Andrew Christian has developed 3 new styles for summer 2009. All three new styles are bikini/briefs, each one with its own unique look. The Laurel Bikini is a super-low cut bikini with slim sides. It has a very sporty racing body look and is made from very sexy Super Mesh material. The 2nd style new to 2009 is the Metal Cross Bikini. This super sleek bikini is sporting a larger front pouch that is accented by 3 style lines along the front of the pouch. This suit has a very sleek and sexy look on the beach for anyone. Finally, the 3rd new style for the summer is the Varsity Bikini. This little number has a black or navy body with contrasting side stripes and waistband. It is also sporting so great graphics. Go Softwear has 2 new suits for the upcoming summer months. Both are very interesting and worth taking a look. The first one is the C-Ring Swim Bikini. This suit has a c-ring sewn into the front panel. This ring gives your privates an upright silhouette. This suit comes in five color combinations. Another addition to the Go Softwear swimsuit collection is one that might look a little familiar to those you are fans of Go Softwear underwear. Its called the Lo-Rise Swim suit. It has the same look and feel of their lo-rise underwear. The cut is low at the waist with a contrasting color waistband. This look-a-like comes in 6 color combinations. Iqoniq
A new brand out on the US market these days in Iqoniq. They began with underwear and have slowly branched into other areas. They have six swimsuits available and they are all hot! Check them out ASAP. I want to highlight one suit specifically, because I love the cut and the color. The suit is called the Aquaric. It is a square-cut design with a athletic, but sexy look. The cost of these square-cuts are in the $30 range. These suits are available on the Iqoniq website.
DMK Designs
DMK Designs has a Drawstring in Charcoal, is a pair that can do double duty. Have you ever been somewhere and wanted to swim, but didn’t have a suit. Well this pair can serve both. If you have tired this with tighty whities, you know that they become see through when wet. These will make you look sexy on the spur of the moment. DMK is known for it’s daring designs and use of mesh. They are made for guys who have worked out hard all winter and what to show off for the summer. Frivole
Frivole has some really great suits for the summer. The one we think is a must have for summer is the Boy Wonder Brief – Available in multiple colors and at Frivole Exclusively. Quake For Men
Quake for Men has some really great suits for the summer. We are going to profile one very sexy suit and one very classic suit. The sexy suit is the Pistol Pete Zipper Trunk and Diesl Nagano Bathing Suit.
The first pair is the Pistol Pete Zipper trunk. Not surprisingly the Zipper Trunk has continued to be our best seller throughout the year and we have had to re-stock these several times. Here at Quake for Men we have noticed over the past years a definite UK trend for the more fitted swim trunks, it appears Men are moving away from the longer length shorts. International Jock is well known for it’s broad selection in undies and swimwear. This year is no exception they have one of the largest collections around. The pair we chose is the Diesel Thorpys Swim Brief Red. I noticed on either Facebook or on Twitter the other day, that there seems to be a theme going around in Men’s Underwear. The color PINK! Yes that’s right I said the color pink. It used to be that pink was only for women, but not any more. Now more and more companies are putting out pink undies.
I first starting thinking about and then read in London’s Daily Mail ran an article that men are picking brighter color undies in the wake of the recession. The specific example they had was that Jockey’s Famous Y-Front pink briefs sold significantly higher then the other colors. This increase carried over to other pastel and brighter colors because men wanted something to brighten their wardrobe in these tough economic times.
The companies that have recently released pink undies are C-IN2, Timoteo, and Jockey. While other companies are using pink as accent colors, like Gigo. C-IN2 has come out with and entire
line that are pink. They include many of the basic styles, briefs, boxer briefs, and tee’s. These are all the solid pink, and if you remember that last year they had a limited edition brief that was pink. But, C-IN2 doesn’t have just solid pink undies, they also have the Time Sphere pattern that is grey and pink. All with the styling of C-IN2.
Timoteo as you have seen on this blog came out with pink briefs this past month. They have rolled out a campaign to showcase the pink brief. We have featured this on out Underwear of the Week a few weeks back. Right now they just have the low brief and jockstrap in pink.
We asked Timoteo about the new pink colors. “Why PINK? Well…in 2009 PINK is fashion. PINK is soothing. The Wall Street Journal said that all major designers were going with colors (pastels; pinks, lavenders etc) that made people comfortable in these economic times. At TIMOTEO, PINK is fashion. PINK is sassy and best of all….PINK isn’t just for girls! We say…..”LIVE LIFE LIKE LIKE YOU MEAN IT……WEAR PINK!”.
Ginch Gonch, known for their interesting patterns. has even make some pink undies. They have used pink in their Pink Piggie style. The back ground in the pattern is pink. But this is not the only style that they have used pink in, the Argyle pattern as well. It was one we featured on Underwear of the week! So, Ginch Gonch is one company not afraid of breaking the rules in men’s undies, and pink is a part of that!
Pink has made an appearance as an accent color as well. One of my favorite new styles is the Gigo
Points Jockstrap that has a pink waistband and a polka dot black and white pouch. It is just fun. Gigo in last few weeks has put out some really incredible prints. They have some that are pastel and have pink accents. They are ones that are just fun. We plan to go in more detail about them in another post.
But the love of pink isn’t new. One company that used pink a few years back was Baskit. They had a pink jockstrap that was one of their best sellers. When we talked to Baskit a while back, they said that it may make a come back someday and with all the new pink undies, maybe we will see it soon.
Not all makers are doing pink undies, but more and more are starting to use the color. It’s a fun color and something out of the ordinary. I think that’s why I like it so much. It’s not a color you would expect in men’s undies. But just like pink shirts, I think that it will catch on and more and more companies will start using it. As the Daily Mail article said, its just a fun way to brighten things up and these economic times anything that can bring some joy is a good thing.
We are curious as to what you think about pink undies. I asked on Twitter to include some feedback. Adam from Dead Good Undies said “my opinion is that blokes can also be pretty in pink 8-).” Wraith55, our Asst. editor said “they are hot and trendy. Adam at Dead Good Undies said “Pink is the new Black” the same as the title of this posting. ” John from Men’s Underwear Blog said that they are very hot and sexy. Hey there! I have another interesting review for all you UnderwearNewsBrief.com fans. The reason why it’s so interesting is for two reasons. First, it is that it’s another pair of briefs. And that is a bit strange coming from a 30 something guy that wears jocks about 95% of the time. The second reason is that the type/style of brief is a bit exotic from the usual briefs I own myself. The briefs are the HOM plume II micro briefs. I reviewed the flesh colored micro briefs in size large.
Let’s get this review rolling. The fit of the briefs were comfortable. The size large worked well for me. As always, less is more for me, and these briefs pull that off well. The micro waistband is snug and very functional. The material is very soft and almost silk like. As well as a bit sheer. One big plus for me, I very much enjoy sheer and/or mesh when wearing briefs. It gives them a sexy look without revealing too much. The pouch area had a good amount of room. My junk didn’t feel confined. The seat of the briefs had great coverage and held in position all day long. I however did not wear these too the gym, so I can’t comment on their ability to hold up while working out. But I would say the style alone tells me these are not workout gear material. But then again, that call is always up to the wearer.
Overall, the cut and style, along with the high quality materials make this brief one well put-together and very sexy item. But the look is not for the timid at heart. You have to be a truly man’s man to wear this brief. The waistband is micro and gives off the look of women’s underwear a bit. This is compounded by the flesh color. Now this brief is available in black as well. So if you are not a fan of the flesh color you have another option. However, I do 
have to say that after wearing this brief I found it to be very comfortable and functional. And the skimpy and sheer look gives it a very sexy look. So I would totally wear this brief again, if someone would be kind enough to pass along a pair in black.
So to sum it all up, I believe the HOM plume II micro brief is a very stylish and exotic pair of briefs. I give it an overall rating of 4.6 on a scale of 5.
