Men’s Swimwear

It could be a little early to be thinking about swimwear, nah, it’s never too early to think about swimwear! It’s time to get thinking about what you plan to wear this summer. One brand that you def have to check out is Smithers Swimwear.

One pair that you have to get now is the Synergy. This is a limited edition suit that will be won’t be around for long. Here is what Smithers has to say about the pair:

Smithers has produced an exclusive print to celebrate Sydney Mardi Gras. This limited edition crosshatch swimsuit is available in classic briefs and with only a handful made, you won’t want to miss out. The 2020 Sydney Mardi Gras theme is ‘What matters’ and for Smithers, this translates into diversity and inclusion capturing a mix of ethnicities, sexualities, genders, cultures, religion, and of course, bodies of all shapes and sizes. Being a swimwear brand, we recognise the importance of body positivity and we want you and the community we’ve established to not only embrace differences, but to celebrate them. We wish you all a fun, safe and happy Mardi Gras!

I love the design and it’s super creative. I wish this was not a limited edition pair, because I think it would be an all-time best seller in the line up of smithers.

This season we wanted to stay true to our designs and keep things vibrant and fresh, and keep away from solid block prints that everyone else seems to do. Our inspiration was California Coastal town – Capitola Beach. With its Art Deco Coloured & mission style buildings down on the harbour, it was the basis for the new nine prints for the season. We have kept with a blue base but added pops of pinks, greens and red/organges to add a splash of colour. Our designer, has made all our prints from scratch, we don’t use any stock prints for our collections.

We also have refined our drawstrings to a fine white cord with our signature matt black cord ends! The cut hasn’t changed as we are finding many customer are already buying their 4th and 5th orders based on the cut, the vibrant colours and the brands durability.

Our editorial shoot this season was shot again by our Photographer, Russell Fleming, and we went for two models ( with more to come ) to open the season. Mitchell who was in our last two campaign is back again and has proved a favourite with our customers, so it was obvious to us to have him back for season three, Shot in Fingal Head Australia, we took to the ocean and the rocky point to compliment the colours of the collection.

New to the brand and an instant hit with customers and fans is Toby, who is exclusive to Turlock&Co this season. he’s 6’3″ tall, quietly spoken and has the most insane build with the hair to match!.. Toby went with Russell to Shoot in Byron Bay, and the beach is just outside of Chris Hemsworth’s Mega Mansion. unfortunately he wasn’t home that day!..

As Turlock&Co, move into 2020, we will be releasing our first range of mens swim shorts, we are excited for this addition to the collection, as they will be great for a summers day out and about and of course the daily swim. With our exclusive prints, four way stretch and soft mesh inside brief, our shorts will wear to impress. They also have zippered pockets and made with quick drying materials

One company that I love to see their new swimwear is Marcuse. Each time they release a line, I love their designs. This year they have a few more swim shorts than in previous collections. Don’t worry, there are still plenty of swim briefs.

This company from down under really does an amazing job each collection. This one has some really amazing colors in their line up. One that is super interesting to me is the Barrack, which has cut outs around the waistband. It’s sexy to me without being over the top

Here is an overview of the collection:

One of my favorite pairs from Sluggers has been the Banana Hammock. Yes, this is actually the real name of these. When you head out and rock these you can say “Do you like my Banana Hammocks?”

You can bet these will be a big hit this summer down under (yes, summer is about to start), and here in the States. I want a pair myself. I mean how could I not want a pair??

At UNB we are all about all guys wearing what they want and feel sexy wearing. Sluggers as a company do amazing things, they make the patter in a few different styles. Each of these styles are designed to fit a specific body type.

This chart will help you pick the perfect style for your body type! It’s great to see a company do this! No matter your size you will look amazing rocking these swim briefs. This isn’t for this pair but every pair they make!

In the mean time, go to the Sluggers site and pick up your Banana Hammocks!

Mertailor Men is one of the most creative and fun swimwear. They have made swimwear in fun prints and amazing solid colors. Their new line has some of the best and brightest colors and prints on the market.

Some of our NEWEST designs! Did you know that Mertailor Men produces all of our products in the USA? From printing our own fabrics to sewing each and every single suit, we make sure you are getting a quality product that will last you!

Here is a quick look at the new collection:

Swimwear season may be gone in US, but there are some great trips that can be taken or get ready for next year.

We here at UNB have been on the Swim brief wagon for many years. Each year we challenge guys to break out and wear something different. That caused the formation of the Swim Brief & Swim Thong Challenges. This year we didn’t push it as much as we usually do, but we are still big on the style!

A new Instagram account is out that we support their mission. The mission of this account is two-fold. The first mission is that more guys should wear swim briefs. The second is that guys of any shape or size should wear them. So, they are super body positive. The account is the Speedo Movement.

They are “Speedo Activist,” which is “Promoting male body positivity and the worldwide acceptance of swim briefs on all bodies. DIM to share your own speedo story. “

We asked them why they started:

My husband and I started this page to help with the idea that speedos can look great on everybody! Male body positivity is a real thing, and it’s a shame that society limits the idea that only fit, buff men with a six-pack can enjoy time in the sun in a speedo. This page is a way to share a safe space with the world, where no matter your story, you can stand alongside other people who love wearing a swim brief! We try to make sure everyone gets a feature, and providing diversity across all categories is very important to us!

The Speedo Movement hasn’t been on Instagram long, but they are making an impact. SM has been showing guys of all sizes rocking the swim brief. Guys are out in public (pools and beaches) and in private. It’s great to see all these guys.

Speaking as a “bigger” guy, I get self-conscious about being out in public in a swim brief. Yes, even the owner of UNB has these issues. It’s not just you guys.

If you want to be featured, follow them on IG and send them a message.

3 simple hacks to look pumped on the beach

Personal trainer and fitness model Jeremy Winter obviously knows all about how to get lean and strong, but when he hit the San Diego beach for a swimwear shoot with photographer Armando Adajar, he was looking extra pumped.

Jeremy’s impressive physique definitely showcased the swimwear range from Hunk2, and turned plenty of heads.

We quizzed him on how he achieved the kind of pump that enables you to hit the beach with confidence.

Putting the work in

“I take my fitness very seriously…” confirms Jeremy. “A few of my family members are a bit overweight – I didn’t want to be like that. I’ve been active my whole life – swimming competitively since the age of four.”

“Swimming was my main focus in school – that kept me lean and toned. Once I moved to California, I pumped up my training. I got a personal trainer who helped me understand how to build muscle and how to tone up.”

“After that, I got my own personal training certification. I do a lot of HIIT workouts, mixed with weights. I teach at two HIIT gyms, so I go there everyday to take class and do my strength training.”

Beach Body Pump – Hack 1: Intervals

Switching your gym workout to intense interval training helps to burn maximum calories – getting you lean and strong and ready for the beach.

Intense intervals gets your body working hard, meaning that even once your workout is over your body continues to burn calories at a higher rate than normal.

You can use a number of different exercises to achieve this effect – it could be on the rowing machine, the exercise bike, or running – what you’re looking for are short bursts of intense exercise with only minimal recovery time between each set.

Beach Body Pump – Hack 2: Hydration

You read some stories about fitness models or body-builders who cut back on liquids ahead of a big shoot or competition in order to look as ripped as possible.

That’s a really extreme step and isn’t something you should be considering if you just want to have some fun on the beach.

If you want to look your best on the beach, you should be drinking more water – not less. Staying hydrated will help your metabolism function effectively, and will help your skin look as fresh as possible.

Try and avoid eating anything that contains a lot of salt. Salt encourages the body to retain fluids and will leave you feeling a bit heavier than you want.

Beach Body Pump – Hack 3: Confidence

It’s important to remember that no one is going to be scrutinising you in the way that you study yourself in the mirror. We’re all our own worst critic.

We’ve all got things we’d like to improve about our bodies, but hitting the beach with a smile and a sense of fun is a lot more important than whether everyone appreciates the hard work you’ve been putting in at the gym.

I’m all about feeling comfortable in your own skin…” says Jeremy. “Don’t worry about what others think. Go out and live your best life!”

Cocksox furnished the CX02PR Zebra Swim Brief for review. All opinions are that of the reviewer.

Rating: 8.6/10

  • Daily Fit: 9/10
  • Sizing: 9/10
  • Construction: 7/10
  • Styling: 9/10
  • Daily Performance: 9/10

Pros:

  • Playful prints
  • Dual use as underwear

Cons:

  • Unlined
  • Price

While I have tried a lot of Cocksox underwear, this was my first opportunity to try their swimwear. I would consider the CX02PR swim brief a combo swimwear/underwear.

This swim brief has no drawstring and is unlined. Other than the Polyester/Lycra fabric blend, this is as close to Cocksox underwear as swimwear gets. This of course is not a complaint from me, but something you should be aware of as you consider your purchase.

I’d say this one is for the really bold man who is looking to show off a bit at a pool party or on a beach. The pouch is the Original Cocksox pouch which is designed to lift your package up and out to enhance the look. Combined with an unlined pouch, and a see-through when wet white fabric, this isn’t for the timid. While I personally am a fan, I did deduct some points for these items simply because I know that this one wouldn’t be appealing to a lot of guys.

Thankfully, Cocksox has provided a few color options for this swim brief, and some of those would work better when wet, if you’re not looking to show off EVERYTHING. The fabric is comfortable and the quality is top-notch, as one would expect from Cocksox.

If you’re feeling bold, check this Zebra print swim brief. For those who are not as bold, you may want to check out one of the other color options and/or other styles. The quality is worth it, you will just need to read descriptions to find the right style for your comfort level.

PAIR: Cocksox CX02PR Swim Brief

COLORS: Zebra, Giraffe, Paradise Palms, Hibiscus Cruise

FABRIC: 80% Polyester 20% Extra Life Lycra®

You guys LOVE swim thongs! Some of you like the super skimpy wile others like a more T-back design. One brand that I wanted to profile is Rick Majors. It’s a brand that I believe is exclusively at International Jock. The line has really impressed me with the underwear and swimwear.

One pair in particular I think you guys would love to check out is the Low Rise Swim Thong. The first reason is I thinker’s a great cut for a thong. Second is the colors that are available. Most times swimwear comes in just a few colors. This line has 8 different colors.

Here is a little about the line itself.

Created in California, Rick Majors underwear and swimwear is designed for men who want to be seen, not hidden. Each style in the collection utilizes a fit, color and fabric to accentuate the best you have to offer and make you feel cool, comfortable and confident. Unconventional men wear Rick Majors to create an irresistible attitude that starts from within, comes out in their clothing and sets them apart from all the rest.

If you are looking for a new swim thong, check out the Rick Majors line. They also have the same colors in a swim brief.

Not everyone embraces the snug fit and body-conscious cut of the men’s bikini, but we’re on a bit of a mission to get more guys to give it a try.

Our resident photographer Armando Adajartook fitness model Alex Edown to the beach in San Diego and managed to persuade him to pull on our bright and bold bikini styles.

Following the shoot, We caught up with Alex to see if he was a convert.

The verdict on the bikini

Men’s bikini swimwear – or swim-briefs – isn’t a style that we see a lot of on the beaches of North America – most guys tend to favour surf-shorts or swim-trunks. Men wearing bikinis is much more common in Europe, and it’s a style that is fairly universally embraced by gay guys.

“When I first tried them on, I realised how great they are!” confirmed Alex, when we asked him how he felt trying on a bikini for the first time. “Maybe I’m a bit more European in my outlook, but I feel like people should be less afraid of exposing their bodies – there’s just so much freedom and confidence that comes with being comfortable in your skin.”

“What I like about the men’s bikini is that you don’t end up with tan lines in inconvenient places…” added Alex. “Plus, it’s an excuse to show the quads off!”

“This is swimwear that exudes confidence, no matter what your body type is…” advised Alex. “Life is too short to worry about what other people might say or think. The male physique should be celebrated. I feel like the bikini is definitely the style that shows off the male physique the best.”

“If I’m planning a hike or something, I might still opt for shorts or trunks…” considered Alex. “But, for hanging out on the beach, the bikini is definitely where it’s at.”

Embracing an outdoors lifestyle

“I recently moved to San Diego from Oklahoma, so you can imagine how much a previously landlocked guy loves the water…” explains Alex. “My family and friends hate me because I’m on the beach so much. I can’t get enough of it!”

“The beach is the one place I can be active and hike, hang out with friends, or just work on my tan – all in the same day!”

Using Instagram for inspiration

We’ve been following Alex E’s fitness journey through his regular updates on Instagram. We asked him how he stays motivated.

“Growing up, I was always the ultra-skinny kid…” explained Alex. “I’m talking bean-pole-skinny, at 5’11” and 140 pounds. There’s nothing wrong with being lean, but my confidence suffered from it, and as a result, I was bullied throughout school.”

“One day, I decided I wanted to live a healthier, more confident lifestyle, so I picked up the weights and pushed myself…” added Alex. “I ended up falling in love with weightlifting. I love constantly pushing myself in the weight room, and in the rest of my life by extension.”

“I think of Instagram as my fitness log, and if I don’t share my progress, I miss out on being able to look back on how far I’ve come on my fitness journey…” shrugged Alex. “One of the biggest compliments I can get is that I am an inspiration. If I can inspire just one person, I think that documenting my journey is worthwhile. I know what it feels like to be directionless and to lack confidence, so I hope that my fitness journey can help others to find that direction.”

Not just a pretty face

“I’m actually currently applying to medical school…” said Alex, when our conversation turns to goals and aspirations for the months ahead. “I know I’m a nerd, but the sciences and intricacies of the human body are huge passions of mine.”

“I’m also pursuing a modeling career…” added Alex. “Being from Oklahoma, I lacked the resources to pursue modeling, but now I’m going at it full force. I’m hoping to start a career in fitness modeling.”
