AussieBum has created this new line called, Flame and rightfully named. As you can probably guess from the photo, these trunks celebrate the man who dares to play with fire! If you’re looking to add big and bold color or simply wanting to incorporate diversity into your underwear collection, you might consider this new collection from AussieBum.

The Flame collection is comprised of three separate fabrics that work well together and provide the ideal fit that you have come to expect from a traditional trunk. These sexy undies have the branded waistband and come in four amazing colors embossed in silicon for a provocative yet comfortable fit. With a blend of fabrics which includes 59% polyester, 31% cotton and 10% Elastane, this construction makes for a breathable, soft and well supported pair of sexy underwear.

On initial testing, I wore this pair all day long and didn’t want to take them off at the end of the day. They look expensive and feel so equally. I never once experienced a problem with them The pair stayed in place without being restrictive. Likewise, the pair includes a double layered standard-size pouch which will go a long way towards longevity.

aussieBum New Flaunt Range

aussieBum has a new range, or line as we call it out. It’s called the Flaunt range. The big thing you notice is that it’s got some really great colors. There is no boring white and black here. But that is not all that makes this great, the material will really fit you well. They use a modal spandex blend that conforms to your body. It will fit you like a glove and move with you.

I love a really great waistband. aussieBum has given us some of the coolest ones around. This line doesn’t disappoint. It has a matching color waistband with the aB name tilted. If they show above your jeans/shorts, you will get noticed.

Flaunt is available in a brief and hipster aka trunk. The pairs each have coordinating color on each leg, with the exception of the red. The main color is matched in the waistband.

Review: aussieBum Wonderjock Pro

I have owned a few pairs of Aussiebum’s line of Wonderjock briefs. Needless to say I was excited to try their new line of Wonderjock Pro. The Wonderjock Pro, at first glance, looks just like the older version of the Wonderjock. As soon as you feel the fabric though, the difference is clear. The Pro is much softer and has a “stretchier” feel than its predecessor. The style is traditional Aussiebum with their signature logo waistband and colored piping along the borders of the brief.

The enhancing effect is once again, like the original Wonderjock, accomplished by a sewn in pouch in the front to which you put your entire package. The Pro feels much more comfortable than the original, and allows for more movement so you don’t feel so compressed. Aussiebum is using the term “free swing technology” which I think is a fitting name and a praiseworthy upgrade from the previous design. I was comfortable all day and never once felt like I was wearing anything but traditional stretchy underwear. The enhancing the briefs provide is noticeable but not laughable. The Wonderjock Pro provided with a boost but no one would be the wiser that you are wearing enhancement briefs.

Here’s how I rated the Wonderjock Pro:

Fit – 5/5 – I wear a size 29 waist and the size small fit great. Lots of room up front and the waistband and leg openings were comfortable and true to size.
Comfort – 5/5 – Stretchable high quality cotton and a scratch free tag.
Enhancing factor 4/5 – A natural looking boost, but I feel unless you have something of substance to put in the pouch, not much would happen
Deception Factor 0/5 – No one would know you are wearing enhancing undies through clothes, without clothes, or when they come off.

It’s time for the annual Valentine’s Gift Guide. Unlike last years guide, this is done using pictures from companies rather then being shot specifically for us. Time was not cooperating with us to get it done. We feel you will enjoy this as much as the previous ones. We hope you enjoy the selections we chose. We aim to make sure you and your man look incredible on Valentine’s Day!

We are giving you the choice of both classic and sexy pairs. We know there are guys who prefer the classics and want choices to reflect their taste while others want something sexy that shows off or enhances. We think we have both bases covered. We bring you two super sexy pairs from Andrew Christian. We think the Gigolo Brief (left) and Boxer (right) would be great pairs for Valentine’s Day. The first pair we think would be awesome is the Ribbed Jock Brief (top). The front looks like a brief while the back is designed like a jock. It’s a mix between the two.
The next pair is the Utility Boxer Brief in pink (bottom left). Pink has been an increasing color trend and is great for the occasion. I love the design and use of white material.
Lastly is the Light Brief (bottom right). It’s perfect for the guy who wants something sexy but not too different. We definitely recommend the red!

We don’t want to forget those in the Southern Hemisphere or those taking a nice romantic trip to a location in the tropics. Boy Rio has recently released new underwear and really great swimwear.

If you are going to a tropical location, you should try the PoolBlu “sunga” style Brazilian swimsuit (right). There’s a bit more coverage than a swim brief since it’s based on the swimsuits of Brazil.

A company we had to include is Cocksox. They have been featured on UNB many times in the past and they will continue to be a part of our underwear family. We feel they have two great pairs for Valentine’s Day. Cocksox is a company that believes underwear should be fun and sexy, driving them to create new styles that show off what you have…and then some!

One of the sexiest pairs is the CX01ME, which is the classic brief made of mesh. It has the traditional pouch in a bikini cut. (left)

They are a brand that has been around in Europe for a while, but we here in the states rarely see them except for online. They are very well made and generally smaller cuts than we are used too but they look awesome and fit amazingly.

If you want more of a trunk cut, try the Valentine Hipsters. They have great colors, but for Valentine’s Day, go with the red, as pictured, or pink. (left)
There is no better holiday for thongs! The HOM String Twinpacks will make a statement to your special love. They will know you are in the mood for romance after dinner. (Right)

There is a new company on the scene and it’s called Diego Barberi! They are based out of Switzerland and currently only have a trunk style. We are reviewing two pairs and those will be posted soon. Until then, we want you to check out the pair called Ibex. They are a red trunk with a white embroidered design. They are initially beginning with a small line but we hope to see more from them soon. They may be new but they definitely would be great for this occasion. You can bring a Swiss styling to your undies drawer! Erogenos has some really great pairs for Valentine’s. If you are not familiar with them, they are known for having super sexy and fun underwear. It’s not plain and boring at Erogenos. I would say they are one of the “go to” sites for sexy!

What special day wouldn’t be complete without animal print? Well how about an animal print thong! It’s definitely shows that you are ready to be an animal yourself. The Pikante Jaguar G-String is perfect for bringing out the animal in you. (left)
Another really great, sexy brand is Gregg Homme. We’ve said they are bringing sexy back and doing it well. The pair for them is another thong and is the Commando Thong. It’s small, fun, and made of super stretchy material. (center)
Last is a new brand called Narciso. Narciso is out of Buenos Aries that facilitates form fitting designs and bright colors. This is proof in the Narciso Boxer. The black stripes with red highlights make the pair really fun. (right)

Next on our guide is Frank Dandy. Frank Dandy is known for great designs and great colors. The pairs we chose for this is the Five Star Brief and Trunk. We think these would be the perfect addition to your underwear collection. You can wear them really at anytime, but to us, they seem like a fantastic choice for Valentine’s Day. We wanted to pick a wild print but thought these would be a much better choice. You can get these from the Frank Dandy website.

Geovanny is one of the companies I don’t think many people have seen. I really love his take on underwear design. He has taken a classic design and put a new, innovative spin on it. The pair we chose is the red brief with white trim. They are a more full cut but still just as sexy. The front seam accents the pouch in a new way that I haven’t seen from other designers. Again, we don’t want to forget those in the Southern Hemisphere and those planning a romantic trip southward. Marcuse is a swimwear company out of Australia. Over the last few years, Australia has become one of the major players in the underwear/swimwear market. Marcuse is one of the newest and hottest swimwear companies around today. The pair we chose is the Arrest Me swimsuit in red. This is a very brief design of swimwear. This would be great for a romantic beach getaway! It’s not for the shy, so be ready to show it all off. N2N Bodywear is a necessity in a Valentine’s Day guide. They have always care about the sensuality of men. Every new line they release is about showing off a man’s body. This includes underwear, swimwear, and workout wear. The pair that would be great for the holiday is the N2N Freedom Bikini. It’s got a signature waistband and comes in blue and red. Either pair you purchase would be great to wear out to dinner. You can get this pair from the N2N Bodywear website

Are you ready for some RED? If so, then we have you covered with Olaf Benz. Olaf Benz is a brand that originally hit the fashion scene in Germany and has spread across the globe. When I first saw these, I was WOW’ed! They are so fun! I think I literally said “FUN” when I opened the email.

The first picture features the Squrepant and Carreshirt. Both are form fitting and would make a great combination. Be warned that they are super sexy and body conscious! (left)
Maybe you simply want some fun, red briefs. You should try the Sportbrief. It’s perfect for that active guy in your life. You can wear it more than just to dinner or a day out since it gives you great support. (center)

aussieBum put some well needed Aussie warmth and sunshine in the coldest winter London has experienced in 30 years. Last Thursday afternoon, seven hot aussieBum models warmed up the men’s underwear department of London fashion temple Selfridges on Oxford street as they walked around the department store’s aisles in nothing more than their underwear!

Underwear Advertising around the World

The video above is from an Australian company called teamm8. They have been known for their, lack of a better word, provocative ads. They are sexy but not cheesy. This ad is very cutting edge for underwear ads. This ad got me thinking how amazing it is to see how different countries advertise men’s underwear.

Australia and Europe go a bit more sexy and push the envelope. The prime example of that is AussieBum. They have done awesome work with video. Many of them you have seen here on UNB. They really aren’t afraid of playing on the sex appeal of underwear. Which when you think about it, we all want to feel sexy in undies, whether we are at the office, hanging at home or running errands.

AussieBum pushed the limits with its famous bus shelter ad. It’s a Life saver in the surf with his suit around his neck. Which means he’s naked and you see his bare butt in the ad. It got a lot of talk last year when it came out, and really got them noticed on the world scene.

Let’s now shift to America. I think for the most part we are still very scared of advertising underwear to the general public. For the general public, until just recently, they never showed the underwear on a person. They either held it up or showed it on a manniquine. Even now the underwear ads focus on people rather then the underwear. The only place where this is not true is in marketing to the gay market.

If you look at many of the gay publications, and I”m not talking porn, you will see many ads that show the undies and are pretty awesome! I’m talking about Instinct, Out and other magazines like that. Brands that I have seen have been 2xist, Baskit, and a few more. But still its not something that is marketed to the public.

The one company in the States that is pushing the boundaries is Calvin Klein. They started back in the 80′s with advertising that shows the underwear on models. The model was Tom Hintnaus and it caused quite a stir when it was released. This was the first time men’s underwear ads were sexy This ad even made entertainment and news shows. Its funny to think now that an underwear ad would cause such a stir, which by today’s standards is pretty tame. Then they went on and got celebrities and turned a host of unknown models into starts. Some of their models included Marky Mark Wahlberg, Antonio Sabato Jr., and more.

Even today CK is doing some of most edgy main stream advertising in the US. They have done billboards in Times Square in NYC. The picture is one I took back in 2006 in NYC, and being from Atlanta, we would never see pictures such as that here. Outside of LA, Chicago and NYC the rest of the country remains pretty puritanical. If you look at the current videos for the CK X line, they are still pushing the boundaries for underwear in the US. They have done an online video campaign that was really well done.

Underwear advertising in the States still has a long way to come from the rest of the world. I think we are moving in the right direction, but still have a way to go. I have a few questions for you guys, and feel free to answer here or on the facebook page:

Who is doing the best underwear advertising worldwide?
Who is pushing the boundaries of advertising?
Has anyone gone too far?
Who do you think could do a better job of advertising?

aussieBum Swim Briefs… The New Rage?

aussieBum says swim briefs are the hottest trend on the Beach this summer! We tend to agree. We wrote a while back that the Swim Brief was making a come back. They even wrote it up in the UK. I very much doubt we will see too much of it here in the states, but we can hope! We can be a bit Victorian at times in our view of underwear and swimwear. This holds especially true for men!

The Styles that are hot (and we can’t deny that they are HOT) are the Squad Boosterjock, League Brief, Inspire Wonderjock, Boosterjock Lose 1.5′ and the Classsic Wonderjock

Squad Boosterjock: If you want a bit of a bigger cut then this pair if for you. It’s made out of shiny metalic fabric and has the boosterjock front! Its not as small as the others but still a great suit

League Brief: This is a classic design. It’s a traditional swim brief that is very iconic of summer. Its perfect for swimming or tanning.(see picture above)

Inspire Wonderjock: These are similar to the Boosterjock in that they are a bigger cut. They also have the Wonderjock front so it shows off your package very well. I love the plaid patterns these come in. I haven’t seen the plaid in a very long time

BoosterJock Loose 1.5: Now this is what I think of when i see aussieBum. It’s the pure nylon swimwear that you immediately think Australia. This has the Boosterjock techology in it so you can bet that it will show everything off and it’s cut smaller then a traditional swim brief!

Classic Wonderjock: This is the classic of the range, as it’s so appropriately named! The pairs I used to see Aussie Life Guards wearing. I know we have all seen the pictures. This pair also shows off “your natural assets” as the website says.

Any of these would be awesome for summer! With it being half over up here, better get them fast, that is unless you plan a trip to Australia soon!

AussieBum’s Airport Adventure

Passing through Sydney airport? Want to purchase some AussieBums? Well now you can! Australia Adventure is AussieBum’s first sanctioned Australian retail outlet and stocks a wide range of their products. The first branch opened in the departure hall of the international terminal and another one is due to open in the public area of the airport.

A word of warning though, the prices charged in store are significantly more expensive than if you purchase directly through the AussieBum website. However, if you are likely to get charged customs fees on your order, then the price difference may not be all that great. Price issues aside, it’s really great to see the AussieBum range in a shop, be able to browse the range and look at the products close up.

aussieBum is at it again. They have released a new range called LockerBoy. They have been cranking out any new designs lately. They have to be one of the busiest underwear companies out there!

This range will brighten up your locker, it is fun, colorful and sexy – a pair for all things active and edgy – showing off, taking out and training-in.
Working out has never looked so good, and neither will you when you put on one of the ‘LockerBoy’ range.The model in these photos is Matt Wilson, and photographer was Sean Ashby – aussieBum founder and CEO (he takes almost all the photos for the brand).

We occasionally cover it and are going to plan on branching out to more lounge and work out wear. aussieBum is a company that really enjoys creating new products. They have a great track record for creating really awesome undies. I can’t recall any that haven’t been a hit. Now they have some really cool lounge wear.

New Flex Support Range from aussieBum

aussieBum just keeps coming out with new underwear like mad! They have released a lot of pairs just in the last few weeks. Its been hard to keep up with sometimes, but they make some really amazing underwear. The readers we have talked too that have tried the new aussieBum tend to agree. Its truly amazing to me that they keep producing the quality and quantity of underwear and seem to hit the mark every time. There haven’t been any pairs that I have heard wide spread complaints about.

This Flex Support range is made from Egyptian Cotton, the same kind the BodiForm are made from I gather. They have a distinctive waistband, I don’t know where aussieBum gets them but they do some of the best waistband work in underwear today. Lastly, they are designed to fit any body style while making you feel aweasome.

The range comes in briefs and trunks. They are available in White, Indigo and Ice. You can get them directly from the aussieBum site!

aussieBum has limited Edition Ranges

aussieBum has shown its’ not afraid of color and they prove it with some of the limited edition pairs they have just released.

The first one is a pair is the “Made in the USA” Wonder Jock range. They had a suggestions from fans in the Fan page and made enough just for the requests. Which prooves to be involved in the Facebook pages of companies and you can get some good things in return. We are not sure if they will make more of these but maybe they will!

The second is Wonder Jock 2.5 swimwear. They have three new colors out today! They are Matisse Blue, Orange and Pink! This is one of the few times I have seen Pink swimwear but I think it’s pretty hot. I don’t know too many other companies that would actually do pink. These are from the classic line. New Brands and Lines to check out

The one thing I wanted when I started this site is to bring you the newest in men’s underwear. This starts to day with the Brands and Styles to check out posts. They will quickly profile brands, and lines that have just come out! We hope to go into more detail about them in the future. But we will have links to the lines and you can check them out. If you see a brand or line you think we should cover email us and let us know, or post a link on our wall in Facebook!

CK X – The newest collection that has a new bold, ultra lightweight waistband. Graphic logo with a center patch, inspired by the fighting shorts of a boxer. The cotton pairs are body-defining fit with luxurious knit blends the comfort of cotton with the soft texture of modal. The added stretch enhances comfort and keeps it shape better. Micro material gives a body defining fit; the microfiber is lightweight and breathable. The styles available in this line in the cotton style are: hip brief, cotton trunk, cotton boxer brief, and cotton short sleeve crew. Those in the Micro style are: cotton pant, hip brief, low-rise trunk and boxer brief. Colors for the lines are Black, Blue and White for cotton. Micro colors are White, Red and Black.

2xist Surf – This is the newest line from 2(x)ist. The line reflects the bright beach colors (pink/yellow) as well as bold colors (blue/purple) It is made out of a cotton and spandex blend, which makes it very comfy and forms to your body. The line is very eye catching and a fun one. This is something we haven’t seen from 2(x)ist before, they have done some colors but this is a great line. The collection is available in a sports brief, no show brief, and no show trunk.

aussieBum Comfy Fit – aussieBum are always coming out with new lines or ranges as they call them. The last few weeks have seen a lot of them and sometimes hard to keep up with them. The Comfy Fit range is one that mixes comfort and color in one. The range has an 80% cotton/10% spandex mix that will make it super comfy. We have received a pair to review, so that will be out shortly. The color selections are to reflect the natural colors of the spectrum. You will be as fashionable as you are comfy.

UnderGear Physical Line – UnderGear has been one of the premier underwear sellers since I can remember. They have always been around and now they are producing their own line of undies. The Physical line is a retro inspired styled line. It has a contrast trim around it, reminding you of the old gym shorts from back in the day. The line is made out of a cotton/spandex jersey that makes it very comfy. The line has a bikini, brief, trunk and tank. The colors right now are red and turquoise

Expose – This is one of the lines from Beyond Big Branding. The belief of the company is grounded in being athletic and bold. The brand is out of Columbia and we are seeing it being sold on many sites in the last few weeks. They have a saying “Put it on, take it off and be playful with all the trouble which may come from what you expose.” They have briefs, boxer briefs, jockstrap and low-rise styles. They do some great work with colors and patterns. They aren’t for the shy. I expect to see a lot more of this company with it being part of Beyond Big Branding.

Bon Bon Bodywear – Lastly today we have a brand new company called Bon Bon Bodywear. This first came to my attention from Top Drawers. They are made out of a stretch modal fabric. The line consists of a low-rise brief and square cut trunk style. Currently they have the Black & White, Colours and Upgrade Gold collections. The colors in the Colours collection are very bright almost neon. I have a feeling this line is not for the meek. It’s for the guy who knows fashion and is not afraid to make bold choices!
