The new advertising campaign for Dolce&Gabbana Underwear stars five of the most representative Italian football players. Antonio Di Natale, Vincenzo Iaquinta, Claudio Marchisio, Federico Marchetti and Domenico Criscito are the new faces and bodies of the Dolce&Gabbama Underwear advertising campaign. The players, photographed by Mariano Vivanco in a vintage style changing room, display healthy and athletic bodies sculpted through rigorous training sessions and discipline.

The protagonists

Antonio Di Natale is a forward player for Udinese football team. In 2009/2010 he became the top goal scorer ever in the team’s history. He first wore the National team shirt at the age of 25 on November 20th 2002. On November 18th 2009, in occasion of his 30th game with the team, he wore the captain’s band with the National team for the first time in the friendly match Italy- Sweden (1-0).

Vincenzo Iaquinta played his first match with the National team in March 2005. He scored his first goal for the team in the game against Ghana during the 2006 World Cup, which Italy went on to win. Since 2007 he is a forward player for Juventus football club.

Claudio Marchisio grew up in the youth black and white team and currently plays midfield for Juventus football club. At the young age of 24 he had already worn the captain’s band for the black and white team during the Juventus- Fulham game of the Europa League this past March 11th (3-1). He made his debut with the National team August 12th 2009 at the age of 23 in the friendly match Switzerland-Italy (0-0).

Federico Marchetti was nominated best goal keeper for the 2008/2009 season on October 22nd 2009. Currently he defends Cagliari’s goal and he is the second goal keeper for the National team with which he made his debut at the age of 26 on June 6th 2009 in the game Italy- Northern Ireland (3-0).

Domenico Criscito is a midfielder/defender for Genoa cfc with which he has played over 100 games. He has played in all the youth National teams and on August 12th 2009, at the young age of 22, he made his debut with the premier National team in the friendly match Switzerland-Italy.

The photographer

Internationally-famed fashion photographer Mariano Vivanco shot this advertising campaign in addition to four Dolce&Gabbana publications which highlight the privileged relationship of the brand with the sports world: the books Calcio (2003), Milan Dolce&Gabbana (2006), Milan Family (2007), 2006 Dolce&Gabbana Italia Campioni del Mondo (2006) and the calendar with AC Milan’s football players as protagonists (2008).

I got Piss & Vinegar out of the blue for review! I opened the door and there was a big box outside my door. I thought it maybe was something for the Swimwear guide we just did, but upon opening them, I was shocked to find about 6-7 pairs of Piss & Vinegar!

The Pair I’m going to review is the Limitless Brief. Upon opening them the first thing that struck me was the color. It was a bright green. Granted green is my favorite color but I never would have thought of this color for a pair of underwear. They were kind of a cross between neon and lime green. I thought they were really fun. If you notice a trend here I love fun underwear. Yes I have some traditional briefs and such, although I don’t think I have many tighty whities, actually I don’t think I had any recently. I have some white pouch briefs but no true Tighty Whities.

I put them on and they felt really great. They look like tighty whites in their styling, but the material really fit me well. I remember saying to myself, “WOW these feel good” They are made out of 95% Cotton and 5% spandex/Elastane/Lycra. Which really felt great through out the day.

Have you ever worn a pair of underwear you didn’t want to take off? Well this pair was one of those. It just felt so good that when it came time, I wanted to wear them for another day. But you’ll be glad to know I didn’t. This one for sure will go in my top underwear drawer. They will go into heavy rotation and I will wear them often.

The creator of this line is Jason Southernland who created Ginch Gonch. I will way he’s outdone himself with this one. The line if colorful fun and hope to see it around for a long time to come

These are the latest designs for the ’60s Shorts’ range from aussieBum…. The model is Jarod Scott in his first aB shoot, and the photographer is Sean Ashby (aB Founder).

Peace(bottom shots): These shorts have a 60s design, and a (tartan black and blue pattern/floral pattern), that is perfect for the free-loving summer that 2010 is going to be. Great for beach parties, hanging out in the sun or just general day wear with a sexy design to turn heads your way.

Another in the series of our N2N reviews! The pair this time if from the Waistband Collection. I reviewed a trunk last time but I was really excited to review the brief.

The first thing that really caught my attention is the brief was black with red piping, which really made it stand out. I thought it was very cool and the look of the two colors is awesome.

I really enjoyed the trunk and had high hopes for this pair. Which I must say really lived up to what I hoped. When you see the pair it does have a pouch. I really love underwear with a pouch that holds everything in place.  I loved how the red piping highlighted the pouch. It just seemed like a detail that they really took into account. It’s sexy without being too much over the top. The two red piping stripes on the side, just really look awesome! As you can see with the picture from N2N.  The website says the pouch is an enhancing pouch. Which it does show off what you have but don’t expect it to be an “enhancing” pouch like some of the enhancing underwear out now. It does show off what you have in a nice way.

The pair fit awesome. I really was impressed with this pair. Everything about this pair just fit me well. It moved with me through the day. These would be perfect to wear to work. They are super comfy and sexy without being too obvious. Heck I would even say you could wear them to the gym without too many looks from guys going “what the heck is he wearing?”

I think N2N outdid themselves on this pair and highly recommend them! These were furnished for review and can be purchased directly from their website.

Are you looking for some great swimwear at even better prices for this year? Then you need to check out Baskit’s site for the sales they have on the selected swimwear. As you can see from the pics they are a few pairs but they have about 6 pairs that are $20 or less! For swimwear that’s an awesome deal! Check out all the styles.

Are you tired of boys in board shorts? You want to see or show more skin on the beach? Well you maybe in luck! The Speedo maybe making a coming back to a beach near you!

The reasons we say this is because the London Telegraph is reporting that there is a 400% increase in people searching for “Speedo” on the net. This could be a sign that the swim briefs are making a come back. Here is the States, outside of competitive swimming the market was primarily gay and it was always a small percentage of the market. The general population never really wore them, not like in other countries. Europe, Brazil and Australia have all worn speedo regardless of sexual orientation. I think the man problem here in the states is they were deemed “gay.” So the general population never fully embraced them.

I remember wearing my speedos back in the day. They were fun, I think my favorite pair was this competition cut by Speedo with the US flag on the front. I loved those and I think I still have them. My other favorite was from LA Sporting Club, and were just a black bikini and I virtually wore them till they couldn’t be worn any more!

Timoteo SwimwearSkmpeez Swimwear

If you look at some of the new lines you may actually see this. Many of the brands we deal with have swim briefs aka Speedos. The prime example of this is Andrew Christian. He has come out with the Show-It and Flashback lines in briefs. He’s never stayed away from the style. Timoteo is another brand that has some great swim briefs as well. I have seen a trend that more and more swimwear is becoming very body conscious. The perfect example of this is Skmpeez, they are a company in the last few years and have several cuts and the board shorts are still a briefer cut then most.

Take our  Swimwear Guide fro example, there were plenty of swim briefs. I think more and more companies will come out with the style. It was huge in the 90’s and a lot of guys wore them. Then the 2000’s hit and board shorts became big in the mens’ swimwear market. Even the gay market turned away from the swim brief. They have moved towards square cut or trunk style or even board shorts.

In the article they had a major UK retailer talk about the swimwear is reflecting what’s going on in underwear. People are going from boxers to trunks, from trunks to briefs and so on. So when guys go for swimwear they are doing the same. In the states even straight guys are paying attention to undies. They are getting pairs for comfort and fashion. I think this will start to carry over to swimwear as well, but I don’t think we’ll see a big increase in speedos here. Over the next few years I think we’ll see more and more different types of swimwear be acceptable on the US Beaches.

My question is this, I see this happening in UK and Europe, but the US has been so conservative in it’s swimwear and even underwear. The last few years we have had major strides in underwear by all guys. Gone are the days of the White/Gray/Black and in just briefs and boxer briefs. Now we have color, different styles and even enhancing pairs. If you live in the states I would love to know if you have worn a speedo? If not would you? Or why wouldn’t you consider them?

The N2N reviews continue on, we have quite a few of them and will be bringing them to you over the next few weeks. N2N is one of my favorite brands around. So, when the new line came out I got really excited and was happy when they sent it over to us!

The Twilight Brief is very similar to the Freedom line. I found them quite similar actually. Instead of a white waistband it had a black one and is available in black, white and grey. The materials are a 90% cotton/10% cotton rib fabric. It fits pretty well.  The only thing I wished was a little more support but it still was a great fit.

I wore them for a day of errands and running around. They didn’t bind or really loose their shape. There is nothing worse then undies that don’t hold up through the day. But, note these are a looser fit then normal. If are expecting a tight pouch these aren’t for you.

They were constructed very well. The one thing I always have to compliment N2N on is that they have amazing construction. They create underwear that holds up well wearing and in the wash. I have the ones I reviewed last year that still in great shape after a year of wear. And yes I wear them often!

If you want a great pair of underwear that are not too tight and breathes well though out the day then these are perfect for you!

How much is in a name? Moreover, how much does the name of something influence your purchase? If your like me, the chances are you get the object with the more interesting name. Now, to be completely truthful, there aren’t that many boring underwear brand names. Gigo, Funkytown, Boys and their Hardware, those all seem pretty interesting don’t they? Well the last one, carries quite a bit of individuality with it. Something a lot of brands don’t carry, but they should. Now the name, “Boys and their Hardware”, it sounds pretty creative doesn’t it? A little risque even?

I received the super dude pair, and let me tell you, it’s blue, very very blue. Coupled with the blue is the red piping, and then the Superdude logo on the front. It’s got a dull white waistband, with the “Boys and their Hardware” repeated around. The composition of the pair is cotton and elastic, but with no percentage on the underwear, but the website lists it at 90% cotton and 10% elastic. Throw all of that together, and you’ve got yourself a nice pair of underwear, very comfortable. Let me stress that again, it is very very comfortable.

I put these through the daily grind, and they held up like champs. I’m not really a fan of how long the legs are, but that’s more of a style problem, and not a brand one. That being said, they were comfortable, they didn’t bunch, and they look great. If your in the market for a new pair, definitely give Boys and their Hardware a look! You won’t be disappointed, and you’ll find some seriously great pairs for your collection.

We got a new brand to review, Boys and Their Hardwear! They have some really fun briefs and trunks. They wouldn’t be for the gym wear but for a date or just something fun to wear I think they would be perfect! The pair I got to review is the Big Hauler Briefs. As you can see they are yellow and have a truck on them. I think you know what the brief means!

They are like a traditional brief. Which can be good or bad, depending on how it’s made. I got to wear them for an active day and I will say I am glad they held their form all day. Sometimes when you get briefs they can loose their shape. Which, I don’t know about you, drives me crazy when I wear them. So the briefs are pretty good.

I think these have a really big fun factor. I love it when a company does something that makes underwear fun to wear, as they say! Too many times you have just white and black. These are fun without being too much over the top. If you wore them on a date I think you’d get a great reaction wearing them.

They are made from a 90% Cotton/10% spandex blend so they fit pretty nicely. As I mentioned above they hold their form. The sizing for them is pretty much standard sizing, so you don’t have to worry about getting the wrong size.
