you can get them under $20.

They staked claim to be the first designer brand in space. They outfitted one of the astronauts on the MIR space station in their underwear. Bruno Banani adventure tested their underwear in a 10,000-kilometer adventure by Achill Moser from Jerusalem to Zimbabwe. Another extreme adventure test for their underwear was an Eco-Challenge. The German team at the challenge was outfitted in the “Air Active” collection in their 500-kilometer journey through the Australian jungle. There are a few other marketing campaigns they talk about. You can read more about them here.

There is one last marketing campaign I want to touch on that I think is a pretty bold one. The German luge team took a Tongan who was aspiring to be the first one from the country to make it into the Winter Olympics under their wing. This luger had the same name as the German underwear brand Bruno Banani. Of course, this was not his real name, but just a marketing hoax that was eventually uncovered. This brought criticism and attention to the brand, which had to be the goal of the campaign. The luger’s real name is Fuahea Semi, and there is a movie about him called “Being Bruno Banani.” Check out more about the movie on the IMBd website.

As you can see they have done some interesting marketing to build their brand recognition. Have you tried the Bruno Banani brand? Let us know your thoughts on them.

UNB writers have previously discussed different ways of organizing an underwear drawer.  But the problems in organizing underwear also arise when trying to keep straight a growing swimwear collection.  Here’s what I did recently to try to contain the clutter and ease the process of selecting the appropriate swimwear for my chosen watersports activity.

I started with a Skubb drawer organizer from Ikea  ($7.99).  It’s inexpensive, and the seven divided compartments of varying sizes helped group different swimwear by style.  The organizer also takes up only two-thirds of my drawer, leaving a large additional space for more swimwear.  Here’s a look at the final outcome:

And here’s how I got there:

A. I first folded lengthwise my three pairs of swim trunks and put them stacked in the open space to the left of the Skubb organizer.

B. I folded and placed my single pair of board shorts in the top left square of the organizer. These are Andrew Christian board shorts, so they’re neither as thick or as long as most board shorts.

C. One pair of square cut trunks resides in section C. (The other two pairs of square cut trunks went to section G.)  There’s room in section C for at least 1-2 more pairs.

D. The sections marked D hold swim briefs that would be appropriate to wear at any beach or public pool. I folded and turned each brief so that the back faces the front of the drawer.  Folding and storing in this manner provides the largest possible view of each brief’s pattern when later selecting which suit to wear.

E. The small, top right corner of the organizer holds swim thongs. I don’t often wear these, but folding and stacking them so that the pouch faces front makes choosing easier when the right wearing opportunity does arise.

F. I utilized the organizer’s two medium sized sections to store the swim briefs and bikinis that might be too immodest to wear to the neighborhood pool. (These swim briefs typically have a profile pouch or are custom-made swimwear from designers such as Muscle Skins, Beach-N-Dance, or Jovana Design.)  As like before, I folded each so that the rear of the suit faced forward, making the pattern more visible and easing a later search for a specific suit.

G. Finally, I folded and placed two of the more modest square cut trunks next to my all-locations-appropriate swim briefs. The square cut trunks in this section lack the profile pouch of the square cut found in section C.  (Think “more James Bond” and less “Magic Mike.”)

In total, the Skubb organizer provided an inexpensive solution for organizing and storing over 35 pairs of swimwear of varying styles.  All my swimwear had previously been just stuffed randomly in the drawer.  I am pleased with results of my attempt at organization, and I hope I can maintain this level of order through the end of next summer.

Everywhere you look these days, every company, brand and more seem to have their own underwear subscription service. Wait we are pleased to announce…. Not really! We aren’t planning a subscription service. The question is are they worth the money you pay? Will you get pairs that you will actually wear? If you’re paying $20+ a month you want something you will wear on a regular basis. We have a few words of advice when picking an underwear subscription service.

Go with a brand

If you love a brand and they have a service it is worth looking into. First, you know the brand and the quality. The designs, prints, and fabrics won’t come in and you go “what the hell is this?” It’s more likely the brand will send you similar to what you already love. Two brands doing subscriptions are MeUndies and Andrew Christian. MeUndies will send you an awesome print each month in the style you love. Thiers is pretty straightforward. The designs/style will not change. If you want to try some different things Andrew Christian can vary the line they send in a brief. You could get an Almost Naked, trophy boy or more. Pouches could have the Show-it Tech or they could be mesh. Andrew Christian has a lot of different things they could send a month.

Get something new with a retailer

If you love a style such a brief or jock. Sign up with a retailer doing a subscription. They will bring you a new brand every month. This can be good and bad. It can be good because it can expose you to a lot of brands you may not have worn before. You could find a new favorite. On the flip side, if you hate a brand you may get a pair in the subscription. It’s a gamble you will have to take! Most retailers will try to get the best value for the consumer. Always follow up with a brand if they send you something you love or hate. Feedback is always good.

Try something out of the box

Some subscriptions make you pick a style and stick with it. Others will send you anything from a boxer brief to a thong. If you want to expand your horizons why not let the luck of the draw dictate what you get. Or, if you love all kinds of undies, this is perfect for you. You will get sent, randomly, whatever pair they have that month in whatever style. It can be like Christmas and not knowing what you’re going to get till you open the package!

It’s about the money

The last thing to consider is the cost. They vary in costs. It’s smart to shop around and see who is offering the best deal. The cheapest isn’t the best if you’re paying $5 or more for shipping for each pair. Looking into shipping costs is a must. It will add to your subscriptions overall cost. Next, are you signing up for an ongoing monthly basis that you have to cancel or is it for a set

Next, are you signing up for an ongoing monthly basis that you have to cancel or is it for a set time? Double check before you order to see which you are getting. You may only want to try for 3 months but sign up for a year or more. If it is an ongoing subscription, is it easy to cancel your subscription?

If you want to reward yourself I think an underwear subscription is a great way to do it. Shop around and see what the costs are for each of the ones you are interested in purchasing. Most will have some of their past selections. It should give you an overall view of the service. After you deciede on your service determine how long you want the subscription. And then sit back and enjoy as undies show up at your door everymonth!

I have a pretty broad definition of fetishwear. It’s anything that I consider skimpy, wild, and out of the ordinary. That could be leather, rubber/latex, lace, pleather, satin and more. Its a market I have seen grow over the last 9 years of running UNB. It’s going more mainstream. Which I think is awesome. You no longer have to go to adult stores to get it. Many sites are starting to carry it along with the mainstays of the underwear world. Here are a few companies to check out!

Gregg Homme – This is one of the pricer brands on the list. It’s not uncommon to pay $30-50 a pair. Their designs and fabric are first class! The skimpy barely there cuts with fabric that seems magical. I say this because when you get some of the pairs you’re like “This is missized. But, it will stretch to fit you and give amazing support. Every year they release two collections.

Cellblock13 – Like a bit of leather inspired gear? Cellblock13 is Timoteo’s brand that mixes the leather, neoprene and harnesses to create an awesome collection. Timoteo has been pushing the designs to create some of the most innovative pairs in the world of fetish. Just when I think he can’t top the last collection he does!

PetitQ – PetitQ is mixing the masculine and feminine. This is a big trend in men’s underwear. The walls are being broken down and you are able to wear whatever you want. PetitQ has always done skimpy well! From the start, they were all about showing off what you have and making you feel great while doing it. The last few collections have seen more lace sneak in the collections. Still looking super hot!

Nasty Pig – They are one of the first fetish brands to go mainstream. They have been the brand around the longest. They have a mix of underwear, fetishwear, denim and more. They have expanded out of the world of just gear. They have some great designs that will make you happy! The fetishwear and underwear are still on point.

BodyAware – One taking the masc/fem to the next level is BodyAware. Not only do they do lace, but also do satin, silk and other fabrics that have been traditionally for women’s lingerie. The designs are also influenced by women’s wear. This brand crosses both gay and straight worlds. From thongs, bodysuits, bikinis and more. The skimpier the better I would say from BodyAware

Maskulo – The last on the list is a brand out of Russia. Yup, we said Russia. Having the issues with gay’s in Russia, you wouldn’t think of them having a leather-like fetish line aimed mainly at gay men. They do a mix of leather and sports gear. When I first saw it, it made me stop and go “Who is this, I MUST KNOW.” Jocks, pants, shirts, singlets and more carry their signature codpieces and padding!

And I could name about 20 more. But these are some of the brands I think are on top of their game right now. We will profile more soon! So stay tuend.

Hi everyone, and welcome to another edition of Show us your Drawers!, a series dedicated to having a look at the underwear drawers of UNB readers and writers. Today we are taking a look at the drawers of UNBDustin. Here is what he has to say:

“I’d love to say my underwear drawer is perfectly folded and organized because half of me is OCD and likes things just so.  However, the other half is lazy and can’t be bothered.  So first, you’ll see I have a dresser just for underwear.  It’s vintage and cool (even the original liner in the drawers) but doesn’t actually hold a lot.  I do separate by style: top drawer for thongs and jocks, middle two for briefs and bottom drawer for boxer briefs and boxer shorts.  This keeps things easier to find and looking pretty neat.  However, with 250+ pairs, they don’t all fit.  This is where the other side of me kicks in: a laundry basket with underwear simply folded and stacked in there.  It’s not on its way from the laundry – that’s where it lives.  The problem with this is that I think I only wear about 10% of my gear because I grab what’s on or near the top.  I never make resolutions but I might this year…wear a different pair every day until I’ve gone through my entire collection.  If I don’t like wearing them, get rid of them.  This will hopefully help me clear things out and make way for new stuff!”

Thanks, Dustin! Want to join Dustin in showing off your collection and storage methods? Send an email to info@underwearnewsbriefs.com with “Drawer!” in the title, along with a picture of your underwear drawer and a short paragraph describing your collection and/or storage methods. I hope to receive your submission soon!

Ergowear is out with a new collection, called XV, in celebration of its 15 year anniversary! XV is stated as “the most sophisticated version of our exclusive Feel and best-selling Max pouch underwear styles,” and boy does it look it. It really is more than a regular collection. I’d call this collection super-sized, as some pairs have multiple pouch options!

The line is available in the usual range of Ergowear styles: Midcut(Boxer-Brief), Boxer(More like a trunk), Brief, Bikini, and Thong. The Midcut and Boxer are available in both the Feel and Max style pouches. The Max is more of a traditional “push up and out” style ergonomic pouch, while the Feel I less traditional but very popular. The Brief is only available with a Feel pouch, while the Bikini and Thong are only available with the Max instead. All the pairs utilize the same nylon/spandex material, with a 1’5 inch waistband that displays your brand allegiance without being overtly flashy.

These pairs are classy, coming in three colors: White, Navy, and Space Grey, with a contrasting Black or Gold waistband on the White pairs. The Navy and Space Grey changes things up with a same colored waistband.

I think the real key to this line is the mono-colored pairs. The Navy and Space Grey pairs have a great sophisticated look at them in my eyes. I’m hoping to get my hands on some pairs from this line this year, most likely those bearing the Max pouch, as I already own a Max trunk, bikini, and thong, and adore them. So which pair tickles your fancy?Which color is your absolute must have? Let us know in the comments below, email us at info@underwearnewsbriefs.com, or message me on twitter @underweardude. I hope you liked this look into the newest line of one of my favorite brands. Happy birthday, Ergowear, here’s to another 15 years of awesome underwear!

I take a mostly utilitarian approach to underwear organization.  My collection consists of more than 175 pairs of everything from the smallest of “anatomical pouches” to traditional boxer shorts.  Such a large stock requires using multiple drawers within the chest of drawers, with certain drawers dedicated to specific styles of underwear.  I also rotate what I wear within each style so that everything wears (almost) evenly.

For my “show me your drawers” submission, I chose one drawer dedicated to briefs and bikinis and a second drawer dedicated to multiple styles.  (Two additional drawers hold the trunks, boxers, undershirts, boot socks, and still more briefs.)

To organize briefs and bikinis, I place them flat in four separate stacks within the drawer.  Underwear most recently washed appear on the far right; underwear to be worn next reside front-and-center.  As the front stack is depleted, replacements are rotated forward in a counterclockwise fashion. (Pictured are favorites from Andrew Christian, Nasty Pig, Buffed Bod and N2N Bodywear.)

A Skubb drawer organizer from Ikea  ($7.99) helps corral socks, g-strings and K’Mando pouches in another drawer.  These too are roatated, but certain pairs nonetheless get more wear than others.  (Pictured across the top are g-strings from Andrew Christian, Hotline and Gigo, as well as pouches by K’Mando Sport.)  The Skubb organizer leaves about five additional inches inside the drawer, providing space for thongs (not pictured).

Avid readers who remember the Fort Troff Sport Trunk review may wonder about athletic gear – compression shorts, running tights, jock straps and swim briefs – that are undoubtedly part of the collection.  Well, that’s another story altogether . . . .

HOM Freddy String Thong

Rating: 8.6/10

Daily Fit: 8/10
Sizing: 8/10
Construction: 10/10
Styling: 9/10
Daily Performance: 8/10

Pros: Overall a pretty comfortable thong, well made
Cons: Haven’t come across US retailer, so international shipping, limited colors
Recommendation: If it is one that interests you, give it a try. I like Doreanse Euro thong better since the pouch is narrower (Not as roomy as Freddy if you need room though). Plus it is available from a US retailer and even a little cheaper.

The Freddy Thong from HOM has been around for a long time. I’ve been thinking about trying it for years. Thanks to UNBTim, I finally got my chance. I have a few swim bikini briefs from them and a swim thong. All of which I like the fit and style of. The Freddy string is my first pair of HOM underwear. I like to describe this type of a thong as a cross between a g-string and a traditional thong. Also it kind of fits into the v-string category, but without the matching side width to the tail width. Any how it has a 3/16” string that attaches the pouch to the back. You get the traditional thong look in the back when wearing them, but the g-string type tail between the cheeks.

Overall it is a nice thong. I’ve found sometimes I have to get these adjusted right. Once I do they typically stay pretty comfortable to wear and would be a nice everyday thong. I don’t see it being a good one to wear for athletics or something really active. It has the excellent everyday nonworkout time support. I wore it lounging and doing errands and performed well with those activities. The pouch has a center-seamed, so has some contouring. The fabric has stretch and is what I’m going to call full frontal coverage. It should hold most packages within it. The fabric is a blend of 93% cotton and 7% elastance, which I’ve seen different fabric content listed for these. My tag has the stated blend. The sides of these are about one ¼” wide. I find it to be a pretty good fit all the way around in a medium. The size chart says 34-inch waist for medium and 32 inch for a small. I float around 32 and 33, so I say pay attention to the size chart. I’ve seen some recommendations of ordering up a size on them.

The colors selection is very limited that I’ve come across in these. For how long they’ve been around I would think there would be more color options. It seems your choice is red, blue, black, and white. I haven’t come across a US retailer selling the brand HOM, so there is International shipping to get a pair. If you are interested in this style, you may want to check out Doreanse Euro thong. It’s a pretty similar cut, and there are US retailers selling it. Main differences are it is a micro modal fabric, and the pouch isn’t as roomy as the Freddy. Both are good options in this particular style.

I purchased the Joe Snyder Bulge Boxer, which isn’t in line with my normal choice of thong underwear, but I really liked the all day comfort that these offer.

Rating: 8.4/10 (Average of the ratings below)

  • Daily Fit: 8/10
  • Sizing: 9/10
  • Construction: 8/10
  • Styling: 8/10
  • Daily Performance: 9/10

Pros:

  • Super stretchy-soft nylon fabric that stays close to your skin and is very breathable
  • Roomy unlined pouch accentuates your package while keeping you cool
  • Comfortable for all-day wear

Cons:

  • Limited availability in prints
  • Unlined (if that’s even a con?)

UNB Ryan’s recommendation: I love thong underwear, and until recently I have worn them almost exclusively for the past 15 years or so.  However starting to review underwear over the past few months has given me the opportunity (and encouragement) to try different styles and fabrics.  I have this same suit in the wet look black fabric, and the red fabric feels like a completely different suit due to the difference in fabric.  These are really stretchy, and feel great for all-day wear, whether you’re lounging around the house or following the wife around a shopping mall!

As an underwear reviewer, I shouldn’t be biased to a particular brand, but I LOVE Joe Snyder! They offer styles to appeal to both men and women, which can be used as underwear and swimwear, and they offer cuts from modest to daring.  I love the multitude of fabrics and color choices that Joe Snyder offers, and like that all of their suits accentuate the cheeks.  While I do normally love to wear thongs, I have been branching out recently and have found many trunks and boxer styles offer a cheeky feel reminiscent of a thong or tanga style.  This suit was not entirely out of my comfort zone-I plan to try some brief and jock styles in the future!

I have only worn this pair one day, which was a good test because my wife and I were due to go see a movie and do some shopping afterward.  While watching the movie the pair was very comfortable, and I could hardly even notice them.  They have an almost natural fit that hugs your skin without being overly constrictive.  The pouch holds your package up and is supportive, and is unlined so it keeps you cool all day.  While walking around the mall with my wife these performed the same in that they were hardly even noticeable.  The bulge pouch does add some to your confidence, and depending on how snug your pants are, can even be noticed through a pair of jeans!

This suit was everything I have come to expect from Joe Snyder.  The construction is top-notch, with attention to detail.  All of the elastic is positioned to allow for maximum comfort and doesn’t dig or cut into your skin anywhere.  Also, the leg openings do not have any elastic, so they just follow the contour of your body and are extremely comfortable for long-term wear.  The only thing I don’t care for is the large tag that is present in all of their suits, but it is very easily remedied with a pair of scissors!

Joe Snyder’s line has always had a very consistent fit for me, even between different lines and cuts.  This pair is no exception; in fact, they may even feel a little better than some of the others I have in my collection.  I have this exact same pair in a black “wet look” fabric, and they don’t have near the elasticity that the red fabric has.  These feel great, don’t pull or ride up throughout the day and have just the right amount of give for all-day comfort and support.  This pair has a generously sized pouch that fits your anatomy, and has plenty of room to stretch throughout the day to allow for movement and support.

In conclusion, I was overly satisfied with this review, and will likely continue to wear them.  The quality is nothing short of what Joe Snyder is famous for, and I will continue to support them!  If I had to ask Joe Snyder to change anything about this pair, I would encourage them to design a smaller care tag.  If you like cheeky styles, give these a try, you won’t be disappointed

Growing up I’ve always had a passion for cute and fun underwear. It wasn’t until I was about 17 that I realized there were much more options aside from Hanes briefs and boxers. The excitement I felt when I purchased my first pack of thongs is a feeling I will never forget. It was a brand Target used to carry called BVD. They were very comfortable and the fit was amazing. From that moment on I was hooked on wearing thongs and other sexy underwear.

Moving forward a few years I began to notice the cute patterns and fabrics that women’s underwear were made of. I wondered why I could never find men’s underwear in mesh or lace unless I went to an adult store and even then the choices were unflattering at best. It wasn’t until I met my fiance who also shared a love for underwear almost as much as I did. We would always talk about cute underwear and how women’s underwear and lingerie were always so much sexier than what was out available for men. On my birthday he surprised me with my first pair of panties and they were so sexy that I tried them on instantly. I not only felt so cute but also very sexy in a taboo sort of way. A feeling much different than I would get when I would wear men’s underwear.
For years I have always mixed masculine underwear with feminine lingerie and panties in the privacy of our home. It wasn’t until recently with the support of my fiance that I wanted to share this love of mixing the two with the rest of the world by creating my Instagram account. I was very nervous about putting myself out there like that as I didn’t know the reactions I would get. I was terrified that the feedback would be so negative it would make me want to rethink my love of underwear and lingerie.
I checked my phone constantly to see what reactions I would get and to my surprise the feedback was positive and people loved it.
To be able to mix fabrics such as lace, mesh, lingerie with everyday clothes makes me not only feel better about myself but it empowers me to want to continue to do what I love and be able to share that with others as others have shared that with me. I try to be unique by mixing my everyday geekiness into my photos to give a little insight into my everyday life. To put it plainly, I am just your average Joe. I love video games, movies, comics, working out, and above all else underwear. Whether it be men’s thongs, jocks or women’s panties, and lingerie.
I personally don’t believe that underwear should be confined to either sex but rather be embraced and accepted by both men and women. I personally love seeing other men in panties, lingerie, thongs, and jockstraps. I merely appreciate the male body in all its beauty but something about seeing a body in some sexy underwear just adds that much more to the beauty of it all.
I hope that anyone who follows my Instagram who is curious about trying something new and different should not feel ashamed or embarrassed but rather feel powerful and sexy. If we are confined to societies gender constraints about what masculine and feminine should be rather than what we can make of it than we are not living up to our full potential.
If I can inspire just one person to be able to embrace both their masculinity and femininity than I feel I have done my part.
Sincerely

Hey everyone, and welcome to another edition of Show us your Drawers, where we take a look at a UNB writer or reader’s underwear drawer. Today we have our first reader submission, from Steve. Here is what he has to say:

“Here’s my drawer. I’m up to 43 pairs organized by category of course. Jocks are on the left, then g-strings, thongs, bikinis toward the middle, briefs and finally trunks on the far right. As you can see, I try and mix it up with a variety of colors and patterns.

There are 15 different brands represented, with the top three being Gregg Homme, C-IN2 and JM. My current favorite pair is definitely the teal Grip thong from Gregg Homme. It’s got a really sexy strappy cut-out on one half and detachable buckles.
Love the blog, keep up the great work!”
Thanks so much Steve! Want to be like Steve and show off your collection? Send an email to info@underwearnewsbriefs.com with  Drawer in the subject line, along with a picture of your underwear drawer and a paragraph or two about your underwear collection and/or storage system. We look forward to seeing your drawer!
