next-pairReaching a milestone is something we all look forward to in life.  Not everyone will look at an underwear collection as a milestone worth celebrating, but I know everyone here will appreciate this milestone.  As I sit in a coffee shop typing this, there is a package waiting for me in my mailbox.  In that package are 5 pairs of underwear that will put my underwear collection total at 297.  That’s right folks, I’m only 3 pairs away from 300.  How should we celebrate?

I’m less focused on the celebration I guess and more interested in what that 300th pair will be.  With my recent involvement here, my 300th pair could very will be a sample pair I review.  If that’s where they come from I sure I hope it’s a good pair that I’ll be proud to own and give rave reviews about.  On the other hand it could be an uncomfortable trip into unknown territory with a new design or style I’ve never worn before.  No, going to keep positive here, number 300 will be amazing.

This amazing number 300 could also come from a favorite online haunt of mine, www.cheapundies.com.  You never know what amazing finds will pop up there from day to day.  All I know is you better act fast if you see something you like, they sell out fast.  I wish there were more sites like www.cheapundies.com.  They are responsible for the largest surge in my collection to date.  It’s hard to resist the temptation to order sometimes.  We won’t look at my credit card statement where it is concerned.

Wouldn’t it be amazing if that 300th pair came from a fan who ordered them for me from my Amazon wish list?  I want to kiss the genius that thought of the ability to create a wish list and share with anyone and everyone.  I know my list is filled with underwear and jocks I want to own, but would feel better financially if someone else footed the bill.  I guess that sounds really bad, but if there are people out there willing to send random gifts to strangers, who I am to refuse?

Lastly, and most likely, I’ll hand pick a pair of really nice underwear I’ve been eyeing for some time now.  There are a few brands I’m looking at to become number 300.  The obvious choices are C-IN2, Aussiebum, 2xist, and Unico.  I know, why don’t I let you help me decide?  I think that’ll be fun and get you involved in a small part in making my mind up for me.  So there we have it then, a reader poll to determine my 300th pair.  I can’t wait!

ORANGE-YOU-GLADDo you see a color of underwear and immediately say to yourself, “I gotta have those?”  Well, that’s how I am with the color orange.  Whether I am in a store or shopping online I have a real hard time resisting a pair of orange underwear.  Now, to be fair, it goes for most anything orange.  Shirts, shorts, and yes, underwear in the color orange will most likely end up in my shopping cart.  My Amazon wish list is loaded with orange underwear.  Thankfully having that wish list option helps me feel like I might buy it one day and saves me the money today.

I did some research, by which I mean I looked on Wikipedia.  They say that color preference relates back to childhood.  I can not for the life of me recall anything orange in my childhood.  I guess the closest to childhood orange relations would be the blaze orange clothes we wore when we went hunting.  I guess I’ll go with that.  I enjoy hunting and had to wear orange clothes to hunt, so 2 + 2 = 5…right!?  I really don’t know why I love orange so much.  I just do!

My love of the color orange is not a big secret either.  My fans and followers on Twitter and Tumblr know without a doubt I love orange.  Every time I stumble upon a guy wearing orange underwear, I click that reblog or retweet button so fast heads spin.  I have seen some photos I wouldn’t normally share, but that glimmer of orange makes that desire to share impossible to resist.  I guess adding orange to anything makes it look better.

Now, do I have ONE favorite pair of orange underwear…NOPE!!  I looked back through several photos I had taken and found a few pairs I would classify as “favorites.”  I came across a photo of my first pair of skimpy swim trunks.  A bright orange pair from Sauvage.  I got them right before a trip to Florida.  I wore them almost exclusively.  They attracted a lot of attention too.  My trunks were like a beacon for the boys at the beach checking me out on Grindr, cause yes, I posted that photo of me wearing them on Grindr.  The second pair I came across in my photo search was a pair of bright orange pair of N2N briefs.  N2N consistently delivers fun and sexy underwear.  I have several pairs of their underwear, mostly orange I believe.  I usually get plenty of comments when I post a photo of me wearing them, as they tend to leave little to the imagination.  The last pair I came across was a pair of orange briefs I got with my first order from Aussiebum.  Whatever those folks in Australia are doing, they got underwear figured out.  I now own about 6 pairs of Aussiebum underwear.  I would count myself as a new fan of them and watch their site regularly now of new stuff.

Well, I guess there is really nothing more to do here than to share those favorites with you.  Stay tuned as I’m sure I’ll a lot more orange undies from my collection.  I hope you enjoy.

img_7318Last April a new brand came on the scene called SUKREW. It’s a funny name for a really interesting underwear brand. The owner took his 20 years of design experience and turned it to the world of underwear. Their philosophy  is “Our goal is to help you to look and feel sexual, sensual and confident, through creative designs, expert workmanship and quality materials”

The first pair they created was the y U Trunk. The U Trunk is made with U panel that makes you hang free. So you get the feel of underwear but also the feel of going commando. I have seen the pics and they look interesting. While it may not be for everyone its def something new in the world of men’s underwear.

Granted, some of you out there are going, but I like the mystery of underwear and not showing off what I have when out on a date or in general. Well, they have released a full brief that has an enclosed pouch! So you won’t have to worry about lack of support or modesty.

The pair we are profiling is the Union Jack Full Brief. The first reason we choose it is they are based out of the UK. Its only fitting to have the Union Jack on a pair of underwear. We always see the American flag on undies. It’s about time to see more countries on them. Next, the pouch looks really cool. They say the pouch will enhance your package. So it won’t have any straps or instructions how to put on. Lastly, they are a relatively new company and not in the US. We are definitely trying to bring you brands you may not know about!

If this pair is a little too wild for you they do have the same brief in solid colors. We will be interviewing them soon to bring you more info about the brand and how they got started!

The last time I saw SUKREW was at the end of last year before they added to their collections with the full briefs. Now they have 5 different collections and the original fit turnk and briefs, along with the full cut trunk and briefs. The Union Jack Full brief retails for £24.99 at their site. You can find them at http://www.sukrew.com/

It’s underwear release time! That mean’s its basically Christmas morning for me. I have known what a lot of brands were doing and now I can report on them. This happens two times a year in the spring (March-April) and then fall (August-September). Unlike most companies N2N Bodywear just releases one time a year in the spring so that makes this one extra fun for me.

I had the opportunity to sit down with Andrew, the owner of N2N Bodywear, in Vegas to talk about the new line. I didn’t get as much time as I had hoped with them. This year they showed in Magic rather than a suite. There was less time for me to get worked in, but they are one of my favorite brands and I was glad for the time I got. After the show I got to see the line sheets of the entire collection. So I was excited to see some of the swim and active wear. The underwear has a few new lines but not as many as the swim line!

This is a brief overview of the new collection. This is by no means everything that is new but some of the highlights. We will go into them in more detail on a pair by pair basis.

Underwear:

n2n-bodywear-california-dreamingCalifornia Dreaming – New for 2014. Is a collection who’s colors are inspired by California Available in a jock, bikini, brief, trunk and tank. Colors are red, pink, green and purple.

n2n-bodywear-cotton-classicsClassic Cotton – New for 2014. Have you ever wanted a simple pair of N2N Bodywear? The Classic Cotton is their basic collection. If you ever wanted the great N2N fit in a more classic style this if for you! Available in jock, g, bikini, pouch brief, pouch boxer, boxter, and long john. Colors available are Sunny Yellow, Crimson, Black and White.

n2n-bodywear-signature-collectionSignature Collection – This is one of my favorite collections N2N has created. It has one of the most comfortable trunks ever made. This years collection is made out of a black/blue, white/blue or grey/blue combination. This line still has the same styles.

Swimwear:

n2n-bodywear-lagunaLaguna – For some reason I have really gotten into prints. In previous years I have stayed away from them, but something about this year is making me gravitate to them. The Laguna line of swim is a bright blue/purple print of palm tress, its’ super cool. It’s available in bikini, trunk and jammer.

n2n-bodywear-prime-bold-sportPrime BOLD Sport – Have you ever stayed away from N2N swimwear because you didn’t want to show off too big a bulge? I know it sound crazy since this what N2N is known for, but some want a more conservative cut. The Bold Sport has the traditional cut of N2N swim without a defined pouch. Colors available are BOLD in Neon Orange, Neon Green and Navy. Styles are Sport Brief and Trunk
n2n-bodywear-daredevil
Daredevil – If you want to go to the other end of the spectrum from the Bold Sport, then the Daredevil is for you. The Daredevil is the skimpiest pair of swim they make. It’s a string bikini in bright and vibrant colors. The colors are Fuchsia, Yellow, Purple and Neon Orange.

This is just an overview of the new collection, there is a lot more to see! Head over to the N2N Bodywear site.

clever-thongSo let me flashback about two months to properly tell this story. It was during a cold winter day when I texted @UNBTim to talk site matters when we began talking about other underwear topics. I then told him something which may have surprised him: I had never worn a male thong. I had looked at many and considered it, but just could never bite the bullet or pull the trigger or any other description you prefer to use. I wasn’t happy that I never tried one as I felt I may be missing out on something as a guy that appreciates all things quality underwear. Tim wanted this to change so at the time he made a commitment to eventually send me a quality thong to properly break me in. Excited to hear this, I thanked him and awaited its arrival.

Flash forward to last week and the thong finally arrived in my mailbox. Once I returned to my apartment I surged to my room and began to put it on. I was excited to see how it felt. What would fabric between my cheeks feel like? Would it be too tight? Just right? Many questions were about to be answered. First impressions weren’t too bad. The pair is a Clever Mesh Silver Thong sized small. It is very sleek, but not to the point of being simply a stripper banana hammock. It is modern and I appreciate its look. I began to move about in these undies to see its functionality. Would I like walking around with fabric riding along my butt? I found that while I didn’t hate it, I wasn’t an overwhelming fan. It was a tad too constrictive for my liking. As I wore the pair throughout the day it did begin to loosen a bit, but it still was not to my optimal liking. It was almost as if the thong was changing my posture. Now this actually wasn’t a bad thing, but it was certainly unexpected.

I continued to explore how this thong felt as I made my trek to class. Full disclosure: Walking in a thong is a dream, but you feel naked while doing it, even if you’re wearing jeans. I’m sure many know this, but I certainly didn’t. Granted no one can see through my clothes, but I felt it in my mind. Sitting in class wasn’t too bad in terms of it riding up my butt as I feared. To a point it did, but it was certainly tolerable and once class was finished I was able to re-adjust myself and continue my day. Next stop? The gym! It was back day. I started with cardio, pedaling away on the stationary bike. Here I wasn’t necessarily fond of having a thong around my waist since it was riding up a storm. Would it perform better throughout the rest of the workout? Well, this answer is twofold. While it did give me great range of motion throughout activities, it just rode up my butt way too much. Therefore, I don’t think thongs are great gym underwear.

All in all, this wasn’t an awful experience. Thongs are different to say the least, though not necessarily in a bad way.. For tasks where you need to be on your feet moving or sitting idly in a desk chair, I think this style will suit me well going forward. You will not catch me in the gym with a thong underneath my shorts ever again though. There is simply too much discomfort for my tastes but at least I know this now. Loving underwear is all about experiences, whether good, bad, or a mix of both. This one falls in the third category, but I still will wear this thong again and maybe even another goi

MalePower Heather RibMalePower has a pretty loyal following amongst underwear lovers. They are known for their fetish wear, mesh materials and revealing cuts! The perfect example of this is the Fetish line that has a leather like material with barely there pouches and sometimes no pouch at all! They are all about having a guy feel and look sexy!  I have tried a few pairs and the zipper trunk I reviewed a few years ago was well made and felt great!

I hear some of you saying that you don’t want to wear mesh or fetish wear. MalePower is not all about barely there underwear. About two years ago they released the Bamboo collection.  The Bamboo is a more conservative line with traditional cuts (briefs, trunks and t shirts). It has been a best seller for them.

MalePower is making another collection that goes with the Bamboo styling.  That collection  is the Heather Rib Collection. Here is what they say about the collection: “Heather Rib is the perfect style for men who prefer to keep things simple and sexy. These shorts, jocks, thongs and bikinis come in basic grey, accented by a black, elastic logo waistband. Made with a polyester rayon fabric, they are smooth, soft and incredibly comfortable. Look sharp and feel great in Male Power’s most basically beautiful underwear”

It could be considered a basic collection from MalePower. It is their most conservative collection to date I think. One reason I say this is because the grey fabric is not something they are known for at all. They are better known for purples, greens and reds. So it’s refreshing to see something like this from them, knowing they can make a classic pair. Not everyone wants to wear a leather like pair to work!

This was just released and should be at retailers soon! We will bring you more about MalePower over the next week!

mensunderwearstore-whats-hot-aprilHere’s what’s hot in the US from Mensunderwearstore.com. Each month we team up with Mensunderwearstore to bring you some underwear you know and some new pairs you may not! Brands this month include CK, 2(X)ist, for those you know and Bread & Boxers for one you don’t!

Whether you’re pushing your body during an intense workout or going on a light jog, you’ll have the perfect level of comfort in these trunks. Plus, they come in seven color variations from basic black to bold red.

CK Dual Tone Hip Brief FrontCalvin Klein Dual Tone Hip Briefs

that when they stretch around the body, they reveal an extra layer of color that complements the top layer. Like all other CK styles, the hip briefs feature a supportive pouch, a logo waistband, and a figure-flattering fit that’s unmistakably classic.

Bread Boxers Briefs Front
Bread & Boxers Briefs
If you’re more of a basic-basics guy, Bread & Boxers, the trending lifestyle brand, produces some of the best basics on the market. B&B’s underwear are made of soft stretch cotton and come in the most comfortable basic fits. These briefs are no-brainers; Sure, they’re not flashy and come in three neutral colors, but these are the kind of comfortable, well-fitting undies you don’t have to think about when you’re getting ready in the mornings. Call them “no-stress underwear.” We call them the new basic must-haves.

TX Turbo collage 22(x)IST Turbo Collection
2(x)IST’s Turbo collection is easily our hottest pick of the month. These microfiber underwear and tank tops come in a stretchy, smooth microfiber and 5 color combinations in an edgy design. All of the styles (the briefs,
trunks and jock straps) hug the body for an extra sexy look and comfortable support. The best part: our entire selection is 25% off Snag a pair while you still can. These undies are going fast.

PUMP Touchdown Trunk
PUMP Touchdown Trunks
Sporty underwear is right on-trend for spring, and no other brand does this style better than PUMP! These trunks  are made of mesh fabric that’s slightly see-through, giving it a hint of sexiness. With a  bold logo waistband and bold striped leg openings to give them a rugby vibe, these trunks provide style, contouring and a comfortable fit whether you’re wearing these during a hot and heavy workout or sporting them casually.

IS_ausboy_LongLeg_Black_OK_140408163429aussieBum has just released the new range AusBoy. The AusBoy range is the newest ergonomically designed underwear. First, let me say that usually aB makes really good undies and I have never had an issue with any fit. But, if they are entering this market I welcome it and feel they will hit a home run. Taking the great construction and mixing in the erognomic design how could they not win!

The first thing that catches your eye is the unique panel design. This design is made to fit a guy and how he moves in sports and in every day life. It creates a pouch  to give you support without binding or restricting motion. The pictures feature the model playing cricket, but I have found underwear made for sports is great for every day wear.

The next thing that made me take notice is the material. The AusBoy line is made out of modal. Which has become my favorite fabric in underwear. This is for two reasons. Modal is super soft and feels amazing against the skin. Second, modal is very breathable and keeps you cool. Modal has become the material companies are starting to use in underwear on a bigger scale. I hope we will see it become the dominant fabric.

Those of you who have been long time readers know I love a waistband. It’s one of the reasons I buy a  pair. The AusBoy has a new aB Waistband. I  like it it’s a bold design and available in black/red (Omega) or blue and red (Alpha). This is the only color in the pair. The body of the pairs are white.

AusBoy is available in a brief, hipster (trunk) and L-leg (boxer brief). This is one of the few times I remember aB making a longer legged boxer brief. I vaguely remember one a while back but it’s not a standard style for them. That being said with a pair designed for sports it’s a smart decision to have it in the collection. Many guys prefer this length when wearing underwear for cricket, baseball and such.

It’s always great to see aussiBum’s new pairs. They are not a company that stays in one box and does the same underwear over and over. They are a company that will take risks. The pairs are available now and the pairs cost, Brief $28, Hipster $30 and L-leg  $34. All available on the aussieBum site now

The tag line of the campaign is “When dreams become reality.” You will see the models blending into the background in the lifestyle images they have released. The picture above is set in the Wild West, which is a bit of a departure from the Greek heritage, but they still keep their unique take on undies!

Find this and more on their site. Here is their write up for the collection:

Let the self you dream of become reality with Modus Vivendi’s new campaign, Dreamland. Igniting images of men, idols and heroes that fascinate and excite, Dreamland presents some of the world’s most coveted male characters, and invites you to become one of them. Be what you dream.

papi_08You either love or hate animal prints. I have sort of a love hate relationship myself. Some of the prints are amazing while others are a miss. If you fall into the second part of that we may have an animal print you may love. Papi just released the new Wild Thing collection. It’s available in a jock and trunk. The jock is what we are going to be covering.

The Wild Thing collection is a solid fabric with a cheetah print in the same color. So the print is very slight and not over the top. It adds a bit of style to what would be a solid color. I think they did a great job coming up with this collection.  This is because it will allow more guys to step outside their solid underwear box and try something a little more wild!

The jock is a traditional jock. The waistband is a grey 1 1/4 inch branded with the Papi logo in the center. Legs straps really can make or break a jock, this pair has a 3/4 inch leg straps that match their other jocks in their line up. Lastly is the material, it is made out of a 63% Nylon / 32% Polyester / 5% Spandex fabric.

Colors are key to this pair and they have just released four bright fun colors. Those colors are Black, Intensity (Red), Purple and Storm Blue. My favorite is the Black. When you think of a black pair you’re expecting solid dark black. This is more of a grey with the cheetah print.

Papi really created something out of the ordinary with this pair. Hats off to the creativity for this one. It goes along with our philosophic that underwear should be fun and add to your wardrobe. This one would do that and would be great under jeans or even under a suit.

As we stated it’s available in a Brazilian Trunk as well. The jock retails for $28.00 on the Papi site.

vizeau-weekDays of the week underwear is something you think of when you’re younger. It’s a cute way to get When you get older you don’t  need a reason to change underwear. We have readers who change their underwear 2-3 times a year. I remember one reader who wore a pair in the morning, then changed at the gym, and then changed after the gym into another pair.

Vizeau has released a new collection called “Days of the Week.” Which is the most conservative style I have seen from the brand! Usually their pairs  super skimpy and those who dare to bare and almost show off everything. The new collection is a series of boxer briefs with the days of the week on the waistband. Each one is sold separately, so you can buy your favorite day or get a few!

I Love that that each day has a different color and waistband. It’s not so cookie cutter. Most of our readers want unique and fun underwear, so a brand that makes it all the same is not one you guys would be interested in. Its just enough difference to make the pairs stand out. Each boxer brief/trunk is the same cut but a different main color.  On top of that is a tailor made waistband with the name embroidered in to the fabric.

Just by the picture it looks as if each pair does have a defined pouch. So, they took some time to include their style into the pair and not make them so plain. The accent around the pouch also will set off and accent your pouch.

If you have wanted to try Vizeau and didn’t want to go for something wild now is the time to check them out! Also, if you’re a fan of the brand and want to have something you can wear to the gym, they just may have something for you now! Find this and more at the Vizeau site.
