Boxer Brief-Trunk Reviews

Category

EW0175 (3)If you read the Ergowear X3D Bikini review, you know I LOVE Ergowear. It was great to try a new pair from a classic I have had in my drawer for a while. So, this review I wanted to step outside of my box a little. I wanted to try something I don’t normally wear, a trunk, AKA mini boxer.

I was excited to try this pair. One, because of the amazing Ergowear pouch. It’s one of my top 5 pouches of all times. To me a pouch is easy to do in a brief. But put that in a trunk/boxer brief and that’s where the trouble comes in. Some are able to pull it off while others aren’t! Second, I love the X3D line. The fabric, pouch and design is one that just feels great on me!

And before I get started I didn’t wear this in Vegas! I know you’re shocked. I wore it when I got home and was feeling better. I put this pair on and it really had a great pouch. I was impressed they carried over the pouch into a trunk. My biggest gripe with turnk/boxer brief pouches is you fall out of it. This pair, that never happened. They made it to give more support than most trunks out there.

My day wasn’t too busy but I did have some errands to do. So I was on the go for a few hours. I loved the support of the pouch. Yeah I can’t get over it. The fabric felt great. The fabric blend is 80% polyamid, 20% spandex. To me the more spandex the better. I love undies that conform to my body and hold everything in place. Some of you may not like this but, I have since I was young.

As the day went on the back of the pair rode down some. It was very noticeable to me when it was happening. I was hoping it wouldn’t fall all the way down. I had that happen with a pair a few years go. It was not fun to walk around with no coverage on the back. This pair never gave a full moon but did go down a bit. I don’t know if I had a smaller size if this would not have happened.

The sizing is awesome in Ergowear. They have one of the best sizing charts on the market. If you look at it, they will tell you when you should go up a size. If you get the wrong size in Ergowear then you are doing something totally wrong. !

Pros:

  • Amazing Ergowear Pouch
  • Rich fabric
  • Available in a few colors

Cons:

  • Fell down in the back some
  • Other may not like a tight pouch

  • Fit – 7

E023-BLK-FHello all, today I will be reviewing the Envy Microfiber Boxer. On the box is states its “European Styling” and I found this statement very intriguing. The material is semi transparent and I have never had underwear like this. The material is striped and the light portion of the stripe is the see through part.

The construction of the Envy Boxers is very well done. The seams, choice of material and overall execution was superb. The elastic in the waist and legs are a great quality and the material is sturdy and really fun and stylish.

When I first them on I thought Envy Microfiber Boxer were fun, and I soon learned what is meant by “European Styling”, I think it means small and skimpy. Not to be bragging but I have a nice sized butt and other things that go into underwear, but these boxers were tiny. The material does have give to it but it didn’t give enough.

As I do with all my reviews I wore them to work. The waist and leg openings were snug but not too tight, so that was comfy, but the overall cut and the seam up the butt of the underwear were uncomfortable to me. Throughout the day I found myself having to adjust the underwear and myself. The comfort was not what I was hoping for or excepting.

I realized that the Envy Microfiber Boxers underwear are not your everyday underwear, but great for those special occasions or dates, but not ideal for daily wear, unless your European.

The underwear is a size Small/Medium 28-32” waist. Like I stated the waist and the leg openings fit well, but the body was a little on the skimpy side for my personal comfort.

Pros:

  • Fun material
  • Great pattern/ stripes
  • The legs and waist openings fit nicely
  • The material allows plenty of ventilation

Cons:

  • The European Styling is too skimpy for me
  • The seam up the butt takes some getting used to

Ratings:

  • Daily fit – 8
  • Sizing – 9
  • Construction/Material – 10
  • Styling – 8

E025-WHT-F

Today, I’m reviewing the Envy Logo Sport Trunk.  This was my first soiree into this brand, so I was interested to try this pair out.  It came in a soft blue color, but is also available in black, white, and grey; and it has a “Team Envy” log on the right hip.  Initially, it looked kind of small, and the sizing is “S/M” versus the traditional “S”, “M”, etc.  The material felt a little scratchy when I first opened it, but after washing, it got a little more comfortable.

To review the pair, I decided to run it through the full spectrum of my day: work, gym, lounging, sleep.  The legs are a little constricting, which, for a trunk is kind of a pro, and a con.  The legs definitely stayed in place throughout the day, but it still felt kind of uncomfortable around my legs.  At the gym, it still stayed in place well, and did a pretty good job as far as moisture wicking.  It wasn’t uncomfortable to wear at the gym, but didn’t provide the best support.  Overall, though, the pair held up well throughout the day.

The sizing, as I mentioned, isn’t your standard small, medium, etc; but mine came in a “S/M”, which the box says fits a 28-32 waist.  I usually wear a medium in underwear, with a 32-24 waist, and the pair felt fine around my waist.  Also, as mentioned above, the legs did feel a little snug.  I’m not sure how much difference another size up would have made as far as the legs go, though, but as far as the waist sizing, it seemed to run pretty true to what I would have expected.

The material ended up feeling a lot better than I expected it to: it’s 90% polyester, 10% spandex, but felt kind of weird when I first took it out of the box.  It’s softer than I thought it would be.  I liked that the legs stayed in place all day, even at the gym: trunks often ride up too much while active and these definitely didn’t.  The pouch has a similar design to the Andrew Christian “hang free” pouches, and thus, provides a little extra room.  As I’ve already mentioned several times, though, the legs were really uncomfortable and tight.  There really isn’t anything that makes this pair stand out, or leave me wanting to grab it first out of my drawer before anything else.

It’s not a bad pair of underwear; there’s just nothing really special about it that you can’t find in multiple other pairs of sport trunks.  I didn’t feel especially sexy while wearing it, and it didn’t seem to add anything to my day that I couldn’t get from another pair of underwear.  I have a desk job, so staying in place really isn’t an issue during my work day, but it was nice that everything stayed in once place while at the gym.  It did keep things cool “down there”, which you won’t get from other materials, say cotton.  Honestly, though, I wore it for the one day to get my impressions, and it’s been sitting in my drawer since.

Overall, I’d give this pair a rating of a 6.

I have known about Shrine Boxers for almost a year. Rob, the owner came to Vegas and one of our Meet and Greets. The first thing I noticed was he was taller than I was, and I”m 6’4”. The next thing was he started a underwear company. He told me why he started the company (see the Kickstarter post). He really impressed me!

In a recent call he brought up my interview about how “I hate boxer briefs” and said when theirs comes out it will change my mind. Those are big claims.  But, I decided to go into it with an open mind! The pairs came in the mail and the first thing that I liked was the quality. The fabric was very well made and perfect for working out or being active. I wore these to work in a very hectic and busy day.

I did everything form sit at the desk, run up and down stairs to being super active that day. Other Boxer Briefs I have had got very hot and uncomfortable during the day. This pair breathed and felt great. Its like they made it for super active guys. I will say it really impressed me on how well it did. The pair didn’t ride up in the legs. Which is another pet peeve of boxer briefs. They stayed in place and didn’t bunch. So score another point.

My one are alf concern was the pouch. They didn’t have a defined pouch as I would like. So from the time I put them on I worried about them loosing shape and me being uncomfortable. Granted the pouch didn’t stay 100% perfect for me but it wasn’t one where I wanted to take them off half way through the day.

Sizing with a new brand is never easy. You don’t know if the size guide is correct. I”m about a 38/40 currently and the XL fit me pretty well. I don’t see a copy of their size chart on their page yet. The line should be released soon and we will add them to our size guide! But it should be pretty standard shipping

Overall these were very good boxer briefs. Did it change my mind, well I won’t say I’m a super huge fan but I will be wearing these more than a lot of other boxer briefs. They are perfect for a busy day and will breath with you. I am really impressed

Pros:

  • Breathable materials
  • Prefect for an active day
  • Great construction

Cons:

  • No defined pouch

Infographics_Blue_FrontFirst let me say I thought I had posted this review long ago, so when I found it in my review stack I was like OMG! I had to review it right away. So to this I apologize to Parker & Pine. This brand may not be one for the majority of our readers. I say this because unlike a lot of brands their sizing starts at XL. Yup you heard me right! If you’re a medium this brand isn’t for you, they are a company that has made underwear for the bigger guy. Which is great to see!

Being the biggest guy not the site, It was up to me to review. I have about a 38/40 waist right now and wasn’t sure I would be able to wear the pair. When I held it up it looked really big. Its not often you can say this about an underwear brand that it looks bigger than the size listed. But I put it on and wore it to work. Let me also say that boxer briefs aren’t my favorite. So I was hoping they would hold up through out the day.

I wore them to work and really didn’t notice I was wearing a boxer brief. It kept everything in place and didn’t ride up in the legs. One of my biggest gripes about boxer briefs is the lack of a great pouch. This one had a good pouch. It kept me in place and comfortable all day. I was kind of impressed the fit. All too often a boxer brief, especially one a bit bigger, can go horribly awry! They list as a feature a contour pouch, I didn’t believe them but I was proved wrong!

The sizing for XL is 42/44. Which is a bit bigger than I currently am. So that had me worried but it didn’t really affect the pair. They go all the way up to size 54. So just pay attention to the sizing and you should be fine.

I want to include this form their site, their mission: The mission is simple: to help big men look their best. How are we going to do this? By creating high quality, well designed pieces that are specifically made to fit and flatter our customers – the fashion conscious big man. We’re starting with menswear basics because they determine the way the rest of your clothes look on you.

The last thing is it came in a reusable bag! I love when underwear companies so these little things. you can use it for anything you want. This really took me off guard and just made my day.

Pros:

  • Made underwear for bigger guys
  • Great fit through out the day
  • Good supportive pouch

Cons:

  • Made for bigger guys – for once its the small/medium guys who can’t get it.
  • The only style the offer is a boxer brief.

Bounce-boxer-Red-SideToday I am excited to get to review the Marcuse Bounce boxer. When I first felt them I was pleased by the super soft material and the construction was very good quality. The style was a mix between retro and modern, its fun, sporty and sexy. The mix of 90% Micro Modal/ 10% Elastane fabric makes for a great pair of underwear.

When I first pulled them on and examined myself in the mirror I was pleased with the cut and fit, and especially how sexy they look on. They have a great pouch for your goods that’s supportive and comfy. The waistband has the Marcuse logo in gold with black and grey stripes.

The leg openings and waistband are snug but not binding. The material breathes throughout the day and stay snug and does not sag or droop. The front pouch offers the ideal amount of support but allows freedom of movement.

I wore these all day at work. I do a lot of lifting, walking, sitting and standing and these Marcuse Bounce boxers did not disappoint. They never caused any discomfort and did not disappoint.

One of my favorite features of this underwear is the construction of the pouch. They way it is made it creates an effect of a cock ring lifting and pronouncing your goods in a highly flattering manner.

I modeled these for a very good friend and he pointed out how great the Marcuse Bounce boxer made my goods come to life. He said he is going to have to get some pairs for his own collection.

Pros:

  • Awesome material and construction.
  • Great cut and style.
  • Comfortable, offering great support.
  • Supports and pronounces your “junk” nicely
  • Very sexy cut, fit and look.

Cons:

  • I honestly do not have a “con” to mention

3000T_digitalcamo_front__11739.1409069976.1280.1280I am really excited to be able to review for you readers the Wood Trunk, Digital Camo print. When I first received them I was beyond excited. The pattern is great fun and to add to the charm is a small “W” in a circle randomly placed throughout the pattern. This adds a touch of fun that is always needed with underwear.

Upon getting them I did my visual QC inspection and was very pleased with the material and the construction. The camo pattern was fun and something totally new for me. I love bright colors and patterns with my underwear, but I have never had camo print underwear. The material was soft and stretchy but supportive. The combination of 35% Tencil, 60% cotton and 5% Elastane proved to be the perfect combination.

I always prefer to wear my review underwear to work because I do a lot of moving at work. Sitting, standing, bending, lifting, stretching and climbing stairs. I want to make sure I do a full range of motions to provide an accurate review.

From the moment I put them on in the morning they were amazingly comfortable. The wide waistband was snug and perfect fitting. Not binding or pinching but smooth feeling. The leg openings were perfect. Not too tight and not too lose. The butt was perfect as was the front pouch. Both were really well designed and fit like they were tailor made.

Throughout the entire day I had no issues with them the legs didn’t ride up or bunch. The waistband was smooth and stayed in place. Even during my workout they were ideal.

The Wood Trunks did not overheat or feel sweaty. The cotton breathed nicely. They were truly a pleasure to wear all day.

I have worn them a couple times since my first wearing and I am really pleased with how they hold up after wearing them and laundering them. One small drawback is after several washings the color has started to fade just a little.

Pros:

  • Soft material
  • Fun and stylish print
  • Comfortable for all day wearing
  • Great fit for your butt and crotch
  • Very sexy and stylish underwear

Cons:

  • The print started to fade a little bit

I totally recommend you guys give the Wood Trunk Camo Print a try. They are a newer brand and they make great underwear. These trunks are in my regular rotations now.

csx68_carbonblack_frontToday’s review is the Cocksox CSX Trunk. I have never tried Cocksox and I was excited to finally try something from them. When I received them I was really excited and couldn’t wait to wear them.

My initial QC review impressed me. The construction was very high quality and I was very impressed with the material used. I don’t thin k I’ve ever tried Supplex but I love this material. The color combination is fun and playful (the pair I got to review was the Azure Blue with white and sea foam trim).

When I pulled them on for my first review day I was very happy with the trunks overall fit and look. I am a sucker for a soft waistband and the CSX waistband was ideal. It was soft and didn’t cause any skin irritation or discomfort.

The leg openings were comfy and not binding or pinching but also did not get saggy. The front pouch was roomy and the butt was comfy without feeling saggy. Two drawbacks to this pair are a seam that runs from the waistband down the center of the butt section, and a seam that runs between the legs openings low on the butt section. A couple times throughout the day I felt it, and that was the only time I even realized I was wearing them.

The material was airy and breathed very nicely and I didn’t overheat or feel sweaty down there. They were a true joy to wear and they stood up to a tough day at work and working out.

These are in my “Special Occasion” drawer, so I don’t wear them as often but save them for those times when only the best will due.

Pros:

  • Amazing material
  • Fun color combination
  • Comfortable, offering great support
  • Great fit for your butt and crotch
  • The Supplex material stands up to repeated washes and wearings.

Cons:

  • The two seams on the butt I mentioned before..

I am going to order more of the CSX from Cocksox. They offer several different cuts and colors and they are a MUST for every mans underwear drawer. Cocksox furnished this pair for review.

PX6-13-BHow appropriate that I post a review for a boxer brief the same week I post “I hate boxer briefs” Well I don’t have them but hate a section of them. As you will see in this review.

I totally forgot I had this pair to review and decided to wear them on my trip to LA. Which I think partly wore because I saw N2N at the LA Eagle that night for the Hard Heroes party. Which was a lot of fun (except the jet lag). So I put these on when I did the final things to get ready for my flight. I didn’t leave till 5 PM so I had plenty of time. While doing things I did something I haven’t done in a while. I turned this pair inside out. Why you ask? Because the tag just irritated me so much. I thought about taking it off but realized I could just flip them.

Once I had them inside out, they were pretty good. I love the fit of these because they are very tight in the legs, but not too tight. They really breathed with me through out my journey. And the pouch was amazing! I love the pouch they have created and have had very few that I haven’t loved!

These got put through their paces on this day. More so than most pairs I review. Here is the day I had….I get to the airport, get checked in and head to security. The sign said 10 minutes, but it ended up taking more than 35 minutes. I glanced at my watch and had 15 minutes to get to the gate before boarding. I was like “No problem” It’s a short train ride down and I”ll be there. But that wasn’t meant to be! I rounded the corner and the trains in the ATL airport wasn’t working. They were holding everyone up and not letting them go down to the transportation mall. So my 15 minute window was slowly closing. In about 5 minutes they let people down and I could still make it. But the train got one concourse away form mine and stayed there. After 7 minutes, and yes I timed it, I got off the train and started to walk. Well everyone else had this idea had to duck and weave between people.

I make my way over to the concours and basically had to fight my way to the escalator. I get on and head up to the concourse. Which is a good thing because when I get near the top I hear security say “don’t let anyone else up”. After I get up there I realize why, there are about 2,000 people waiting to go down and they are lined up ¼ way down the concourse. I start running at this point to the gate. I have my backpack with my camera, ipad, computer and more. This backpack weighs about 35 pounds. But there is one thing that I didn’t count on. I took my belt off at TSA and didn’t put it back on. So my shorts were falling down. So here I go running down the concourse yanking my shorts up as I go. But I get there right when they start boarding!

Well this pair felt amazing because It never got in the way. The fabric really breathed by the time I got to the gate I didn’t feel like the fabric absorbed all the sweat. I’m sure we have all had these pairs, and then I would have to sit for over 5 hours in a plane, it would not have been good. Turning them inside out was a blessing. If it hadn’t the tag would have just made things worse. So if this pair could stand up to a mad dash to the gate , it would be a great pair to work out or do kickball, tennis or anything else active. This is going to be one of my favorite N2N pairs, I’m actually wearing it again as I type this review (yes its inside out). So this is one of the first times I used an athletic pair in a review situation!

I almost forgot the sizing. I think if you’re a fan of N2N you know your size. They have been consistent. I got a large and I’m a 38 waist now and it fit me fine. Make sure you check the size chart for your correct size.

Pros:

  • Great pouch
  • Breathable Materials
  • Held it shape all day
  • Perfect for an active guy

Cons;

  • The tag was irritating
  • Wish they had more colors than black.

VU6-13-AI have to start off saying N2N Bodywear is one of my favorite underwear companies. The first reason is they make really comfy and great underwear. Second, I love the guys over at N2N. They are really amazing guys. I know you guys have heard me say it before but there are very few bad folks in men’s underwear. It’s a very small community and just really great people.

Usually when we get N2N, I get a chance to try the Signature Trunk, but not this time, the other Tim got it! I was a little bummed but I got to try a pair I have never tried before. That pair is the Vintage Trunk. I believe this is the second year for the collection (but I could be wrong). The vintage line is one made to look like it’s been in your underwear drawer for a few years.

Over the years of UNB I have tried these “pre worn” type of underwear and they always feel great. I was hoping this was going to be the same with the vintage trunk. When I took it out of the plastic it comes , the fabric felt super soft. It made me go “What is this made of?” The fabric is a Rayon/Spandex blend. I slid them on and they felt like I had had them for a year or more.

The fabric wasn’t the only thing I liked about the pair. In the list of top 10 pouches, the N2N pouch is one of favorites. Andrew knows how to make underwear to fit a guy. Granted, I have a larger pouch than most, so it’s the most important thing in undies for me. Some run way too small but rarely have I had them too big. This is just right.

I wore these running around town for a busy day. First, the pouch as mentioned above was amazing and gave me the support I needed. Next, the trunk, while not a favorite, fit more like a brief. Meaning it didn’t ride up or go too far down the leg. It was a very nice cut that reminds me of the Signature trunk like. Lastly, the fabric just felt amazing against my skin. They have out done themselves on this line.

The sizing is spot on. You shouldn’t have any issues with N2N at all. The size chart is pretty accurate. I haven’t ever had any issues with mis-sizing. Actually I haven’t ever heard people who have had issues. If you have let me know.

Pros:

  • Super Soft Fabric
  • Great N2N Pouch
  • Amazing design

Cons:

  • Some may not like the colors since they are more pastel

Today I am excited to review the CR7 cotton stretch Trunk. This is the signature line by soccer great Cristiano Ronaldo. He has a great line of underwear and hosiery for men and boys.

The timing of receiving these was perfect. The world cup was playing and wore them while watching the cup lol.

My first impression of these after my visual quality inspection was high. The material was soft and stretchy. The stripes were manly but fun. The seams and construction were very high quality. The wide waistband in slight grey and dark blue have a metallic shimmer to them and the contrasting white trim and leg openings add to the great look of these trunks.

When I put them on I was pleased with the feel of the material. I have never been a huge fan of cotton because they often stretch and fade. These trunks fit amazingly when I put them on and they did not get lose and baggy as the day went on. They kept their shape throughout the day. I wore them on a busy day at work and I never once had to adjust myself. The legs did not ride up on me at all.

The cotton was light and I didn’t have an issue with sweat. It was a hot day but these trunks kept me cool and comfy. The waistband was super comfy and non-binding. It didn’t roll or dig into me at all while wearing them.

I wear a size medium and these fit perfectly. The sizing is spot on.

Pros:

  • Great material
  • Fun striped material
  • Great non binding waistband
  • Comfortable, from the beginning of the day to the end of the day
  • Great fit for your butt and crotch
  • Sexy looking while wearing them.

Cons:

  • Cristiano Ronaldo didn’t deliver them lol

But really, I cannot think of a con with this underwear

N2N Signature Boxer UN53-14-AToday I have the great pleasure of reviewing the N2N Signature Boxer. When I opened the package and saw that I was reviewing another pair of N2N I knew these were going to be a great pair of underwear, and I was right.

They were black with blue inset panels on either side of the roomy front pouch. My visual QC inspection was as I expected from N2N, The finest quality material and workmanship. The seams were executed perfectly and the fabric was soft and sturdy. The waistband is sporty and fun with that hint of sexiness that N2N always delivers.

The blend of 90% cotton and 10% makes for a great pair of underwear that stretches where it should and stays put where it’s supposed to. N2N always finds the best material for making their awesome underwear.

When I put them on I was pleased with the fit and the look. The front pouch was roomy and super comfortable. There was no binding in the legs or the waistband. When I looked in the mirror I was pleased with how they compliment my butt and legs.

My work day was a busy one with lots of moving, bending and lifting. These trunks never once let me down. I did not have to adjust the legs or the pouch once. As usual, it was a warm day and these trunks breathed and kept me cool with no sticky crotch that you can get with so many other underwear.

I wear a size medium and the sizing was perfect. I often worry that with my thick thigh muscles they leg openings will be tight but these trunks fit like a glove.

Pros:

  • Soft, stretchy but firm material
  • Fun and sexy waistband
  • Great color combination
  • Perfect for all day wearing with no problems
  • Great fit for your butt and crotch

Cons:

  • Limited color options

CS002_redThe pair I am reviewing is the Cocksox CSX65 Boxer Brief. This pair was really attractive when I pulled them from the package. The color is a bright vibrant red. The feel of the fabric was super soft. I couldn’t wait to try them on. I had never bought Cocksox before and really like the idea of the CSX so it doesn’t say Cock on my waistband.

I have worn this pair twice already. Once when I worked both of my jobs so it meant moving around a lot and wearing them for a long amount of time. The underwear stayed in place the whole time. They felt comfortable and were easy to move in. At times I forgot I had them on since they were so comfortable. The next time I wore them it was for both jobs but it was also a 99 degree day out. So I got extremely sweaty. These are designed to wick the moisture away from the body and I got to say it really worked. As someone with a bubble butt when underwear gets sweaty it normally starts to ride into my ass. These stayed in place and remained comfortable. I would recommend these for working out and sweaty situations

The pair is a size small which covers 28 to 30 inch waists. The pair fit me perfectly. The pair looked awesome on my ass and the pouch fit me perfectly. The pair is made of 92% Supplex® 8% Lycra®. According to their website Supplex is the feel of cotton with more technology.

I really loved this pair of underwear. The y-front on the front and the bold bright color is fun. The pair is so comfortable that I will be wearing them often. These have jumped up my list of favorite underwear for sure. I will be purchasing more of these for sure!

Pros:

  • Held up throughout the movements of my day
  • Fun color
  • The fabric is super soft and comfortable

Cons:

  • There were no cons with this pair. I loved them and will wear the pair lots.

mbs04-turq_1Today’s review is the Male Basics Sport Boxer. As always when I received them I couldn’t wait the open them and see them. The first thing I noticed was the great design of the sports brief. I have never had mesh type underwear and was excited to try them.

As always I wore them on a busy work day. I prefer to try them on busy days when I know I will be moving a lot so I can get the best results for my review. I am a true size medium, but I found these to run a little small. They were snug in the waist and tight around the leg holes. I do have somewhat muscular legs and even taking that into consideration they tended to bind and pinch my legs throughout the day. I tried to gently stretch them but with not much luck.

I was hoping the mesh type material would be cool and airy, but I found them to be a bit on the hot side. Like I said I’ve never tried mesh type underwear and maybe this is the norm. The material is very sturdy and of good quality. I always go for high quality underwear and Male Basics defiantly makes high quality

The design and construction were superb, and they look very sexy, both on an off. I was impressed with how well they were made. Much better than I thought they would be. I thought with the mesh type fabric the construction wouldn’t be very good but I could tell these are made to last.

I tried them two more times but not at work One time was dinner with friends and one day was out running errands, and as fun and sexy as they are they just didn’t fit the way I was hoping. I am thinking of getting a pair in large and see how they do.

If you like sport boxers, mesh type underwear or something fun, sexy and different these are a must have for your collection.

Pros:

  • Great material
  • Fun design
  • Stands up after washing and wearing several times
  • Great construction/ quality underwear

Cons:

  • A little on the snug side
  • During strenuous activity it got warm down there.

mypakage-weekendThe pair I am reviewing is a pair of black MyPakage Weekend Boxer Brief. I had never heard of this brand so I was really curious. On the front of the package it mentions keyhole comfort technology, which looked really interesting from description and the picture. When I pulled them from the packaging they were so soft. I don’t remember the last pair of underwear I got that was this soft.

I wore this pair twice. The first day I wore them when I went to work. I was curious how the “keyhole comfort technology” would feel. It is some elastic that your bits fit inside. I must say I wasn’t that impressed since I didn’t do these justice in the pouch region. This pair is very soft to wear, but I noticed I was having to pull my pants up constantly because they were sliding on the underwear. I wore them to work and the constant readjusting was troublesome. They were comfortable but not the best for work.

The second day I wore them on the weekend when I was just going to be lounging. They were extremely comfortable and seemed to perform better when I wasn’t as active. Though once again I wasn’t filling the pouch area and so the keyhole comfort technology didn’t do much for me.

This pair is a size small that covers a 28 to 30 inch waist. I am a 28 to 29 inch waist and have a bubble butt so normally have no issue. The waist of the pair fit me perfectly, it stayed in place and looked good. The rest of the boxer brief seemed loose on me, even on the butt. Normally my butt stretches all pairs but this pair had some extra room on the butt. These felt more boxer like to me than boxer brief. This pair is made of 95% modal and 5% spandex which makes them so soft. I love how that material felt against my skin.

Pros:

  • Super comfortable material
  • Waistband stayed in place

Cons:

  • Pouch was too roomy for me
  • Fit more like boxers
  • Caused my pants to slide down some

sly-torn-denimMy first review for UNB is a pair of Sly Collective Torn Denim boxer briefs. When I received them in the mail I was excited. When I took them out of the package I was beyond excited. The print is awesome. They really look like a pair of work jeans. You know the pair: your favorite jeans that are worn and torn and perfectly broke in, rips and all.

The material is a cotton/ elastane blend. The waist band is snug but not too binding. The logo is flashy and fun too. Before I tried them on the first time I laundered them. I washed them in cold and dried them on the cool setting. The color and shape didn’t change.

I wore them to work to give them a real test. I do a lot of walking and climbing of stairs. These boxer briefs didn’t ride up or pinch in the crotch. I often find that the legs of boxer briefs ride up as the day goes on but the Sly boxer briefs didn’t move. I also do a lot of lifting and bending at work and they never were uncomfortable. During the day I kept thinking of the awesomely fun underwear I had under my actual favorite comfy jeans. They are fun and sexy at the same time.

One fun little feature of these underwear is a small pocket on the right leg. It’s the ideal size for a pocket watch, or, a condom perhaps. The little pocket was just one more great feature on what has quickly become one of my favorite pair of underwear.

I have worn them three times since I received them in the mail. I have laundered them four times and the print didn’t fade at all and they have kept their shape. I have found in the past that printed underwear doesn’t always last but these are holding up great.

The underwear is a size medium and the size is accurate. They cover a size 32 to 34 inch waist. I have somewhat athletic thighs and the leg openings were not so tight that they cut into my legs.

Pros:

  • Great material
  • Amazing print
  • Comfortable, from the beginning of the day to the end of the day
  • Great fit for your butt and crotch
  • Stands up after washing and wearing several times
  • Pocket watch/condom pocket

Cons:

  • I only have one pair so far.
  • But really, I cannot think of a con with this underwear

I recommend you guys give the Sly Torn Denim Boxer Brief a try. If you are not a boxer briefs kind of guy these will change your mind and make a believer out of you. This pair was furnished for review by Sly Collective.

SLY_2011_WORK_AZURA1_1I was recently was given the opportunity to test wear a pair of trunks from the Sly Collective. Sly Collective is a new brand in my collection. I had never heard of them prior to them showing up in my mailbox. I was very pleased with my first time wearing them. The fit and wear was very comfortable. I was told that these wear trunks, but I would say that better fit the description and cut of boxer briefs. While I do not know the exact measurement specifications for trunks versus boxer briefs. I feel this pair better fits in the boxer brief category. There is a very distinct difference between Sly’s trunks and boxer briefs, so making the right choice is easy. Browsing the website of Sly reveals that they have a wide variety of colors and patterns. They also offer a small selection of briefs if that is your preferred cut of underwear. I would encourage you to browse the website of Sly Collective and see for yourself.

I took Sly Collective on a test wear during a normal day in my life. There was nothing uncomfortable about them from the moment I first donned them until I removed them at the end of the day. The sign of a good fitting pair is the not knowing you have them on and Sly did that for me. Often times you have to readjust the leg placement or fix a wedgie. Sly required no adjustment at all. I wore them while doing extensive walking and also during some seated time in a vehicle. Getting out of a car will usually mean having to pull the legs down on a pair of trunks or boxer briefs. Again, not with Sly as they stayed right where they were supposed to. I call into question the longevity of the legs and their ability to keep the underwear where they belong after normal wear and tear.

Since I was given a pair of trunks to review the size I wore was small. I follow a general rule of thumb that when I wear trunks or boxer briefs I go with smalls. This rule has suited me well and in the case of Sly Collective also holds true. The measurements for the small size is 30 to 32 inches. I would say that this sizing is very true to reality. If you consider yourself to be a small then ordering a small in Sly would not disappoint. I would definitely consider myself a small in Sly Collective trunks and boxer briefs.

Considering that the Sly Collective trunks I reviewed were more along the lines of boxer briefs than trunks. I still rather liked them. As I mentioned before I wore them during a normal day and did not know I had them on. They required no adjustment throughout the day and stayed in place from beginning to end. The material was soft and waistband was the perfect size. The bands on the bottom of the legs were tight enough to hold the legs in place not so tight they made the underwear uncomfortable. They even included a cute little pocket on the leg in which to hide a small item. This a catchy feature that makes them unique and fun. I have no real complaints of Sly Collective. I still stand by my original belief though that they would better fall into the category of boxer briefs. That is a small issue in the grand scheme of things. All in all a great pair of underwear that I strongly recommend checking out. I know I’ll be shopping for another pair, briefs this time.

Pros:

  • Soft comfortable fabric
  • Strong leg bands to hold in place
  • Unique pocket feature to set them apart

Cons:

  • Better suited to the boxer brief category

UNB SkateboarderI’m kind of sad this is my last review of Blue Collar Underwear. I have really enjoyed wearing them. They are a really great underwear company you guys should check out. I saved the Skateboarder Trunk as the last pair. As you know I’m not a big fan of trunks/boxer briefs and this one didn’t have the really great pouch. So I figured why not (and I temporarily misplaced it is the real reason). What? Yes I do misplace things.

The first thing I LOVED was the waistband. Green is my favorite color in everything and in underwear it really draws me to a pair. So the waistband and green stitching I loved. Although the lack of pouch really had me worried. I never do well with pairs that are flat in front. It doesn’t hold things in place and after a while it drives me crazy. I mean so crazy the pairs have to go and I usually bring an extra pair of underwear to change into.

I hesitantly slid on the pair and hoped for the best. The first thing I noticed, unlike many other pairs, it did fit me pretty well. There wasn’t any worry of things moving where they shouldn’t. Granted I didn’t know if this would hold up but was hoping for the best. These are made to be an “athlete’s dream trunk” as they say on the Blue Collar site. I would agree with this statement. They would be great for working out or being active.

I really was surprised how well these held up for the day. I don’t know how it created a pouch. There is no defined pouch like previous pairs and it looks just like a regular pair of trunks that I am not a fan of wearing. As I have said before that Blue Collar is making underwear for real guys. They are one brand you are going to have to look out for in the year to come.

Sizing on these were perfect. Unlike the Snake Charmer, these fit great. As I have said I’m 6’4’/245 and 38 waist. These fit 36-39 and really were super comfy. They didn’t ride up or bind at any time. The one thing I hate about trunks is they ride up in the legs. I don’t know how they made these but it’s a win-win in every area.

Pros:

  • Green Waistband – love green
  • Created a pouch – when I didn’t think it would
  • Breathable material

Cons:

  • This pair I can’t think of any other than it may make me rethink my dislike for boxer briefs

DSC_0163__78826.1399443510.1280.1280This is my fourth pair of Blue Collar Underwear. I will say I’m impressed with them so far. The pair I’m reviewing on this review is the Snake Charmer Trunk. This pair I was super excited to get. The material felt amazing when I took it out of the bag. Super soft and felt almost rubber like. The second thing I noticed was there was a print on the pair. It was printed in black on black fabric so you really had to look to see it. It was super cool! This one was so much fun.

I slid them on and well…it didn’t fit. It was a bit too small. I was super bummed. I didn’t want to get a pair to review that I can’t fit in. Granted I don’t have a large backside, but it didn’t cover me completely at the top. I was really upset I love this pair. I decided to give them a try anyway. I figured they are on, the worst that would happen would be I would have to take them off during the day at some point. This wouldn’t be an issue because I had tons of errands to run and would be running in and out all day.

As the day went on I totally forgot that the pair didn’t fit me. Which too many I know is hard to believe but I did. I ran around and the pair didn’t slide down. I still find it hard to believe that it didn’t. I bought a pair once, I won’t name the name, but it didn’t fit and as the day went on it totally slid down. So I give them props for this and the awesome material.

The material is 95% Viscoseand and 5% Spandex. I don’t believe I have ever had a pair made out of Viscoseand before. I loved the feel. Much like the other pairs I have reviewed they had a defined pouch. They have really mastered the great fitting pouch. When you look at all their pairs each style has a great pouch. Lastly is the print, I love how subtle it is and how it adds to the pair with out making it appear over the top.

I wore these on errands like I said. So it was a some what busy day. The smaller size really didn’t detract from the pair. After I put on my jeans I never felt them being small again. I know it seems crazy but it didn’t bother me the rest of the day. I forgot midway through the day and wasn’t till that night that I remembered.

Sizing, well this one really didn’t fit me that well. I am 6’4”/245 and 38 waist. This said it fits 36-39 but I have a feeling it’s more 36. I don’t know if it was mislabeled or just a miss size. The other pairs I have reviewed never had an issue. We all can buy a one off that doesn’t fit 100% perfect. Every brand has them and I would say exchange it for a new one if you do.

Pros:

  • Love the materials the Viscoseand felt great
  • Again can’t talk about the pouch enough
  • The design printed was super fun

Cons

  • Sizing – it didn’t fit me
  • Some guys may not like the smaller trunk design

UNB....Navy Blue Camo

After my last review from Blue Collar Underwear I was super excited to try some more. For the record they sent me 5 pairs to review. So you will read a lot more about the brand in the next week or so. The City Briefs just had me loving the brand. Would this love continue to the Miltary Camo Briefs?

The briefs are more of a trunk to me. Unlike the City Briefs these were more of a cotton fabric rather than nylon. This made me wonder if they would hold up through out the day as well as my previous pair. Without hesitation I put them on and set out on my day. I wore these to a really long and active day. I helped a friend out and worked an event for 13 hours. This was no ordinary day. Getting the day started at 5 am and non stop till 7 PM.

The first thing I noticed on the pair was the camo color. I liked the use of blue rather than the traditional green. It is a lot of fun. The next thing is the material. It really breathed well through the day. However, it didn’t conform to me as the City Brief did and at times it rode up a bit. Not a great deal but it was noticeable. This could have been due to everything I had to do during the day. I think if it had been a regular day I wouldn’t have had any issues. Third is the pouch, which was great. Blue Collar seems to have a great pouch in every pair they make. It gave me ample support during the day. There is nothing I hate more than a pair that looses support in the pouch. Why bother having undies if it doesn’t hold up and these did all through the day.

Sizing in these were very good. As I have said I’m 6’4” and 245ish with a 38 waist right now. These fit waist sizes 36-39 waist. Granted I’m on the upper end but it still fit pretty well. You should be able to find the right pair with their size chart. Like with all size charts if you’re on the boarder of a size you may want to go for the larger size.

I will say I am becoming a fan of Blue Collar Underwear. I have three more pairs to get through. One I temporarily misplaced, but I did find! They will be out next week or so.

Pros:

  • Great Camo Print
  • Supportive Pouch
  • Breathable Material

Cons

  • Rode up during the day
  • More of a trunk than a brief
