For the next week we are going to bring you some of the newest lifestyle pictures from PPU, Clever, Pikante, Candyman and the brand above, Vuthy. I will be in Vegas this next week and will bring you the latest on the lines. I hope you enjoy a week of great pics! Stay tuned for more!

Bikini swimsuit low waist made of a soft elastic material printed with splash of paint in different colors giving it a modern and fun look, with elastic band at the waist in a single tone with internal drawcord for a perfect fit. Composition: 80% Nylon, 20% Spandex.

NDS Wear known for their diverse line of men’s swimwear has done it again!  What a fun way to kick off a new year by sporting my first pair of new swim wear added to my collection.  This occurred earlier last week upon receiving these amazing, classic navy and yellow jammers.  I took these out for a test run in the pool at my local gym and fell in love with these sporty briefs immediately.   While I’m usually a trunk kind of guy even when it comes to swimwear, these are exceptionally well constructed and faltering to the male torso.

Whether you’re looking for swimwear for water sports, simply walking on the beach, or lying out at the pool, these have you covered on all accounts.  First, the construction and fabrics used in this sexy jammer is what I’ve come to appreciate from this manufacturer. These carry a blend of 83% Nylon and 17% Spandex.  This creates the perfect weight for ensuring these will keep their shape for seasons to come.

For me, perfect construction is a fundamental requirement of swimwear due to the relentless abuse and multi-function tasks that we require from a good pair of jammers.  These Austin Jammers have a piping yellow contrast running from upper back side to front leg side with an additional accent white piping.  Lined inside front and back and also carries an adjustable string for a tighter and secure fit.  Great ready boys, these are going to make you head to the pool early!

Can you tell us about the new swimwear line? (ie. what inspired you, how did it come about etc)

We are so excited about the launch of BODYJOCK’s new swimwear line! Launching the collection just in time for Spring/Summer 2012, we created a swimwear collection inspired by Miami’s art deco design and the South Florida lifestyle. The line showcases two swimsuit styles; the boxer cut and classic brief. Boasting 84% Nylon/16% Spandex, BODYJOCK swimwear is form fitting and comfortable to wear. Our carefully selected vivid colors include black, navy, yellow, and red. The collection has been described as sporty and sexy while fusing boldness with masculinity.

What made you create the new line?

As an online retailer of men’s underwear and swimwear, we’ve been distributing the “best of the best” of designer brands since 2008. Truth be told, we were less than impressed with swimwear collections over the past two years! Living on the beaches of South Florida, gay men and straight men alike were seeking muscle type swimwear; something masculine which they would feel comfortable wearing at the beach or poolside. We listened and designed a sporty square style featuring dynamic colors and full coverage. For those wanting to be a bit more adventurous, we created the brief line cut.  Both creations were carefully constructed to accentuate best assets.

You do something I haven’t seen much, you are giving back with every pair you sell, can you tell us why you decided to d do this and what charity you are working with?

Before BODYJOCK, I served the not-for-profit community for over 23 years. Whether I was helping people with disABILITIES or providing food to the poor, I learned early in my career the importance of corporate social responsibility, and the need for all businesses to be good corporate citizens.  The underwear industry, being a multi-billion dollar industry, has a huge responsibility to get involved! Our hope is for BODYJOCK to start a trend of “giving back” in our industry for the betterment of the community.

Recently, I toured the Ronald McDonald House Charities of South Florida. After seeing the amazing support given to terminal children and their families, we were moved to help. Two dollars from every sale of the BODYJOCK swimwear line (wholesale or retail) will be donated to Ronald McDonald House Charities. Each year we will select and/or add additional charities which represent a great need in our community.  BODYJOCK challenges others in our industry to become visible community supporters and use the unique opportunity we have to inspire our followers and customers to get involved!

You got some local publicity in the Miami/FTL area, how did that happen? It’s not often we see men’s swimwear on local news.

Honestly, I was so surprised when I received the phone call from CBS 4 Miami. Having lifestyles reporter Lisa Petrillo, who has interviewed such celebrities as Oprah, Tom Cruise, etc., contact me to spotlight our swimwear collection,…well you can imagine my reaction! Being represented as “the go to swimwear for buff beach goers” was an incredible honor and, we feel, a testament to the great swimwear BODYJOCK is offering this summer!

What can we expect in the future from BodyJock?

With such a successful swimwear launch, BODYJOCK Co has decided to transition from selling other name brands to producing more of its own designs in swimwear, underwear, and active wear! Fortunate to have such amazing partners like Posche Models and photographer Jorge Freire, expect to see sexy and hot campaigns showcasing our new products in the upcoming year.

Where can we find BODYJOCK swimwear?

Customers looking for BODYJOCK swimwear can purchase this incredible new swimwear line directly from our website at: http://www.bodyjockco.com, or they can find us (and other great products) on alphamaleundies.com, shophistrunks.com and studzgear.com.

Our goal is to get the BODYJOCK brand into stores everywhere! We can be contacted for amazing wholesale opportunities at contact@bodyjockco.com

Just for UNB Readers you can get 25% off BODYJOCK swimwear until Feb. 19th with code UNBFAN! We want to thanks BODYJOCK for doing that, so go get some great swimwear and give back to a great charity!

I was lucky enough to get a copy of “Trunk Show: Swimwear Inspires Art” by Jason Salzenstein to review. I was really looking forward to seeing it, because I bought Jason’s last book “Brief Encounters.”  The two books are set up very similar, divided into two parts. The first part is about swimwear companies and the second part is showcasing photographers.

The first part of the books is about companies doing great swimwear. Jason has written up all the companies in the book and included a picture or few from recent campaigns. One of the most notable are ES Collection. ES Collection is a brand we profile a lot in our Brief Distractions. They have always done incredible photographer, not only for swimwear but for everything they sell. Other brands featured in the book include aussieBum, Baskit, 2EROS, CA-RIO-CA and more.

The second part features photographers who have done some incredible work with swimwear. Photographers in the book include Karim Konrad, Pedro Virgil Alan Spiers and more. Each photographer has at least two pics showcasing their talent. Some of the pics you may have seen out on the net. This is true if you are familiar with the photographers. The section Dean Stockings features Timoteo and have made it to be our Brief Distractions. I know he didn’t get every photographer to participate, but would have been great to see a few more photogs in there.

I really liked the book. Its a great way to celebrate men’s swimwear. The details are just a great overview of the companies. I think a super detailed and in depth profile (sort of like a Vanity Fair style) would be too much. The profiles are just the right length. I think the photography section could be a little longer, but that is my only complaint, which is a minor one! I know what it’s like to negotiate pictures and try to use them. Even with out more pictures it’s a great overview of the men’s swimwear industry.

We interviewed Jason a few weeks ago when the book came out. You can click the link and go read it. We will have him on a podcast soon, we just have to work out our schedules.

I would rate the book a 4.5 out of 5. It is definitely well worth the price. You can pick this up at the Bruno Gmünder site (who is the publisher) or you can get some good deals at Amazon if you keep checking. Currently it’s just over $24 on Amazon.

MALE POWER FISH BOWL COLLECTION ARRIVES AT JOCKSTRAP CENTRAL”Want to come back to my place and check out my fish bowl?” Sure it sounds like a corny pick-up line but just drop your pants and give them a peek and you’re sure to get them hook line and sinker.

Whether it’s the jockstrap, the thong or the fitted trunk, all three of the Fish Bowl Collection have a 100% see-through contoured plastic pouch. It’s a bit crazy (OK a lot crazy) but it’s totally hot and you’re sure to be the center of attention wearing Male Power’s latest creations.

As always, the newsletter photo is a bit G-rated for public consumption so be sure to visit the website to see our model Adam Stray’s aquatic exotic specimen displayed exquisitely in all three fish bowls.

Trunk Show is your second book, can you tell us a little about this one?

Of course! After finishing Brief Encounters – the first book – I took a little time off, then moved into the library, where I buried myself in research for months… OK, I’m totally kidding- actually I just wanted another excuse to spend a few months looking at almost-naked guys!

In all honesty, although I don’t try to take take these books too seriously, I did spend a lot of time looking at the history of men’s swimwear. Not just how styles have changed over the years, but how society has both affected and reflected those changes. I think it’s interesting to look at how things have changed in greater society, alongside the more “European” styles of swimwear have become more accepted – and fashionable – in in the U.S.  Of course I know that most people who pick up the book are just going to look at the guys; my hope is that if they buy it, they look at it a dozen times and finally decide to read some of it!

What made you write Trunk Show and Brief Encounters?

As a style editor in the gay media world, I reviewed a lot of beautiful coffee table books, and have written introductions and forewords for a few. Someone at Bruno Gmunder – the publishers – had read some of these and asked if I would be interested in doing an anthology. I realized that putting a book like this together is a lot like putting together a fashion editorial or runway show- which I’ve done a lot.

Pictures above are by Allan Spiers (left) and ES Collection (Right). Both are in Trunk Show.

What brands do you think are doing a great job with their advertising and imagery?

In general, I have a lot of respect for brands that understand and recognize the value of their image, especially in the long-term. There’s been a lot of brand erosion over the past 10-years, even among major names that have been around for decades. Part of this was due to the rise of the web and social media, and of course the economic conditions over the past years.  There are still a few labels who’ve managed to weather the storm; whose brand identity hasn’t suffered. Louis Vuitton is the perfect example; they don’t compromise and everything that bears their logo has been carefully considered to ensure it fits the brand and the target customer.

In the world of underwear and swimwear, all of the brands that I included in the book are my favorites. I know this may sound like a cop-out, and it might seem like “too many” favorites, but given that I looked at almost 100 different brands when I began working on Trunk Show, the handful that I chose really stand out.

If I had to narrow that down further, in terms of imagery my personal favorites are aussieBum, Teamm8 and Skmpeez.  The photography, the composure, the styling… all three brands just do a really good job of bringing everything together. Of course it doesn’t hurt that the guys they use are scorching hot!

What made you write both books? I have Brief Encounters and think it’s a great book.

Thanks!  Unfortunately, after underwear and swimwear, there’s not a lot of places to move on to for a third volume, that let’s me stick with my favorite philosophy of as-little-clothing-as-possible!  (Although I’ve been working on that one, so don’t count it out…)

Where can people buy this book?

I’d love it if everyone could but it at their local independent bookstore, but it’s also available at gay book and gift shops, most Barnes & Noble stores, and of course online at Amazon etc.

Any other plans for the future?

Hopefully more books! I’m also working on expanding my blog and focusing more on my creative consulting. I work with a few brands and local stores, on everything from window design and displays to broadening their brand and improving the customer experience. I’m also in talks for a possible radio or web show focused on eco-friendly and easy DIY home decor and gifts, so we’ll see!

Stay tuned we will have Jason on a podcast soon!

I’d love it!

I know you are saying that its going into Fall and new swimwear? Well in the southern hemisphere it’s approaching spring and summer. Bonewear is one of those companies I think is doing really cool things. The suit in the pic is one I really like, it’s not over the top camo but it’s just fun. Acutally all the suits are, if you want something different then everyone else, check out the three new suits from Bonewear.

The Popsicle G is very similar in design and feel to its thong cousin, the Raider X G.  Like its cousin, the Popsicle G has a particular problem with its thong length.  The Popsicle G does for N2N’s swimwear what the Raider X G does for N2N’s thongs: it shows off the butt and “enhances” certain features (whether or not you need the “enhancing” in the first place).  The Popsicle G features slightly more nylon than the Raider X G(87% vs 86%) in the fabric blend (87% nylon, 17% spandex), but otherwise it feels just like the Raider down to the elastic waistband.  This includes the lack of slack in the thong part of the Popsicle. My pair was dark pink with yellow stenciling, though N2N does give you a choice of yummy colors including: raspberry, glacial blue, lime, orange, and lemon ice.

I had an opportunity to give the Popsicle G a thorough trial in a private, deserted pool, Which was a good thing since the Popsicle became so uncomfortable while swimming around that I opted to just take it off completely and swim naked.  Most of the irritation was from the lack of slack in the thong strap, which loops under the butt to join at the “enhancing” pouch in front.  If there was a little more give in the pouch, the Popsicle G would be really comfortable to wear while swimming, and I am certain that it would grab plenty of attention!

These were furnished for review by N2N Bodywear!

I spend way too much money each year on new swimsuits but I find myself consistently wearing the few pairs I own by Andrew Christian. I was very excited to get the chance to review their Almost Naked Swim Brief. Upon arrival, I could immediately tell the swim brief was made from the same great quality materials that I’ve been used to getting with Andrew Christian. The tag line for the product line is “Be a Devil, Feel Like an Angel—and that pretty much sums up my review here. For starters, this style is not for the shy. There is no lining on the pouch of the suit so every little contour shows through. The front pouch is designed as “hang free” so it really “puts it all out there.” This is not a suit I would wear in front of my family. However, if you were planning a quiet evening of night swimming with a partner or someone you wanted to “impress,” this might be the suit to grab.

The material is Sport UPF 50 Fade Resistant Fabric, which means, if you take care of it correctly, it should keep its vibrant color even after multiple wears in the sun. I’ve never tanned through a bathing suit before nor have I sun burned through one, so I’m not sure how the UPF works for your actual skin. The material stretches quite well but I did find the size small a bit too small around the leg opening and waist. The pouch has plenty of room for all different sized men.

I will probably wear this swim brief less than my other Andrew Christian designs, and maybe only when feeling a little risqué.

Pros: Great Quality fabric and construction, per usual Andrew Christian

Con: Wearing the suit gives onlookers a free class on the male anatomy
