Skiviez has the newest line of 2(x)ist, the Neon Collection.

Quicker than a ray of light, 2(X)ist zips into Spring 2011 with the all new NEON collection. Brilliant in both color and design, NEON reflects today’s digital age- fast, smart, and assured.

Constructed in soft-fle(x) cotton (90% cotton/ 10% spandex), NEON bursts onto the scene in vibrant colors like hibiscus, white, black, and Mediterranean blue in a variety of low-rise silhouettes. Each silhouette is further accented with neon piping elastics that add a bright flash for a streamlined, comfortable, and stretchy leg opening. Additionally, the new deep-v shirt shines as a bold, slim fitting option boasting a plunging neckline and neon-trimmed armholes. Go towards the light with 2(x)ist NEON.

If you like bright colors and low rise fits then check out the entire line at Skiviez!

I have to admit that Cocksox has been one of my favorite underwear companies for quite some time.  I love the way they fit and they have an amazing pouch.  I was recently sent a pair of the sports briefs to review.  These are some of the more “conservative” pairs they have to offer.  Most of their offerings are bikini or other cuts. That being said, I’m always excited to try some of the new pairs they produce.

I liked the more traditional styling of the pair.  You could easily wear these to the gym or around town without drawing too much attention.  The pouch wasn’t as pronounced as the others which would have been a good thing when I was on a job interview a few months back.  The CX01 creates a rather pronounced pouch.  It was quite noticeable.  These still provide a good pouch but didn’t push things out to that extent.  You could definitely wear them to work or other events.

I wore these under jeans for a day of errands, hanging out with friends, and relaxing on a low-key day.  I loved the look, as I said, and the fit.  Cocksox genuinely knows how to make underwear for men.  There was, however, one minor problem…the tag. We have all had undies with a tag that drove us crazy during the day.  This one was only mildly annoying as it irritated every so often.  Although a minor issue to me, I figured this was a production issue.  Other than that, it was a pretty awesome pair.

If you have wanted to try Cocksox and wanted a more “conservative” pair to start with, these are for you.  This would be great.  Cocksox furnished these for review.

We love ot see underwear companies profiled in main stream media. Here is what Equmen sent us:

The Steelers may have lost on Super Bowl Sunday, however Equmen scored with former Pittsburgh football icon Terry Bradshaw in his Today in America feature profile of Equmen.

When you can get the attention of football-great Terry Bradshaw, you know you’ve got something special going on!

Equmen, the pioneer in making men’s slimming/compression garments a mainstream product across the globe, was featured on Terry Bradshaw’s Today in America Show on CNN, this past Saturday February 5th.

You can find Equmen at their website.

We are restarting Underwear of the Month here at UNB.  In the past, we entertained the thought of having an Underwear of the Week, but coming up with 52 pairs a year is difficult to say the least.  For certain weeks, there were not many new pairs to feature.  Changing to monthly made it much easier to manage.

The first pair we selected is the 2(x)ist  All Star Brief.  If you aren’t familiar with these, they feature the waist band that is similar to a sock.  This is a feature I found very cool.  It’s something new that hasn’t been attempted often.  If you are a long-time reader of the blog, you know that I love the waistbands.  Brands that pay close attention to the waistband and try new things always get my attention.

The waistband is sort of ribbed like a sock top.  Here is the description from the 2(x)ist site:

“A classic athletic-inspired collection, All Star combines technical functionality and sporty fashion. The collection is made up of a breathable 55% cotton / 37% modal / 8% spandex fabrication constructed in a pique knit, with super sporty bindings and waistband. The trims are inspired by retro basketball sock designs; with varsity colored stripes in red, white, and blue as well as emerald, white, and gold.”

I do like sporty underwear.  I love the way they fit and keep everything in place.  I know there are many out there who don’t like feeling “constricted” but I like the extra support.  I really love the stripes and design of these.  I’m a firm believer that your underwear should reflect your personality.  Why dress great but wear plain and boring undies.  You have nothing to worry as these are nowhere close to boring.

2(x)ist is always known for great underwear.  These are no exception as they really did fit very well.  I will admit that I didn’t check to see if they were no show under clothes.  The fabric was very breathable and form fitting.  To me, it is important that you be able to wear sports-inspired briefs during any strenuous activity.  It is a pair I would recommend for an active guy.  The pair gives you support and fits wonderfully.

Men’s Underwear Store furnished this pair for review.  You can purchase them directly from Men’s Underwear Store.

To be a winner, it takes hard work, rigorous training, a lot of practice, proper diet, and an extraordinary pair of underwear. For instance, some athletes will go to great lengths to avoid any change that could result in disrupting a winning streak. Some even go as far as refusing to change their underwear, wearing the same pair over and over again unwashed! Others have different yet just as compelling superstitions about their underwear. Adrian Mutu, a footballer for the Italia Serie A club Fiorentina, wards off bad luck by wearing his underwear inside out. Jason Giambi, of the Colorado Rockies, wears his lucky thong when he’s trying to break out of a slump. Giambi’s team mates have even reportedly asked to borrow the blessed thong believing that it really has brought about a positive change. Maybe this is a theme in baseball,. Audrey Huff of the San Francisco Giants wears his “rally thong” , a red rhinestone studded thong, for luck. This has inspired the underwear brand Papi of Miami to send the Giants three dress size boxes full of thong underwear of every color of the rainbow completely unsolicited! Casey Pucket, an Olympic cross country skier, said “if I have a good race, whatever socks I am wearing, whatever turtle neck I am wearing, that tends to be the go to. It generally is the undergarments”.

It’s only fitting that underwear serve such a special place in an athlete’s ensemble and heart. As the innermost layer of clothing, underwear is the foundation of our wardrobe. An athlete’s uniform serves a function of more than just looks. It’s practical, supportive and protective giving the athlete an edge in their performance. So naturally, the foundation of this important package is no mere collage of fabric. Underwear goes beyond its intended useful nature to that of a confidence booster. When you know you’re sporting an amazing pair of underwear it shines through in your actions and personality. That can be an amazing game changing boost for an athlete!

A study in the journal Physiological Science made some interesting conclusions after a series of experiments. Their conclusion was this: “activating a good-luck superstition, leads to improved performance by boosting people’s belief in their ability to master a task.” More precisely, they added, “the present findings suggest that it may have been the well-balanced combination of existing talent, hard training and good luck-underwear that made Michael Jordan perform as well as he did.” So men don’t take your underwear selection lightly. They can make you a legend!

INTYMEN’S GOT THAT SWING (ENHANCED JOCK THAT IS)

The first thing you notice when someone wears the Intymen Swing Enhanced jockstrap is their bulge but upon closer inspection you’ll find a totally unique lifting system that not only does the trick but does it in a very natural and comfortable way. Although there’s a lot of effective bulge enhancing designs, most sacrifice comfort to accomplish it – not Intymen!

The pouch is actually two pieces of soft cotton (with a hint of spandex.) The first innermost panel is a traditional contoured jockstrap pouch with just the right about of stretch but a second outer panel of cotton runs a quarter of the way up from the base with a reinforced “swinging” elastic edge that sits right under your balls (think kangaroo pouch) providing the lift. You can’t really see this ingenious feature when wearing the jock, but it works like a charm.

As for the rest of the jock, it comes with a comfort 1 ½ inch elastic waistband and 1 inch leg straps. We’ve got these jockstraps in black, white and red all with contrasting grey waistbands.

The City Commissioner of Fort Pierce Florida, near Port St. Lucie, wants to pass a city ordinance banning the wearing of pants too low and thus exposing your underwear or “sagging”. The city of Rivera Beach Florida, near West Palm Beach, created a similar law however it was challenged in a state court and failed. The law was considered too broad and the penalties too severe. Both cities are working on new laws that are more constitutional and with consequences such as community service and small fines rather than jail time. Two other cities in Florida have laws banning sagging although they limit the restriction to city-owned property. These cities have declared that the exposure of underwear is offensive and indecent.

Florida is not the only place where the exposure of underwear has become a legal issue. Delcambre, Louisiana, near Baton Rouge, enforces penalties of $500 to 6 months in jail for sagging. Crack downs are also being considered in Trenton New Jersey and Atlanta, Georgia. This trend is growing and has popped up in other towns and cities as well.

I personally would say the trend of “sagging” is a fashion atrocity, then again who am I or anyone else to judge someone else’s freedom of expression through style just because I don‘t like it. And is it really offensive and indecent for your underwear to be showing? What makes underwear so scandalous anyway? Some people view underwear as lewd because they associate it with intimacy. As our last barrier to being naked, it’s an article of clothing that is generally kept private and shown only shown to those with whom we have a close relationship. Generally speaking, that is. So the exposing of it has been taken as the exposure of your private intimate being, shocking! Nonetheless, is this reasoning valid? You could walk down the street in bike shorts yet if you were in boxer briefs it would be indecent. They have the same coverage and are no more or less modest than the other. And if you expose your underwear in a locker room full of people and it’s not thought of to be “intimate“, it‘s just your shorts. Our underwear is just as much an expression of ourselves as our outer clothing. And underwear is just that, clothing. We shouldn’t make it a taboo nor a crime if our underwear happens to be revealed. Now, I am not saying we should walk around in just our underwear or with our pants down to our knees. Even though I personally would love it if all I had to wear were underwear. I think we do need to take other peoples views into consideration and we don’t want to intentionally offend people. So as much as I would love the sagging fad to end creating laws and ordinances dictating acceptable exposure of underwear is not a law I want to see created. After all, sometime it’s nice to see a hot pair of undies sticking out the top of a guys pants. So men expose your underwear responsibly or the authorities may come after you.

Congrats guys and stay tuned for more soon!

A waistband is all a stranger can see of your underwear.  I feel a waistband can make or break you.  The Ristefsky Macheda briefs I recently reviewed have a stellar waistband; not to flashy but still enough to know the rest of the undies are hot.  The waistband has a simple black line on top and a bold raised logo across the band.  Luckily, the briefs are just as great as the waistband.

These briefs are wonderful in look and fit.  They are full briefs with a new twist on a retro style.  Purple piping and the wide waistband accent the charcoal fabric nicely.  A problem I usually have with briefs is the lack of a pouch.  I often find the boys are pushed back and squashed, but the RM briefs are supportive without constriction.  They are perfect for all day wear.  The small “functional” fly isn’t worth much and could have been left off.  It’s a little extra detail to stay true to the retro styling.

This was my first time wearing Ristefsky Macheda and, although they have a limited product line, I hope to soon add more of these to my underwear drawer.
