My career takes me all over, a great perk, because when the sun is out, I look to continue sparking the fire for Swim Thong Revolution. That’s what brings me here today to your screen as I share with you my adventures going coast to coast testing the waters, pun intended, of thong-ing in the sun.

This past weekend brought me to Seattle, a historically liberal city, whose exploding growth has brought people of all persuasions and backgrounds to shores of Lake Washington on an 80 degree Sunday. I figured I should have no trouble fitting in, and I was correct; Madison Park Beach in Seattle is a great place to wear your swim thong.

Nestled just south of the University of Washington and is hiding behind winding and secluded neighborhoods east of downtown. Madison Park is one of the few Lake Front parks with an actual beach. The sand is minimal, but few public shore line spots along Lake Washington offer a comfortable and inviting sunny weekend afternoon. With a dock equipped with a diving board, sandy beach, grass promenade, lifeguards, this past Sunday this parked was PACKED. Towels, beach chairs, Frisbees, footballs, wine, booze, loud music, children, couples, university students, retirees, gawkers, loaners, were present with Me in in my Pikante print swim thong.

The anxiety is always there. The moment where you transition from an unremarkable 20 something year old guy in Basketball shorts and T shirt to a renegade-trend-setter sporting a swim thong. That moment takes courage as you know the gaze of on lookers will lead to judgment, because YOU chose to be different.

This monumental moment in a new beach, new area, seemed fairly uneventful. The park was quaint at 10 am, maybe 15 people max around, and few really seemed to care. I got a few snickers from college aged mixed group in front of me, but that quickly melted away and I blended into the Summer Seattle scene.

As the temperature climbed into the 80s and the day wore on, here came the people. And no one said a word about my risqué suit. Soon I had neighbors inches from my towel and didn’t hear a peep. Maybe it was because I wasn’t listening, but honestly, other than a couple of stares then a shrug, most people were more focused on their summer day than me.

One of my good friends came down to meet me, this would be the first time he had seen me in a Thong. I actually was quite nervous for that, it’s easy to wear thongs…anonymously, but when you introduce this secret life to your friends, you wonder how it will change things. Well for my buddy it really didn’t change anything, as predicted. We go back to many fun days back at school and he just kind of was like, “you do you man, I aint going to stop ya.”

Once again, me and my buddy, and my swim thong just blended into the Sunny afternoon. He and I decided to cool off in the water as the temperature climbed. Walking back to the towel, finally someone had decided to say something.

“Hey I like your suit!” said this girl roughly my age. She was with her friend, boyfriend, and another guy friend. “I am in design and work for Nordstrom, and I really like that style,” she went on.

Instantly the whole group and I began talking about me and my suit, and how I wasn’t gay, and how great that was that I had the stones to pull off a suit like this so well. Turns out the boyfriend and his friend shared similar interests with me and we “bro-ed” out a little.

My buddy ended up leaving eventually, and I spent the rest of the afternoon with my new friends shooting the breeze, throwing Frisbee, diving off the diving dock, and listening to Weezer on their Bluetooth speaker. We exchanged numbers, instagrams, and said our goodbyes with plans to meet up sometime again this summer.

Literally, the whole experience was awesome. NEVER, have I felt so good about who I am. It is so refreshing to meet others who can be friendly and really just get along with some dude wearing a thong. Maybe its Seattle, maybe its them or me, but what a great Sunday it was.

To echo former stories here at UNB, just go out there and DO IT. Wear what you want and be yourself. You are in for a surprise on how rewarding a day like I just had can be!

With our Reader Survey around the corner, we always ask about real guys in underwear. This could be our guys brave enough to drop their pants and take a few pics. Or regular guys on the internet showing off. It’s time we really start promoting the real guys on the site. This was sparked by a convo for the Brief Talk Podcast coming out this week, with ScruffyGear and UndiesGeek85. Two amazing guys who put themselves out there!

One thing that we have been known to do is a Brief Distraction. This showcases a brand, store, photographer, model or real life reader of the blog. It’s not just some random picture. It’s tied to the underwear industry in some way! Mostly it’s pics I think are amazing from brands and a link to the pair to buy. I want to get to the point where we can do at least one real guy/reader pic a week. I would be super excited to have more!

So what can you do? Fill out our form below with your email so we can contact you. Once we contact you share with us some pics and give us permission to run the pics. We can post your picture in one of two ways. The first is a link to your social media accounts. To help you gain followers and share your love of underwear. The second, to run the picture under a pseudonym without contact info. No worries that you can’t post it under your own name. However, we will need to know your name for permission but it will not be released to the public.

I hope you guys will be up for sharing pics of yourself in underwear, swimwear, spandex/workout wear and fetishwear. Maybe a little of all the above. One thing is we need it to be PG-13/R rated pics. Thongs and the back are ok but nothing 100% sheer or sexually excited pics (you know what I mean) or sex acts being performed. We will let you know if we can’t use your pics due to these issues.

We will start surfing throughout social media accounts and asking guys if we can post pics as well!

Today on UNB we celebrate Fetish Friday! One new line from Gregg Homme totally fits in this theme. The new line called Arouse is a mesh fabric that will either show off all your assets or may leave a little to your imagination. Well there is one pair that won’t show off your goods.

I hear you asking about what makes this so special? “The very sheer snakeskin jersey has an all over laser printed pattern that gives the fabric a slight shine.” Gregg Homme makes underwear out of the most amazing fabric. On top of that they use some of the most cutting edge technology as well. It’s odd to hear technology and underwear, but a lot of times, Gregg Homme is at the forefront using it in their production

The black color of the Arouse line is perfect for this pair. It makes it super sexy. As I mentioned above there is one pair with a pouch that doesn’t show off everything. That is the boxer brief, it has complete coverage in the front. If you’re a bit shy or want to leave some to the imagination get the boxer. If you don’t care about that get any of the other pairs.

This is one of the lines that comes with shirts. Produced for the line are a t-shirt and muscle shirt. You can mix or match it with the jock, string, brief, thong or boxer brief. Make sure you check out the new line!

Gregg Homme never does “novelty” underwear. However, that doesn’t mean they don’t make fun underwear. One line that I liked when I saw it in Vegas is the Super-Ero line. This vibrant color blocking design is made with our exclusive super fine hyper stretch knit that is soft and slightly sheer. I mean, what would a fun pair at Gregg Homme be without some slightly sheer fabric?

The line comes in a Jock, String, Brief and thong. Which have been the standard styles in this year’s collection. The color block pattern focuses on three colors, Royal, Red, and Silver. My favorite is red!! The color block is the least on the jock and string. There is just a bit of contrasting color at the top of the pouch. The brief and thong both have a more defined color block.

One thing you might notice is the waistband or lack of waistband, in all but the jock. The brand in remaining three pairs is like a bikini waistband. A covered small waistband. Those who hate big waistband I think will love this line. It’s hard to believe but, there are readers who hate big waistband!

This is only the fourth range we are covering from the new Gregg Homme line. We will show the rest of the lines over the next two or so weeks. But if you can’t wait go to the Gregg Homme site and SHOP till you drop.

When you think of Candyman, what comes to mind? Mesh? Bright colors? Lace? Mix of masc and fem? Over the top designs? super fun? All those come to mind when I think of them. Over the years they have morphed into a brand that has no boundaries on masc/fem. There are no rules and they have firmly embraced this philosophy. More guys are loving this type of gear as well!

The new collection is even more “over the top” than previous ones. I know many of you are thinking how can this be possible, but just when you think it’s not possible they come up with some super amazing designs. I hear many guys asking “Who wears this stuff?” A lot of guys do and it’s not just gay and fem guys. All shapes and sizes, from muscle men to bears. All walks of life from the work room to the board room.

The new collection is divided up between lace, mesh, and denim. Denim in the smallest of the bunch, with just three pairs. A boxer brief, brief, and thong. The mesh is just what you expect from Candyman. There are cut outs and mesh panels used to show off every inch of your body. It has the traditional black but also some super fun colors.

The lace is the bulk of this collection. There are many new thongs, briefs, boy shorts and more. I would say my favorite pair is the new lace sided singlet. I saw it and immediately said WANT. One pair that is sure to turn heads (main pic) is the new lace pair with a built in garter. There are no stockings but it’s definitely inspired by the women’s lingerie industry. Last in this would be the new lace robe that you can pair with a black lace thong. It would be the perfect companion.

I hope you will go to the Candyman site to see all of these. We are going to run the new line on our Tumblr including some videos. So stay tuned!

I hear many of you out there who will say “OMG basics are so freakin boring.” Well, that may be the case but, when Gregg Homme puts their spin on it, I think it will change your mind. So What do you get when Gregg Homme makes a mix of a basic line and a sports line. You get the Evoke line! As I say, basics are not boring at all. But, lets face it, Gregg Homme never does anything that isn’t sexy AF.

The New Evoke line has an amazing Austrian micro modal ribbed knit fabric. The fabric comes in three colors, Orange, Navy, and White. One thing that runs through all the pairs is the striped elastic. It’s bigger in the jock and boxer briefs. It’s pretty bold in those and it’s just around the legs. The waistband is a solid white. The smaller sizes have a much smaller striped elastic.

The styles are pretty much the standard for Gregg Homme. They are the jock, string, boxer brief, brief, and thong. Each one has the low key waistband. It’s low key for me since it’s white with black letters and the GH logo! The white is a perfect choice for against the bold colors.

Check out all these pairs at the Gregg Homme site. I really like this line and I could see it at the gym without other guys turning their heads!

What would a new collection for Gregg Homme be without some mesh? I think it would be blaspheme. They are well known for their super sexy mesh pairs over the years. GH makes some of the sexiest and most comfortable underwear on the market. I would beg to say this is this equivalent to women’s lingerie. The new line is called Encore +.

Gregg Homme says this about the new collection:

Gregg Homme introduces the Encore +. The mesh stripe gives a small glimpse of your package and is made of a soft German knit that has a delicate shimmer effect

This line gives you just a hint of skin but leaves enough covered for the imagination. The colors are another great thing about the collection. They are Black, Khaki, and Magenta. My favorite by far is Magenta. It just POPS. The other colors, such as the black, can show a bit more skin or with the Khaki a bit less.

There are the typical styles in Gregg Homme. Jock, Pouch, Boxer Brief, Thong and Brief. The Pouch is more of a g-string than a thong. It’s great that they make two different styles of thongs. No matter what your preference you will have a style you love in this line.

The last thing is the fabric. Gregg Homme goes above and beyond on fabric. They source the most incredible and best fabric for men’s underwear on the planet. I don’t know how they have time to find such fabrics. You can almost garuantee that it will be some of the best feeling undies you have ever worn!

So I wanted to build off of UNB Tim’s post from June 14 discussing a swim brief/thong challenge. I have had the opportunity over the past month or so to wear a few different styles of swimwear out on the beach. I know (NOT THONGS) you’re all wondering why I would do that, so I’ll explain a bit. A few of the beaches around the area are not thong friendly, and I have to either wear a regular bikini, a swim brief (speedo) or submit to wearing some form of shorts. Since I LOVE my tan lines, I tend to stick with something as close to my usual thong style as possible.

A few weeks ago, my daughter wanted to go to the beach while she was home from college, and we combined the beach trip with a daddy/daughter day trip. We did a couple of things and then hit the beach. As I already knew that the city of Virginia Beach, VA is not thong friendly, I packed my Joe Snyder Bulge Boxer in wet look black as I knew it would be safe for me to wear on the beach there. When we arrived at the beach and picked out a spot, I quickly set up our chairs and towels, and slid out of my shorts and settled into my chair. Nobody around us blinked or batted an eye as I sunned in the tiny suit. I even got up several times with my daughter, walking along the beach, and also took a dip together to cool off. Once again, nobody gave us the first look, glare, or made me feel otherwise uncomfortable.

A week or so later, after my daughter left to go back to school, I had a doctors appointment at the beach. I decided to try my luck and see how I did in the same location with a different suit. Once again, no thongs allowed-this time I picked out a more daring suit, my Joe Snyder Bulge Bikini in the new blue lines fabric.

After my appointment was over, I made my way to the beach, set up my chair and towel, and stripped down to my new suit. As it wasn’t a thong style rear, I knew I’d be ok in Virginia Beach again, but I’m not gonna lie, it still shows off quite a bit of your cheeks, so I was still a bit apprehensive about wearing it on such of a conservative beach. Once again I was very pleasantly surprised. Nobody paid the first bit of attention to me, neither by staring at me, making any rude comments/gestures, or complaining about my suit. I spent a few hours sunning on my front and rear without incident.

Fast-forward to today-my daughter is still away at school, and my wife hasn’t felt well, so I decided to head to a different spot to catch some sun. I chose to visit Buckroe Beach in Hampton, VA. I thought that it was also a no-thong beach, once again I packed my Joe Snyder Bulge Bikini in the new blue lines fabric since I had already had a successful trip with it. When I arrived at the beach park, I walked north of the pier and set up my chair and towel. I slid off my shorts and settled into my chair for some sunrays. Immediately I noticed the same lack of stares, comments, or lack of comfortableness many of us associate wearing a small suit on a public beach. I felt comfortable in this bikini today at the beach, even being amidst a large crowd of people. Nobody pointed, laughed, took pictures, or anything. I spent all afternoon today at the park, alternating between sunning and swimming in the water. I even felt comfortable enough to pull the suit up and expose a little more of my cheeks (to minimize the impact on my tanlines of course). When I got ready to leave for the day, I noticed a police officer parked watching over the beach. I have to complement the department on this gentleman’s professionalism as I approached him to inquire about the legality of thongs on this beach. He quickly informed me that there was no ordinance against thongs in general, that they saw a limited number every year, and that there was no parking rule prohibiting them. I even asked if it was ok for men and women to thong there to which he told me yes! I can’t wait to go back there and sun my cheeks in a thong!

I wanted to share these experiences with everyone because I know there are a lot of people reading the blog who are very apprehensive about wearing a swim brief or thong for the first time. I want to encourage each of you to try it. Maybe it doesn’t need to be around friends or family the first time, or in your front yard while washing your car or doing yard work, but if you are interested in wearing something out of the norm you should go for it. People, in general, are not anywhere near as mean as you think they are and will be much more accepting than you think. I have found that beaches that are mixed with various cultures will be much more open to different swimwear styles, and beaches that are full of the same type of people (big trucks, flags, board shorts) may be less accepting of what you decide to wear. Either way, be sure that you ask questions if you are unsure if a specific type of swimwear is “legal” at your beach do your research first. Ask a police officer, or if you’re anxious about sparking that conversation, either call or email your questions ahead of time. PLEASE don’t take advice from me as comprehensive legal council-do your own research! I mainly wanted to share my positive experiences over the past several weeks wearing minimal swimwear and interactions with others. Please don’t think that the police or beachgoers are out to get you ask questions, be friendly to others, and just act natural and nobody’s going to make a big deal out of your swimwear choices. Drop us a line here and let us know about how your first (or 100th) experience goes this summer wearing a new suit. I am also available on IG (unb_ryan) or twitter (unb_ryan) if you have any questions or wanted to tell me about your experiences there!

It’s a great time to be in the market for underwear. Gregg Homme has released their new collection. As you would expect there are some super hot pairs in this lineup. I mean, would you really expect anything else from them. We will cover all the lines but the first we are going to show you is the High-Line. There will be about 8 more lines to show over the next four weeks.

The High-Line comes in 5 different styles, from a thong to a t-shirt. It is made of a slightly sheer Italian technical fabric combined with an exclusive laser cut embroidery. Gregg Homme is always on the cutting edge of underwear design. This isn’t the first time they have used this technology. You may be asking what does it matter? Well, it makes a super crisp cut and the fabric won’t run. This allows them to create more intricate patterns and designs.

This line just comes in black. And that’s perfectly fine with me. It’s perfect for the mesh fabric. Some have it in the back and others in the pouch. Made with

These undies were furnished by Debriefed and the opinions are that of the reviewer.

Another new brand for me: Debriefed!  After visiting their site, I see they sell other brands as well as their own and their overall theme is inclusion.  Their long-term goal is to expand the brands they carry to offer a selection of great, affordable undies.  I loved the look and feel of these as soon as I opened the package so we were off to a good start.

The first thing you notice with the Debriefed Botanicals, aside from the fun, floral print, is that they are soft.  Really soft! (95% modal and 5% spandex)  They have a contrast gray waistband, leg and pouch trim which was also covered in the same, soft fabric rather than bare elastic, which I appreciate.

I tried a medium, which says it covers a 33-36” waist.  I’m a 32 and they fit just right – not even a little too big, so you might want to size up.  These have a nice pouch and plenty of stretch but they are not cut on the big side.

I decided to break these in on a Saturday running errand, then hanging out at home followed by dinner out.  They felt great as I pulled them on and got things adjusted.  The rear, however, definitely rides up.  A lot.  The trim around the legs is very light and thin, which makes them comfortable, but it doesn’t hold them in place and almost immediate, up they went.  I don’t have much of a butt and the bottom 1/3 of each cheek was showing.  That can actually be kind of sexy in my opinion, but it’s not for everyone.  If you have a lot going on in the back, you’d practically be wearing a thong after bending down once or twice.  This was really the only issue I would foresee someone having with this pair.  I actually have some other briefs with a very similar cut and the same thing happens with them, as well.

I’ll be wearing these again and will try other styles from Debriefed.  I like what they’re about and the prices are pretty fair – except for shipping, but that’s what happens when your undies come from halfway across the world.  They even throw in a gift after you spend a certain amount.

It’s time for more CAMO, who’s ready? BodyAware has released the new Camo Neoprene Bulge Brief. This isn’t the first Neoprene brief they have created. Last year they had the Bulge Brief in solid black. This year it’s this Neon pair along with a solid black tanga and thong.

This pair is special. It is designed to be a pair of underwear or a pair of swimwear. It can do double duty. Unlike most double duty pairs, this one looks awesome and I think I would prefer to wear it as swimwear, more than underwear. If you wear as underwear it will be very hot. So, I wouldn’t wear it on a day when it’s above 70 degrees. It could be great for winter since Neoprene doesn’t breath.

This pair is made out of soft neoprene, which is 100% polychloroprene. The extra definition pouch are creates bulk to show off a bit and is lined for comfort. If you have worn neoprene, the lining is definitely welcome. It isn’t the most comfortable fabric unlined. One thing you should know is that this pair is to be hand washed and dried. BodyAware will include instructions on how to care for the pair. This could be a deciding factor for you, if you buy the pair.

BodyAware always is creative in their designs It amazes me what they come up with in each release. It ranges from lace to neoprene and everything in between. They are one of the most creative brands in design. You can tell they enjoy what they do and a lot of us really enjoys their underwear, swimwear and bodysuits.

If you want this pair head over to the BodyAware site. It’s perfect for the guy who wants to try neoprene as it’s not too expensive!
