Today’s Brief Distraction is from Vizeau. If you aren’t familiar with Vizeau, they are a company that is known for wilder underwear. That means interesting cut outs, super low cut designs and mesh. Pictured above is a special collection, featuring elastic and trims covered in durable matte tricot. The fit is superb and the colors make it a very playful addition to any confident man’s wardrobe.

When I first received this jockstrap, the words that entered my mind were, ‘you can’t be serious’.  However, being the open-minded person that I self-proclaim, I was open to trying the innovated design and construction that sets this manufacturer apart from their counterparts.  Based on the quality of materials and yet unconventional style, I was eager to put this jockstrap to test.

This particular line designed by Pikante called ‘80’s Mosaic’ a jockstrap with wide elastic and the waist embroidered with the brand in a contrasting black color.  It’s made of soft cotton printed with tiles in earth and blue tones that give a modern twist.  This jock provides excellent support while being comfortable at the same item.  This pair is comprised of 93% cotton and 7% Spandex materials.

I pushed the envelope a bit and gave this jock a real workout at the gym recently.  It provided adequate support as a good jock should and still felt comfortable and unobtrusive in supporting the goods.  I was totally pleased with the visual appeal and fit of this jock which says a lot for a guy who prefers the traditional trunk for everyday underwear.

In summary, with warmer weather just days ahead for most of us, if you’re looking for a new jock to add to your spring collection, you might strongly consider this manufacturer.  However, if you’re simply looking to add some sex appeal to your underwear collection, Pikante also provides a variety of additional jockstraps, thongs and several see through pieces, which is reflective of their tag line as ‘Spicy Underwear’.

We wrap our week long preview of PPU, Pikante, Clever, Royocco and Candyman. Today’s pair is Lumiere mesh Brief from Pikante. Brief with wide elastic at the waist with embroidered brand in contrasting color, has a modern design of open cuts on the sides, the front is made of a soft material with a glossy finish, the rest of the garment is made in a fine mesh which gives a sensual touch. Composition: 76% Nylon, 19% Polyester, 5% Spandex.

I was lucky enough to get this brief from Petit-Q.  All the reviewers were given the chance to review Petit Q’s new line and was asked which pair they wanted. At first I was afraid it wasn’t going to fit me since I wear a small and was sent a medium. I am glad I was sent a medium because it fit much better than I suspect a small would.

The design itself is very unique with the cut away eliminating fabric from most of the left side of the garment. When I first put it on I was afraid that since the whole left side consisted of two strings that the brief was going to pull to the right and cause discomfort. I could not have been more wrong. The design stayed in place throughout the entire day and night I wore it. The only thing I found adjusting was the crotch fabric. It has a tendency to slip a little lower than I would have preferred. I was not in danger of falling out of the brief. For me personally, I prefer a crotch that is sewn with a bigger “C” to give more room. The room in the crotch does not crush or push flat but it could use a tiny tweak in the construction to offer more room.

I have to say that even though this is not a thong, which is my personal favorite style, this bikini is one of my new favorite pairs of underwear in my collection. If you are an underwear fan that is looking for fun pieces to augment your collection than I would definitely suggest you add this to your drawer.

Today’s Brief Distraction is from Vuthy. If you aren’t familiar with them they are a really fun swimwear company. The pair we are previewing is the Brief Swimsuit in Two colors (Vuthy 292). Brief Swimsuit with low waist, with elastic band at the waist with internal drawcord for a perfect fit, has ergonomic cup, is made of a soft material with very sporty cuts in two colors, ideal for any kind of water sports. Composition: 80% Nylon, 20% Spandex.

Petit-Q is a brand that UNB has done a couple of write-ups on over the last year. They recently developed their own line of skimpy and sexy underwear. I was sent the invisible boxer in a size medium to review.

I first have to say that if I walked into a store or was shopping online, I don’t think I would have picked these out for myself. I am all about skimpy undies and I even love me a good thong, but for some reason the look of these undies and myself did not hit it off.  These undies are very low cut undie and are meant to feel and looks like you are wearing nothing. There isn’t too much to these undies either.  The material is a nude color mesh with a thin elastic waistband. They are designed to sit a good 3 to 4 inches below your waist.  They do feature a nice front pouch that enhances the size and shape of your package. There isn’t a lot of material coving the back either. I would say the cut is more like a bikini cut than anything else that I have seen.

One thing that I do like about the Petit-Q invisible boxer is that it does exactly what you would by these for. They have a very sexy, and unique cut. I don’t think this is something that I could wear to work or the gym, nor do I think I would want to, but they are perfect for adding a little extra spice to the bedroom. These would be a great Valentine’s Day gift for any man in life.

PRO’s:

  1. Achievement – They achieve exactly what you would buy these undies for.
  2. Front Pouch – The front pouch is roomy and very comfy. Probably one of the more comfortable pouches I have tried in a while.

CON’s

  1. Color – I would have loved to seen these in black or red.  I think a little color would have attracted me a little more to these.
  2. Very low cut – This is just a personal preference of mine. I like mine undies to sit just below the waist, not around my hips and pelvis.

Today’s Brief Distraction is from Candyman. This is the Animal print singlet. It’s available in three different colors, white, green, and pink. It is also number 9628 in the Candyman collection. Singlet boxer brief, one-piece suspender that conforms to the body for an ultra-sleek fit and feel, this garment is made in a soft animal print fabric, contoured pouch and bold contrast borders. Composition: Nylon 84%, Spandex 16%.

Today’s Brief Distraction is from Clever. This is the Cotton Mesh Boxer (2080) in Black! Boxer with anatomical cuts, the front has a center design that helps to enhance this part is made in a comfortable black cotton which is also in the crotch and lower back, the sides of the garment and the upper back are made in a breathable mesh that allows as well easy movements of the body on the edge has a thin yellow trim, black elastic waistband with embroidered trademark yellow and yellow horizontal line. Color : Black Composition: Cotton 55% Nylon 31% Spandex 14% .

Maclovia is one of those brands that I had never heard of before, but it is one that is going to stick in my mind. From the moment that I saw the look of these undies to the moment that I tried them one, I LOVED THEM.

UNB sent me the Maclovia Platinum Teal PT339 trunk in a size small to review. One of the first things that I noticed was the bold choice in color. These trunks are white with blocks of navy and heather grey color. They are very bold but don’t overwhelm. The trunk featured a closed fly with a very roomy front pouch. The waistband is a 1.5 inch silver metallic material with the Maclovia logo. The fabric is amazing. It is soft and provides enough stretch for great movement and all-day wear.

These are a trunk style cut, so they are going to be a little shorter in the inseam. They sit just below the waist, which is exactly where I like it. The fit is pretty true. I usually wear a medium (32 waist), but these smalls fit. They were a little tight, but not enough for me to send them back. I did notice they did shrink a little after the first time I washed them.

PRO’s:

  1. The Look – If you are looking for a bold but not to flashy pair of undies, these and the other Maclovia styles are for you.
  2. The Fabric – The fabric is soft yet sturdy and provides enough stretch for all-day, everyday wear.

CON’s

  1. The Waistband – The waistband is pretty standard, but I noticed that it is pretty stiff and doesn’t offer a lot of give. If you get a pair that doesn’t fit right, that could be uncomfortable.

You can pick a pair of these up through Maclovia’s website for around $18.75, and while you are their I would check out some of their other styles as well.  Lots of great looking undies; and if you don’t see anything you like, keep checking back as according to their website they are providing new styles quarterly.
