In the next few weeks we will be in full swimwear season! Each year we have a challenge for guys to step out of their comfort zone and ditch the swim shorts, and wear a swim brief or thong. This year is no different, we want more guys to wear the swimwear they want to wear.

Each year we see more and more guys saying ‘to hell with it,” and wearing something they never had the courage to wear before! Which is awesome! We are curious as to what you guys are going to wear this year!

I think the John Sievers brand is one of those little know gems of the underwear world.  It’s not a brand you see guys on IG posing in or hear a lot about it.  We have covered it for a few years, but not as much as we should.

Why is it such a hidden gem?

Well, the pouch is fantastic.  This brand is made for guys who need and want a bigger pouch. The design is ergonomically designed.  Speaking from experience, the pouch is one of the best ones on the market.

Why hasn’t it caught on as much?

The reason is it’s only available at International Jock. It is one of their store brands.  So you won’t see it in retail stores or online stores.  This means if you don’t shop at IJ you probably have never heard of it before.

Why should you try it?

Outside of the fantastic pouch, which should be reason alone to try it.  I digress, and the line comes in so many different styles.  You can get a thong, trunk, brief, and even swimwear.   My personal favorite is the briefs because they give you full coverage in the back.

Check out the entire John Sievers line at the International Jock site

Supawear has made their very first thong. They have long been known for jocks, briefs, and trunks. However, they have never dipped their toe into the thong market until now. The new Pow line has the very first, I would say of many thongs to come. The pouch in the Pow features eXtra support.

Get the new new thong at the UNB store. Get 15% off the new thongs with code SupaThong, expires at Midnight on Tuesday March 3rd.

Next up UNB Readers is something I personally have sought for years – a form-fitting ruffle bikini. Now, you may be asking yourself, “That’s something strange to look for” to which I respond with “Not sure we can be friends” lol! Not really, but I do know like myself there are men out there who yearn for a good pair of ruffles to go to on those days you feel your sexy self or even the days you don’t. Fortunately for us all BodyAware answered the call and has made several entries into the ruffle market. Today’s review is dedicated specifically to the Camo Corkscrew brief, but be sure to look for other styles they offer for us ruffle lovers out there!

Please note All opinions of the review are my own and were not influenced by BodyAware.Rating: 9.6/10 (Average of the ratings below)

Daily Fit: 9/10
Sizing: 10/10
Construction: 10/10
Styling: 10/10
Daily Performance: 9/10

Pros:
Holds everything firmly in place
Breathable and lightweight
Perfect for letting the jeans or shorts hand a little low to show off!

Cons:
As expected, not to be worn on cold winter nights
If you don’t like giving a show, you will be checking your waistband all day
Doesn’t come in a thong

If you are looking to try out your first pair of ruffled underwear or have been a lifelong searcher (such as this writer) do yourself a favor and pick these up. They are comfortable for not only day to day but I guarantee whoever sees you in them will go bananas – including yourself so stay away from mirrors!

I am taking a deep dive look into what could become a hot button topic – ruffles. I know men of all kind read the blog, and I am sincerely hoping I get all kinds to read this particular review as I need help spreading the message. Ruffles are not just delicious chips or for women only; men need to take up the mantle and start requesting and wearing more ruffles! Personally I love the extra flair it gives underwear and on the days where a thong won’t work ruffles help make me feel just as good on the inside as they do outside. Much to my pleasure then when BodyAware re-released this pair as part of their Outlet store as I had the opportunity to pick them up!

I put my pair on as soon as they arrived and have cycled them in my weekly drawer since. These are fantastic for everyday lounging and moderate moving – don’t expect a super tight hold in the gym although if your a runner these might just be perfect. These were great to lounge around the house in and grab the morning paper. I definitely enjoyed wearing them on my trips to the store and out with friends. I did some heavier lifting and working out as well in them and found myself adjusting way more than I prefer.

For the amount of times I have worn and washed them the Camo Corkscrew Brief is holding up extremely well. I would firmly stand behind my ratings of 10 for both fabric and construction if questioned. Previous pairs that had ruffles either don’t fit quite right while falling apart almost immediately. Plus, with the added bonus of a muted mesh, you can give your special someone(s) a little peek without revealing the full show. BodyAware nailed it here and I am thrilled that I will have this pair for years to come!

BodyAware is consistent with their sizing from my experience with the company so you should be safe ordering your go to size. I wear a medium and these are just about what I expect with no complaints. That said, a forewarning to new ruffle wears – yes, there is supposed to be a touch of sag in the fabric but not enough to let everything move about like the back of a moving truck.

What more can be said at this point gang? Ruffles are the new hotness and us men need to get on it! Although BodyAware only lists Smalls in stock at the time of writing, they do have other ruffled offerings worth checking out. So don’t sit around missing all the fun – grab a pair and strut it for the world!

SHOW US YOUR JOCKSTRAPS AND NOW UNDERWEAR TOO

As you know, a number of years ago we started a website called Your Jockstraps so our customers and fans could share photos of themselves in their jockstraps. It took off and now there are over 6000 photos up online. It’s a 100% free social site for jockstrap enthusiasts to share photos and comment on others.

During these past years we’ve had numerous requests for a similar site but geared toward underwear – so how could we not listen. This week we launched Your Underwear. It’s practically identical in format except the focus is men’s underwear, swimwear, sportswear and fetish wear. So if you have some photos of yourself in some tighty whities or some skimpy thongs, some skin tight spandex shorts or some full-frontal display gear then we want to see it.

Both sites are powered by Disqus so you can leave some encouraging words to all those brave guys putting themselves (and their gear) out there on display.

Just keep in mind, both websites are uncensored so the photos are often Not Safe For Work!

I think Fetishwear deserves a spot on UNB. It’s part of men’s underwear that has been ignored by a lot of people before we started UNB. You had to go to fetish stores or look at the back pages of magazines to find it. 12 years later, more and more are embracing fetishwear. Which is amazing, and fetishwear means different things to different guys.

This is why we asked you what you liked and want to see more of on UNB. This was a super short survey but was great to hear from you guys. BTW, feel free to email us anytime to tell us what you want to see more of on the site.

The top fetishwear is Spandex, with singlets being at the top and spandex in general second. This comes as no surprise. In my journey, I went from underwear to swimwear, to spandex. Plus there is a resurgence of spandex gear on the market with singlets, runners and shorts all making a come back. Next is Lace and Men’s Lingerie. Which is awesome, because you guys want something out of the box. Lace has always had the “fem’ stigma. It’s starting to lose that and guys are embracing the fabric and loving it. I personally love the mix of masc and fem when someone wears lace. We have even had people tell us they mix leather and lace. They wear leather chaps with a lace thong. When UNB started in 2008, lace really wasn’t on the market yet, now we have a lot of different brands regularly making it and creating new and fun things. As for lingerie, I think we are still figuring this out. Companies I think are doing a great job at it is Gregg Homme. When I think of lingerie, I think of very high end and sexy. It’s made to look great but also fits great. In the next 10 years, we will have men’s lingerie lines similar to the top tier women’s lines.

What I call the traditional fetishwear is at the bottom, Neoprene, Leather, and Rubber/Latex. Which definitely deserves a place on UNB. I think neoprene will grow more and more. Its because it’s easier to take care of then other traditional fetishwear. I have leather, but no neoprene or rubber. For the rubber, it’s mainly the cost and care that has held me back from trying it.

Here are the brands you want us to cover. There is one surprise on this list. Go Softwear, they make some of the best singles on the market, in my opinion. We should cover all their singlets.

I think on Fetish Fridays we need to rotate brands and just profile something we find amazing at them. The bottom four are write-ins and they are great additions to cover as well.

I expected this post to be super short but as you can tell I love fetishwear. If you find new gear, let us know, it takes a village to share the knowledge.

The holiday of love is around the corner and it’s time to think of what you will be wearing for the big night.  Whether you are single or taken it should be a night of amazing Underwear.  Here are some amazing pairs to consider for Valentines

The Classic guy

Clever Moda Neron Classic Brief – Black is always sexy. Classic cuts are always something a guy should have in his underwear drawer. This pair is simple yet elegant.

Hawai Boxer Briefs – Believe it or not all guys love briefs or thongs. There are some out there who love trunks and boxer briefs. The Hawai boxer briefs are classic but still sexy.

Colorful guy

Jor Tribal Jockstrap – Color and cut are important for a fun night out. The Tribal Jock from JOR gives you support for an active night and some amazing colors. Not to mention a sexy cut for the big day.

Private Structure Bamboo Collection – the pink is the perfect pair for the guy who wants something colorful and fun for Valentine’s Day!

The bikini guy

Hidden Bikini Thong – If you love bikinis, you need something that adds a little something extra. The Hidden Bikini Jock has a strategic cut-out and mesh sides that show off just enough.

Jor Tango Bikini – Now this pair takes you to the next level. A mesh bikini in purple. While not a traditional Valentine’s Day color, it’s something outside the box that I think would be appreciated by anyone who would see you in this see through pair.

The fun guy

Candyman Thong – If you plan on going all out and doing something different. This lace thong from Candyman is perfect. It’s the right mix of masc and fem to get your evening started off right

PPU Jockstrap – The 1550 Jock has become a classic. It’s a jockstrap without a waistband. They have designed it so it’s a pouch and leg straps. It’s been in their line up for a few years and still going strong.

You can find all these pairs at the UNB store

We asked you guys what you plan to wear on Valentine’s Day. While not one of our most answered polls it was fun to run, none the less. There is one disappointment in the questions I’ll get to in a sec.

You guys are going to celebrate Valentine’s Day this year, even the single ones! Which is a great thing.

You guys are going pretty conventional for your Valentine’s Day. The majority of you guys are going to wear briefs, thongs, and jocks. I was hoping for more fetishwear! I know our straight readers are venturing into fetishwear. So let’s break out some fun gear!!!

This is my disappointment. Less than half of the guys who responded said their partners supported your gear love. And 25% said they don’t support. It’s time we work on that even more. I know during our bigger survey, the reader survey, more partners accept gear.

Go Single boys, 40% are going to celebrate singles appreciation day! I’m right there with you. But, I feel we should wear our favorite underwear every day!!

Lastly, we have what the single boys are going to wear. Thongs and Briefs it is!

Thanks for participating guys! I love doing polls/surveys and sharing the results.

One thing I’m really tired of is social media sites kicking guys off. We have had a lot of great guys be kicked off of Instagram (Facebook is just as bad), YouTube, and more. There is a significant double standard in the world of men’s underwear vs. women.

I personally know about ten guys who have either had their IG accounts shut down for violating Terms of Serice. These guys aren’t showing off sexual acts or even “sexually explicit” images. Once the guy’s accounts are deleted, they are gone., unless you got their contact info.

This affects brands as well as individuals. Yesterday we posted the new video by Clever Moda, featuring their Gypsy collection. Then I notice their entire account was terminated — a word used by YouTube.

We need a social media site dedicated to underwear that is not afraid of a bulge or butt showing in a thong. Where we can come together, gay or straight, and have fun talking about and sharing our love for underwear.

I”m working on an underwear social network for us to come together and want to know what’s important to you.

Do you love super sexy and fun undies? There is a new brand on the market and it’s called Hidden. Hidden is a brand that is all about fun. The designs and fabrics leave little to the imagination, but we can guarantee you will feel super sexy.

Like most brands, it has thongs, bikinis, briefs, and trunks. However, there are some twists on those designs. As you see on the pair above, it has some awesome cut-outs. Along with cutouts, there is mesh, skimpy cuts and more. These are the perfect date night undies (well, for as long as you wear them). Or, maybe a perfect pair for Valentine’s Day? HMM

Well here is a slide show of the awesome pairs, but it’s not all of them. Head over to UNB Store to find all the pairs.

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. It’s the night of passion for couples and feeling sexy for the single guys out there. Go Softwear has a new line called XoXo. The new line is perfect for Valentine’s Day, it’s made out of translucent red fabric. That means it’s going to show just enough….

This collection has the typical briefs, thongs and such. However, it also has some other sexy things such as a singlet, a step-in (short onesie) and a Shimmel (crop top). They are all in the same great fabric.

Hawai is a brand known for it’s classic designs and awesome prints. They just dropped a new collection for 2020! The new collection is more of a basics line, with solid colors that are on the softer side. I personally love the blue in the new line.

Have you heard about the new project put together by the same people who bring you Body Aware?  It’s called Ace + Indigo, and it is underwear with a mission.

Partnering with the Phoenix Rescue Mission, the goal of the project is use high quality underwear design and production to help provide for those in need.  The way it works, with each purchase made on the Ace + Indigo website the company will donate new underwear to the Phoenix Rescue Mission homeless shelter, providing men in need with a small but important  bit of comfort and cleanliness to help them with difficult transitions.

There is also a nice vision to the products designed by the company.  Working with a fabric manufacturing company in Portugal, Ace + Indigo is striving for an ethical business model from beginning to end.  The fabrics are all natural, made with the highest quality modal (they are using an extra fine knit fabric made from Beechwood tree fibers).  The factory in Portugal is committed to providing a supportive and equitable environment for all their employees.  And to top it all off, Ace + Indigo is committed to using only recycled and biodegradable materials for all their shipping!

It’s more than just an ethical, progressive business model, Ace + Indigo is making some really great looking products!  There are less choices than you can find here at Body Aware, but great things nonetheless.  I just got one of their bodysuits, and say without hesitation that it is the best bodysuit I’ve ever worn!  The fabric is soft, comfortable, and even sensual.  The fit has a nice snug and comforting quality, so you feel tucked in and supported all day long.  I highly recommend you give it a try!  I am also really eager to try their thongs.  I am really impressed with the colors they’ve developed in putting together this line.  There is nothing flashy, but it all looks rich and comfortable.I don’t know about you, but I really love great underwear.  And since I know I am going to be buying some soon, it seems reasonable to do so and also give to a worthy cause.  Giving underwear to a men’s shelter might not seem like much, but I can say from all of my own experience that good underwear can make me feel good about myself, make me feel cleaner, give a little spring of pride to my step, and help with a little extra confidence when I am giving a presentation or going in for an interview.  Little things matter, and I am glad to see the people who’ve given us Body Aware stepping out and trying something new, creating new products with a new business philosophy, and using what they do best as a way to reach out and help people going through difficult times and transitions.

What was the catalyst into discovering your love in underwear?

I’ve been into underwear so long, that I’m not sure what the initial catalyst was.  I remember always enjoying “fun” boxers that were double entendres, maybe with a cartoon that drew your attention to your crotch.   When I was in college, I was in a dance company.  I realized I couldn’t wear baggy boxers underneath whatever skin tight outfit they put us in.  I started buying “skimpy” underwear so I didn’t have to wear a dance belt.   Additionally, growing up, I was a butter face, or so I was told (seriously, I was rudely told), but my body looked good… and in underwear, it looked great.

Did your first pairs shape your preference for underwear?

No, my first pairs were whatever I could get my hands on.  I bought thongs, which I don’t have an affinity for, and tight boxer briefs, but ones that went way too far down the thigh.  I know what I love now and that evolved with time, it’s still evolving

What brands did you first buy and do you still buy them?

I bought whatever TJMaxx had available, and they were very unknown named brands like “Rips”.   2xist existed at Macys, so I had some of their stuff.  To this day, I still enjoy 2xist.  Once I started buying on the internet though, it was a whole new world.   I started at cheapundies.com and got no-name brands again like “Kyle” or “iNtense” or anything I could get that was inexpensive.  Later on, once I found Nasty Pig, Aussiebum, it was game ove

Were there people who influenced you? (friends, tv/movies, celebrities?)

My second boyfriend liked underwear and had a drawer full.  It made me realize it was ok to own an exorbitant amount.  His drawer was all white, grays, and blacks though.   I knew that I wanted more color and more variety than just a drawer full of tightie whiteys.   I didn’t really get influenced by models/celebrities because I knew looking like that would never be in my cards.  While I loved looking at them, it didn’t make me want to get them.  Almost the opposite, sexy underwear belonged on men like them, not boys like me

What is your style of choice (bikini, brief, thong, jock, boxer brief, etc)

Briefs and jocks are my go-tos.   Before I had body confidence, I was always proud of my butt.  I had been repeatedly told I had a great butt and calves, but those were the only things I ever got complimented on (remember the butterface).  I started buying more jocks with the mindset of “if you got, flaunt it”.  Briefs feel the best on me, and I love these the most.
