JOR0049-Black-A1-600x600Recently I have had the privilege to try new brands that I have never worn before, only expanding my underwear knowledge.  What I have enjoyed even more is that many of these new brands I am getting to try are offering more than one pair to review which lets me accurately decide how the brand is versus just getting lucky with one good pair.  So here I am on my second pair of JOR.  This time I reviewed the Rally Brief.  This black beauty appears to be a simple basic brief but is made of a nylon and spandex combination and completely mesh.  The see thru mesh definitely adds a sexual appeal to the brief, letting it stand apart from others in your drawer.

My usual test run of this pair consisted of another business work day with all of the usual movements to really test out a pair.  When I first slipped the pair on, they felt good.  The material was soft even with it being mesh.  After some of these recent reviews I have done, I have to admit that I underestimated mesh underwear.  They really do feel great and offer some amazing breath ability that you don’t always get in other styles of underwear.  The one thing I will say about mesh that makes me laugh a little is when you are adjusting yourself your finger can quickly and briefly get stuck in the mesh hole.  It reminds me of when you had to climb those nets in gym class back in the day and always got a foot stuck haha!  The see thru mesh was sexy yet tasteful.  I did notice that the brief is a little more full than what I am used to.  I enjoy the skimpier briefs and bikinis, while this one I feel is fuller on the sides and thigh.  This is great for guys looking to transition from boxer briefs to briefs or who enjoy longer briefs.  With that being said, the pair offers great coverage in the front and the back.  You may feel exposed in mesh but this pair holds everything where it needs to be and doesJOR0049-Black-A2-600x600 not ride up or skimp anywhere on the fabric needed to make you feel secure in your underwear.  The waistband is thicker than many pairs of underwear as well, just showing how this is made for guys who appreciate more fabric on their underwear.  The waistband shows off the JOR logo, complete with the signature star.

I wear a medium and feel that JOR truly lives up to its sizing requirements.  The pair fit excellent all around.  I had enough room and coverage in the front and back, the waistband was not tight or uncomfortable, and the pair stayed in place all through the day.  This is big!  How many times can you say a pair does that?

Overall I feel like JOR does not get as much exposure as they deserve.  This is a great brand with great designs and great underwear.  If you have not had an experience in JOR Underwear, what are you waiting for?

Pros:

  • Sexy mesh see through
  • Excellent coverage
  • Comfortable

Cons:

  • Fuller brief (if you prefer skimpier underwear)
  • Color selection

271758After my first try with Clever and wearing their thong, I was interested to see how other pairs in their catalog fit in comparison.  Next up on my review list was the Clever Spinel Latin Brief.  The first thing I noticed about this pair of underwear was the beautiful yet subtle design on the pair.  The white and gold brief has a white diamond on diamond design that doesn’t overdrive the pair of underwear but adds a little bit of style to what you would think is a simple white brief.  The brief is stretchable microfiber fabric made up of nylon and spandex, giving it the ability to stretch and fit to your body.  This is a great selling point for Clever because they are designing underwear that fits to your body, not something that your body has to fit to.  The waistband features the bold Clever logo in a metallic look that I find so visually stunning.

I prepared myself for a busy day at work and slid the pair on to accompany me.  The material felt great and the design looks nice when contoured to your body.  I did notice, similar to the Clever thong, that the pouch did not have much give when I slipped the pair on.  I immediately felt constricted and smashed and was nervous about the long day ahead.  Having read that the material forms a body defining wrap around your body, I hoped for a little bit of breathing as the day went on.  I will say that the information was accurate.  The pouch was actually more comfortable during the day than I thought it would be.  I expected to have that smashed feeling all day but in reality, my pouch was tight and comfortable with no other issues.  For guys who enjoy briefs that are low rise, this is another great pair to add to your collection.  It comes271767 right up to the top of the butt, adding to the sexy feel it gives you.  The coverage in the back was great, covering everything it needed to with no riding up during my day.  I wear a medium and felt like Clever was fairly true to that size.  Again, the only negative on the sizing is the pouch so well endowed men may have a harder time than the average man.  It does stretch but maybe not enough for those guys!

Overall I enjoyed my second adventure with Clever.  I think Clever is one of those brands who really makes simple designs pop and feel sexy.  I love their same color on color designs that take solid color underwear to another level.

Pros:

  • Design
  • Beautiful metallic, logo waistband
  • Comfortable, form fitting material

  • Tight pouch

ManView_MV4001_Green_1I am on a roll with the color block briefs! This is my second review of the last line released from ManView Bodywear. The first was the 1001 Campus Class Joker Brief. This time it’s the Campus City Boy Brief. This too has one of my favorite colors, GREEN! Although, its not a bright vibrant green but a more muted almost neon green.

The brief has a similar cut to the Campus Brief. The pouch and design is a good one. Is it my all time favorite? No, but it’s still a great pouch. Guys of all sizes should have ample support. This pair also same fabric blend of the Campus brief, a 94% Soft Cotton & 6% Spandex. This I will admit is one of my favorite blends of fabric.

I wore this not running around Vegas at Magic. I wore it later in the week when I came down with bronchitis. There is nothing worse than getting sick out of town. The good part is I came down with it the night of the last day of Magic. But It didn’t’ hit me till the next day, Friday. I spent the weekend with friends in Vegas and instead of having a great fun filled weekend. I spent the entire time on the sofa sleeping.

I think the highlight of the weekend was going to the minute clinic. So this was not put through the paces like the Campus Brief. But, I wills ay when you are sick that’s the time you want to wear great undies. You don’t want to wear something that will drive you crazy. It felt great, I have worn them again in a regular day and they did a similar job as the Campus brief.

The design is fun. I love the orange around the bottom. It runs half around the back to just below the pouch. One benefit of this is it sets off the pouch. It will accent with you have! Plus its different and fun.

Sizing is pretty much spot on. I didn’t have any issues with the pair. Being sick I didn’t notice any bonding or being too small. Trust me had I felt it they would have come off ASAP. Again if you look at the sizing charts you should have no issues.

Pros:

  • Loved the color design
  • Good Pouch
  • Great overall design

Cons:

  • Not a true green
  • Some may not like the color design

ManView_MV1001_Yellow_4The pair I am reviewing is ManView Bodywear Campus Brief. It is a long overdue review from when I was in Vegas in February. This is the third pair of ManView I have tried. The first was the 69 brief which ran way too small and the second was the Fire Brief, which was awesome and fit amazing! I loved this pair. I’m not sure where it is now.

The first thing about the Campus Brief that I loved was the colors. It has my two favorites Blue/Green. Green is my all time favorite color and it’s becoming rare in men’s underwear. The design has a color block design. I love how the pouch is a block of each color. If you aren’t a fan of blue/green it’s also available in yellow/grey for a more muted tone.

I wore this on not my busy day in Vegas but one where it was over 10,000 steps. The first thing that I liked was the pouch. It gave me ample support. The 94% Soft Cotton & 6% Spandex fabric was really nice. I liked the way it breathed and held it’s shape throughout the day. I have had pairs that didn’t offer support and on a busy day it just drives me insane. This pair felt great all day

ManView_MV1001_Green_1

The color block design is a big trend in men’s underwear. It’s a design that will catch your eye and can be used with any color combination you would want. This pair the blue/green just pops and looks amazing. I am not sure I would care for the other combo. I wished they had a few more color combinations. I think the blue/red or a yellow black combination would be amazing.

The sizing is pretty good. It fit me well in XL. The previous pair I had didn’t fit me, I think it was missized. This and the fire brief both fit well. If you follow the sizing charts you shouldn’t have too much of a problem finding the right fit.

Pros:

  • Color Block Pattern
  • Good Pouch design
  • Great for active use

Cons:

  • Limited colors

I have a few pairs of Bodyaware and have really liked them. The pair of I have this the Endowed Brief. The light fit and great pouch makes it a great pair to wear. I reviewed it a while back and the pic got us a strike on the Facebook “Community Standards” violation! I guess they don’t like guys who bulge in underwear!

I have been talking to the guys at Bodyaware to work with them again. They sent over a few pairs for us to review. One of those pairs is the Smooth Satin Enhancing Brief. I will be the first to say that I am not a fan of enhancing briefs. The elastic they use generally drives me crazy after a few hours. That’s because most create a pouch and have it lined with elastic and it lifts your junk up.

That being said it gave me a little concern in trying this pair. But more on that feature in a minute. The pair is made of Satin meaning its super soft and sliky. This right away may turn some off the pair but it felt amazing. BodyAware is known for their sexy and some may say more feminine underwear designs. I have never let that get in my way of reviewing underwear. I think too many guys won’t embrace something new just by ruling something out by the masc/fem of the pair. One of my favorite pairs I have reviewed were made of lace!

I think these briefs were super sexy. The fabric felt amazing on my skin. I will say I noticed it a few times during the say and I kind of liked it. The pouch, my big worry, didn’t really annoy me like previous pairs I have tried. The pouch wasn’t as restrictive and tight. It felt pretty well. I didn’t’ notice a big enhance . It wasn’t till the end of the day that it started to become noticeable. It wasn’t like “I have to take this pair now” but thought, “oh yeah I’m wearing some enhancing underwear.”

The sizing of these surprised me. Satin is not a forgiving fabric. It’s not known for the stretch. But they are the kings of men’s satin undies. It felt great. The sizing is spot on the charts. If you follow it (remember get a size up if you’re on the boarder) there should be no sizing issues. This pair also goes up to XXl.

Pros:

  • Sexy satin fabric
  • Great design that fit well with the fabric
  • Loved the turquoise color

Cons:

  • Some may not like Enhancing pouch
  • Fabric – some may think it’s too fem (I don’t think so)

I continue my reviews of WildmanT and the pair I am reviewing is the WT58 Apollow Short brief. The reason I picked it was its a great design. It is similar to the Moon Brief I reviewed earlier in the week. It’s clean and classic with a hint of color on the side.

This pair I got to try in Vegas but it got misplaced in my suitcase. Also, it didn’t help that I came down with bronchitis while there. So I was cleaning out the suitcase and low and behold there was a brand new pair of WildmanT still in the package! I was wondering where they went! So this past week I decided to put them to the test.

I decided to wear them on a lazy day. The Moon Briefs I wore on one of my busiest days in Vegas. These were going to be just a lounging around the house. You may say, “This isn’t a way to review a pair!” But I disagree. There is nothing better than having a day just hanging in your undies all day. A great pair is one you have for these kinds of days. So I decided to do a day of Netflix.

The first thing you have to know about the pair it comes with an elastic c-ring included. Do you have to wear it? Nope you sure don’t but its there just in case! I am not a fan of them so I didn’t put it on under the pair. Which I give WildmanT props for having this as an extra and not built in to the pair. Its great for guys like me who don’t care for them.

The material like the Moon briefs is a little thicker than most pairs of underwear. Its not totally uncomfortable. But some may not like the stiffer material. The design doesn’t have a built in pouch either. Which is usually a detraction for me but these fit me pretty well. They didn’t bind or constrict me. But note if you’re not a fan of thicker material you may stay away.

The sizing again is pretty standard. If you follow the chart I don’t think you will have many problems. I am on the upper end of the scale and they were a little snug but not too snug. They have consistent sizing across their collections.

WT71_Fuchsia_1It’s been a long time since I have tried a pair of WildmanT. I can’t remember what the last pair I had was, but the new collection that was released at the end of last year I really loved. It was a mix of swim and underwear. This time I got to give the underwear a spin and the pair I got to try is the WT71 Moon Short Brief.

I choose the Fuchsia color. Why you may ask? Well I love pink undies and this was pretty close to pint. Also, I love the design with the white band going from the side to across the back. It just looks great. When we go shop for underwear isn’t this what we want, undies that catch our eye and look awesome?WT71_Fuchsia_3

The pair like I said came in an amazing color. The black waistband and trim just makes this pair look perfect. If they had done a white I don’t think it would have the effect. Its sleek and fun to me. The pair is made out of a 94% cotton 6% spandex blend. When you first feel this fabric it seems a little thick. It makes you wonder if it will have the give of the spandex. If is kind of like a denim shirt feel, if you’ve had one. Its thick but still pliable.

So I ware this when I was in Vegas. So it was going to get a work out. In Vegas I walk a minimum of 10,000 steps if not more. Lucky this year they moved everyone together or I would have had much more walking. The weather in Vegas was 70 degrees so it wasn’t too hot. Wearing these running around the Mandalay Bay Convention center. They held up fine. The thick material wasn’t as restricting as thought it maybe. Granted it didn’t have a lot of give. So if you’re after a stretchy pair this may not be the pair for you.

Sizing was a little snug. I would say I’m right around a 40 waist right now and the upper limit sizing is 39. So that’s about right. I don’t think you will have too many issues with sizing. Over the years they have been consistent and never heard many issues with sizing. I hope to be back to a 36 by summer. Fingers crossed!

The design still is one of my favorites. This entire collection I love. I don’t know how Tim at WildmanT did it but he pulled off one of the collections I LOVE! The description says its a retro design, it maybe but I just see an amazing design all around!

Pros:

  • Fun Design
  • Amazing Color
  • Great use of Trim

Cons:

  • Was a bit snug
  • Some may not like the fabric

Jor-Fractal-Brief-Orange-1bNext up on my 15 new brands in 2015 was to review Jor.  Up until joining UNB I had never heard of Jor.  Over the past year I had seen many pictures and write ups for Jor and decided it was time to try this brand.  I was given the Fractal brief in orange to review.  The first thing I noticed about this pair was the color scheme and design.  There are some great geometric shapes covering this pair while they use an amazing color palette that is unlike anything I already own.  The orange and purple combinations are so eye popping this pair will definitely stand out.  A great way to add color to your underwear drawer.  The waistband features a bold JOR logo with a star on it.  Simple, yet fun and classy look to it.

As I felt the pair I could tell the material was a little different than I had felt on other pairs I owned as well.  It’s a mesh pair and a nylon/spandex combination.  I was curious how that would feel all day as it wasn’t much cotton like as my other pairs typically are.  As I am discovering, Jor thrives on being different.  When I slipped them on, I was surprised at how nice the material felt against the body.  Impressed actually.  I wear a medium and the fit was great.  I have seen other reviews mention that the pair seems to fit large.  I can see where people may think this so I would suggest going lower if you are on the cusp of sizes.  I am a 32″ waist and the medium fit me great.  I would not go down to a small.  That being said, the pair held up great during my basic busy work day.  One of the things I always look for in a great pair of underwear is how often I have to adjust myself, whether in the front or in the back.  With this pair, I maybe only had to adjust myself twice.  It never rode up and I never felt like my packages was smashed.  So this pair had enough room in the front pouch to allow everything to be comfortable and sit where it needs to sit without any fancy gimmicks of enhanced pouches.  TheJor-Fractal-Brief-Orange-4b back covers the butt nicely and the material keeps great coverage throughout the day.  Anytime you can wear a pair of underwear and not spend your day adjusting it is a winner in my book!

For my first Jor, I was quite pleased and impressed.  I think the pair holds up great to everyday wear, offers a comfortable feel, and does a unique design to offer some variety to the classic underwear drawer.

Its been a long time since I got a new pair of Ergowear. The one pair I have is almost worn out and has been worn many times. The pair is around 10 years old, so I definitely got my money’s worth. So when I got the chance to replace it I jumped at the chance. I got to try the X3D Suave Bikini!

I was in Vegas when I tried this pair. So I knew it would bet a work out. I wore it during a day when I walked around 13,000 steps. Which equals to be around 6.5 miles. (I got this saying 2,000 steps are on average a mile). I started the day and had to head up to the Venetian to meet a brand. Then back to the hotel near the Mandalay Bay then to Old Vegas and walked (yes I said walked) up to the Neon Museum. Then around the Neon Musum. Then walked back to Freemont Street, then do Dinner at the Cromwell and then the day was done. So this got a big workout.

EW0233 (1)

When I put the pair on I loved the fit. Being a fan of bikinis I loved how it fit in the waist and the pouch. The pouch is the incredible Erogwear pouch. Meaning they have created an ergonomically designed pouch to fit a man. This pair just confirmed how much I love the pouch they created. It holds you as you would naturally.

On my journey through out the day, the pair never lost its support or fit. Actually I think it was a bonus to wear while being so active. The waistband has a small band that if not done right could have sagged during the day. The fabric was great for the day as well. Made out of a cotton blend it kept me cool through out the day.

The best thing about Ergowear is the sizing chart. They have a graphic that tells you what size is best. It lists when you should get a larger size. So finding the right fit shouldn’t be hard. The sizing is spot on for what is listed. I am an XL and it fit me very well. I hope to be going back down in size soon!

Pros:

  • Amazing pouch made to hold you naturally
  • Sexy Bikini cut
  • Great fabric for an active guy

Cons:

  • Love to see more colors or prints
  • Has a full back (some guys may not like this but I loved it)

MAX_SUAVE_Bikini_Black_ESMP10N_41__73485.1413839991.1280.1280Next up for my review was a new brand I had never worn before, Ergowear, but heard some positive reviews on this brand in the past.  I always find it exciting yet nerve racking to try new brands.  I received the Max Suave bikini in black which was very exciting.  I love the look of bikinis.  I am a fan of underwear that is skimpy and sexy and this cut is exactly like that.  It reminds me of some other brands that have a similar cut and those pairs have always been some of my favorites.  The side is strictly just a waistband and it offers full coverage and support in the front and back.  The Max Suave brief offers some of the best technology and material in bulge support.  This style offers a 3 dimensional pouch which creates such support and comfort that you wont believe your eyes.

I prepared the pair for another typical work day for myself.  I always feel that if you can wear a pair to work for the whole day and it survives your daily routine, its a keeper.  I know it can be scary to be away from home in a mysterious pair of underwear all day without another pair to help you out but its worth the risk to find a good pair of underwear.  Upon opening the bikini, you immediately feel how soft this fabric is.  The pair is made with a soft polyester, spandex microfiber.  They also felt great on.  Like I said, I love the feel of the skimpy bikini that reaches all the way up to the waistband on the sides.  Sometimes, the extra material is just unnecessary and you appreciate a slimmer sexy look.  The material feels very soft against the body.  Everything laid in place quite nicely.  The waistband has a really fun look to it with the font used for the brand name.  Its nice to see something different that stands out different from the market.  Sometimes these bikini cuts can cause some issues with having to adjust the back or front throughout the day.  This pair held up nicely and I did not have to do any adjusting.  Another bonus for my workday!

I wear a medium and to me Ergowear held up nicely to its size requirements  The MAX_SUAVE_Bikini_Black_ESMP10N_46__35419.1413839989.1280.1280Ergowear Max line would be great for the well endowed man.  I am average in that department but this underwear was made with the bulge in mind.  The anatomically enhanced pouch for maximum support allows everything to be where it needs to be which is important for all men.

I really enjoyed this bikini.  I wore the black one and they also offer it in mink.  It’s a nice pair of underwear and would be nice to have more color selection, especially brighter colors that pop in your drawer.  It’s priced at $25.73 which is expensive but with the soft fabric and the advanced technology for the pouch design I can see why its above its competition in price.  I think Ergowear has a great visual look to it and they really take the man’s body into consideration when designing their underwear.  I look forward to trying some new offerings from Ergowear and would recommend this pair to anyone looking for that soft, comfortable pair.

My conquest of 15 new brands for my underwear drawer in 2015 continues wittumblr_nan9r7mQSA1r8qddoo1_500h Pump Underwear.

Pump Underwear has been #1 on my list for the past year. I have loved their look, advertising, and style but was always a little concerned that I may not like the mesh underwear. I did not have much experience with mesh underwear and the few that I had worn were not my favorite.  That did not stop me from putting them at the top of my list and you can imagine my excitement when I received my first pair to review. I started off with the Raver Brief. I chose this brief because I love the color combination of the neon blue and green and look of the brief. To me, it looks like fashion meets athletic in the perfect combination for a man.

When I first opened the pair, I immediately noticed how soft they were.  I expected the mesh to have a rougher feel but I was pleasantly surprised that it didn’t.  I slipped them on and the softness continued.  Once again, I did not entirely know what to expect with the mesh but this nylon, cotton, spandex combination is pure heaven.  The pair fit great in all aspects.  I wear a medium and was forewarned that their sizing is European, something I had not experienced before.  The pair fit perfectly and was not too tight at all.  I had great room and movement in the front pouch, giving me the support I wanted in a pair of underwear.  It covers the back perfectly and feels great all the way around.  There is even some added elastic in the leg opening which adds a little extra support, allowing the pair to sit exactly where it needs to, while even giving your butt a little lift and comfort.

12021-1_1As usual, I took this pair on a busy workday to see how it could hold up to a lot of movement.  And how did it hold up?  Amazingly!  I never had to adjust the underwear and not one time did I feel any sort of discomfort.  There was no riding up, discomfort, tight waistband, rubbing, or anything negative.  I did everything from sitting to standing, walking, and even hitting the gym.  It held up to the highest expectation I had for it.  This is huge for every guy.  The last thing we want is to be at work or out and about, having to adjust ourselves or pick at underwear that is riding or chafing.  The Raver Brief allowed for great movement with no negative consequences.  In fact, it even has great breathability with its micromesh material.  You won’t be hot and sweaty with that added feature.  When that happens, you know you found a special pair of underwear.  I almost wanted to pinch myself to make sure it wasn’t a dream.  Luckily, it was no dream, just a dream pair. 12021-3_1

The only negative thing I can say about Pump Underwear is…..why did I wait so long to have you????  If you are looking for a fashionable yet athletic inspired pair of underwear.  This is it.  If you want comfort with style and finesse.  This is it.  All in all, this was the pair I was waiting for.  To me, it was the perfect pair and one I want to become my go to pair of underwear for maximum comfort and visual appeal.  I loved it.  I can honestly say this is the best pair of underwear I have worn.  Thank you Pump Underwear for making this amazing pair of underwear.  I can’t wait to see more of what Pump has to offer.

  • Absolute comfort
  • Stylish design

photo 3Have you ever been walking down the main shopping thoroughfare of a mid-sized Scandanavian city only to find yourself caught amdist a wintry downpour of freezing rain and light snow?

Of course you have. Who hasn’t?

Well this recently happened to me when I was in Sweden, and I had to duck into a local department store to wait the weather out. It was also a good excuse to engage in one of my favorite activities when I’m abroad: checking out the local underwear scene.

As I perused the aisles. Vividly imagining what Alexander Skarsgard would look like in all of the underwear offerings. I came across a brand I hadn’t seen before: Bread & Boxers. Despite the name, the stark white package in front of me had my favorite word in the whole world emblazoned on the bar code sticker: “brief”.

Everything about the package seemed intriguing. The spare packaging without an overload of graphics promised a garment that was so awesome that it didn’t need a half-naked dude on the package. But it also suggested that the garment itself would be as basic as the packaging. So, with my mind swimming with curiosity. I picked up two pairs the briefs (one white, one grey), headed towards the register. Handed my krona over to the cashier and then towards the exit.

As I left the Ahlens department store, the rain suddenly tapered off. Almost as if God herself arranged the weather photo 2interlude, so that I could discover and buy this brand of underwear.

When I returned to the states, I unpacked the brief and set them aside. It would be another pair that would enter the queue; not unlike dozens of other impulse underwear buys strewn across my bedroom. I did happen to notice it the other day, however, still clad in a package that is so spartan. I lovingly picked it up, pulled out the brief and put them on for a day of work. They made it through the day reasonably well.

The fact that they’re designed by Swedes isn’t a shock. They reflect that milieu of Scandanavian design concepts: spare, modern, elegant. As for the wear, they didn’t really stand out as anything either very good or very bad. They just were. For an undergarment on a workday, I’d say they were successful in that they supported me in a way that wasn’t a distraction.

Construction-wise, The brief is 84% organic cotton and 6% elasthene. A bit of stretch is provided by the latter material. The brief is primarily comprised of a single layer of fabric, save the front, which is lined. I love when briefs are constructed of a single layer of cotton, especially white ones, since they appear semi-transparent when they are put on. The brief offers full coverage on the seat and at its narrowest, the sides are 3.75 inches. They’re a little full cut for my own tastes, but that’s just me. I’m sure other guys out there will like the sheer simplicity and ease of the garment. It’s tagless in the back, with a little brand label sewn onto the band on the left hip.

I bought them in Euro size small (I’m somewhere between a North American medium and small) and they fit snugly, but not in a tourniquet cutting off vital systems sort of way. I’d say if you’re in between sizes like I am, go up if you want to breathe a little, but go down a size if you want to be a little bit of an exhibitionist.

Since I do work in the scientific field, I did what any good investigator would do and reviewed the literature. What I find most intriguing is the origin of the brand. If you go to the about the brand page on their site, they said that the idea for these minimal briefs was born from an instance where two friends were on travel and their luggage was lost. The brand then became something that was supplied to hotels for them to provide the garments to travelers who suffered the same fate, or as their site refers to it, an extension of the mini-bar. They were offered in rooms, and were such a hit, that guests began to ask for them in stores near them, and that’s all she wrote.

In summary, I’d recommend them to someone who’s looking an elevated basic: a high end brief that is simple, yet functional.

I have been very interested in the Cheap Undies website lately because it is amazing to find such great underwear at such unbelievable prices.  I also love the fact that this business has been able to develop their own brand on top of selling so many other wonderful brands.  Everyday at 12:00pm I wonder what the new special will be.  I decided to experience another personal selection of theirs and purchased the Cheap Undies Bulge Brief.  For underwear so cheap, you have to wonder if the quality is going to be there.  What I can say about this pair, is the price is the only thing that is cheap about them!

First impressions, whether we like it or not, are a big deal.  If you look at the picture on their site for this pair of underwear, you CHEAPUNDIES_0006_Layer28_1024x1024immediately notice how fantastic they look on this man’s body.  When I received the pair in the mail, the first impressions kept on coming.  I loved the sexy black waistband, with black piping, against a neon green vibrant color.  The Cheap Undies logo on the waistband is in a fun yet sophisticated font.  Finally the touch.  Holding this cotton/elastane mix in my hand had my excited for what I could only imagine would be a comfortable fit.

I slipped the pair on and prepared myself for a busy work day.  I wear a medium and the sizing was great.  It fit everywhere it needed to with no problems or discomfort.  Being called a bulge brief you know there will be extra room and support in the front.  I am your basic average guy in that department but the bigger men should have no problem.  This pair felt amazing all day long.  I can honestly say that I NEVER had a problem of discomfort with this pair for the entire day.  From sitting to standing to working out, this pair held up great.

As I said before, the price may be cheap but there is nothing cheap about the quality of this brief.  This is what a basic brief in any collection should be and Cheap Undies nailed it!  I feel like a really good pair of underwear can get a steady 9 in a review.  But this pair, deserves a 10!  Now I need to go buy the other colors!

Pros:

  • Very soft and comfortable
  • Appealing design
  • Amazing price

Cons:

  • Larger selection to load up on!

IMG_7814Sukrew is a brand I have seen for a while on Twitter. They were first known for crotchless briefs and trunks These styles are called the U Brief or Trunk. But over the last year they have added some full briefs and trunks. The colors and patterns (tartan and Union Jack) have always caught my eye. So I was dying to try them.

Last week I got to talk to the owner and designer about the brand. We talked about his brand and how he got started. They have some good things planned for 2015. So he sent me two pairs. The Tartan Brief and Neon Pink UV Brief. Yes I decided to take one for the team and try the UV brief. There has been some requests on Twitter for us to try them out.

The two pairs came and I was super excited. Especially when I got the Tartan Brief. Have you ever slid a pair on and before they were all the way on you knew the pair would be awesome. This is what I felt with the Sukrew briefs. Then when I got them on they felt so amazing. The pouch, which was my biggest point of concern, fit me amazing. The way it held me was more ergonomically designed and was deciding on how well it stretched and conformed to me. The nylon material was one that I wasn’t sure how well it would fit.

Another area I had concern was the waistband. The band is a bit larger than most brands on underwear. So my biggest concern was that it would roll or bind through the day. I loved the design of the band the blew with the off set Sukrew name is pretty awesome. As the day went on I totally forgot what I was wearing. Which is how great underwear should be. You shouldn’t have a second thought about what you are wearing.

The Tartan print is awesome and fun. Its one of my favorite fabrics of far of 2015! The pouch is a matching red so it will draw attention to what you are packing. Which in certain situations is not a bad thing. The back is a full cut and never rode up during the day. The bikini cut just fit me very well. I will say I was impressed how well it fit.

The sizing pretty spot on. Just note the lowest they go is a 30 waist. So if you are smaller you maybe out of luck. I wore an XL and have about a 38-40 waist right now. Being tall it it me pretty well. I don’t think you will have many issues with sizing. It looks smaller when you take it out, than it actually is.

Pros:
  • Amazing Tartan print
  • Great Fabric
  • Superb pouch
  • Amazing performance
Cons:
  • Some may not like the pattern
  • Waistband maybe bigger than some guys may like

The review process for 2015 is starting for me and as I mentioned at the new year, my goal for 2015 is to try 15 new brands.  I start my 15 in 2015 with a pair of Cheap Undies.  Cheap Undies is a great website because they bring you exceptional underwear at unbelievable prices daily.  There is a new deal everyday at 12:00pm.  On top of all of the great brands they feature, they also develop their own line.  I decided to give the Bulge Brief a try from Cheap Undies.  I was first drawn to this pair by the design that they did on the brief, noting the bulge support as well as the design on the sides of the brief.  The brief has a great runner style to its design which is appealing to any man looking for a little thinner sides, going away from a trunk style.  I personally like smaller briefs so this is the type of style I go for.  After I opened the pair and slid them on, I immediately noticed how comfortable the material was.  It felt like the most comfortable t-shirt you would slide on to lay on the couch for a lazy “me” day.  Cheap Undies nailed it with this!

I wore the underwear throughout a busy day at work.  The pouch has a built in support system which allows you to place everything up and away from the body.  I like how more underwear companies are finding ways to lift the package and offer ways to dodge uncomfortable pouches.  Enhancement is always a good thing as well.  I felt 100% comfortable throughout the front of the underwear all day long.  Occasionally throughout the day I felt that the back of the underwear was riding up a little bit.  I found myself adjusting the back of the underwear a few times in the morning.  Luckily it was early on in my day and the afternoon felt comfortable all around the underwear.   When I got home, I looked at the back of the underwear and felt that the back piping was a little looser than some of my other underwear.  At the end of the day, I was much more comfortable than uncomfortable in this underwear!

CBRF-BLU3_1024x1024

I wear a medium and feel as though this brand is very true to its sizing.  The front of the underwear fit perfectly, with plenty of room, and I felt comfortable all day.  As I mentioned, I had a few issues in the back early on but I do not think that is a sizing issue.  In my opinion, the front of underwear matters more in comfort than the back.  When you wear a variety of underwear such as briefs, jocks, or thongs, you learn to expect many different fits in the back.  The front is where the most comfort and support is needed.  I would also not let that stop me from purchasing more Cheap Undies or wearing this pair again!  Thank you Cheap Undies for starting my 2015 reviews off on a positive note!  Let’s see what you have at 12:00pm tomorrow!

Pros:

  • Comfortable material
  • Great support and fit in front pouch
  • Runner design and style

3Marcuse’s new underwear line, United, is a colorful collection featuring bold and bright colors for everyone. I was fortunate enough to try the red pair which was a beautiful tone of red, looking great next to the white waistband. Speaking of the waistband, the first thing I noticed when I picked up the pair was an unusual texture on my hands. The waistband writing has a rubber type feel to it, similar to the soles of shoes which I had never felt before. I enjoyed this new feeling as it was something different that sets the pair apart from all other underwear I had. Fortunately, the waistband does not cause any discomfort when it is being worn either.

The next visual piece I noticed was the front pouch and fly of this pair of underwear. The pouch has a button fly on it which is not something I have seen much of since my days in high school with boxers. The front button fly comes down to personal preference. We have had many discussions at UNB on the presence of a button fly. I know many men who would love that and appreciate having that on their underwear. For me, it is not something I need or want to have. I view that has a pro and con of the underwear, depending on what your desire is. I will say that I did not use it once.

I wear a medium and overall the pair stayed fairly true to size. I did find it at times uncomfortable in the front pouch by the leg opening with a lack of space for everything. I wore the pair to work and did all of the normal activities of the day. I found myself adjusting the area several times as the afternoon went on. I am unsure if a size up would have helped in that area or if it depends on your pouch.

The Marcuse United brief comes in 8 beautiful colors. I love that Marcuse is offering a gift set of all 8 together! This is a great selling feature and would recommend adding color to your underwear drawer this way. Overall the brand is a great looking brand and the slight discomfort I felt would not keep me from continuing to wear this pair or more Marcuse.

Pros:

  • Waistband texture
  • Button fly
  • Color selection

Cons:

  • Button fly
  • Tight pouch

As I sit here typing i have just in from doing the Long Johns shoot with some amazing N2N. One pair in that shoot is the N2N Lounge Pants. Which I’m supposed to be reviewing in this review but… I sorta mailed them to Tim in LA by mistake and kept his Onezee. So we’re trading them out and will have those reviews soon! DOH!

The Lounge collection is amazingly soft. Its made to do just what it says, lounge around the house and feel comfy all day. The brief is no different. When I slid them on I immediately noticed how soft they were. I was a little worried they may not have great support through the day. But, being N2N, I should have known better. They now how to make underwear with an amazing pouch and support.

This pair is made out of 95% rayon/5% spandex and says “conforms to every curve yet has enough fabulous stretch to accommodate for maximum comfort. “ Which I can attest to it does everything in the description. I wore it to work on a regular day. It wasn’t running up and down stairs or any of that but a lot of up and down and around the office. The pair always felt amazing and most of the day I forgot I was wearing underwear.

The sizing is always pretty standard with them. I rarely have an issues with missizing or things running small. You can always count on N2N having great sizing across all lines. If you are a large in one line you are going to be a large in another. This is, I feel, one of their strengths. I received and XL and it was a little larger on me, I did go up in waist size but working on going smaller again.

This pair is a great pair for lounging around the house. Just super comfy and amazing. I can see many of you out there having your Sunday morning coffee and relaxing around the house, reading the paper or watching Netflix

Pros:

  • Amazing material that is super soft
  • Great pouch design
  • True sizing

Cons:

  • wish had more colors
  • some guys may not like the looser fit.

Unknown-12Gregg Homme is a company that really knows how to make great undies for men. So the Modalounge line was sone i was super excited to try. The line is made out of modal which is one of my favorite fabrics for underwear! Mix the briefs with the pants and to me this was a winning combination.

The first thing I will cover is the briefs. The first thing I noticed was the fabric. It was just as I had hoped it would be, very well made and felt amazing when i opened the package. So when I slid them on I knew they would feel amazing. But, there was one slight problem. And this is odd coming from a pair of Gregg Homme. The pouch was too small. At first I thought I maybe needed to adjust the pouch some. But no matter what I did it was a little snug

This is really odd for Gregg Homme. I have had pairs that I never thought would work and stretch to fit me. This was one that made me sad because I really love this pair! If you’re an endowed guy you may have a problem. If you’re average in the junk department you may not have a problem. Even with this issue I wore them to work.

I noticed the pouch issue a few times during the day. It wasn’t one of those pairs where you got “Damn I have to take these off” it was only when I did certain things. It still felt amazing through out the day. I just made sure I didn’t stretch and bend too much through out the day.

The contraction of the pair was top notch. Like all Gregg Homme they have great production and there were no issues. Sizing is another issue that was on the mark. I wear a size XL in them and in was it and in the back was great. It wasn’t tight or binding, sometimes when the pouch doesn’t fit you can have this issue.

Lets talk about the pants. The pants fit great and to me felt a little too good. They were ones I put on one morning and didn’t want to take off. The modal material was a great choice for the pants. They are amazing for loungewear. The waist didn’t bind, they fit in all the right places and I just wanted to stay in and relax in them. So I could def recommend them for anyone needing super comfy pair of lounge pants.

Pros:

  • Amazing material
  • Great contraction
  • Stylish and low key

Cons:

  • Too small a pouch
  • Some may like the wilder designs of Gregg Homme

GBGB Charly BLACKAs I continue into my growing knowledge and experience with various underwear brands. I had the pleasure to take a second trip into the transition of basic to sexy with another pair of Good Boy Gone Bad. I was excited to receive another pair from this brand that I had only experienced one with and was immediately intrigued by the design. The Charly brief features a brief like shape with an open front concept complete with bands of fabric connecting the two sides in the front. This may look like a normal brief from the back but when you turn around and show off your front, that package will be popping out on display!

The cotton and lycra mix was a nice comfortable soft material that I instantly knew would feel great under my suit. I was nervous about wearing this pair throughout my work day due to the exposed front. That quickly passed and I became excited to have this on all day for my test run. When I slid them on I instantly noticed the soft fabric that felt great against my body. I positioned everything right so that my package looked good exposed in front with a few lines of fabric stretching across it. I wear a medium and the pair held up to size. The back and the waist fit perfectly to my body and did not leave me in any discomfort during the day. The pouch was a little tighter than some of the other pairs I have been wearing lately. It is not uncomfortable but there is not a great deal of room. Well endowed men may want to keep this in mind.

As usual, I wore them through my normal day of sitting, standing, walking and all of the normal activities for a typical work day. The one negative thing I will say about this brief in the course of my day is it is not always practical for going to the bathroom. I felt I took a little longer to put things back in place and zip up. You have to make sure you don’t poke out through one of the bottom strands! Occasionally through the day I would feel a sense of surprise or pause when I could feel my pants rub up against my skin through movements. I was nervous about this irritating my skin but luckily it was not that bad to do that. On a side note, due to the open pouch concept, I would recommend a good trim before wearing this pair of briefs!

Overall this was a very fun pair of briefs that I think is beautiful looking. It may not be the most practical pair to wear throughout the course of the work day. I would definitely put this towards the top of my list for a nice dinner date with my partner followed by a romantic evening in the bedroom. The pair radiates with sex appeal!

Pros:

  • Soft material
  • Intriguing visual front
  • Great back and waist fit

Cons:

  • Not easily practical
  • Less room in front pouch

When you think of a basic collection, one brand that doesn’t come to mind is Gregg Homme. When you think of Gregg Homme, you think super sexy and amazing underwear. Ones you wear on an anniversary dinner or a hot date! So when I got the Torrid Basic Brief I thought, “oh cool a basic line” Well I should have known they put their own spin on the basic!

I say this because if you think it’s going to be totally basic, you are wrong. The first think you notice is the size. Like many pairs from Gregg Homme you pick them up and ask, how is this going to fit me its WAY too small. But the fabrics they use have amazing stretch and feel. How they find this fabric is beyond me but its some of the most amazing in underwear today.

The first thing you notice when you put it on is the fabric is slightly see through. After I put it on I could see pretty much everything. Granted it wasn’t a full on here’s all my business but it was noticeable. So I wouldn’t recommend then to be worn at a gym. The fit on the pair was very well.  As I mentioned above, if this is your first pair, you will not believe how one pair will stretch and feel amazing.

I wore these to work. Which is quite busy and always up and down so I knew they would get a good work out. When I put them on to begin with they felt a little small so I hoped this wouldn’t be an issue. But as the day went on they felt great and I didn’t notice them. The fabric has an 8 way stretch that will conform to any guy.

Sizing has never been an issue with me and Gregg Homme. They make their undies out of great fabrics that will fit their sizing charts. As I have said you may pull it out and go “NO WAY” but put it on and you will see. The pair i received was an XL and it fit great. As I said I had wondered about the fit through the day but it really held up great and didn’t ride down or feel too snug in any way !

Pros:

  • Amazing Fabric
  • Sexy see through material
  • Fit great

Cons:

  • I would like a bigger was it band (but thats a personal choice)
  • My not be great for a gym work out!
