The International Mr. Leather Competition and Convention takes place every year in Chicago and involves 8000 men and women dressed in leather, rubber, or whatever other fetish gear you can imagine (David and I spent one evening in saran wrap and duct tape).  One recurring theme that I noticed throughout the weekend this year was the inundation of IML with singlets including the N2N PX singlet!

I wore my N2N PX singlet around the fetish market on our second day at IML. Just while wearing it (approximately and hour or two), I saw 2 others wearing the exact same singlet (blue/white) and one guy wearing the same singlet in the yellow/black color combination.

In this very sexy slinky singlet (say that five times fast), the solid fabric is made of 79% recycled polyester and 21% spandex, while the mesh fabric is 96% micro polyester and 4% spandex.  While I love most of the design of the singlet (it is seriously sexy), I did have an issue with the back strap. On myself and the others that I saw wearing the singlet (and I saw a variety of body types), there is always a space between the lower back and the back strap that detracts from the look of the singlet.

My biggest issue with this singlet however is that (other than at an event like IML) I’m not sure how much use someone can get from the singlet. While it is definitely sexy, it’s not exactly something that can be worn underneath clothing for an extended period of time, and it’s definitely not gym wear with the exposure of the low cut.

PROS

  • Sexy
  • Different
  • Very popular already

CONS

  • Space between back and back strap
  • When can it be worn?

Do you like underwear that is fun and not something for every day? Then you need to check out the new McKillop Limited Edition Jocks. They are made out of vinyl and and Denim.

“Our Limited Edition Vinyl leather, Jocks & Pouches are a collection of provocative underwear made from vinyl mixed with mesh, which is a perfect addition to your leather collection. Because of the structure of the fabric is creates a massive bulge compared to our other products. Our vinyl is a fun collection of unique one of a kind pieces to complement your underwear collection.”

There are 14 different styles. They are both jocks and pouches. McKillop has been very busy making some really fun and nice undies. Prices for the jocks and pouches are $30-31. These are only available for a limited time and only for summer so don’t miss them!

Timoteo, the Los Angeles based men’s athletic-wear brand catering to stylish men seeking the ultimate in comfort and design, unleashes its next generation fitness brief this summer, Timoteo SPORT 2.0.  Made from a cotton/spandex blend, the collection features the season’s steamiest colors in contrasting designs (white against orange & blue trim, royal blue against varsity green trim, black against red and black against striker blue trim) in four bold styles: the SUPER LOW, the SCOUT BOXER BRIEF, the best selling ATHLETE JOCK and the SOCCER JOCK. All styles feature Timoteo’s contemporary custom-designed waistband.  Timoteo SPORT 2.0 is available now at specialty stores, online retailers and at Timoteo.net

“SPORT 2.0 is the new-and-improved version of one of our best-selling collections ever,” said Timoteo Ocampo, Creative Director and Co-Owner of Timoteo.  “Similar to the original line, briefs are specially geared towards the athletic guy who spends a great deal of his day working out in the gym. He drinks protein shakes, wears weight lifting gloves and belts.  The SPORT 2.0 collection is one more tool to help him reach his full fitness potential… and look damn good while doing it.”

Before launching his own label, Ocampo worked as a designer; first for XOXO and later at Baby Phat, where he helped launch the brand with Russell Simmons and Kimora Lee. He names Yves Saint Laurent as one of his greatest influences.
“Our customers are constantly offering their feedback and what we hear most is they are bored of off-the-shelf underwear with no style,” continues Ocampo.    “They want underwear that has a personality, is sporty, and available in a wide assortment of fresh, fun colors.”

The demand for SPORT 2.0 is so great, the line has already begun shipping to retailers in the UK, Russia, Mexico, New Zealand, Australia, Japan as well as the USA and Canada.

“As the economy gets stronger and there is more consumer spending towards personal items, we are seeing a demand for a more diverse underwear drawer in men’s closets,” agrees Joel Johnston, CEO and Co-Owner of Timoteo, who predicts SPORT 2.0 will be merely the beginning of the label’s sports offerings.   “Men have more money to spend and they are spending it on quality designs.”

In addition to SPORT 2.0, Timoteo is unveiling a second underwear line for summer 2012 called Classic Luxury Mesh, set to release June 1st.

“As an underwear designer it is my job to keep the designs fresh and unique and ahead of the curve,” Ocampo says.

Timoteo launched ten years ago as a small storefront in West Hollywood, CA that manufactured select fashion pieces for men.  It has since evolved into a fun and hip brand that produces a full line of product across multiple categories including, underwear, swim wear, denim and sportswear.

RIDE IS HERE – AND JOCKSTRAP CENTRAL’S GOT YOU COVERED… FOR LESS!

Pride season is here and to celebrate, for the next 3 months Jockstrap Central‘s Activeman 3 Inch and Swimmer Style Pride Jocks are now only $9.95 (regularly, $14.95.)

These are Activeman’s traditional athletic supporters except the woven pouch contains vertical rainbow stripes with either black or white waistbands and leg straps.

Just remember, if you’re going to be walking (or dancing) around all day in your Pride jock, remember one thing: Don’t forget the sunscreen!”

The pair I am reviewing is the N2N Bodywear Air Trunk. This is part of the new N2N collection that they just released. The pair is made out of60% polyester / 32% rayon / 8% spandex. Which make it very breathable and a great pair for summer.

The first look at this pair, I noticed like the previous pair I reviewed for the Luxe line, was there was no elastic in the legs. Since I had experience with the Luxe, I hoped that it would be a similar fit and it basically was, with out anything falling out.

The fabric was some of the best. Here in the south we are getting supper hot and there’s nothing worse then having underwear that makes you hotter. This pair really breathed and kept me super comfy through out the day. The sizing was very good and I have never had any issues with sizing with any pair I have received from N2N.

The new waistband they created for the Air line is super sexy to me. I love the thin band with the N2N branding. This is carried over in all styles in the Air line.

My only complaint is that I wished it had a little more support in the pouch. It does have a nice pouch and things don’t fall out or move around too much. However this is a minor complaint. I will definitely wear these again and put them in my underwear drawer!

Pros:

  • Very breathable
  • Great thin waistband

Con:

  • Like a more supportive pouch

N2N Bodywear never fails to impress me with styling, look, and color combination when it comes to their varying underwear forms and fashion.  The Quantum Brief from n2n Bodywear in Spicy Orange was a nice brief to try.  The fabric consists of 90% Cotton and 10% Spandex to provide a soft feel with the perfect amount of stretch and give.  Most companies are beginning to use fabric blends instead of the standard 100% cotton we are all used to and I like it.  Size large was an okay fit, but not necessarily true to size with a comfortable one and a half inch dark grey, white, and orange striped waistband with the N2N logo placed several times on the waistband.

Upon first inspection, I found the brief to be more of a mini brief rather than an actual brief, the quality was good, the spicy orange (think a dark orange) color with grey, orange, and white striped waistband was a nice contrast, grey outlined leg openings, and the crotch fabric was slim for easy movement and no bunching.  There is a very slight pouch (if you really want to call it that) near the bottom of the front of the brief.  This brief is more of a flat stretchy piece of fabric rather than an actual pouch brief.  After putting this pair on and viewing myself in the mirror, size large was a bit smallish, but not tragically so.  The rear fit well and the brief moved with my body movements and conformed to the body in a nice way.  Overall, I enjoyed this brief with the fit and color combination.

I wore this N2N Bodywear Quantum Brief from beginning of the day until around 6:30 that evening.  I began the day with an hour and a half drive to a local tourist town, spent the day shopping and such in the heat, ate lunch, and drove back home before peeling this brief off.  The brief was comfortable and supportive throughout the day and I had no issue with riding up or bunching of fabric.

Overall, this was an enjoyable pair of underwear and loved the color combination of dark orange and grey.  I liked the feel of the fabric and the look of the brief.  The price is reasonable for this type of specialty underwear.  In general, I have a couple of complaints about this brief.  First, sizing for N2N undies seems to be slightly off, but not dramatically so.  Second, these undies come with washing it by hand (or wash with like colors) instructions which could be an issue with some guys, but I have no problem performing this simple routine of washing.  I would HIGHLY recommend washing the brief by hand, or on cold and delicate cycle if you use a machine then hanging/laying it flat to dry.

A couple months ago, I was alerted of this small new website called CheapUndies.com by none other than the Underwear News Briefs blog. I was instantly intrigued, because well…cheap and undies for me sadly don’t always get to go together. I am a fan of nice underwear, but as a young budding circus artist, I am usually found perusing the sale racks only, finding an awful lot of certain brands, and unable to afford the loftier brands.

Enter Cheapundies.com, this company is grounded in the “woot.com” One Deal One Day mold that brings you ONE item per day at a really discounted price. What I saw when I first clicked is a man’s body and a woman’s body, each modeling the certain pair of undies on sale that day. The pair of underwear I saw that day was probably 60-75% off its original price, coming in at roughly $5. I was in shock, and started to check out the other costs involved (where’s the catch). After snooping around, I discovered the only other fee is the one for shipping, which is a very reasonable $5 for regular post to my location. I wasn’t ready to chip in $5 shipping for a $5 dollar pair of undies just yet. I know it’s only $10, but paying the same amount in shipping as the product just felt odd to me.

For a moment let’s go back to how the site works. CheapUndies spends most of their time (when not shipping undies off to happy customers) sourcing underwear companies that are willing to sell a huge amount of one pair of undies to them for a very low price. This low price for CheapUndies allows them to extend the deal to you, and by spreading out the deals among many underwear brands, no single brand is getting short-changed. So basically, each day CheapUndies gets a huge haul of one pair of undies for incredibly cheap. This is where the magic kicks in.

What happens if not ALL of the pairs of undies are gone by the end of the 24 hours? Well, those undies go into the part of the website called Last Chance Deals. These are not on the One Day time restriction anymore, they are the excess, still priced at their extremely discounted rate. And that, my friends, is where my magic moment happened.

Last week, I fell in love with the pair that was being advertized for the day, but I wanted to maximize the undies to shipping ratio, so I went into the Last Chance Deals, and looked around for other pairs to supplement my main pair, to mollify my worries about the shipping. I ended up getting 3 pairs of undies + shipping to the tune of $20.00. For your information, I got one brief, a thong, and a boxster, and all are incredibly wonderful to wear. I placed my order at around 11pm on May 17th, and they arrived May 21st. So, for $20, I got 3 pairs of quality, well fitted and designed undies, plus shipping that arrived in about 3 days, from CheapUndies.com… I rest my case.

The Air Bikini is a winner in my book!  Known for creating underwear that looks great and feels exceptionally good, N2N has done it again!  The fabric is 60% polyester, 30% rayon and 8% spandex, giving it that famous N2N  “almost nothing” feel.   I received it in black; it is also available in white, grey, and cream.  As soon as I took it out of the package I knew I was going to love this underwear.

I started my day working in the office, wearing them under a pair of long shorts.  To say that they felt great is an understatement.  I love the way they hugged the goods in front like a second skin.  This bikini does a great job of keep everything just where you want it.   And don’t let the term ‘bikini’ fool you.

The seat is full and felt great; I didn’t have to adjust it at all.  A medium fit my 31” waist perfectly.  And I must admit, there is a certain sexy feeling I got wearing underwear that so many other would consider too skimpy.   I showed them to a couple of good friends; the defining comment was “Wow, who knew a men’s bikini could be that hot!”.  The shorts I had on sat low on my hips and several times I realized that the band of the waist was showing, with a little skin showing below them and it didn’t bother me at all.

I can honestly say that I have nothing negative to say about this pair.  They look and feel great, and I can’t wait to get the other colors!

Pros

  • Fits like a glove
  • available in 4 colors
  • full seat

Cons

  • none

N2N Bodywear has nice underwear.  I am never disappointed by their styling, look, and color combinations.  They seem to really have figured out what guys like in underwear and how underwear should fit and function.  The N2NBodywear Signature Boxer in white with black trim and yellow lettering was nice to try due to many of the reasons that I mentioned earlier.  The fabric consists of 90% Cotton and 10% Spandex for a soft feel with perfect stretch and conforming abilities to provide adequate support and lines.  Size Large was a nice fit and was true to size with a comfortable one and a half inch black waistband and N2NBodywear listed around the waistband in yellow and white lettering to provide a nice contrast against the black band.  The body of the brief was white with black contrasting detailing around the leg openings and next to the pouch.

Upon first inspection, the signature boxer is more of a squarecut low rise brief (think of a shorter version of a squarecut brief), the quality was good, the white with black trim and yellow lettering was a excellent touch. The rear consisted of three separate panels to provide support and definition of the rear and the pouch size was adequate (stretchy and accommodating for the larger package).  After putting this pair on, I found the pouch to be defining and I loved the two black strips of fabric on each side of the pouch to enhance the pouch and draw attention to the goody basket.  One of the strips of fabric actually creates the pouch and nestles behind the package to provide lift and places the goods out front.  I like this addition.  The fabric was conforming and felt like a second skin against my body as it moved fluidly with my body movements.  The rear was excellent!  The way the rear is paneled together in three pieces allows for definition and provided a nice look.

I wore this N2NBodywear Signature Boxer from beginning of the day until around 10:30 that night.  I began the day with my two hour drive to a contract position, providing assessments from 9:00am-1:00pm, driving to do a bit of shopping and trying on clothes, and driving another hour back home.  After all of this, the boxer remained comfortable and supportive.  I had no problem with riding up or bunching of fabric as this boxer really felt like I was not wearing anything at all and acted like a second skin.   The pouch was supportive and comfortable.

Overall, this was a great pair of underwear and served the purpose well.  I liked the look of the rear panels, the feel of the fabric, the overall look of the brief, the conforming nature of the fabric, and the contrasting of black and white coloring.  The price is reasonable for this type of specialty underwear due to styling, coloring, and fit.  In general, I have no major complaints about this boxer other than the washing it by hand instructions (or with like colors, it states on the tag) which could be an issue with some guys, but I have no problem performing this simple routine of washing.  One could simply wash the undies in cold water and hang/lay flat to dry with no problems.
