My main goal when I started UNB was to show all guys, great underwear is for everyone. Regardless of age, body size, sexual orientation or anything. I kept the coverage in the middle of the road and it gained us quite a few straight followers over the years. We even gained quite a few straight writers.

Fetishwear used to be just for the leather bar. It was guys in leather standing around with cigars in a drinking beer. Now that’s not the case. There are more kinds of fetishwear outside of leather. There is spandex (singlets), satin, lace, rubber, leather-inspired and of course leather.

As you see fetishwear is defined by the guy. It’s now as diverse as our readers. It’s really great to see guys embracing their fun side. Like regular underwear, you should feel sexy and awesome in anything you want to wear. If it makes you feel great and sexy wear it! Have fun in it and own it.

I have discovered one big thing by doing the blog. Straight guys regular underwear could be considered fetishwear. They want to wear that thong or bikinis and have it lead to fun with their partner. And some of them really can’t do it right now. They get looked at like it’s strange or not manly. The way underwear is viewed by a lot of the mainstream people.

In covering fetishwear we will cover everything. I know some of you won’t be into it but remember there are others who are and love it. We will cover all mentioned above and more. If there is something you want to see us cover just say so! We will look into and present it to you guys!

Since we don’t do Swimwear Sunday in the fall/winter months, I thought this was appropriate to run on a Sunday. The first question is why did we create the swim brief challenge? And why is this so important to us at UNB?

Why did we create the Swim Brief Challenge?

I have always been a proponent of wearing swim briefs. I have worn them since my late teens and to the present. I don’t have the swimmers body but to hell with what people think. In my younger days, I was more bolder and didn’t care what anyone thought. I have been on the beach with only me in them. I know people prob pointed and laughed when I wasn’t looking but I didn’t care.

Flash forward to UNB and I was talking to a friend who wears them all the time. He asked me, “Why don’t you really challenge guys to wear swim briefs?” He meant to create a challenge and have guys take it. That very first year we really pushed it. We did many posts and really went all out. Years since then we have taken a more low key method of promoting. But we still run it a few times throughout the summer.

In the last two years, we have added the Swim Thong challenge. More guys have skipped from the shorts to the thong. This was something I didn’t see coming. But in the last two year, the swim thongs have taken off with gay and straight guys. It’s great to see the popularity of the style.

Why is this important?

Over the years talking to both gay and straight. They have always wanted to wear swim briefs anywhere they wanted to go. That includes public beaches, family trips, cruises and more. Society, in general, doesn’t accept men in anything that shows a bulge on a guy. If it does then “OMG the children!!!”

We want more acceptance and not have the swim brief be a fodder for insults and jokes. It’s not easy to do in this day an age. There is still a dichotomy in general. There are those of us who love gear and those who don’t. I hope we can get more of the general public to either not care or encourage guys to wear them.

This is how this feature came about and why we do it every year. If you guys take or have taken it to let us know we inspired you to step out of the swimwear box and enjoy yourself for a day or several years!

This week I’m going to write a series of posts on the inner workings of UNB. Some stories you may or may not have heard. I hope
you all enjoy them and get to know why I have done things over the years.

We have done our own shoots since 2010/2011. I always felt we needed to do shoots. The early shoots had more real guys. They were not classified or had ever worked as models. But we got negative feed back from some in the industry and readers. I wanted ‘real guys” and that was my vision for the earlier shoots.

The Early Shoots

These we kinda struggled on. Having never done shoots it was a little bit of getting thrown in the deep end. We had too many pairs in the begging. In one shoot we had 70+ pairs. It was a pure nightmare. The shoot went for hours. After that shoot I said never again. And so far we have kept to that.

We had a lot of models just drop out or no show. We had several shoots that almost weren’t. The 2012 and 2013 holiday shoots almost didn’t happen. Models fell out the night before and that day. We had Matt who got on his phone and found some great guys. It got to the point instead of booking 2-3 models I would book a minimum of 6 in hopes 2 would show up.

One thing I learned quickly is you have to be organized before the shoot. The first really didn’t have a shoot list. It was here is Brand A then Brand B and so on. Now I create a document that lists all and the shoot order. So there is no question on what the guys will wear or what we will shoot.

The Current Shoots

The current shoots are a dream to do and manage. Taylor Campbell, our photog we use, can get the most amazing shots. He will take some and go ok done. The first time I was worried we didn’t get the shot. After seeing the pics I was like “Damn he got several shots.” So now when he says he got it, we move on. I trust him with pics we need.

Our current group of models is amazing. Andrew, Martin, Jacob, Chandler have been the core of the guys. They are always dependable. They aren’t in every shoot because I like to rotate guys in major shoots. I don’t want you guys to go “oh it’s Andrew and Martin again, seen it.” I want you to go “Oh Andrew and Martin are BACK!”

One thing I want to up our game on is video. I am the videographer and run the shoot. It’s a bit much for me to do all myself. I need to branch out and get someone to do the video for me. Some videos have been amazing and others I get the footage and go “Dear God, what the hell is this.” I can say this because I took the video. I have a few ideas for the future.

The Future Shoots

One thing I want in future shoots is more autonomy. More doing our own thing and taking it back to our roots. In previous shoots from 2013ish on we have brands pay to be in the shoot. This time we are going to allow brands in for free but we will pick what we want to shoot. So just because a brand submits it doesn’t mean we show everything we received.

I was planning a few shoots in my mind. Now note these are planned and not set in stone. But there are a few shoots I want to do:

  • Real guy shoot – that has a very body positive message
  • Thong shoot – thongs are very popular among all guys.
  • Swim Thong Shoot – a real shoot of guys on the beach in thongs
  • Superhero shoot – this has been long in the works no details just know I’m going to make this happen
  • Work out wear shoot – Set in a gym and locker room

Video is big in the future. I want to do a true behind the scenes with talking to the guys and showing fun moments of the shoot. I also want to create our own short length videos as well. But video is a whole nother beast.

These are my insights into the world of UNB photos and videos past, present and future.

I had big plans to work on UNB this weekend. I have a to-do list of about 20 things to accomplish. But, passing a kidney stone followed by throwing out my back (the same day I pass the stone). Made this weekend pretty much a lay in bed and watch Netflix. This past week I felt like it was time fo some new gear. Some are going to be reviewed on UNB and some are just for me.

One thing I love is singlets. One brand I have wanted to try and may get another is Gruff Pup. He has some of the best singlets. I got two. One for me and one for a new reviewer. The two we got were the Impulse singlet and Combat singlet (with a cut out). I’m trying the camo, and a cutout singlet is new for me, I figured why not!

Next up are some clearance suits from Sluggers. I love their swimwear and they had a massive clearance sale where you get a pair of swim for $14.99 US. I got two pairs. So i”m super excited about them. Now i need a place to wear them!

Last in the group is the Skinzwear thong we profiled last week for Thong Thursday. It’s a swim thong for 20 bucks. I ordered one to give it a try. I haven’t had a swim thong in many years. Scruffy Gear blog has encouraged me as well as Bikinisnthongs. This will be a review but I don’t think I’ll have an actual swim review more of an overview.

I have the singlets the rest I”m waiting for more to come in the mail. I hope to have a few new Andrew Christian pairs as well. Stay tuned. I”m taking it easy until the back is better, It’s way better but not great!!

We did a totally non-scientific poll about what you guys wore last year. I expected more of you guys to weigh in but those who did it was very much Swim brief as the main style. But I know so many of you out there still aren’t wearing the style. A large group want to wear them but still are hesitant. But here are our results

You guys wear everything. But most is Swim Briefs and thongs are picking up to third place. More and more of you guys want to wear the swim thong. I just bought my first swim thong in a long time. I”ll keep you posted on how it goes.

The Main styles you guys wear were swim briefs and swim thongs. It’s prob the two more popular on our site. I made sure I put in Nude this year because we have a few readers who prefer nude over swimwear.

You guys wore more than one pair of swim this summer. I believe in having 3-4 pairs of swim per season. In my younger days I would have 8 or more pairs. I mean I would never wear the same pair twice to a swim party. LOL

We still need some work in convincing our friends to wear some swim briefs. We have to keep spreading the word of the swim brief. How comfy they are, how amazing they feel and it’s for all guys.

If you didn’t take the poll there is still time.

It’s time to embrace the fetish side! One company that I love is Slick It Up! They have some of the best spandex fetish gear on the market. The only downside is being a tall guy they don’t make my size. I could look at it as a bad thing or a good thing I don’t tell them to “Shut up and take my money.”

One of the new pairs mixes two things guys are loving. The first is a thong, and the second is spandex. The Metallic Purple Fantasy One Piece Body Thong. It’s got a really long name for something so hot and skimpy! The pair from the front looks like a brief and harness. But in the back, you see the thong and how it goes together. It’s pretty sexy. I mean, WOW. I said this as I first saw this pair.

I think it’s time we start having fun in our gear. The gay guys have been for years (but don’t get me started on guys, not into gear.). The more straight guys I talk to, they want to incorporate underwear and gear into their fun times. I think it adds something to the “fun time,” But maybe I have a biased opinion!

Where did the creativity for this pair come from? They say it’s a mix of Skeletor and Barbarella. And it could be very retro or futuristic, depending on your point of view. It’s definitely a look that will get you noticed where ever you wear it. I have a feeling many spandex bar nights may see guys in this pair or maybe some go go dances.

One last thing. They say it’s made by a slutty magical enchantress in Manhattan. If that’s the case I need to get to know her to make some awesome gear for me!

One of my favorite brands in the world of underwear has a new line out. It’s called the Ergowear Max Mesh. You maybe thinking it’s the super sexy mesh but it’s not. Sorry mesh fans, this is more of a sports mesh, rather than see through mesh. There are two colors in this line. One is the cooling (blue) as you see above and boiling (red).

The official description is:

This season, Ergowear proudly introduces two new colors to MAX MESH: Boiling & Cooling. These men’s midcut boxers in cooling blue feature our MAX pouch and signature MESH fabric, whose fibres are woven to create a flexible, net-like fabric which is ultra elastic and resistant, making these garments the ideal pal to add to your attire when taking sports or going out for adventure. The three-dimensional MAX pouch will enhance your natural assets and provide the support needed when doing physical activities by separating testicles from thighs, giving you freedom of leg movement 360º. Also, our customized Ergowear elastic waistband gives them extra support and that modern gym look you are looking for

This range has a Mid Cut (above), boxer, jock, bikini and thong. The pairs are topped with a black waistband with the “Ergowear” name in the same color as the pair. The Max pouch is one that is up there on my all time pouch list. If you need great support and super comfy feel, this pouch won’t disappoint.

This line is perfect for working out or being active. The moisture-wicking technology will keep you cool during the toughest work out. It is also perfect for every day wear. If you are like me and live in the south, it’s a great summer pair, or in our case a hot fall pair!! Check out the entire range!

This Edipous Micro Bikini was furnished for review by the brand. The opinions expressed are that of the reviewer.

Rating: 8/10 (Average of the Rating Below)

• Daily Fit: 7/10
• Sizing 9/10
• Styling: 9/10
• Performance 10/10

Pros:
• LOVE THE POUCH- Quite possibly the best pouch on ANY pair of underwear I have ever worn. Supportive, roomy, and conforms to whatever you bring to the table. Large or small the fabric and construction gives enough yet holds your good secure. Simply Outstanding.
• Breathable! Never once do I get a sweating or moist feel wearing these. For a non-cotton brief, these feel so light and refreshing.
• Waste band- Like most of its construction, very forgiving and not “cutting” into your waist. Stretchy yet not squeezing to the point it becomes a high-rise brief. Not Bad at all Edipous!

Cons:

• Bikini Back- Well by now most of our readers may know, I am a thong guy or a boxer brief guy on occasion. While this is the first brief I have owned, it has confirmed my suspicion that most briefs for me quickly become a thong with extra fabric. Maybe it’s my butt construction, but slowly and surely these briefs ride up between my cheeks and low and behold its essentially a thong, a less comfortable thong.
• Does this pouch come on an Edipous thong? I hope…investigation to follow…

UNB Shawn Recommendations

All and all, it is a bikini brief and it’s got to be one of the more comfortable ones out there, but I am thong guy what can I say? The brief hints at a sexiness, but to me is not at pleasing to the eye or as functional for that matter than a well-designed thong. If I want to tone down the sexiness, boxer briefs are functional and don’t ride up my cheeks, briefs well does neither for me. Happy Shopping UNB readers. Find your style and OWN IT!

Underwear has been my first love since I can remember. Wearing amazing underwear is now a given every day. However, there is another love I have and that’s spandex gear. It started with bike shorts and moved to runners and then to singets. I would wear these to the gym to work out and even wore them out to do errands once.

Spandex gear is making a comeback in the fitness world. Runners are becoming popular with guys who run, work out and do cross it. Before when you wore these pairs you could be considered “less manly.” That stigma is going for the most part. Now we face gyms that allow spandex for women but not men.

We aren’t talking about the super sexy gear out there. The ones made to show off the bulge has mesh cut outs or super skimpy cut. You know what we are talking about, it’s fetishwear.  We do have some who would wear these to the gym and not care what anyone thinks. More power to you, if you do!

Guys are being told that they can’t wear these to the gym. These are guys who are not blatantly showing off a bulge. They feel comfortable with the extra support and range of motion of the runners. I have talked to many guys about how they hate wearing baggy shorts on leg days and doing squats. The runners aid their work out and they feel great wearing it.

Some of these have built-in support and that allows you to wear these without underwear. However, you can wear undies under them. A lot of guys are wearing thongs to not show underwear lines while others are wearing jocks for a little extra support. It all depends on what the guy feels most comfortable in and wearing.

If you wear these, I say keep on rocking them. As I begin my working out I do plan on wearing runners as well! They may be considered “sexy and not gym appropriate” but we say otherwise.

Are you looking for a pair of underwear that very few others have? Something that is solid, print, brief, or boxer brief? Or a combination of them all? If you do Clever Moda has quite a few awesome limited edition pairs. Sorry thong lovers there are no thongs in this collection.

The prints in the limited edition pairs are super fun! They are in the same family as the rest of the Clever Moda collection. Meaning they are super fun including geometric prints. You can find them in both briefs and boxer briefs/trunks. Speaking of Boxer briefs they have the regular and long length sizes.

The absolutely best thing about this collection is the price. When you think of limited edition, usually there is a big price that goes along with it. Not this line, all the pairs are currently $9.96. Yes, you read that correct, about ten bucks! So you can pick up a few different pairs at these prices. Cheap yes but it’s the same quality you have come to know from Clever Moda!

Head to the Clever Moda US site to see the entire limited edition range.

We bring you a quick overview of the new JOR Swimwear. Just like the underwear, this carries over the Circus theme into swim. Don’t worry, if you are a fan of the regular swim they have that too. Including some new thongs, bikinis, briefs, and trunks. JOR always makes amazing and creative swim. They make sure prints are included on each line. There is a great mix of classic and prints.

Here are some new pics featuring the swimwear line. See all the line at the JOR International store.

One of the hardest challenges in selling (and no doubt buying) men’s underwear and swimwear online is knowing what it will feel like. If something is made of pure cotton, silk or, say, leather, you know what you’re getting. But what about mixed yarns or manmade fabrics, which not only mimic but often beat natural materials when it comes to tactile pleasure? Expert retailers like Deadgoodundies.com in the UK work extra hard to provide a solution, giving as much detail as possible in product descriptions. As founder Adam Davies says: “We do our best to convey what you see but can’t touch. We ensure all our product info is consistent and always mention specifics like a shiny or matt finish, texture, transparency and how snug the fit will be.”

Watch out for DGU’s new UK exclusives this month.

Modal happens to be made from trees, but it’s an ideal fabric for men’s underwear. The soft feel is divine, it can be fine and still fit like a dream, and modal holds colour beautifully. Every talent is epitomised in Ergowear’s rather special modal undershorts.

LIMITED EDITION RASPBERRY & LEMON EXCLUSIVE TO DGU IN UK

ERGOWEAR MAX MODAL BOXER £21.00

Silky and sleek, translucent and sexy – AND in six colours from black to watermelon and yellow. Joe Snyder’s Polyester Collection ticks all the boxes.

WHOLE RANGE EXCLUSIVE TO DGU IN UK

JOE SNYDER POLYESTER COLLECTION MINI CHEEK 22 £30.00

Seriously clever men’s underpants – you could never tell just from the picture that these sporty slips have smart temp fabric offering thermoregulation that actually switches on and off as needed.

SLOGGI mOve FLY SPORTS BRIEF £20.00

Enhancing briefs for men? Easy to spot. Made from 95% cotton so wonderfully breathable? Good choice. In stunning orange (Saxon), blue (Roxwell) or pink (Newbury)? Noted. But did you know these are designed to cater for gents who need a little more room up front? Now you do.

SUKREW NEWBURY COTTON BRIEF £14.99

At first glance this sultry male brief could be made from various fabrics. It has the glisten of wet look but feels like satin. DGU always details fit too – in this case the way a full central seam on the front creates a good shape.

OLAF BENZ RED 1804 RIO TANGA £30.00

Not entirely obvious until you look closer… This lovely male thong has quick release clips either side of the pouch. And the translucent fabric has to move to reveal the full effect of a red-green shimmer described so carefully by DGU.

L’HOMME INVISIBLE TRITON STRIPTEASE STRING £28.00

It’s underwear release season. One company that always has super fun undies is JOR. This collection is inspired by the circus. There are bright colors, amazing prints, and super fun workout gear. JOR is one of the creative brands on print creation. Each collection always has graphic prints and sometimes geometric.

This collection all the graphic prints are inspired by the circus. You have some with the circus barker, clowns, sugar skulls and more. Each one has it’s own distinct color palette. Each line has a trunk and brief as standard styles. Others will have a jock, thong, tank or tee in addition. I wish they had all the styles in the prints.

If you aren’t a fan of prints, don’t worry the standard solid colors are still here! The new colors are on the bright side of the spectrum. Bright pink, purple and more! There are some of the classic black, white and navy. I think JOR is one brand that makes undies to cover all likes in the underwear spectrum.

Some of the favorites of you guys are thongs and briefs. We are sure you will find something you will love in this collection. While I was looking, I knew that I had to have quite a few of the pairs. It’s more like what I don’t want than what I want.

The line was just released!! In addition to underwear, there are new swimwear and activewear! We will be giving you an overview of each of these lines. But make sure you go to the international JOR store to see all the new and classic pairs on sale now!

Do you like something fun in underwear? A little bit of fetish but still a lot of fun to wear? Then new Pikante line is for you. Pikante has always been a little over the top, a little fetish, and a whole lot of fun. This collection checks all those boxes. One of the biggest trends in underwear right now is harnesses. They just add a little fun to the gear.

This collection has harnesses built into several pairs in the line. If you’re not big on them in an all in one design, they also have separate harness. Either way they literally have you covered. More and more guys are wearing them. They just add fun to the underwear drawer. Also, the all in one come on a few fun designs like thongs. It’s worth checking out if you want something fun.

What would a Pikante line be without having some mesh! It’s been a staple of the line for many years. Pikante is about making sexy, yet fun underwear. This line has some great jocks and briefs with mesh panels. Mesh is one that you guys can’t get enough of in your drawer. They make great date night undies or just something fun to wear under your work clothes. That could be a suit or coveralls!

Last we have thongs. You can see in the pic they are more elaborate, for a lack of a better word, in their thong designs. I mean, when have you ever seen Pikante be classic. It’s all about getting in touch with your wild side and having fun! If you want classic undies, Pikante is not the brand for you.

However, if you want lace, harness, mesh, cutouts and more. Then Pikante is for you. Head to Candyman Fashions to see the entire collection. It’s a super fun collection that may let you step outside your comfort zone and have some fun!

We are sure you know who Sean Alexander is even if you didn’t know his name. He has been in many Aronik Swim pictures over the last few years. He is also one of the founders of Model Trainers NYC,  along with models Nick Sandell and Michael Dean. The business seems to be thriving. Sean has added something else to his resume, an underwear designer. His line is called Sean Alexander.

The new line just has just one pair, the “Timeless Trunk.” Which is a classic cut trunk in black. I give Sean props for starting small. Plus this pair really matches his personal brand. I see more classic cuts coming to the line. I don’t think we will see a thong or something on the wild side.

Another thing he is bringing to the brand is his philanthropy. He and his fellow Model Trainers often post about clothing drives and other charity events in their Instagram stories and social media. “Each time you treat yourself or a loved one with a piece by Sean Alexander, a contribution is made to help those in need of clothing. Look good, feel good, do good.”

If you buy a pair between now and Oct 31 you can enter to win!. “Post a pic of your trunks on “Instagram with hashtag #SeanAlexanderUndies — one entrant will win a coffee with Sean Alexander himself. Selection takes place Oct 31, 2018.” So I hope you guys go check out the new line and we will report on when more pairs are released.

Satin gear to me is super sexy. I love the feel of the material on my skin. It just feels so nice. I know it gets a negative rap from some guys out there. It’s labeled as a fabric for women and not men. I think those days are gone, the line between what men’s underwear can be made out of is falling away. Which is a great thing because it’s giving us a lot more options!!

Thongs have started to take over a lot of the men’s underwear world. But the good ole jockstrap isn’t going any where. One brand that has some great jocks is 2(X)IST. They have the new Military Sport Jock. I really like this jock a lot! I’m just a bit bummed the green is sold out.

This is the official description from the 2(X)ist website:

Our best selling jock silhouette has gone military. Crafted from our signature Speed Dri fabric, this jock strap keeps you cool and dry during even your most intense workouts while the contrast colored leg straps transform a basic performance garment into a fashion statement. The Original Contour Pouch provides extra support.

The thing that caught my eye was the contrasting leg straps. Has this been done before? Probably but I can’t remember an execution this good! The contrast is amazing and pops. The Green/Orange one is the one I saw, I was like I WANT, darn it! But the other colors are awesome. The navy/yellow is just as fun! If I had to guess why the green sold out is the whole camo feel with the green/orange.

This jock is more of a fashion jock. Not saying you can’t wear it to work out, in fact, they encourage that in the description. The waistband is about 1 inch, whereas a traditional jock is 3 inches. The leg straps are smaller and the pouch is not a nylon mesh. Yes I have a strict definition as to what is a classic jock.

This is one of the best jocks I have seen in a while! I hope you guys will check it out!

If you’re like me, you love prints! Our reader survey shows us that a lot of you love prints and colors in your underwear. One brand that makes some of the most amazing prints is Mundo Unico. They are a Columbian underwear brand that we have covered on UNB. In the last few years, their presence in the US market went down. But now they are making a resurgence in the industry.

The thing I love about them, other than the amazing pouch, is the prints they come up with. Some of them are abstract while others can be geometric. It’s always something new and exciting with them! The pics here show boxer briefs/Trunk, but don’t worry they have briefs, which are amazing, and some jocks. They, unfortunately, don’t have the thongs anymore. As a non-thong guy, they were my favorite thongs. The pouch in front was amazing and the back fit awesome.

This collection is one that I just love. It’s one you must see online rather than take my word of it. There are so many pairs that you must see. I couldn’t pick a few to profile here. You can go to the Mundo Unico page at Candyman Fashions to see them all. Trust me you won’t be disappointed.

We have just one more Swimwear Sunday this year! The unofficial end of swim season is fast approaching, Labor Day. After the holiday there are less and fewer trips to the beach! It’s time to prepare for fall and winter. That doesn’t mean we won’t cover new swimwear for the rest of the year but it will no longer be a regular feature. Swimwear Sunday will start back up in April of 2019.

This week’s pair is one of the classics of men’s swimwear! The N2N Bodywear University Sport Brief. This line has been in N2N Bodywear for a long time! It’s has included a swim brief, jammer, and thong. All inspired by the University colors! While not a specific school you can adapt it to fit your favorite school.

Some of the features of the pair are:

  • Contour pouch
  • Back branding
  • Outer drawcord
  • Unlined

It’s one of the best selling pairs at N2N. I have no evidence of this but being in the collection for so many years it would follow reason it would be a great seller. There are three colors on this pair that make it a very eye-catching design. The pouch is one of the best, N2N really knows how to make a pouch. Many of my favorite swimwear is from them just because of this reason!

This year’s selection is a little more subtle. In the past, they have been blue, maroon and more. Sometimes you just gotta mix it up! The black is always a great choice for the beach. The little black swim brief is a look you can never go wrong with!

If you need some swimwear before the end of the year, check out the N2N Bodywear University Sport Brief.

We all love underwear but we have our pet peeves that drive us crazy about underwear. From tags to ill-fitting pouches. Here are you guys top factors that drive you crazy. They have been pretty much standard but at times things annoy you guys more than other times. I took a day break in the schedule for a much needed vacation.

We asked you 17 items in the previous reader surveys that annoyed you guys. Before this survey, it was a write-in question. After 3 years of data, we narrowed it down to these items. However, if guys could always write something in.

  1. Sizing Issues – this was no surprise. Sizing is one of the biggest issues we have had at UNB. The problems arise from sizing that runs small to brands with inconsistent sizing. It sucks when you get the perfect underwear, put it on, only to discover it’s’ too small/big.
  2. Labels/Tags – This one rotates in and out of the top spot. I have several pairs that I avoid wearing simply for the tag. One pair, in particular, I can’t take the tag off!. If it’s a great pair you can wear them inside out. But if it’s printed it may not look the same. More brands are starting to use the tagless tech in their undies.
  3. Pouch too small – Our endowed series has always been a big draw for guys. The pouch not being supportive and too small always ruins an experience. It’s not just for the bigger guys. There are brands that do run small in the pouch department.
  4. Pricing – Underwear is expensive! Especially great underwear.
  5. Store selection – This is for more in store rather than online. Or that’s my assumption. Department stores rarely carry a lot of the pairs we cover. They have several big brands but rarely branch out. Not to mention that they aren’t carrying many thongs.

These are the most annoying things about undies to you guys! Check out the rest of the list above.

Underwear is made for all. That is the philosophy here on UNB. Speaking as the big guy side, 6’4″ and over 275, I think I could be considered a big guy. Yes, I’m working on getting more healthy but I’m never going to have abs. It’s not a goal I have or for that fact ever had. I do want to get to around 225 or under and stay there.

I often hear on social media when we post a bigger guy in underwear, “OMG you shouldn’t be wearing that.” I have even gotten similar messages on “dating apps.” It’s like we shame bigger guys for wanting to be sexy. I personally thing beefy guys look amazing in singlets and swim briefs. I still wear them but it depends on where I am. I shouldn’t let it get to me and just rock them where ever I want, but society frowns on bigger guys.

My underwear I still rock my bikinis, string bikinis, briefs and more. I wear whatever I want too. I don’t listen to guys who post on dating apps about my underwear of choice. Also, I’m not really on those apps anymore. I want more out of a date than a fun time. I want to make a connection.

Here is a list of things bigger guys should not even think twice about wearing:

  • Bikini Briefs
  • String bikinis
  • Thongs
  • jocks
  • spandex
  • singlets
  • swim briefs
  • swim thongs

Next just because a guy is bigger waist doesn’t mean he’s out of shape. Look at @sixfootfiveguy on Twitter. He’s a tall beefy guy but not out of shape. He posted on twitter (I think) that he wanted something in XXL. I responded that its unlikely the brand only goes to Large.

The next thing we need to tackle is having pairs in our size. Many brands go only up to a 36 inch waist. Anything higher and you’re out of luck. Luckily there are a few good brands making larger sizes.
