Welcome to the 2012 Holiday Guide. This has to be the biggest guide we have done to date. We had over 80 pairs of underwear, three models, a photographer, an assistant and a stylist. We are going into our own photography and will be launching something soon, so stay tuned. First we would like to thank our sponsors: Candyman, Clever, Pikante, PPU, Vuthy and Zylas at Gold Level, Croota and Premium Underwear Store for Bronze and Designer Drawers at Silver! A special shout out to Matt at Designer Drawers for helping get our models and our stylist.

Today’s Brief Distraction is from Cover Male. This series of pics features Colby Malvin. You may say he looks familiar, you would be right! He has been featured in another designers underwear campaigns recently. Can you guess which one?

Our friends over at FreshPair.com sent up some exclusive Q&A with Cover Male. They are one of the newest brands on the market. The thing you notice most is they are fun and bright!
Cover Male, which just launched in January, has already had a great response from consumers. What do you think sets Cover Male apart from other sexy men’s underwear brands?
As Cover Male’s Designer, one of the main things that I try to concentrate on is always having that touch of elegance and sophistication in every single piece designed, not only to create timeless and classic undergarments for the modern male, but to create/boost the self-confidence and self-satisfaction that every man deserves. I believe that Cover Male works well on portraying these elements with its bold colors and modern cuts; making Cover Male the new “it” and “must-have” brand of the year.
What advice would you give to the man who’s not familiar with fashion underwear?
The advice I’d give to all men in general is to be more aware of what they are rocking down under. Men’s jeans are not as they used to be anymore. Low-rise jeans are now made to sit on the hips leaving the waistband of their underwear exposed. Their underwear is more visible than they think, a slight bend over or a lift an arm can show the world what they’re wearing down under. So make sure to have a pair of underwear that looks good when you accidently show off that side of you; just have one of Cover Male’s waistbands for that brief flash tease, it should do the trick.
Is there a style you’d recommend to the man who’s considering buying his first pair of Cover Male?
Yes, I would recommend our basic cuts: Waisted-Up Bikini and Waisted-Up Trunk. The comfort of these styles is amazing! They provide a great fit, impeccable flexibility and most importantly, a great workout companion under your shorts

As an avid underwear fan, I’m always excited to try out new brands. However, I find it is so easy for me to just stick with my favorites on a daily basis, and I end up missing out on some great new brands that are out there. Like this bikini from Cover Male.
Launched in 2011, Cover Male creates sexy underwear that a man can wear on a daily basis. This is a goal of many underwear companies, I Cover Male has hit the nail just about on the head with this one.
I love the waistband on these. The name squarely centered on the front and back between the Cover Male logo, I didn’t feel any binding that is often the reason I don’t wear some of the briefs I own (I hate having to tug at the waist band of some briefs, and there’s nothing worse then a brief-induced muffin top). I reviewed a Medium size, which fit perfectly for my 31-inch waist. The fabric, 83% polyester & 17% spandex, feels great on the skin. With a center seam, the pouch does a great job of keeping everything in place. I do wish the seat were a little fuller, as I found myself doing the dreaded underwear pick a couple of times throughout the day.

Available in 11 colors. Furnished for review by Cover Male

It’s an itsy bitsy teeny weenie yellow…banana hammock? That was my first reaction to the fluorescent yellow Cover Male jock strap. Upon first look, it doesn’t even appear to be large enough to cover even the smallest of men. I am happy to say my first reactions were incorrect. As I stepped into the jock strap, I found it quite comfortable and extremely sexy. The wide, soft waist band and straps make it comfortable along the legs and hips while the 83% polyester and 17% Spandex pouch hold much more than you would think.
The pouch is shaped perfectly to hold even the largest package with its stretchy material and nicely places stitching. There is one negative though, you have to wear your package facing down. If you face it the wrong way, you will find nothing fits in this piece.
Available in nine colors from black to yellow and sizes small to x-large, you can find a pair of this underwear in your favorite shade. One downside is that the materials require that this underwear be machine washed and lay flat to dry. It is difficult to remember to take these out of the laundry to dry. That being said, I forgotten both times I have washed it. It still looks as great as when it came out of the package.
All in all a great brief, easy to wear, and very sexy to the eye. It receives a definite positive review from me, especially when I am looking to be as skimpy as possible.

I was excited to receive Cover male’s bikini brief in royal blue as I had the chance to try their running short a few weeks back and was a fan. All the things I loved about the running short were here in the bikini brief in a more wearable and supportive style. The poly/spandex blend feels great on and these fit great.
I wore these to work and to then to the gym. They functioned great for both situations. The pair offered comfort during the workday and felt great, and enough support while I worked out. I really enjoyed wearing to the gym because they didn’t feel bulky under my gym shorts. I’m looking forward to wearing these around the pool in the summer; they flatter the body with the right cut like a sexy speedo. I think they’ll function well in the water, I mean a semi-private pool anyway. The royal blue color is fun and summery and will definitely draw some attention.

I was excited to try this new line from Cover Male. I had been hearing great things about the fabric and design. If you are like me you can never have too many comfortable pairs of fun underwear. Sometimes a sexy pair of underwear and a comfortable pair of underwear can be a tricky combination.
There is that moment when you first touch the fabric and you know right away if you are gonna love the underwear. I got this design in vibrant neon orange. It’s definitely a pop of color. The microfiber fabric is very stretchy. The 4-way stretch of the fabric is definitely ideal for a thong. It has thin waistband and strap were very comfortable and never needed to be adjusted. The fit was perfect. The pouch design features a contoured pocket that lifts and supports, however, is a very low-rise fit. I personally could have used at least another inch of fabric. There were a couple of moments where I felt like I was falling out of the top of the pouch. The base of the pouch was a little too small causing more pressure than I normally desire. I just think this design needs a few tweaks to really bring it into a real contender as an everyday thong.
I also thought the placement if their tag was strange. If I had left this big white tag in the back you would have been able to see it every time I wore the thong. I removed it but then realized that there are no other brand markings on the underwear. I would also suggest they rethink how they put their company’s name on their product.
I will wear this pair again but I probably won’t be wearing it as an all day item. I might wear it to lounge around my house in. I also thought about wearing it to the pool. The fabric would make a great bathing suit. I hope they keep expanding their lines and come up with more creative products using the great fabrics. They have a great start already and I am sure I will be wearing more and more if their thongs over the next few years.

Cover Male‘s ‘Running Short’ takes the traditional running short and sexes it up with a high slit on the side. This short is really designed well. At first look I thought these would not provide much support in the front but upon trying them, the shorts held everything in place. These are great for working out or just lounging around. The fabric is a poly/spandex blend that is so light, you feel like your not wearing anything.
I’d say the view is better from the back as you’ll feel the fabric grazing your back side and allowing for some tiny spilling out the back. However, the front is very flat and does not accentuate the package much. These function well as a workout short, and would be perfect for practicing yoga in private. I would not recommend wearing these as underwear as the fabric is loose and may give off a strange looking VPL if you’re wearing a fitted pair of jeans or pants.
I tested these out when I had some time to workout at home before heading into the office. I must say they really functioned well as workout shorts. Admittedly, I did not run in these so I’m not sure how much support they’d provide to a runner. The support for squatting and doing lunges was adequate though. It was also fun to stretch in these, as they were not constricting like normal underwear.
